Couldnt Be Happier with our experience at Fireplace Superstore! Our salesman, Mike Goode, is very knowledgeable and helpful. There was no sales pressure. The quality and workmanship of the Catalina outdoor furniture and Frankford umbrellas is superb! They kept us updated on items we ordered and were happy to warehouse our purchases until our construction project was complete. The office staff arranged for a prompt and careful delivery by a nice young man and lady.
Wonderful shopping experience. Rod our salesperson was super helpful finding the patio furniture that fit our deck and our style choices. We had been all over town and Fireplace Superstore had by far the best selection and the best prices.
Im a bit dumbfounded at the comments talking about how helpful the staff is here. My salesperson, an older man, didnt seem to want to help at all. Im dressed for gardening but in a store where they sell patio furniture and fire pits that shouldnt matter so Im not sure why I didnt get the help I wanted when I had questions about outdoor fire pits..? Were ready to buy... like now. I told him I needed to be educated about whats out there. He just stood where he was and pointed and told me how long it takes if I dont buy one thats on hand. Weird. I guess thats why everyone is buying online anymore. If you dont get the help you need locally, why support local?
When i walked in an older gentleman met me at the door to offered his help. i had barely described the damper system of my fireplace when he immediately idd the whole system and gave me advice on how to accomplish my goals with the box. he didnt even try to sell me anything, just told me how to fix my existing unit. you guys have earned my future business for life because of this guy.A+

This may be expensive furniture in the short run, but is quality that will last! Our first patio set lasted 15 years and our new set is great. Looking at a patio couch now. They will also work with you on delivery.

Just went in to find information about wood burning stoves. The salesman had to be one of the most negative people Ive ever met. It was apparent he didnt really want to be working with us. We will take our business elsewhere. If they didnt sell patio furniture, they might not be in business. Not a super store
Sales process was very good. No pressure. Just good information that helped make our decision. They were prompt in coming out to take the measurements. It took eight weeks for the order to be completed before installation could be done. The fireplace has now been installed. Installation went well. Installers were prompt, courteous, professional, and skilled. Gave us a thorough explanation of the operation of the unit. Took about 5 hours to install and the installers left area very clean. The finished installed unit looks great. We are very satisfied. Ron
We were most dissatisfied with the service from this place and had the most dissatisfying experience with our dealing with them. The sales people and the installation people do not give the right information to the customer and we felt cheated they way they dealt with us. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I give them ZERO rating.
So sick of them dragging their feet to resolve a warranty issue and when they FINALLY get the new piece..its THE WRONG ONE! now the process begins again. The owner could honestly care less. After this is taken care of we will never give them our service again. Its a shame! I dealt with this same time last year. Absolutely ridiculous! Spent thousands upon thousands! Rude staff and an owner that could care less! I know procedure has to be followed. But explaining that would be helpful.
I purchased a fireplace three years ago from their old location. I went ahead and demoed my old fireplace and installed the new unit myself. But could not figure out how to properly attach the flue vent for the fireplace. I went out to the store to see if they could send someone out. The owner overheard the conversation and promptly sent someone out to install the vent. For about two years, I could not figure out why the flames of my linear style fireplace would always badly flicker with the wind (on windy days). When I got a chance to get out to the store, they again promptly sent a tech to my home. Apparently, I didnt install the glass front to the fireplace correctly and left a gap for air to get through. The tech reinstalled it for me, and said no charge. I appreciate the taking care of the customer even though I had the fireplace for two years. I definitely would recommend them!
Huge showroom to walk around and test what will work best. The staff is knowledgeable and very nice, not high pressured. We were impressed with their selection, as they have everything from patio furniture to indoor fireplaces. If interested in a fireplace, make sure you book in advance - these guys schedule at least 3-5 weeks out during the cool months, but are worth the wait.
This is not a review of the products offered at this business.My experience with an employee was devastating. During a remodel, I visited the FP Superstore to look at replacement doors for our old 80’s style door. I struggled to make any progress with the employee as they were convinced I couldn’t afford what they offered. I admit I wasn’t dressed to the nines, but perhaps judging customers before knowing what they could afford was premature, offensive and simply wrong. I feel for whoever owns this business as their reputation is only as good as the employees who represent them.
This was by far the worst business Ive had to deal with. I put my down-payment of thousands of dollars down, had someone come out and look at our current fireplace, I take off work to convenience them and they cancel on me the day of. When they finally come out, they tell me that I have to get it cleaned before anything else and thats something they dont do, so I spend $150 more to hire a DIFFERENT company to come out and clean it and he takes ONE look at it and tells me I have to remove the brick and they cant even clean it- something that you would THINK a professional would know. Do NOT do business here as you will go round and round. You would think a company that youre throwing thousands of dollars at would take better care of you, but no.

Horribly rude customer service. We took in a small group of well behaved adults with special needs, as the staff had never been in the store and was curious to look around. We were not greeted once and I’ll add that the store was empty except for one other couple walking around. Instead an older man who was working was intensely staring at us the entire time. He even moved forward and was leaning over a chair to stair at us more. My coworker pointed it out and I looked at him and he harshly turned because I caught him and started staring back at him. We felt so uncomfortable that we had to leave after only looking through For five mins. People with special needs are not circus animals as he seemed to treat them. Most little kids we come across in the community show more respect than he did. The employees here need to take some courses on basic human decency. If you are disabled and in a wheel chair do not bother coming to this store because there is not an automatic door opener and they will probably just stand inside and stair at you too instead of helping you get inside.Edit- now that I no longer work for the company I did at the time I can FINALLY write this. This company had the audacity to figure out who I worked for and contacted them because of my review. They had them make my boss confront me about this reveiw and tell me they wanted me to take it down because it makes their company look bad! (My boss thought it was super weird too by the way.)Absolutely disgusting behavior. Trying to get me in trouble with my job which they couldn’t do because of a PERSONAL REVEIW my friends and I put together to share our experience of Something that happened While we happened to be on the job. I still can’t believe it all this time later.
We received a call that our furniture was there and ready for us to pick up. Drove 20 minutes to get there and it was not our furniture. Not very happy!
Wonderful fireplace that was installed 11 years ago. Had questions two or three times They were able to answer these questions immediately.

Went round and round with them to no avail other than legal action. We would never recommend this company. Buyer beware.

Cant believe how bad their customer service is for a locally owned business. Bought a new Weber Grill from them. They charged us $50 for delivery and were supposed to call when they were on their way to our house. Instead they showed up, dropped off the grill, and took off before we could get there WITHOUT hooking it up and testing that it worked. Since we have a natural gas line, we now have to go to another store to get a fitting to connect the hose to our gas line because they refuse to come back out to finish the job. Exact words were, We dont make any money on delivering. Really?!? Not impressed! Recommend you go with a different authorized Weber dealer. Dont waste your time here...more likely to be frustrated than satisfied...

Installed my fireplace took months and still I cant turn it on after $3500 later. No continuity with personnel there. Ive dealt with 6 different people. After weeks and now months of calling them to finish their job they will not complete their work. Now they say I have to tear up all my brick around the FP for them to turn it on, since they believe my framing is not proper even though they arent sure. Would have been great to hear this news months ago. I was told to read the manual. I wasnt told this was a requirement when purchasing. The first 20 pages of the manual state to hire a certified personnel to install it. Its becoming a nightmare. Costumer Service is the worst Ive dealt with in years. They are full of excuses and are not responsible for any of their work. Buyer beware

Weve been coming to the Ames/WDM area for fours years visiting our daughter as a student and now as a member of the DesMoines business community and always look for interesting places to shop, sometimes only for ideas. In any event, Fireplace Superstore caught our eye in March and we made a U-turn and stopped in to look around at their very inviting store. Please remember, we had nothing on a shopping list whatsoever, however upon entering the store, we were stunned (greatly impressed) with everything on their floor. We were approached by a very nice lady offering assistance but we declined as we simply stated we were not looking for anything, just looking around.We have a very nice enclosed porch adjoining our family room and deck and while it shows pretty nice, some members of our family (canines) have taken liberties with our furniture. Immediately, our minds are thinking upgrade. In a matter of minutes, we were calling out to each other, look at this, look at that.Cecilia reappeared and began offering suggestions and options and in short order the whole thing came together. Understand, we are an older couple and control freaks. We know what we like and what we dont like. When spending any sum of money, we want to end up with something we are really proud of and Cecilia made it happen, every step of the way. It was as if she knew our home, our tastes and she brought it all together flawlessly. As we moved to pricing, upholstery and cushion details, she kept going forward with great communication as well as decorating ideas. She was at the top of her game when it came to swatches and tying it all together.This wasnt done in just one visit, but as a retired sales representative, I can attest to the superb attention to detail Fireplace Superstore and especially Cecilia provided us, her professionalism, knowledge and experience made us feel the grouping we were purchasing was going to give us pleasure in ownership and longevity.We have our new furniture in our possession and love it. I know if we ever have an issue related to our purchase, Fireplace Superstore will be there for us. After having learned the name of the manufacturer, Im sure we could have purchased the same goods closer to home. But there is no doubt in our minds the purchase experience could not have been as good as what we experienced here.
