Needed a Hitch installed. Was expecting to have one ordered then have to set up an appointment to have it installed. The manager was incredibly helpful. They actually had it in stock. Then she told me they could install it while I waited. The entire process only took about 45 minutes. Incredible customer service.
Really bad customer service, provides you broken trucks knowingly! And when you ask to replace it they basically tell you no, and you cant do nothing about it. I didnt like how i was treated either when i came back to drop off the vehicle.
I was in on Thursday and Mason helped me. He was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. This is the second time I have used Town Center and both times they have been great. They are a one stop for all moving and storage needs. I will not go anywhere else.
AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTSIve rented trailers here numerous times. Today was the worst experience Ive ever had at this location. The older heavy set gentleman that refills the propane has no customer service skills whatever and yelled at me to move my vehicle as I was waiting to have a trailer hooked up. When I returned the trailer I sat for 25 min when no one came out to unhook it in accordance with their posted signs. If youre on a schedule or expect timely service this is not the place for you.
The big red head was extremely rude! I paid $1000 for a truck and they sent me to 3 different locations to get my $100 deposit back. Very unprofessional and I will never use or recommend uhaul for anything!
This location has terrible reviews, so I didnt expect anything even average out these guys. Just needed a box truck for the day and they are close by so easy enough I thought.When I went in to pickup the truck I was helped by a guy with Owner on his name tag. Not sure if he was the owner because this guy was much less than helpful. He is basically just going through the motions to get the transaction done. Then just hands me a key and tells me where the truck is outside. Doesnt even leave his counter to walk out there. Doesnt explain anything at all or give basic explanations of the process.I brought the truck back that evening after they were closed, parked it and dropped the key in the drop box. Got a $20 charge for After Hours Service. What?Called and they said since I didnt check in the truck using my phone there is an additional fee. I told the guy Id most likely be back after closing. Would have been useful info. They said I should have read it in my contract.Just another example of a company saying they care about customer service and strive for excellence, but in reality do not.
Poor poor customer service, I have to wait for a dmv appt. to renew my license showed paperwork for it. Yet I’ve rented 2 trailers with expired license. The time that I show my dmv appt now I can’t rent a trailer. The guy with red hair and beard needs to lose his job for his attitude. I asked for a simple explanation and he started to get mouthy! Do not rent from them!

I probably would have given this place one star if the owner hadn’t stepped in and saved the day. We showed up a couple minutes before closing. I hate doing this anywhere, but we had to simply turn in keys for our rental. Should have taken 30 seconds, as we had already paid and didn’t have any issues with the van.We were rudely turned away and told to use the virtual check-in - taking our own post-rental inspection pictures in the rain AND near dark, park the van 40 ft from the guy who just turned us away, and get charged an extra $20 for after-hours return.The website was glitching, and I could still see people in the building. Luckily when I went back to ask for someone, the owner answered the door and took care of us.Highly recommend hiring better help.
Pretty underwhelmed with the service. I was scheduled for a hitch install and they didn’t have all the parts on time; no-one bothered to communicate this to me. No big deal, we’ll reschedule, and I’ll call later in the week to verify that it arrived right? That wouldn’t be so bad if they would answer the phone. On the day of my reschedule, I called multiple times to verify the parts arrived... no answer- got the call center. Call center left them a message to call me back. Never happened. Ended up showing up for the appointment to be told the parts weren’t in. This was 4 days after my initial install date scheduled. I don’t fault uhaul for not getting the parts in on time- but I do think they could have communicated much better. I had to cancel my install because I needed it installed before a trip.
The lady cancelled my order for truck, I was little late, and they could have called me to make sure I was not coming. Avoid this place. Unprofessional!
Uhual has seriously gone downhill. This place is one of the reasons. Waited in line for 20 mins and the line didnt even move. One person working there with no sense of urgency. They moved my reservation here with no notice. Ended up canceling. Thanks Uhaul...
My work van broke down within a mile of the uhual . I was able to walk to pick up a new rental van with only 30+ miles .I was able to Load all my tools in and make it back to the job to finish quickly and meet AAA to tow my vehicle to the the mechanic. We didn’t skip a beat due to the help of this U Haul and had a vehicle to assist in a 24hour emergency plumbing issue for a customer later that night. This place lacks everything, from customer service to any professionalism in any sense of the word. Not to mention they are in absolutely no hurry to do anything. When it came time to pick up our truck we reserved they couldnt even acknowledge our presence in the building. Which goes without saying they could care less if youre even there at all to do business. Reservations mean nothing. Guy answered phones while half heartedly attwnding to business in front of him. Yet all he did was put people on hold. Yet Everytime he picked up the phone it set him back 10 minutes. How this place has managed to stay in business is a mystery. Do yourself a favor and spend a couple bucks somewhere else.

This place has always been great for our needs. And we use them often. The unfortunate part of online reviews - people that are unhappy tend to write these reviews too often - however, I too was lazy in giving them the proper kudos for what they have done for me. Dont believe a total average review number - it is swayed. Many ore happy people have used this service than those that have given less than honorable reviews. Great place!! Great service!!
It is sad to say I can’t recommend this location. Joe the manager and Phill the associate don’t really seem to have a grasp on how U-Haul operates. I made a reservation online and opted for the express check-in. Upon arrival they had no idea what an express check-in was and proceeded to create a reservation that I already had created. Additionally they wanted to charge me more than my reservation was quoted and mentioned that I had to have a coverage on the trailer. I reminded him that the option was to reimburse you half immediately he didn’t seem to except that as an answer. They were many other issues as well too long to explain here.Needless to say I will not be returning to this location ever
Better than any of their competitors, hands down. I needed service and the staff went way beyond what I expected. I highly recommend them to anyone needing a hitch installed or needing to rent a truck. Awesome!! They dont pay these guys enough for the work they do and the service they provide.
Went here to pick up a trailer for a cross country move and Walt was super rude. So glad this is the first and last time we have to deal with this place.
This location is terribly unorganized and slow. I made an online reservation and checked online for a quicker checkin, when I asked an associate he wouldn’t answer me and took the next person in line after looking at my phone and seeing I was confirmed as checked in. I waited in line for an hour on Saturday morning. If I didn’t need the truck today I would’ve cancelled my reservation. They’re sorely understaffed. I WILL NOT come to this location again.
Never actually saw the truck or inspected it with me before I left. I just signed paperwork.(However the lady that did my rental was really nice) Truck wasnt at the gas level that was printed but I didnt notice till I pulled off. Left 100 deposit returned the truck late trying to charge card an additional 66 dollars!
The manager was rude and actually appeared to be enjoying the fact that I was having difficulties with his store and U-Haul. My experience mirrors many of the other complaints in this review section. I was surprised and shocked to be treated that way at U-Haul and would never treat my customers that way. Went to BUDGET rental.NO PROBLEMS THERE!
Excellent service. Larry manages this place with a clean and tidy facility. The staff were very patient when the computer system kept freezing. I would most definately rent from here again. I rented an auto transport.

Called in advance for a inspection on a 29 ft triple axle trailer for my boat. No waiting line I was told on the phone, bring it down. What luck! Get there and the line is a mile long to check in at the counter so I ask about the inspection from a worker outside. We dont do inspections I was told!!! After all the work in hitching up and towing a 10,000 lb boat down there! Will never, ever, ever to there again!
They strapped the trailer hitch wiring harness to the outside of my gas tank so when it shorted out and caught fire it could have gone much worse beyond disabling my power steering and lights. Now Im in Texas and have to find a Uhaul to cover the warranty replacement even though they didnt muck it up.
The guy at the counter was extremely rude to my husband. Told him to have the truck back by 630. my husband thought they closed at 7, to which they guy replied “yeah but some guy brought his back yesterday at 6:50pm and we had to stay here 40-minutes pass. Ok? I get it I have worked customer service as well and I completely understand the want to go home on time. BUT ITS YOUR JOB!!!! If you don’t like it QUIT!!!! Or maybe talk to your headquarters about closing early I don’t know! But regardless to tell my husband at 6:52 you barely made it and you have a line was extremely unprofessional && you clearly need an attitude adjustment. How management allows this, is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!
Worst experience I have ever had with the rental place. The staff was very rude. And they did nothing to try and help when they made a screwup on their end. I would not waste my money with this trash
Checking in was pleasant, returning the vehicle was not. The woman was rude, I had called a couple hours before I had to return the rental asking to extend the rental time, I was told sure, no problem. 2 hrs later I get a call from this woman saying she needs the truck back now, she doesnt care about the notes another employee left. Told her the truck was full of things, cant return it at this moment. At 7 pm when we returned the truck, we sat in the designated space, watch the 2 employees inside, guess she was mad enough about us not meeting her demands, she never greeted us, I watched her and her co-worker walk out the door and leave. So I got charged double because the staff is a spiteful termagant.
Awful. Each time I have visited this U-Haul I have been greeted with rude and unhelpful employees. We booked and payed for a truck for 4 days, and when we showed up to pick up the truck they informed us that the truck was no longer available for us to take because someone took it first... um... what??? Never communicated that was the rule, and what a stupid rule.Save your time and money. Don’t go to this location.
Needed to have a trailer hitch installed. Booked over the phone, paid deposit in advance and arrived on time for appointment. Spent one hour as they looked for the part that was supposed to be there. It was not there.Was told that it would be ordered and that I would be called.They did not call all week. I called the shop three times and was finally told that I would get a call back. That never happened.I called the regional manager to file a complaint. I called back the next week and was told that the part was there. My wife went in to have it finally installed. Took three hours.While sitting there waiting she watched as four other customers we fed the same BS that we were told.This place has a serious communications issue and is not well run. I advise that you find somewhere else to spend your money.
The owner of this location is ridiculous please everybody do not rent from this location!!! The guy throws around his authority and ownership as if hes God. He thinks he can just cancel orders whenever he wants to and doesnt care what you have going on. He doesnt care that youre trying to move your entire family hell cancel your order as soon as you walk through the door and give it to someone else! Even though you set your preferred communication method to be text message they will still call you and then theyll complain that you never respond and cancel your order! Please go somewhere else go to Greenbrier if you need anything to rent!

The man at the counter was incredibly rude to me and spoke to me like I was an idiot and kept glancing at my boyfriend, maybe he thought he was running this operation. False it was me. My first time moving and renting a uhaul on my own and he answered my questions with short answers and attitude. Asked him about the price difference on the screen compared to the card reader and all he said was “its if you paid in cash.” Alright Thanks? Asked him if it was okay for my boyfriend to drive the Uhaul and he said with an attitude that “anyone can drive it.” Gave me short, sass filled answers to my simple questions about dropping off the Uhaul and what exactly I had to do. Which he didn’t tell me, I had to check with my Uhaul account to know exactly what to do.Over heard another customer asking for a new storage unit because he had roaches infesting his. The guy who was helping me gave his coworker an attitude when she tried asking for advice on the situation. I say let the roaches carry this man to the dump where he belongs.His directions to where we could find our rental in the lot were about as useful as finding a good guy at PeaBodys on college night in July. He saw us wandering around the lot because, would you believe!? We couldn’t find our rental! We walked back inside and he came stomping at us pointing his grubby fingers at us like we were a wild pack of dogs on his property, with a scowl on his face, giving us yet again poor directions where to find this ten foot van hidden in a lot of the 30 footers. Never going here again. May the roaches overrule this Uhaul site. They would run it better than him.Go to the one on Greenbrier, the service there is much better and super friendly. Answered my rental questions and gave me a quote on what would be my best options. Sadly they didn’t have the size truck I needed, and that’s how I ended up on the Blvd. unfortunately.
Terrible experience. Joe, the general manager, is a horrible person. Not only was he VERY rude to me, he also thought it would be cute to make sexist jokes about women who have had accidents on the property. I rented from BUDGET at 500 newtown road. Got a 12 truck for $26. You wont be able to do that at UHAUL. GO TO BUDGET!

Awful customer service, poor communication skills amongst their team members, and the customer is the one that suffers and is held liable because of it. This was my first time using uhaul and I was treated despicably.
Staff was generally disgruntled/unhappy to be there. Was given a hard sell by lying about what my insurance would and would not cover. After discussing this morning with my car insurance agent, I found what I suspected to be true; my insurance DOES cover the rental truck. Staff was also rude to friend who dropped me off and picked me up from this rental location. I will not be back to this location, and Im re-evaluating other options/competitors for future moves.
Very straight forward and helpful, didnt waste my time at all. Even though it was busy, we were never forgotten. Didnt charge me more than necessary for the job that had to get done.

Pretty poor customer service. I was charged for using the moving blankets even though they were still sealed in the original plastic. When I called about this charge, he said he could take it off but then would charge me even more for a cleaning fee; I left it very clean and a cleaning fee wasnt originally warrented. Not impressed, and have already went out of my way to use another location instead.
Hidden fees. I will never use their services ever again. FYI be upfront with your business and your ratings just might go up. Sad
I rented a 14 truck from here yesterday. It started well and ended badly. I brought the truck back and I was charged another $15 and when I asked why, the gentleman said it was extra mileage. I look at my receipt and found out I was charged for a dolly rental I didnt even do. Tried to dispute with no avail. As convenient as the curbside check in was, Ill advise you to look at your online receipt before you even leave there.
Went to just rent a dolly and they were the bomb! Very nice and fast,have rented trucks from them many times in the past always have had good luck dear very professional and very nice and easy to deal with I will recommend this place to everybody that asked and will always be back here even though it is not the closest one to my house

This is twice in a month that Uhaul has not provided the equipment or upheld there end of a reservation. On 2 separate occasions I had made reservations to rent a trailer.On both occasions they rerouted me to the woodlake location the morning of rental.Being a nationwide company.You would think they would know where there equipment would be.You can bet your butt if you were late in retur ing it. They would know how to find your credit card information and bill you.Will never use them again

Ordered a UHAUL 26 foot truck a week ago and got a confiration and guarantee that the truck would be available. The night before my move I got a call stating the there was no truck available. Zero customer service and of course this is my problem not theirs. I was given 2 options for truck as different locations but they arent near me and uhaul charges by the mile. Pretty convenient for the company to be able to charge me more money. This is really the last thing I expected to go wrong after a 7 month deployment since we seem so much more competent than 3rd world countries. Apparently not.

Needed a truck for the day to move stuff from the storage unit to the new house. Was able to book the truck, go inside and drive back out and on my way within an hour. No shenanigans like I was afraid of such as damage or mileage disagreements. Had the truck back by 8pm and it made my transition a breeze. I will be using this uhaul location in the future.
Worse Customer service ever. Let me just copy and past my complaint to the BBB.I had reserved 15ft truck and was given the run around about it. Eventually was given a 26ft truck for the price of the 15ft. Upon returning the truck. The gas was at 1/2 tank. The next day I received an alert from my bank that Uhual tried to charge $28 to my card and was not sucuessful. I contacted the U-hual place where I dropped the truck off the night before. The gentleman said it was at he was going check to see if the needle was at any other place than 3/8 and that he would call and if it was at 1/2 he would NOT call me. I called a couple of hours later just to confirm. I spoke with Joe. He stated that the truck was returned less than half a tank. I informed him I had a picture of what the tank was when I dropped the truck off. He proceed to yell and tell me I can come look at the truck. I inform him good luck with getting that $28 from my debit card because the card number had changed. I contacted customer service and opened up an action file. Joe responded to the action file stating that gas was at 3/8. I was transferred to Regina the regional manager. She was going to escalate this matter to joes supervisor. I called a week later and was given the number to a traffic agent.
This was by far the worst experience Ive ever encountered. My elderly mother rented a truck this past Saturday July 30, 2016. After completing all paperwork and money my mother came outside and states its the truck with the volcano on the side, there were at a minimum of six trucks outside. I was some what confused as Ive rented plenty of uhaul trucks previously and someone always brings the truck to the front of the building, and complete a walk through as well as confirm the gas and mileage. So I went in, and was assisted my a very friendly young girl who was apologetic and had someone pull the truck around. While inside waiting the friendly customer service representative says to Larry (who I later found out was the owner) why didnt you get the truck for Ms. Freeman? His response was I told her where it was and she said ok, he then went on to say he did his job. I was outraged, so I asked if was not customary to pull the truck to the front and inspect for damage, gad, and mileage. Due to my mother purchasing insurance through u hale they said it was not customary as it did not matter if there was any previous damage because the insurance would cover any and all damage. I was at a list for words Ive never experienced anything like this before I certainly felt as though my elderly mother had been taken advantage of. By this time the truck was pulled to the front the gas tank was not full as it stated on the contract. The young man who pulled the truck up said nothing, he acted as if he did not hear me. It was 100 degrees that day and raining it was horrible. When we returned the truck the friendly young customer service representative was not there in her place was a very rude in professional woman, who refused to even give me her name. She said I was not the customer and she didnt have to talk to me. They charged my mother $25 due to the tank not being full when the truck was returned. As most elderly people my mother is on a fixed income and though she work hard her entire life and raised and supported her children she is at time unable to even afford her medication. By this point I am livid the women actually told my mother she was not giving her back what ever potion of her deposit she was entitled to and she could blame me, so again I ask what is your name instead of telling me her name she asked me what was my name. I did briefly lose control I raid my voice and slammed my hand on the counter 😣 and asked what happened to customer service. At this time she tells me to get out I ask for a manager she again tells my mother she is not giving her any money. She says the manager will be in the following day and she can get her money then. After that my voice certainly went up another octave. I advised her I wasnt going anywhere until my mother received her money back. This woman said well you can sit in the air condition for as long as you want. My mind is once again blown. This is when I found out Larrys the owner he tells me to get out as well by this time my mother is in tears explaining she doesnt try anymore and can not come back the next day. Larry gets closer to me and is yelling in my face telling me he is going to calls the cops I told him to do it as Ive done bother wrong, and was not leaving for them to continue to take advantage of my elderly mother. I ask Larry if he was the manager he tells me he is the owner. I asked how he could just stand there and allow his employee to be so rude and disrespectful? He again tells me to get out and Im on camera, he points to the camera so I smile and wave at the camera. I did eventually leave and my mother received about $22 from her $100 deposits. This location has ruined it for my family we will never use uhaul again

Weve been there once and had good experience until today. We reserved a van on phone, and when we got there the girl already have the reserve key ready but after she check in the computer, weve been told that someone reserve it online and she only put my reservation on note around the same time. Well, so shouldnt it be first come first serve? And you telling me you put my reservation on note? Thats your mistake and you asked me to go somewhere to pick up another van? Will not go back anymore.

Moved to columbus, OH 4 months ago, rented a budget truck which was trashed and expensive, underpowered and terrible on gas. Decided ohio wasnt for me, rented with uhaul on the way back, customer service with uhaul was top notch both in Ohio and Virginia, and this store inparticular was great, helped me get a storage unit set up and return my truck to them although i had it scheduled for a return elsewhere, highly recommend this uhaul location.
Very helpful with installing a trailer hitch and hooking me up with a trailer. However, the rear of my car has been making a loud vibrating noise since then.
I went to this location and rented a cargo van. drove 14 miles, and filled it up with 3.25 gallons of gas. now doing the math on that, that is less than 5 mpg. now this cargo van is rated at 16 mpg.i went the the older man behind the counter and told him the gas and rpm gauges are faulty; gas because the gauge didnt move at all(past full the whole time), the rpm gauge because i was driving it at 45 mph, put the transmission in neutral, and the gauge read 2000 rpm. no car/truck/van ever made in the last 20 years does that.he says he doesnt believe it, and said everything works just fine on it.obviously he was lying about this. if he would easily lie to me, there is no way he will be any different to anyone else.also. they do not give any military discounts, BUT they will have no problem holding a military ID for a reservation. i know this because it is clearly written on the counter.and they will keep the motor running with the a/c blowing full blast to make you use more gas(you have to return it full or they charge you even more.)if you go here, just be prepared to get ripped off.

Took me over half an hour to pick up a hitch I was purchasing and had a reservation for. Will never use this location again. Saw a customer behind me lean up against a box stack and fall asleep.
