I am writing this review 30 days from the purchase date of a Mercedes purchased at Sphinx Motorcars. I waited 30 days to get to know the car. I can honestly say it was the best experience Ive ever had purchasing a vehicle. From the first call to the final sale the process was customer first. This is also the first time buying a car directly off the Web so I was a little apprehensive, however, after talking with the folks at Sphinx Motorcars I felt at ease with conducting the transaction. The staff at Sphinx Motorcars personally delivered the vehicle to Pennsylvania for a reasonable fee. This was the first time seeing the car in person. The car was exactly as described and in excellent condition. A few days after buying the car I received a call asking if I was pleased with the car and transaction? Again customer centric and willing to please. The best recommendation is to say, I would buy another car from Sphinx Motorcars in the future.

I was interested in purchasing a car from the dealership, it was a great deal after all. When I contacted the dealer to make sure that the vehicle was still available they responded quickly and told me that it was. I asked them if they still delivered for the price that was noted on cargurus and they said yes to give them a call so they could tell me how it worked. The person that answered the phone stated that I would have to put down a down payment on the car and then he would send me paperwork to fill out. I was perfectly OK with that, as that tends to be common practice. He said after the paperwork was filled out and processed that we would have to send him an OVERNIGHT cashiers check for the remaining balance before he would release the car and bring it to us. This is completely unheard of & I most certainly 1) would never pay for a car in full before I had even looked at it or test drive it 2) Over nighting cash to anybody is beyond sketchy & an absolute no-no. I have never had issues with other dealerships delivering to my front door, letting me try the car & paying in full at that moment. Something is most definitely up with this dealership.

I dont usually write reviews but I was so impressed my newest vehicle purchase i had to write something. The vehicles here are in great condition. There is a huge selection to choose from, they definitely have something for everyone. I have a big family so purchased an suv with 3 rows, my vehicle was handed over super clean, drives like a dream and I couldnt be happier with it. All the workers here are friendly and attentive but I have to give a special shout out to the manager Anthony and my sales guy Leo. I will be back for sure.

Horrible service. Sold me a lemon. When I tried to fight it in court they hired a good lawyer and fought the case. It’s now 6 months later and I’m still paying for there careless behavior and the car stopped working a week into owning it. They live off scamming people. I’d advise going anywhere else . I just recently purchased a 2008 Audi A4 S-line here car is in great shape and I found it in manual very hard to come across a manual Audi now a days for an affordable price, these guys saved me a ton of money and got me in the car the same day! My husband and I left a deposit on the vehicle a couple months ago knowing the policy that deposits are nonrefundable simply because they’re taking it off the Internet and holding it for you long story short we couldn’t come up with the money We came back the other day and they said you still have a credit of $500 so they applied it to another car that we purchased I thought they would keep the money but they didn’t they kept it as a store credit until we came back with the full amount thanks again Sphinx!

I found them to be very professional and easy to work with when I needed a car, especially the sales staff. They have a wide selection available so the customer can usually find what they are looking for. I got a great deal. They treated us like we were valued customers, it was obviously a teamwork environment.

I got a good car at a good price;BUT: When I picked up the car (coming from out of state) they didnt finish some of the work which we had agreed upon pre-sale (brakes and front grill replacement), and also sold me a car which could not pass inspection due to a light on the dash (this light was not on when I test drove). I was assured that this light was on due to the brakes work and it would go off while driving home. (it didn’t.)The incomplete brakes job issue I found out from my mechanic; and they were supposed to mail me a grill for me to install and its been two months and nothing has come in.All this said, I think theyre good people, they just didnt handle this particular transaction well and due to the constraint of me being in Rhode Island, it is more difficult. I’m happy to change this review with a bit of cooperation with them to at least mail me the grill which I paid for!

Sold me a 2007 q7 for 4300$ and told me there was nothing wrong with the car. But they did say there was a small exhaust leak. I drove 50 miles and the lights came on and I had to spend 3000$ to get the car to pass inspection. They are rip offs and will delete codes to sell a car n tell you its as is n u shpuld of bought a new car

Recently my uncle, Neil Porte and I went to Sphinx Motorcars and found a vehicle that he like very much. He made a small deposit on the car based on the word of a gentleman at the dealership. We told them that we would call in a few days to let them know if we still wanted the car and they mislead us to believe that everything would be ok when we follow up in a few days. The dealer said they would give him back the deposit back if he changed his mind. When he called up in three days the dealer said that the car is unavailable and that they won’t give him my money back despite our agreement. I am very disgruntled at the sub par service provided by this business and would advise others against any dealings with them in the near future. We will be contacting the better business bureau to further pursuer the matter.

This car dealership took $500 from my 19 year old daughter to hold a car for 2 hours and will not refund her money! The manager is rude and a terrible businessman! They basically ripped off an innocent girl. They should be shut down!

I have nothing but good things to say about Sphinx motors. An all around great experience with buying my used Mini Cooper S 2010. Anthony was great and their customer service is top of the line. It’s also great that they have a service shop on Premises so any issues can be corrected on site. I took my Mini Cooper home and it drove great but I did have a issue with antifreeze leak after about a week and I called them and spoke with Anthony and explained my issue. He told me to bring it back and he would take care of it. So I took it back and he said it was a Waterpump issue and he replaced the Waterpump and got the car running great again. It’s been a couple of months now and no issues. The price was great for the vehicle I bought and the vehicle was very very clean inside and out. The best experience I have ever had buying a used car. Would definitely recommend Sphinx if in the market for a quality used car. Keep in mind I live 100 miles away in NY and would travel there again when looking for another preowned car as the experience was that good. Came in for a oil change special today and they did an amazing job, they also inspected the whole vehicle and come to find out i need brakes bad, they were extremely low so i gave them the go to fix it. 20 minutes after driving off the lot almost every light on the dashboard lit up. When I first called these guys and told them they gave me a runaround on getting a part. They gave me a part that had nothing to do with the problem. Come to find out my fuel pump was shot. 1 week after I find out about the fuel pump my motor mount fell off and the engine crushed the transmission and power steering. 5200 dollars to fix so the car isn’t worth fixing. When I called the owner Anthony about these problems he said that there’s nothing he can do about it. I told him that consumer affairs was getting involved. He told me to “do what I have to do”. Needless to say do not buy from these guys. They buy messed up cars from auctions, reset the lights, and sell them for retail.

Knowing BMW last a very long time, comfortable for all the long miles I drive for work. I have had two with in excess of 220,000 miles and still run greatRecently purchased a car on line from them. Understanding first of all the car is 12 years old with 140,000 miles on it. Price reflects ageWhen asked condition I was told car passed inspection and safety. Once I recieved the car a new story began to unfoldFirst sunroof is open and will not close. Control button non functional. Investigation revealed the power supply had been disconnected at motor. When plugged in error message on dash turned on, switch still does not function. Attempt to use manual override failed as well. Contact with salesman was told they didnt notice as all they cared about was engine and drive train. Tape on glass and unplugged suggests otherwiseSecond key fob does not function. Not a big deal likely a battery would been nice to know up frontWhile reviewing vehicle functions found all memories and settings empty. This is normally an indication of dead battery, sure enough the battery was very low and required chargedTest drive and I repeat I was told all they worried about is engine and drivetrain. At 50 mph car has a noticable shake, when brakes applied shakes more and after driving just 5.8 miles the car heated up to a point steam roled from the hood. Should had known as when first started the error message for low radiator was onInspection under the hood was problematic as the hood didnt open correctly nor did the gas fill doorIf only the sales team would had been informitive up front i would likely had purchased anyway and still performed all the replacements i do with all my work cars i would had been fine instead they didnt inform me of anything and then decided the truth was to difficult in the face of clear evidence otherwise. I will share my true story with anyone as I have purchased cars from all over the country and always given all the details. In the case of sphinx its been a total different experience. In the end dont trust them they will lie to sell a car and then even when confronted will not own their failures

I bought a car here and was very dissatisfied. Many of these reviews are fake, the dealer buys them from sites like onlineboostup. Allow me to share the terrible experience I had buying a car from Sphinx . I called about a car I saw on their website. I spoke with Leo, who told me the car was still available, and ran great with no issues. He told me I could come by that afternoon to test drive it, and that if I liked it they could have it ready to go in a couple days as it just needed to go in for emissions inspection . Later that day I came by to see the car. I had to park next door at dunkin donuts as their lot was packed with cars, some with their dashboards torn out, and mismatched wheels, that were obviously being repaired and looked like they had been sitting for quite some time. There was not even room to turn around,the owners and employees were parked on the sidewalk as the lot was that full. I walked into the office and found the staff playing the xbox in their uniforms of sweatpants and sneakers. I made the mistake of not leaving then. I said I had an appointment with Leo to see the car I had called about. I was informed Leo was not there and nobody was expecting me . A staff member walked me outside to see the car where it turned out Leo was there . I overheard another staff member asking him are you sure nothing is wrong with this car? its for my father-in-law .this was rather unsettling to hear, as it gave me the impression they would sell me a car that was not good enough for an employees father-in-law . Regardless, I got in the car, which had not been cleaned since the previous owner traded it in, probably at another dealer. The car had not a drop of fuel, the range was 0 miles and the employee had me wait on the lot while he took it up the street to the gas station. I took the car for a ride, and immediately noticed a serious hesitation issue. As well as an oil light on, and a steering issue that required an alignment at the bare minimum. The car also had water in a tail light that I asked that they repair. Despite all of this, the car had decent service history and was a fair (after the $500 dealer fee+ taxes, and registration fees on top of the advertised price) . We reluctantly left a deposit, contingent on the car being ready to pickup the next Monday,with all of those repairs being made. The owner agreed to this in writing and said it would be detailed and emissions would be complete. I called back on monday, they said they were waiting on parts and the car would be ready the next day. Tuesday, I call again, cars not ready, still waiting on parts. they promised it would definetly be ready by friday. I called Friday, sure enough there is another complication, But the car would DEFINITELY be ready the following Monday. A couple more phone calls and false promises later, I was told the car would be ready the next Friday. Friday comes along and they said they would have the car done by 4 PM. When I came by to pickup the car and pay the balance due, the car had not been cleaned, there was still water in the tail light, and the engine was in pieces outside in their lot. An hour after I paced around on their lot they finally had the car back together. The deal was that if the car drove well and issues were resolved I would pay the balance and drive the car home. the acceleration issue was repaired, but of course the steering issue is still there. I asked the owner why the steering issue was not fixed. ( I didnt even bother to complain that the car was even dirtier than when they got it, or that there was still water in the taillight). He replied the steering is fine, it just needs an alignment, we arent an alignment shop . is this a joke? despite everything else, I thought the car was a good enough deal for the price, and was tired of being without a car. I knew if I pushed them to fix the other issues Id be without a car for two more weeks. I bought the car and brought it to my mechanic who said it needs about $2500 worth of repairs . Take your business elsewhere .

Best place to service your vehicle super low prices

When I was there it was fast easy service and I found the car I wanted and I found out the payment was going to be a little high so I wasn’t going to be able to do it. They knock the price down some which reduce my payments. Also my insurance was really high. It was $151 a month for full coverage and I shopped around and got it down to 138 a month. They called around for me and found me insurance for $74 a month for full coverage. So I was able to get a Honda Accord 2013. The cars are all Carfax certified. It looks brand new. It rides brand new. I was referred to them through a credit union. Imagine that. Sure enough that’s the place to go. I tried multiple other dealerships in the area and they couldn’t get me approved, I didn’t have good credit, not bad credit either just not enough credit. They referred me to the credit union and I was able to secure a loan. While I was there this other guy was pretty happy about buying a car from there as well. He bought a Toyota RAV4, pretty nice one. So I recommend them before you try the big ones. They have a great crew they stayed in touch me the entire buying time . It was all registered clean and new tires new brakes. I’m happy I’m just trying to spread the happiness thanks Sphinx Motorcars!!!

COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. I bought a 2004 bmw from this place. Right when the car was finally paid off they gave my title to someone else! That person is not on the title, nor registration. I allowed someone to borrow the car and make the payments as they went. Everything went south. The person now has my car and the title to it. THIS PLACE lied to my face when I went to ask how she got the title in the first place. They said that she probably went through my mail to get it but I know for a fact that is not true. I now came to learn from the person themselves that this dealership handed her the title. Now I have to go through police to try and get my car back. This place was very unprofessional in giving away a car title to someone that does not have a lien or co signature on it. Imagine one day you think you’re about to get your car title and then come to find out someone else has it and they refuse to give you your car back. I just got off the phone with ANTHONY. he is very disrespectful and a liar. He told me he did not give it to her but in fact he did. Just got off the phone with him and instead of trying to help he cursed me out and threatens me, hangs up the phone. As you walk in you can tell they just put the place together and call themselves a dealership. The car had so many problems not even a month after. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. NOW I HAVE A HEADACHE TO DEAL WITH AND THEY DONT CARE THAT THEY HELPED TO CAUSE IT. Do not believe all the good reviews because they were given by their friends. Even they made some themselves. It easy to make a google account and try to make yourself look good. But you know a negative review is not lying. Now I have no car, no title, no plates, have to go through police to get it back. How is it even possible or moral to give something as important as a title to someone that is not the owner. If I could leave 0 stars I would.

Ok so everyone has issues with used car dealers, theres a lot of bad apples that bring a dirty image to the field. I cant afford a new car so used is the way I shop. The guys at the shop were super attentive (of course they were, they wanted to make a sale!) and extremely patient with me since I dont know the first thing about cars.First impressions are that prices are on par for most rides, and Im sure we could have worked out a deal if I had some more in my budget.If youre worried about anything while buying from ANY store, get your promises in writing, remember its ok to say no and come back another time, and buy with your heart.

Literally my worst car buying experience ever. These are inconsiderate people with awful business knowledge. And terrible customer service. I highly recommend against anyone ever doing business with these shady people. They attempted to swindle a 16-year-old out of over $2000. If I could give anyone one piece of advice it would be to never ever do any sort of business with these men.

Came 3 hours to purchase a truck from this terrible run dealership. Was told 5 times the truck is in perfect condition and perfect running condition. Showed up the interior and exterior was destroyed. Test drove the truck and the motor almost blew up half way down the road along with the check engine light popping back on and they still expected me to purchase the truck. Very unprofessional and disappointed.

Buyers beware! I bought a car on-line through E-Bay from this dealer. In his item description, he stated that the car runs and drives great and a couple of small dings and scratches but nothing major. As well, he stated that the interior is in great shape. When I received the car through the carrier on May 20, 2018, the was far from the condition the car was in and it will cost thousands to get the car in decent shape. Furthermore, the dealer stated that the car again runs and drives great. Well, it took the carrier approximately one hour to get the car off the truck/trailer because it would not crank, and it will not crank today (5/21/2018) as I type this review. DO NOT BUY -- BEWARE!

Stay far far away from this dealer. Get in touch with some of the people who have one star reviews and see the truth. They buy from auction and next day flip to you. You have no idea what you are buying. Bought a car and to find out they didn’t have title and had to wait weeks. “We have another shop” then the car had swapped engine.

I bought a 2011 VW from these guys through eBay. Pretty disappointed with the transaction. They said the car was absolutely perfect and needed nothing. When the car arrived at my house, one of the tires was nearly flat because it had a screw in it. I couldnt change the tire though, since there was no spare. Also, the radio didnt work. It could have been extremely expensive to replace the factory radio/ 6 disc changer (and I did want to go with the factory radio so I could still utilize the steering wheel controls and handsfree/ bluetooth pairing with my phone). Luckily I was able to get a used factory radio for a couple hundred bucks and a nice spare wheel and tire for fifty bucks. When I contacted Sphinx Motorcars about the problems with the car, they said everything was fine when the car left them (as if maybe the shipper stole the spare tire and broke the radio). They also kept insisting it was probably just a blown fuse preventing the radio from working. Im pretty mechanically inclined and checked all of the fuses and could assure them that a blown fuse was not the cause of the dead radio. The rear brake pads were also worn to the point where they would have damaged the rotors very soon if I didnt replace them immediately. The car is pretty nice overall and it didnt cost me that much to get everything back in order since I hunted down good deals on the radio and spare and did all of the labor myself. It would have cost someone thousands of dollars to have these issues taken care of at the dealership. They were not sympathetic at Sphinx Motorcars and were unwilling to reimburse me for the small amount of money that I asked them for (just my cost for a used radio and spare) to get the car into the condition that they described. Also, after I won the auction, I wired the money to them the next day, yet it took two weeks for them to get the paperwork to me so I had a car just sitting in my driveway that I couldnt register, drive or do anything with without the paperwork. I wouldnt recommend doing business with them if youre not local.

Avoid at all costs! This stealership takes advantage of a disabled veteran by charging for tags, tax ect then asks veteran to register the vehicle because they don’t have the “time”. Veteran then pays for tags and tax at DMV costing 550 dollars and the stealership won’t reimburse the fees that were written up and charged on receipt. Claims they gave him cash! BEWARE!!

Run and dont buy from them sold me 05 jeep grand Cherokee and motor dropped a valve not even 6 months later and then they say they will help get parts at cost and thats all they can do well now car is still sitting in back yard while Im still paying for it worthless people to deal with RUN dont buy from there and every door handle in the inside broke which I had to come out of pocket and pay for and after a week of owning it starter went which I had to put in myself which took 4 hrs to do so and they charged an extra 1000.00 on vehicle and said it was finance company and tried to pass it off on them and I have proof

Buyers be aware!!!!! Be very cautious when buying a used car off there lot . I needed a car fast as I have 3 small children .One in a wheel chair from long battle with brain Cancer. I told them I needed a reliable car to get my children around and to get my son to Hartford for his regular MRI scans. I had the 35 days and the engine blew . But before that ... I questions the tire pressure sensor and the rear brakes .was assured the brakes were fine . They most definitely were not and needed to be replaced . The oil was filthy in the car . This dealership is blaming me for blowing the engine . Ummm NO they took advantage of a single mother with 3 kids . 8,000 was alot for a used car that is useless. Thanks alot! really un- professional service there . Also when I picked up my car . It wasnt detailed . Spend hours cleaning the interior. Oh they were nice enough to try to get me to pay 4,100 bucks for a new engine to get put in . Id never let them touch my car at this point ! ✌ DONT PURCHASE FROM THEM .

Place gave me the run around. Was supposed to take care of registration, said didn’t have time to do it. Was asked to do it. Had to pay out of pocket, so charged twice, now fighting for reimbursement. Poor management

BUYER BEWARE....Ask to go over vehicle before purchase and what warranty is offered. Two things I REGRET not having done.

I drove over 2 hours to look at a vehicle. Got to Sphinx Motorcars and after looking at the car for about 2 minutes, someone came out and said the car had just been sold. Also I was approved through their site for financing and when I was there they said they don’t do out of state financing

SO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE GUYSTHEY SOLD ME A CAR THAT THE ENTIRE UNDERNEATH THE CAR WAS ROTTED OUTALL BRAKE SYSTEMS RUSTED AND ROTTED OUT THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT . Clutch is bad and something wrong with the front end ! I’m reporting them and taking them to small claims court
