Today was an awesome day, I made a wrong turn into the right place American Truck Depot on Adams Street. Mr. Demetrius was a sweetheart a very kind gentleman and the staff was amazing also. They fixed my truck at a very affordable price. They also offer Acima Credit and American First Finance. So if you’re having car problems look them up and tell them Tawasia sent you.😁 5 ⭐️

I went in asking for them to check my shocks/front end alignment. I mentioned I was having an issue with the temp gauge but it was working now so just look at the shocks. I mentioned to them it was probably the flap on the thermostat.Long story short, they gave me a quote for both but charged me $160 for checking the gauge that works and would have billed me more if I hadnt told them to not keep running diagnostics. Their tests confirmed what I told them the problem was, the thermostat.Before I left, the guy said hed just hook it up to a machine and check for a code but if it didnt throw one, Id have to wait for it to break again. I was given no indication theyd bill me that much for no work. It doesnt take 2 hours of work to check for a code...I also asked them if theyd give me a call by the end of the day and they didnt. Checked up on it the next day and was told theyd have to call me back in a few minutes and that they’d send me an email with the quotes. They didnt do either. 24 hours later I had no value added to my car and a $160 bill for something I didnt want them to look at and that they didnt even fix.The previous owner of the shop was Gary. He had good mechanics in there that did good work. Talked to me about my car and advised me on what to fix vs not to get good value. This new shop moved into the garages recently and I wont go back. I mentioned that before they spend 2 hours looking at a car, they should make sure the customer wants you to keep going. Just do what you tell the customer you are going to do (look for a code) and call before doing more. They pointed to a tiny sign behind the desk that says they are allowed to do this…I only saw some kids running it now. Treated me like I was bother them when I got there, so I had a bad vibe from the beginning. I don’t think the owners are on the premises so the kids in there just don’t want to work. I’d stay away.EDIT:They responded to my comment below. Again, they didnt listen to me. First, I dont mind paying for a service. Usually I get a call if the diagnosis is going to be more time than about $50 of work because it is going to be pricey. They billed me $160 for nothing.Second, I came in and told them I didnt need them to look at what I had called about earlier in the day because it was working now but I still wanted them to look at the shocks and frontend alignment since I took time for the appointment. He said he could see if the original issue threw a code but theyd look at the shocks. They didnt write any of this down, and Im getting billed for stuff I didnt ask for.Third, yall didnt spend two hours diagnosing my car. You told me youd hook it up to a machine to see if it coded. You even told me you couldnt do anything other than that because it started working again. Either you billed me 2 hours of work for seeing a code or you did something to my car you didnt tell me youd do. Either way, that is dishonest or yall werent noting what I was telling you when I came in/when I called.Am I the one who wants something for nothing here? Thats a pretty hostile way to respond to a criticism. I work and dont have time or money to waste. Yall treating customers like money trees is entitled. Work for my business. Thats all I ask.From your response, I guess you think I should feel lucky yall didnt decide to bill me for the 24 hrs you held my car...There is no upper limit on how much you are goin to bill and you dont tell customers what youre doing.TLDR: They dont listen and dont do what they say they will. Theyll leave you with the bill for things you dont want and wont talk to you about what theyre doing. Avoid these guys.

I recently purchased a 2008 Sprinter Van from American Truck Depot and my experience was perfect. Upon delivery of my vehicle there was a problem with shifting. They told me they would take it back to Tallahassee and have it repaired and call when the repairs were completed to see if I still wanted the vehicle. They honored their original price and delivered it to me again. It has been trouble free ever since.
