Very helpful staff who dropped whatever they were doing to change a tire. Very thankful to have this service when nobody else was open. They were very efficient and got us back on the road in a short time, which was very much appreciated since we had 4 hours left of driving late into the night.

I was visiting from 3 hours away on Memorial Day. While there, I got a flat tire. I called several places around the area and wasnt able to get any help; they were all full or short of help.Since I was able to get the spare on, my Roadside Assistance couldnt help me with the flat tire. They did, however recommend Jim Lind Tire. When they heard my situation, they said bring it in. I was able to drop the car off, they changed my tire for me, and I picked it up a while later. They were extremely busy, and they still fixed my tire for me. The employees were friendly and professional as well.On top of that, I received a postcard a few weeks later thanking me for allowing them to serve me.I would recommend this business to anyone in the Waterloo area.

I got my tires changed here this past Fall and at first had a very pleasant experience. They were doing a promotion where if you got all 4 of your tires changed you would get like $50 worth of free car washes. After I paid, I was handed my 5 carwash vouchers which dont have an expiration date listed. I recently went in to use one because I still have 3 left and my voucher was denied. The lady at the register showed me a sign that they have in front of the register that states that the vouchers are no longer accepted as of the end of May. I never get gas here so that was my first time ever seeing this sign which definitely wasnt present earlier in the year. Now I have 3 worthless vouchers that I was saving up for when my car really needed it. I feel like this was a breach of contract. No where in the promotion did it state that the vouchers would expire within less than a year and the vouchers were also very vague and had absolutely no expiration date on them. Its a shame because I really did like this place and recommended it to a lot of people for car repairs but now I unfortunately dont know if I can trust them anymore.

Took our car to get a flat tire fixed. Didn’t have the key to get the bolts off. That’s fine. It’s cool however they took our tire pressure gage & some tools we had left in the car. Not even gonna bother trying to get our stuff back.

I was in Waterloo coaching when I picked up a nail in the parking lot. The AAA operator recommended Jim Linds service because theyre good AND it was a Sunday when not a lot of place were open to fixing a flat. I left the vehicle and walked to a restaurant to grab a bite and in less than an hour, the flat was patched, the donut spare was put away and I was ready to go. If I lived in W-loo I would use this facility religiously.

I have never been treated with so much compassion and genuine care as I did here. I went to Jim Lind back in 2018 when I my car broke down. I had originally gone to another store who fixed the problem, but my car broke down the next day. I heard wonderful things about Jim Linds and it was all true. He truly cares and takes great pride in his work and taking care of his clients. He made sure I would have a way to get to class while he worked on my car and I never felt like I was being talked down to, which often happens to young women in auto shops. If you want to go to a place you can trust, look no further.

We were taking our son to Iowa city and got a nail in our van tire. They squeezed us in and got us back on the road in no time. Great peoples and service. Highly recommend!!

Jim and his crew really are top notch. They do EXCELLENT mechanical work, customer service is fantastic, prices are very fair, and its a great local small business. Theyre great for routine maintenance jobs like oil changes/batteries/tires as well as major mechanical repairs (like the engine replacement that my sister needed on her Jeep that Linds completed). Theres not many places like Linds left out there in the world for friendly and quality service!

Friendly staff. Overcharged for parts and labor. They charge double and sometimes triple the amount of money it cost for parts. This place is a complete rip off. They charged $80 for a $40 part, $87 for another $40 part, $240 for a $110 part, You get where Im going with this. The good thing is they include the part number on the bill so you can cross check on websites and find out how much you got screwed.

Their service is of the highest quality. Customer service is unbelievable and rest assured, you vehicle will be done right and well taken care of. Service this good is hard to come by anymore.

This review is long overdue! We were traveling on Thanksgiving Day when we struck something in the roadway that pierced one of our tires. We had a LONG way to go with a wedding dress that needed to be in Mobile, AL on the following Saturday! We called AAA and they were not able to find anyone open since it was Thanksgiving, we also called all of the local shops ourselves with no luck. Fortunately, our niece is a regular customer of Jim Lind and said to give them a call. Sure enough, a half hour and $35 later, they had us on the road. So grateful to them!

Took my car here after several issues arose all at once on it. Mr. Lind fixed all issues with no trouble and at a comparatively decent and fair price (honestly, probably could have charged a lot more). Very polite, easy to speak with, explains all issues in detail.I was most impressed after the 2nd time bringing my car to him two weeks later (for separate non related issue)I spoke with him around on the phone at 7:30am that morning and I went to pick up my car (after being loaned one from his shop for the day with no issues) at 10:30pm. Thats (at that point a 15 hour work day). The man that owns the business... how many bosses do YOU see working 15hours in a day?He was still there hard at work, wiping grease off his hands, moving cars, directing his guys, making sure the days work was done before he left.Places and especially people such as Mr. Lind and few and far between.I would recommend Mr. Linds shop to anyone. As long as I live in Waterloo, Ill be bringing my car to him.

Jim and his crew have taken great care of my wife and I. From oil changes to repairs, he always explains everything that was done. If something is going to cost more than what is expected, he always calls, explains what needs to be done. Excellent service!

There friendly and experience at what they do

Superbowl Sunday, 20 miles east of Waterloo on hwy 20 heading for Wisconsin. Zero temperature and wind blowing like stink. Car died (water pump seized). Not good... Called Jim Lind and a tow truck was there within 30 minutes. Towed it in and diagnosed the problem pronto. No water pump available (Honda). Got a loaner car and was back on the road; total delay time less than 2 hours. Car was fixed by Tuesday. Prices were better than fair. Sometimes things go wrong but everything went right with Jim Lind. 24/7/365.

I didnt even leave the parking lot before I stopped to write this review, everyone here was so nice and helpful! I called about getting a tail light bulb replaced, they were able to get me in right away, they let me know that I had more than one bulb out & replaced them both in under 10 minutes. I cant say enough good thinga about the guys working here! I will definitely come back!

Jim and his team are pure professionals. This winter has been really rough on my car and I stopped in because my skid plate was hanging down underneath my car. Jim gave me an estimate of $40 and I made an appointment for the next day. Dropped my car off and walked to a restaurant a couple doors down and got a call that my car was ready before my food even got to my table. They said it only took a couple minutes to complete, so it was no charge. They even let me know that my brake pads were starting to show signs of wear. Jim and his team have gained a new customer.

Love Jim LInds, fair warning it may be a little more pricey than most but the quality of service is outstanding. Open all the time, rarely find a time when the owner Jim himself is not there taking care of his customers. Honest and expedient service station that offers most if not all services of a big garage and filing station.

This garage was responsible for my tire falling off & denting my fender on their property. Didn’t take responsibility for anything. Car windows had been smashed & Jim decided it would be best to leave my car uncovered in January weather. Jim & his staff spoke to me like a child & refused to talk any sort of business with me. Overpriced. Overrated. Would usually say support local businesses but NOT THIS ONE.

Best service station in town and the only source of high quality 93 octane gas for miles. One of the few places left that will take the time to figure out whats wrong with your vehicle and give you straight answers about your options.

Only the gas pumps are open 24/7. Dont go after 10pm if you dont have a credit card. Other than that, highly recommend!

This station owner should be ashamed. Today they had $2.29 on their sign. I thought jeez thats .25 cents higher than anywhere else in town but Ill stop. I pull in and found that that jacked up price is only e85 price. The sign says e85 in tiny print. The actual midgrade price was over $3. That is misleading, deceptive, and just plain bad business for our community. I did some research and found the news had asked the owner why they are priced so high. The owner said the fuel has higher transportation costs. I travel by car all over this country and have NEVER seen another Shell station taking advantage of the public this way before.

Jim helped me out of a very tight spot. I was driving from the Twin Cities to Iowa City when my serpentine belt broke on US 218 in Waterloo. Since this was 9 PM on a Friday night I was glad to find that Jims shop was open 24 hours, so I had my vehicle towed there. Jim said he would have his mechanic look at it when he came in at 7 AM the next morning. At 8 AM Saturday his mechanic called, we discussed things, and he said it should be finished in a couple of hours. Jim picked me up at my hotel and brought me back to his shop. I was on the road by 1130 AM. I was very pleased with the efforts of Jim and his staff to make a very inconvenient situation bearable, and would recommend Jim Lind Service highly.

Just rotated my tires and stopped here hoping they could do the TPMS relearn for me. They asked $42 for this 5 minute or less job siting the cost of the tool. I stopped at Discount Tire and it took 3 minutes and cost me $0. I will not take my vehicles here anymore.

Open 24 hours/ 7 days a week, makes this place #1 when dealing with, when locking your keys in car, needing a town, an oil change, car wash, this place has it.

I can’t speak about their service. But their gas is a dollar more a gallon then anywhere else in town.

The only gas my husband will use in his Harley-Davidson when hes in town!!!
