Such beautiful tiny little cafe!! Very artistic. They have a great selection and good amount of seating extending into an art supply store. The little cafe is built in to an elevator of the loft building and uses a beautiful golden vintage coffee machine. The server was very nice and kind .

Usually not too busy (but is sometimes), but just an overall chill vibe to work or hang out. The menu is definitely not your typical Starbucks over-sweetened everything, but a more authentic, sophisticated menu with lots of tea options. They also have some scones and cookies and other small food items for sale. They share a space with Paper Crown, a super cute craft store that is great to go walk around in when you need a break or to shop in. Overall, I love this coffee shop for studying and its overall vibe!

Wonderful place! Very small, yet cozy. They are dog-friendly. You go in to order, and you may sit outside. ♥️ An expresso bar that also roasts their own beans, and has great tea choices including traditional & seasonal choices (summer peach is amazing). They also have hot & iced options for tea and coffee. Live music from time to time.

It was much smaller than what I was anticipating, but I liked it that way. The people there were very welcoming and hosted us well - they acted like we were wanted there (unfortunately I can’t say that about every company) 👍🏻👍🏻The coffee was great👌🏼 and not badly priced either. I got their Americano and it was bold, smooth, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Great job on the roasting of your beans by the way @BRÛ!One more thing 🤪 Management is great! They have some really great people on their team and have an amazing mission and vision, definitely something you’ll want to support.

(fair warning, i use to work here. as such, i waited about a year from my employment to post this review)i love the attention to detail that the employees will put into the drinks and how much they care about each customer.the pseudo-european aesthetic is what originally brought me to trying them out and i love the atmosphere they have, the seats are not the most comfortable for long stays though.a big plus is having bike racks though!

Visited here a couple of weeks ago. I checked the requirements on Google prior to driving here. It is not listed on here that masks are required. There is a sign on the door but the door is also a part of a larger building and is not clear which business it it pertains to. There was one customer in the shop ahead of me. When it was my turn to order, no one other than the barista, myself, my daughter and sister in law were in the shop. The barista asked if I had a mask, I told her no I do not. She asked me to put one on from a box of cloth masks that they have there. First off, the mandate was lifted. Secondly they should really have this information listed so that a customer can know ahead of time. Third, if theyre so concerned for their workers or customers safety they should offer medical masks from a concealed box, not cloth masks from open box that have possibly been used and not washed or have dust on them from sitting there exposed. They can claim all they want that theyre washed but how can a customer trust that they are and people have allergies to certain detergents as well. When I expressed that I wouldnt use their cloth mask the barista just stared at me blankly. I said, okay, I guess we are leaving then? The barista then said, yeah. So I left there and took my business to the Magnolia Press Coffee Company which by the way didnt force masks on anyone, people gave their 6 feet of space and the coffee was great! I highly recommend going there instead.

One of the best coffee places Ive visited in Texas so far. Great customer service, friendly staff, and nice coffee shop. A very unique coffee shop that reminds me of Italy with marble walls by the entrance, and the old elevator is an interesting element additional to their decor. Absolutely relaxing atmosphere with good vibes. The menu is so accommodating especially to dairy free people like me. Ordered cappuccino with oat milk and it was delicious, cannot wait to try their earthy selection of teas. Parking can be a challenge so be aware but there is plenty of parking on the side of the road with accessible wheelchair parking spots as well. If you havent tried them, dont hesitate because you wont be disappointed. Great gem, great find, cute coffee shop in Waco.

Cute little coffee place shared with a cute craft store. I had Breve coffee. It was very good. If you like creamy with a fluff, this is it. You can taste the Little sweetness from the cream. If you want good coffee with natural non sweet coffee, try this place. Also you can look and shop nicely done craft shop too. Very unique store.

BRU is a good downtown coffee shop. You can get some interesting creations that the national chains dont have. But its a strange place because they produce ONE (1) (exactly one) drink at a time. So if you show up in a group, everyone gets served at a different time. Even if you show up as a party of one, youre gonna wait. S-L-O-W service (not because they re slow, but because their machine only lets them pull one shot of espresso at a time). The space itself is very loud because the room generates an echo. The noise can be deafening. Some people might light that. Others might prefer a more relaxing environment. If youre just dying for a cup of coffee and you happen to be nearby, BRU is probably a better choice than the national chains. But if youre looking for fast service and a relaxing atmosphere, youll probably be happier if you choose a different coffee shop.

With a timeless ambiance and friendly service, Bru is the perfect place to settle in and just hash out whatever work you need done. This is a unique little shop as the entirety of the coffee shop is located in the elevator shaft of the Pretorian lofts in down town. But the lobby and the interior of the first floor serve as the coffee shop lounge where there are plenty of tables and outlets to work with. The ambiance is perfect for those that need to study and the coffee is good although I prefer the chocolate drinks. ☕

I love this place! For healthy freshly roasted coffee (that part is really important bc if its not freshly roasted it goes rancid and loses most antioxidants) and organic heavy cream which they are very generous with 😁😀 everyone is always super nice. Make sure you know what youre getting if you dont know traditional espressos, some of them are in teeny thumb sized cups! Its always slow and has a beautiful atmosphere and a good walk downtown.

I used to come here almost every day to get an iced coffee when I lived downtown. The space is small, but I always got my coffee to go. The quality of the coffee is very good and each one is made with care. The baristas are knowledgeable and I never wait long to order or to receive my drink. Bru is a great place to stop by if youre hanging out downtown and want a great, basic coffee. They do not make fancy sparkly drinks that you post on Instagram, but you will get a good quality product that a true coffee enthusiast will enjoy.

(9/7/21 - A short disclaimer - I come here multiple times a week for a coffee-d up work experience and have been doing so for the past year.) Its a great little coffeeshop in an interesting old building. The coffeeshop has been pieced together from a front entryway, an abandoned elevator shaft, and half of a retail space shared by a crafts/art store. It sounds a bit goofy but it works really well; high ceilings, good ambiance, a ton of natural light. Its a cozy place to meet up or get some work done. And, the coffee is solid. I usually get the breve which none of the other shops offer (Correction 9/7/27: most of the other coffeeshops will make a breve for you, but few put them on their menu). And, while drink size can be a little inconsistent, its very tasty. A reviewer or two has made mention of how loud it can get - this may be true, but its certainly quieter than both local establishments Dichotomy--half the space is a bar--and Pinewood--a perpetual hipster vinyl block party. My only real complaint is regarding the uncomfortable chairs - theyre all light, wooden, patio type folding chairs which get uncomfortable quickly. (Ive fixed this by bringing my own seat pad) However, as opposed to a couple other coffee shops in Waco, Ive never had a problem getting seating. A great little shop.

Often in college towns there are food/coffee establishments that gain a following not based on quality, but based on the “cool factor”. BRU is just that. “Cool” hip little building, “cool” olde time espresso machine, “cool” branding, MEH COFFEE...The environment is a quaint rustic revitalized building that I would expect only to find in Waco. But the coffee was painfully unimpressive. The cappuccino texture and taste was sloppy at best. I much prefer a more skilled roast and brew at other local establishments. Roasting beans WELL is a science. Just because you open up a coffee establishment doesn’t mean you should roast your own beans. This is holding them back, IMO.If you’re a college student who just wants a caffeine kick with a place to study, then I’m sure this is a fine establishment for you. If you like to visit specialty coffee shops around the state, this will be a letdown.
