Matt built me a set of cross wheels that I use for all types of riding. theyve really handled some rough roads with a lot of weight (clydesdale, but just barely ), probably about 1500 miles of mostly rough gravel with some washboard abuse that Id admit, if I were the confessional type, should probably void my frame warranty. The winthrop fondo doles out some punishment on bikes and wheels and these sailed right through it. Theres a great benefit to 36 spokes at reasonable tension compared to the current factory wheels, they are noticeably more comfortable and very strong and they are not significantly heavier either. Quick build, reasonable cost, great help figuring out what you need.... As long as MLW is around, when I need a wheelset, thats where Ill go.
