Ive always had a great experience at Dosey Doe! Food is fresh, I recommend you get the chicken friend steak. Drinks are made correctly. Get seats on the floor, middle to back and be ready for up close and personal foot tapping good time. Bonus would be a dance floor because it makes you want to dance. But its an exceptional place to get together with friends, date night whatever the occasion you wont be disappointed. The history of the building is a story its self. We have seen Aaron Watson and Jon Stork. Wish we went more often.
What a great live music venue! It really gets you up close and personal with the artist. The meal was included in the concert price. The menu changes daily but you still had three choices. I had the chicken fried steak which was delicious! The service was great and the concert was amazing! If youve never seen Neal McCoy live, youre missing out! He is one heck of a performer!
The wait staff was fantastic! We saw D. Rainwater and Ginger Billy it was so good we laughed our lungs out. I cant wait to go for Breakfast.
This place is amazing!! Food was great service is out this world! Ginger Billy was hilarious!! DoseyDoe is heading for iconic status!!
Great food, great music, and a great time! Well definitely be coming back. Just FYI, this is not a country dancing place, but more of a sit down dinner and live music kind of place.
Love this place!! The tables are spread out enough that you are free to get up easily if need be, the acoustics are superb, the food is delicious, the wait staff is great. Anytime they book someone I like, I try to go. Now that I’ve moved to Fort Worth it’s not as easy, but I still make it down on occasion.
Great experience!!! Excellent food and atmosphere! Definitely a must see!
Please bring back brunch to the big barn. It was the best, its super close to my house and my family and I loves it as a tradition. The heart break comes back every weekend when there is no adequate replacement for your God tier brunch, the other dosy doe locations are poorly managed and their coffee is even bad..... please bring back brunch here.
Great show last night with Albert Cummings!! It was worth the wait. Enjoyed every moment!! ❤
Great place to see a show! Menu is limited right now due to Covid. Food is good.
One of my favorite bars to go to! Love the atmosphere and the experience. 100% worth going to.
This is a unique restaurant with a great atmosphere and good food. We regularly go there for breakfast on the weekend. Service is always pretty good with friendly wait staff. The ambience cant be beat although it has a distinct country feel to it so be aware if thats something youre not into. We personally like the rustic barn-like feel inside. The design of the building itself is actually quite incredible in that its almost acoustically pure. This makes it an amazing venue for watching live performances of which they regularly host I highly recommend checking out their schedule of artists playing there.
1st visit to this venue. Melissa, our waitress, was exceptional! The drinks were delicious and the food was good but limited in selection. The acoustics are wonderful. Will definitely attend others shows here.
Amazing listening room. “Best in the country” they’ll tell you at the opening of a show, and they just might be right. Food is no frills, but delicious (I recommend the chicken fried steak), and the coffee is pretty phenomenal as well. I would recommend anyone see a show here as there are no bad seats, and it is a very rustic and intimate place to see some music while having a bite to eat.
The entertainment for last night was Johnny Lee and Mickey Gilley. If you didnt go you missed a hell of a show. Though they are both older now they have still got their charm and those voices. Before arriving I didnt know Johnny was to be there so when I found out there would be two of my childhood idles on stage I was beside myself. Until last night I had never seen either of them perform. Thanks to my brother Mark Compton he and I took our mother on a date which I will never forget. When Johnny hit the stage I was in awe with tears flowing the rest of the night. The chicken fried steak was great didnt care for the salad but not much of a salad man anyway.
Incredible venue with great acoustics! Wife and I saw Wilder Blue on our date night and they were unbelievably good. Dont sleep on this place - its a gem
Amazing Service, amazing building. It was an old barn moved and repurposed and it felt like home. John Conlee was absolutely impressive. Whole experience was wonderful! Planning next trip!
The country fried steak dinner was perfect. Delicious. Margaritas outstanding. Waiters need to kick it into high gear but satisfactory. Overall excellent to outstanding.
I went to my first show at Dosey Doe last night to see Chad Prather and everything was fantastic! The food was good, the Irish coffee (made with Dosey Doe’s own in-house roasted coffee) was delicious, and service was great! If you’re looking at tickets and want to save a little money, don’t let the category “obstructed” turn you off. I had a pretty great balcony spot, just had to turn my seat a little, and could see everything
Very cool venue to see artists. One of the best chicken fried steaks Ive had in a long time.
1st time experience was excellent! Friendly atmosphere! Great service by Chris! John Conlee was amazing!
Experienced a Carbon Leaf concert here. I know now why it was awarded as the best concert venue for acoustics. It was one of the best concert experiences I have ever had. Book as soon as you know your favorite band will be there and get the middle table upstairs for the best view in the house. (See the photo)
Has become my favorite spot to see a live show. The food and staff are awesome
Great venue! Like an old country honky tonk.
Wonderful atmosphere. Every seat is the best seat in the house. Food is amazing!
It was my first time going there and I didnt know what to expect. The artists performing were really good. It was a fun and intimate music performance setting. The music and great service excellent. I would definitely come back to Disney Doe in the future.
It was fantastic, loved every minute we were there. Peter Noone puts on a excellent show! Loved it!
Great place. Nice atmosphere, down home feeling. Not overly crowded like some venues. Will be back.
Waiting for the next time Mark May Band comes back, the bandwasphenomenal. And the food was awesome.
A Bottle Water Youre good to go enjoy the show I dont Recommend Ordering off the Menu
Check the sales before you attend to know if you will be at a recital or a live music entertainment event. This was our first time attending a public music event since COVID. Normally we go downtown to big places and small places, we have always skipped this venue. We had a group of 6 and the atmosphere was driven by the artist’s need to have a private recital... maybe for his grandma that was front and center? We were called out for talking... oops. Well now I know. Only downtown professional music events for us... no recitals.
We loved this place! Wynonna was amazing. Little Jack Barksdale for being 13 blew us away. Support this kid if you appreciate real music. We will be back. The Dosey Doe is something special.
I attended the Wynonna Judd concert last night! The music was fantastic! I am glutton free and was advised per their website to call ahead and let them know! I called ahead and got a recording probably 20 times. I finally got to speak with a person, who knew nothing about their menu and could not answer any questions! Once I arrived, while checking in I asked them again what they had on the menu that was glutton free and asked to speak with the manager! The manager advised me that they had 3 entrées, one of which was glutton free. It was not marked as glutton free on the menu! I spoke with the owner about the lack of food choices after spending $200 for the tickets, I left there hungry!!
Came here for music. Did not eat food here, just ice tea. Friendly place, great acoustics.
We love Dosey Doe. We try to see a show here at least once a month. They have amazing artist that play here and their service is always amazing. The only bad thing is when people are rude and talking while the artist are trying to perform. Happens every time(not DD fault some people just dont have manners). We usually sit up top in Caseys section and he is an awesome server. Thanks DD for keeping your doors open during the rona mess.
One of a kind place, stop by if you plan a trip to Houston, terrific staff
Great venue. Great food. Tight seating.
Always a good time. Food is very good and its a cool intimate venue. Music sounds great. Will always come back here!
Tracy Byrd Was Very Enjoyable. But The Folks Beside Us Were Very Rude, The Louder He Sang, The Louder They Got. Food Is Always 5 Star, Chicken Fried Steak Absolutely Delicious. The Waiter Chris Was Very Kind & Professional. My Friend Michael Ford Is Always @ His Best.We Love You Mr.Ford. Ty Sir For A ACOUSTIC Evening.!! FLETCH.
Great venue, food was good, show was excellent.
Had tbe best time at the show. forever young rev! great experience.
Had a good time! Wish they did more Rock live shows!
Great place to see a music show. Good food, and cappuccino, and of course beer & BBQ.
Have visited this venue twice. First experience wonderful. Second, terrible. I wrote someone after we attended the show that if the music was not so fantastic we would have walked out. Service was non existant and they did nothing to redeem that experience. So unfortunate because again. Great first experience.
Great acoustics. Music sounded great. Great food and great service. Chris was a great server.
Such a fun place to hang out! Great drinks, good music. Hope we have an opportunity to go back.
One of the most comfortable and intimate music venues Ive ever visited. Loved seeing the framed photos of previous performers. The food and service were very good. Its definitely worth the drive from west Houston to see talented performers up close. Ive ordered tickets to two other upcoming shows.
Entertainment was great but unfortunately the food and service continues to disappoint. We waited almost 10 years to come back and see a show due to awful food the last time. Last night it took a good 20 minutes for the waitstaff to get our drink order, service was extremely slow. My husbands food was delivered to the table cold which they took back to the kitchen to reheat. Itd be great if food was separate from the entertainment instead of being forced to pay for both. Im not paying to see any entertainment there until its separate charges. Too expensive for awful food service!
Clean, well run, great service, parking is an issue but get there early and no problems.
This place has the best acoustic in town, no matter were you sit in here you have a great view. Also there food is all good Ive tried about everything they have to offer. This place is expensive though. But a great place for a date with your ole lady and new girls to impress.
One of the most charming venues I have ever been to.
I’ve been to Dosey Doe Big Barn many times to enjoy some great live music at such a great venue .After tonight I would like to suggest everyone to watch the charges on their tab closely especially the TAX !It makes me wonder how many times I have as well as every one else has been overcharged .
Great environment! Slight feeling of crowdedness at sold out show.
Great surroundings, great food, fun to be able to get out and listen to live music. Very friendly staff, appreciative of your business, and of course amazing coffee!
Great music venue. The sound quality in this old barn is fantastic. The food options for dinner is just ok, but they have very large portions if you paid extra for dinner. Its a close, and intimate venue and there are no issues seeing the musicians. The only issue is their chairs, which are very old, dont have much in the way of cushion, so get there early so you can pick the one you want.
Saw best venue to see live music in Houston!!! Great food even better service. I had the pleasure of seeing Southern Retaliation and they were amazing!!! Two thumbs up 👍👍
Amazing venue and staff!
This may have been our first trip to Dosey Does Big Barn, but it is most assuredly not our last! The food and staff were great. We went to see Wade Hayes, who put on a great show. The opening act was Scotty Alexander, whose vocal and instrumental talent was an amazing treat.
Great venue for live music. Acoustically superior to larger clubs...great sightlines...easy to practice safe socially distancing...plenty of complimentary parking within a few feet of the entrance. Decent dinner menu and service was excellent. I will be returning soon!
