I have a car barely hanging on by a thread. I knew there were several things wrong with it that needed repair. I took it to Clarks for an estimate. I appreciated the no nonsense approach they took. They worked with me in prioritizing the repairs since I could not afford all the repairs at once. The work was top notch and fixed the first time. They have also been able to squeeze me in when an unexpected repair was needed. They are a honest, hard-working, reliable auto shop that I will always take my car to be repaired.

Troy is great to work with. I have been taking my car there for a while. He is honest and up front about all costs and doesnt try to up sell any thing not needed. Their work is all around solid!

Walked in to see if they could help me out of a bind with a flat spare tire I needed to use. A man told me that hed do it real quick and to bring the spare tire inside, which I had already taken off my car and brought with me. He filled it up real quick and gave it back to me, no charge. I was grateful. I brought the tire back to my car, and bolted it back on. I was able to get to a tire shop that day thanks to him. Kind and honest help. Will heavily consider this place the next time I have a bigger issue with my car.

Mike and everyone at AM Clark & Sons are the best! I had some work done on my F-150s front rotors and bearings, then moved all the way out West to Utah. The bearings for some reason went bad shortly after, less than 10,000 miles on them, loud clicking noises and everything. The shops here were terrible and ripped me off on the replacements, but Mike stood by his work and actually mailed me a check to partially reimburse the original work in an effort to make the situation right. He also gave me some tips over the phone in terms of things to look out for from other shops. I was stunned!If I still lived in STL Id go to AM Clark & Sons exclusively and recommend everyone I know do the same. They charge reasonable prices, do a fast and quality job, and most importantly, theyre never gonna rip you off like lots of other places will.

Went to these guys for a safety/emissions check on a recently purchased used car. They were straight forward about the issues and quick to fix them, walked me through things to look out for, and worked with me even though I had to come back several times right around their closing time. Also seemed affordable, although Im probably not the best judge of this. A little rough around the edges, but in a good way. I plan on coming back for future auto issues.

I have to say I was really disappointed in this place after reading all the positive reviews. Mike quoted me one price over the phone and swore he would not make any further adjustments without my consent. Wrong. Not only did he go back on this word, he produced a fake piece of paper with a much hirer price claming that that was the original agreement. I had a new clutch put in...and within a week the check engine light was back on and the car smelled funny. I had it checked out by another mechanic and was told it had not been installed and adjusted properly in the first place. :-(

I have been using A.M. Clark and Sons for a few years and, like other reviewers, have found them to provide outstanding service and I trust them completely. In the rare event they are wrong about something, they will make it right and I have found that where other places (especially dealerships) recommend work, A.M. Clark often tells me that all of it is not necessary and they are always less expensive. I recommend them to everyone I know.

I feel they are very trustworthy. Mike aways explains whats needed in detail. Dont feel overcharged. Offer options when possible.

The brakes on my car were squealing badly, so I dropped it off with them to look at it.They call me later (the next day) and tell me its ready to pick up. When I get there I find out they not only have wasted my time doing nothing with the brakes, they also found a random unrelated sensor that was broken and fixed it... for $250, without asking me first. They didnt even attempt to call to authorize the work and just expected me to pay them for wasting my time and making modifications to my car I didnt want.

I went to have UV dye and Freon placed in my Civic to find A/C leak. I was thinking it would cost around $70-100. I was shown a $170 bill which is ridiculous considering U/V Freon only costs around $40 and they just put U/V Freon in the system which is hardly any labor. I will have to wait for another month or so for them to find the leak. Who knows how much it cost with their massive upcharge to fix the leak though?
