This store Manager is awesome! Store is clean, fast and friendly check out most of the time. I would have given 5 stars but unfortunately there is one employee whom is very discriminatory towards others particularly lower income individuals. I have personally witnessed it and was not OK with her remarks in regards to the young lady who was using a alternative payment. It is not her place to give her opinions about things like this nor will it ever be, her position is to provide a fast and friendly check out not degrade or belittle others as they walk away.

I was on vacation en route to Portland, Oregon. I bought some Gerber baby foods (yogurt) from this store and fed it to my baby. A while after I was flabbergasted to discover that the product is expired by more than 6 months (I admit it was my mistake to not double check before buying). The next day my toddler had some upset stomach and diarrhea. This is unacceptable considering these are baby foods. I probably wont visit Safeway again

Safeway is big and has all you could possibly need. The employees are helpful and friendly. It is open 24hrs a day 7 days a week very convenient.

Shame one cannot go to the local grocery store without being assaulted by ignorance.If your not cis/white/straight best drive to Reno.Not a reflection of store staff, everyone was friendly and helpful.

The Starbucks Manager DENISE is ridiculously rude to customers and staff. Ive even seen her disrespect management and NOTHING happen. She cant make any drinks and complains when she is asked to help customers in the kiosk she manages. Im contacting corporate since the issues clearly wont be addressed there.

My granddaughter has a sunburn. A store employee commented on it; then said that it is really red: then followed us to lecture me on the danger of sunburn. I did not chew her out (I wanted to). I called the store and spoke to a manager whom was giggling while I told her. I dont find it funny at all. Be PROFESSIONAL AND MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!

I would have given a fourth star had it not had been for the rediculoiusly slow service I received at the meat/seafood department, especially since I was the only customer there at the time. I went in for a quick run in and grab dinner trip, and ended up being held up an extra 25 minutes for a dozen fresh oysters. I wont be returning anytime soon.

Very rude at the Starbucks counter. I stood there at their counter waiting to be acknowledged and they act like they didn’t even see me. I asked if they were open and one of them said yes and kept about his business. I stood there another couple of minutes and they didn’t say a word so I left. Starbucks should reprimand these two for they are very unprofessional!

I usually buy most of my meat and dairy here. Store is very clean. The flower arrangements are good. Best time to shop is early mornings or late nights on week days. Any other time the lines are crazy and there are so many people shopping.

I shop almost exclusively at Safeway, they are bar none the best. The prices are a little higher but you pay more for quality and customer service.

Very disappointed in a recent cake order. Cut into a special order cake during my sons birthday and it was not even relatively close to what I had ordered. Chocolate cake with cherry filling was what I had ordered and received a plain white cake. An employee had even called me shortly before pickup because they didn’t have the topper I ordered in stoc. She even confirmed it was what I had ordered. Imagine my little boys disappointment when it was a flavor he won’t eat. So guess who didn’t get any cake? Unfortunately this is the second cake order that was incorrect but I just let that one go. Accidents happen. But two times in a row and now I will be buying cakes from IGA.One star is for offering a refund.

This is an older store. It could use new equipment like freezers, sliders, coolers etc. Its a store in Susanvilly Can so it doesnt have the traffic flow a city store does but thats no reason for this mega millions company to ignore its patrons. The employees get along well and are very friendly, willing to help and knowledgeable. Great place to shop but a little pricey.

Its nice inside. The cashiers here are always doing their jobs well, and everything is pretty easy to find.

Decent enough place to shop - just about the only place in town you can find some specialty products like kimchi and good oat-milk, haha. Very stressful place to work, so I hope all who visit appreciate the staff who come in every day and work on their feet for hours on end. Rarely dirty because of the strict cleaning routine they have the staff on hourly. The masks they sell here are also super cheap but good enough quality so thats great right now :) all in all, its a decent place to shop in Susanville, but the environment for employees is not inviting and causes morale to be low. People deserve to be happy at work, not abused by customers and then forced to cry it off on a break in the bleak break room or curb. For the emotional abuse and uncomfortable situations employees can face, they deserve a raise. For the work expected of them every single hour they deserve another.

Went to the deli. Got a whole plate for just $7. Beyond satisfied. The lady cashier was amazing and super friendly. Ill come back here every time I drive thru.

A cashier named Teri is all I have to say. She was so unfriendly and rude. I have worked for Safeway before and I know how important it is to be nice to customers and that is not Teri. Beyond rude and so cold. Didn’t say a word to me the whole time ringing up my groceries... AFTER being so rude and telling the lady in front of me to stop what she’s doing and stand back. “Because of social distancing” So rude.

I love the produce at Safeway.The last few times (4-5) Ive been here 50% or more of the produce shelves have been empty. As in nothing there.Also I dont know why there is only 1 checker available. When 5-6 people are lined up they call a new checker, weird goings on.

The Produce was disgusting. Moldy. Unorganized. Disappointing.

We visit this store at least once a day. We really appreciate the effort to get healthy quality foods. One issue we have had on a regular basis is the expiration dates. Also the produce has been on the extra ripe side. Other than that it is a great store and extremely clean. The Starbucks here is also great!

Great store. A great produce department with knowledgeable staff. The variety and quality of fruit and vegetables was impressive. The store was well layed out and staff was not only present but abundant and accommodating. High end prices are drastically reduced when using their just for you app. Love this store.

Nice store setup, good selection, and friendly service at this Safeway location. A huge plus as well for being the only place in town that is open late for necessary items. Awesome! It just seems like the end of the night this is one of the only stores you can go to and not that the service or selection isnt adequate, it just doesnt seem like the store ever changes .There are never any jelly donuts and honestly its location could be more centralized as it is the largest grocery store in all the town. It may be called Safeway but let me assure you there is nothing safe about their prices shop here at your wallets own risk.

My cashiers name was Matt he was so very rude didn’t talk say hi ask how I’m doing nothing didn’t say one word to me the whole time I took my change and I still thanked him and he still didn’t say anything to me and kept talking to another employee that was behind me waiting to check out I have never had such rude service as I do when I shop at this Safeway I’ll be taking my business to IGA from now on

I really dont like to publicly complain or shame, but I have to be honest...this store is always dirty, the aisles are full of boxes every time I go in and the staff that I have had contact with are borderline rude. I dont go to this store unless necessary.

Staff is rude. Went to get my daughter balloons for her birthday nobody came to help and employees kept walking by. After about 15 min we went and found someone and his response was, I dont know how to do the balloons. I get that, but could you find someone that does?!?

Usually the meat dept. Is really well stocked and there are more butchers to help and things are cut more evenly. But for some reason, my meat wasnt cut evenly. I am very picky.

With a recent change in management there are many new employees. Of course I have my favorites that always standout in their superior customer service. The tall young man in the butcher area is always helpful, smiling and pleasant. I believe his name is Josh. The young man and woman who work floral give superior service. Marcee and Josh are the lines I choose to get into when Im ready to checkout. Store is clean and atmosphere safe.

The staff is always helpful and polite.And they have a great verity of fresh produce and deli items.

I love my Safeway♡it is spacious, clean and well-stocked. I appreciate my Just 4 U and Club savings. I like the app, use it a lot.

We keep going back to the deli because its clean, reasonably priced and a healthy alternative to fast foods. However the service is NEVER friendly theyre either irritated, snappy, or complaining to eachother about their work load. We even had a lady tell the woman next to us if she had a problem with the service maybe she should apply at safeway. Im always appalled, every other department is delightful, knowledgeable and helpful.

Very nice variety of groceries from frozen foods to fresh foods, liquor to soft drinks, produce, meats, eggs, and pretty much any dairy you need. This place is open 22 hours a day until 2 a.m. decent prices.

While the employees worked hard and efficiently it is obvious that there was not enough checkout and box help on the schedule today. Store was clean and stock help worked diligently to keep the shelves full

Well laid out for such a small town. Be advised CA charges a bag fee for plastic bags. Bit of a surprise if you arent ready. Other than that well stocked with all your shopping needs.

This Safeway is not impressive. They are constantly out of the same items it is never convenient to be assured you will show up and find what you need because they are out of it. The shopping carts are disgusting and need to be cleaned you can see homeless people pushing them around town also. The carts make me not want to put my food in them. Unfortunately this store is only one of two options for groceries in town.
