Literally had nightmares the next time I fell asleep. Instead of waiting another week and taking it to Best Buy who advertises correct kits and guaranteed work, I thought, a professional installer is just that, WRONG. I originally did one door myself making a mess of it with loose wires, using original brackets by drilling new holes in them, using sticky tape to make the tweeter stay on an undersized bracket. Afterwards I thought, Quit being cheap and pay for a pro job. $150 later, they did the SAME THING I did, other than cleaner wires and using hot glue to make the tweeters stick onto an UNDERSIZED bracket. They used no kits, just splicing and electrical tape. Icing on the cake, they smoked while doing it. Ive never smoked near my vehicle with the doors, windows open. I literally feel like Ive been robbed.
One of the only stores that had a quality head unit in stock with the chip shortage and COVID. The guys were very friendly and pretty helpful.
Not the greatest selection or prices. It’s nice to see Radio Shack live on and have a place that might have the component necessary for a project, but they really don’t have much. Unfortunately nothing like the former radio shacks in NWA. There’s no arduino or raspberry pi parts or components.
Sean and family have done a fantastic job of keeping it together so we can still enjoy a RadioShack our town. All of the employees, in the front for sales, and, the installers in the back know their craft and have always run a very reputable business. I am truly grateful for them being in the community for us and will always continue to walk through their doors.
Bonnie and Sean provided outstanding customer service to me when I had laptop power issues. They definitely went above and beyond the call of duty. I will use their services again in the future when the need arises.
I had to make some custom cables for my studio. I stepped in to get some supplies to complete the task. This location carries a lot of miscellaneous items that youll inevitably see at random and grab, just incase you need. The associates are ready to help at a moments notice. Prices may reflect the currect economy and availability of harder to find items from anywhere else. Just come here and save time.
I came here to have four door speakers installed into my truck and it took over 3hours to do I would never ever have anything done here again. Regular speakers, no Amp or anything extra. The service is extremely slow. You have been warned.
Frendly and helpful.
Very friendly staff. Also helpful whether on the phone answering questions or helping a customer in the store. You get the hometown mom n pop shop feeling here.
The notice come back/return customers and help out on pricing. Shows they care about their customers. Thanks!
THE BEST electronics store in the state. Has everything and more. Guys who run it are fantastic, smart and out-of-the-box thinkers. And for anyone desperate for a car stereo installation (because the always overbooked Best Buy across the street is the ONLY big box with car stereo installations), these guys are pros. Little gadgets, like the C-type converter tips and those weird cell booster cables that use 7/16 DIN connections, HE has a converter for it; and just about any type battery, electronic gizmo you could need. Great stereo components for custom stereos and speakers. I love this place!
I had some led’s installed on the bottom of my trucks back bumper and a 20” light bar on the front bumper. Well I was in total disbelief looking at what they did. They drilled holes in my front and back bumpers and used humongous bolts with big bolt heads sticking out right in the middle of both front and back bumpers that are now ruined. I wanted it to look professionally done that’s why I took it there. Instead they did it the easiest and most tacky looking way possible. It was a costly mistake ruining my front and back bumpers. I still can’t believe the work they did.
They usually have what I am looking for. Nice people.
They are fantastic. Well versed in all their products. If you have a project these guys can really help you out!!!!! I was looking to get rid of my factory Bose amp and upgrade along with door speakers and tweeters. They saved me a lot of time and money along with a big headache.
Went here to get my radio installed in my car and that was a bad idea. After the installation, my doors started unlocking randomly, my low beam lights then continued to flicker on and off. Came back the same day, just about an hour after my car was ready. Then was told by the owners worker about how much experience he has. That had nothing to do with my car not functioning properly after he installed the radio. I walked in the store and the owner completely ignored me as I was an inconvenience of his time. Had my mechanic look at it and was told the wiring due to the radio installation was the reason for the malfunctioning of my dashboard light flickering as well as my doors . Owner did not reimburse me back for the less than half a job after I went elsewhere to have the proper wiring connections for my radio and vehicle to function properly. Must be family that are rating this joint for it be to 4 stars. Go to Shady Slims tints.
These guys took very good care of me with fair pricing and respect. Did what Best Buy couldnt do. Thanks again guys!!!
Worsted experience ever...first day the hooked my system up the next day my car wouldnt start... I had parts they left off my car on the back floor... I took it back because the speakers stopped playing and to put my parts back on my car...they never put the parts back on the car... they claim the lost them and for me to purchase them my self and bring them the bill...but as far as them fixing my radio the never did my speakers burned up before I could clear the store. They had finger prints all in my car on the headliner and the headliner was coming down which they did fix but my radio still doesnt work properly...I took my car back three times and everytime I got it back there was a different problem...they truly need better help...
Excellent..One the few small electronic stores left. A little expensive but youll usually find what you need or get pointed in the right direction. It use to be a Radio Shack franchise. When they went under, this store was able to survive on its own. They must be doing something right.
Low on stock, due to pandemic (like most other places). Otherwise they ha normally have a wood selection. Lots of audio aftermarket equip also.
Love this store!! They have an extensive array of audio electronics and accessories as well as almost every kind of cable and electronic parts for just about any project.
Great selection and great service! Friendly staffs was able to help me select the best product for my application. If I need anything else I’ll be sure to go here first!
Had my a new radio installed here. When I paid for the installation the manager had me swipe my card twice so my bank account was charged twice. When I called then to let them know that they hit my account twice the manager assured me the duplicate charge would fall off in a day or so. After speaking to my bank the following day they said that Hurricane needed to send a fax on letterhead asking them to release the duplicate charge. The manager at Hurricane said they had never had to do this before but hesitantly said he would do it. As of late that evening my bank confirmed the fax was never sent releasing my money but they got their money so they don’t care I was charged twice. I now have a ten day hold on those funds because Hurricane didn’t do what they said they would do. Never again.
Always helpful been shopping there since 2010. Hard to find items Chip will try to order, saw a lot of things at a decent price and now I know where Mr. Bill from Safe and Sound security finds items to help on the job. Life time patron.
Helpful staff. i hate no one fixes their own electronics anymore. they would probably get new stuff in. all in all a good experience. staff is knowledgeable
This place is bizarre. I wasnt sure what to rate it so I gave it the benefit of the doubt with 3 stars.Heres the breakdown:Pros: It has a lot of little pieces and parts that I would typically have to order online. This is nice because I have the convenience of a neighborhood electronics store.Cons: The staff arent always helpful and the store is super unorganized. This place is like a blast from the past that Im not sure I wanted. The shelves are stocked with old telephones and mp3 players and the discount table is lined with unidentifiable broken things. Almost every boxed electronic is an old version of something that has been updated many times.I never understood how Radio Shack could possibly end up bankrupt in an age where every 15 year old is flying a drone in his back yard. Get some technicians that know their stuff and bring this place to life!
Great inventory of audio components and related items. Great customer service!
The only RadioShack for a hundred miles, as far as I know. Its seems a bit eclectic and disorganized on the shelves, but if you need random electronic components on hand immediately, I cant imagine where else youd get them.
Great service. Helpful staff and hard to find components.
Staff friendly and helpful. Not over bearing. Been around along time.
NEVER AGAIN!! These guys installed $2,100 worth of audio equipment in my Tundra like rank amatures. No quality inspection was done, guy ran everything off one side of my trucks speakers so I was missing the right side sound. Had to go to Nortons for it to be done correctly.
Local car stereo and electronics shop. Deep roots in summerville going way back. High prices but some wiggle room. One of the only places in summerville to repair and install car stereo.
These guys always have what I need and are always super easy to work with!
I spent 700$ on door speakers, a new radio, a sub and amp with all of the wiring kits and all. 2 days after getting everything done my window stopped rolling down and the door speakers stopped working. We had to completely pull everything out to find that they left the factory door amp in the door wrapped with bubble wrap. This is completely wrong. They charged me for a wiring kit but used old wire! I will definitely not be coming back here after them trying to take the easy way out!!
Home or cat audio, any and all electronic needs... theyre the unlikely nerds you need to see. Extremely great customer service!
Great staff and a great locally owned store highly recommend over Best Buy
Awesome staff, great service and not bad on pricing either,
They do great work and a great price! They are honest and very knowledgable.
Do not get any speakers hooked up there I went about a month to 2 months ago to get 4 door speakers hooked up for my husband while he was out of town working and he just got home and opened up one of the doors and the speaker has been cut and glued!!!! And they charged me over 400 and had my car from 9 AM to 9 PM and did not tell me anything !!
A little bit of everything
Love this place Ill be back great guys
Great place. Nice employees and great selection of RadioShack and audio products.
Came in with cb issues. Got the cb working and tuned in no time for just the cost of an antenna. Going to the four wheel drives shops around here i probably would of ended up with a one to two week wait, new cb, new wiring, empty wallet. Ill definitly be back.
You can find specialty products there that you cant find other places.
Went to this store looking for a small capacitor (like fingernail sized) for the tone control in one of my guitars, a .047uf or a .068uf. These are very common electronic parts, and in very common values. Parts bin was a total disheveled mess with no logical method of organization. Employees were unhelpful and lacked rudimentary knowledge of electronic components and value denominations. I will not return to this store again.
These guys have a great selection and are very helpful and knowledgable.
Everybody is pretty helpful and the manager is really nice
Very dangerous drivers. Especially the black SUV with the pink writing on the back going 65 miles an hour through Wescott neighborhood.
Great selection for the hobbyist, helpful staff.
They always have what I need or can atleast order it. Great service!
Finally a electronics store where employees know atleast as much as I do about wiring and connections! Top notch.
Expansive locationHelpful, knowledgeable staffDefinitely a well run store
Awesome little shop with a bunch of things ranging from car audio to basic electronic components, organization can be a but messy at places but staff are very helpful if you need help finding anything.
Good people and good service!
Very chaotic. Hard to find what youre looking for. The staff was not very helpful, especially when trying to discuss car audio equipment.
Always looks out for the Locals! Go here first!
Radio shack lives. Might find some maker things here that youd otherwise have to order online and wait for.
Very very helpful people here. I screwed it up and theyre going to fix me up!
Great customer service..
Very nice staff
A little more expensive, but very knowledgeable
I go there at least once a month if no more all the staff are awesome especially Bonnie
Very helpful staff
They’re not bad but they’re not good personalities of egg especially the light skin guy with bad skin who works on the vehicles had to bring back the car because the inside was shaking he at like he had an attitude never again.
Good place, Good people.
If youre looking for hobby electronics, this is the place to go now that there are no more Radio Shacks left in the Charleston area.
Knowledgeable employees
