Storage units have big steel doors. They seem very safe and secure. The units are also climate controlled. Only downside I could see is that you have to go inside to get to the units. That being said storing a dirt bike or atv is out of the question. which is what I need storage for..... But for boxes and what not its ok. Just have to wheel it down a long hallway to get to your unit

Our cab and trailer completely flooded from a little rain. Not at all rain resistant. We lost countless things. Unimaginable damage to all our wooden furniture. And saved documentation.... All lost. Make sure it doesnt rain when you move. Even a little. Because you will lose everything you intended to move.No idea if ANY of the electronics we moved work still. But we dont have high hopes. Moral? Dont use U-Haul to move cloths, or furniture, or electronics, or valuables that arent metal. Dont pack anything into boxes. They will all turn to mulch if it rains at all.And I believe they have no intention of doing anything about it even though we paid over a grand to make sure we had all the coverage!Just a great experience over all.

Went went to help a friend empty out a storage shed didnt have the key to lock was told that there was power to hook up a grinder when we got there guess what no power and it hadnt been for a while but we was told there was just not very good communication

Long review- initially my 26’ U-Haul was reserved at the Derby, KS location, but several days prior to pickup it was moved to this location @ 1000 E 13 in Wichita. The initial location in Derby was told I will be driving 1000 miles and they confirmed I would be getting a newer model F-650. Upon pickup at the Wichita location I received a 2007 GMC with 200k miles. I did not complete a safety inspection only because I trusted U-Haul to put me in a safe and legal vehicle. While driving (after it was fully loaded) I went to place my newborn son in the vehicle middle seat, but the seatbelt was torn. I then inspected all seatbelts and found the passenger seatbelt was torn as well. I was then unable to transport my wife and son and was forced to rent a vehicle at an additional unplanned cost. I inspected the vehicle further and found a bad exhaust leak in the exhaust manifold (this caused low back pressure which means I had to keep the RPM’s higher to get up to speed and intern this caused the cost of gas to rise quite a bit). I also found that the tie rods and other steering components were so worn and in such bad shape that the tires pulled the truck in different directions the entire time I was driving (this was not normal drift, but bad mechanical components that needed to be repaired/replaced). The front end suspension was very bad as well, on the freeway while fully loaded at 60 mph the front end would bounce uncontrollably… this caused me to have to take surface streets to travel the 1000 miles. This caused the 1000 mile trip to double in distance and time. This also means that the fuel cost went up even more. I spent over $3,000.00 on fuel alone. I wasn’t able to make the trip within the original allocated timeframe of 2 days, so we had to stop and get a hotel. Additionally, my wife has some pain from the birth of our son and she’s still working through it, since she had to drive she wasn’t able to take her pain medication which caused her to be in pain the entire drive until we stopped at the hotels. This vehicle was not only unsafe, but was illegal to be driven on the roadway considering the seatbelts damages. The drive side seatbelt was damaged as well, but I made it work. I’ve used U-Haul and only U-Haul over the last 20 years and this by far is the worst experience I’ve ever had with U-Haul and any other company I’ve ever done business with. If this vehicle is not taken off the roadway, they will kill someone. Additionally, when I dropped the U-Haul off at the location the gentleman who checked it on said this specific U-Haul is for use within the city only and I should have never been provided this rental since I was driving such a long distance. He was very surprised this vehicle did not breakdown. Please be mindful of this location that they do not properly inspect their vehicles prior to supplying them to customers.

Good experience renting a pickup truck for a home remodel project. Pretty seamless pickup and return process. Their system allows you to return the vehicle using their web app, so you make notes and take pictures to confirm all is as it should be. Only thing is that I think they had the incorrect record of the starting mileage and fuel level, so I ended up paying for more gas and mileage than I should have.

Was wonderful they were reasonably priced I definitely would recommend this company. A+

I rented a Car Dolly from this location, I made a Reservation online and did the check In online cause it claims to save time, not so sure about that. When I arrived a 1:00pm to pickup my Reservation there was a trailer attached to a pickup that had a flat tire and the sales clerk was changing the tire okay No big deal, the longer I stood there I noticed a Man in a orange U-Haul Shirt that was standing there talking to the two male customers watching this lady change the tire after about 15 mins I walked back to my truck and the sales lady yelled I’ll be right with you, okay I realize these guys have a flat and need help, what I didn’t understand was why if there was two u-haul employees there. why they one who I’m sure it was his job wasn’t changing the tires and the sales person helping other customers? I was not the only one waiting. After 48mins of watching these two change the two tires she finally finished the whole time the guy just stood there, well he did remove the jack, I got there at 1:00 pm I left there at 2:15 pm they also lost the two customers ahead of me because they got mad and left. Well I’m sure they just went to other locations. The lady was super helpful and kind, she was very apologetic. In the end I asked her how come the employee wasn’t changing the tire? She said because he was off and the replacement guy didn’t show up. So he stood there the whole time talking to the customers but didn’t help her. What a person he is. I felt bad for her but she was nice. And this was the only major problem I have had at this location. Good help is hard to find

The people at this Uhaul location are better than 5 stars. Very helpful cheerful and courteous. They even helped me carry in recycled boxes that I was bringing in after my move. Ive used several uhaul locations in Wichita. This is the best.

Really poor customer service! I haul is known for convenience! Not in my experience. If you ever want to get treated based on your skin color, this is the place to be.

We used their services on 03/07. Absolute BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE from the two young men that were working that day. Simply amazing. Ive used UHaul for years, and its always been good, but today was just phenomenal. From the online reservation, to the in store process, leaving and returning the truck. The employees were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, kind, caring....I could go on and on. But these two!! Good people! AND good employees representing this company!

Take pictures of everything including the odometer! they will rack up your bill if u dont have proof. i drove only ten miles in town, took two short trip from riverside to meridian and maple and they charged me for 20 miles! its garbage when these big companies try and squeeze whatever they can out of you! oh and dont call, youll be on hold forever and a day...

We just used this location for two storage units, truck return, and then truck rental again. Every interaction with the staff at this location was positive. The manager, Bre was particularly amazing and kind. I appreciated this so much after going through a stressful move.

From picking up my U-Haul to dropping off the U-Haul. I was treated as though I had been there before, a regular customer in a sense. I felt very comfortable, no pressure in regards to add ons. Possible additional charges were explained upfront and the contract was clear. Easy to move in and out of the parking area. Convenient location, not out of the way, and simple to locate. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a U-Haul rental!

Helpful, clean & friendly. We ended up not renting due to unavailability at the time but the counter person was willing to call other locations & was helpful in attempting to find nearest location & assist us.

Their storage rental payment process is a scam. They send you an email a few days before it is due with a link and when you click the link it tells you that there is nothing due. According to their customer service, the amount due will only show on the day it is actually due (which no one tells you and makes no sense). Then you are hit with a $20 late fee the day after because you thought it was taken care of. Only the manager at the site can do anything about the fee and they dont answer the phone, dont return messages, and dont respond even when customer service sends them a message to call you.

Thats now three time Ive made a reservation and I get to the location and my reservation has been cancelled by someone. The tall guy at the location always get me setup though.

Have used them twice in the past 6 months and both time they were easy to deal with.

Ive moved a lot in my life and Ive never been disappointed, until recently, tried picking up a reservation made with my prepaid debit card and was told they no longer accepted that form of payment.Then why was my reservation accepted over the phone!? I will never use U-haul again!

Great rental experience. Having years ago ran 2 of the Uhaul centers here in Wichita, my standards were set high going in. The gentleman working was awesome, you could tell he respects his job, was very friendly and easy to talk to. Great experience being on the other side of the Uhaul counter.

Someone told me on the phone that they would buy my boxes back as long as the tab wasnt broken. I told them I did NOT have my receipt and they said that was fine. I drove all the way there just for the person in there to tell me no. I called on my way home and spoke to someone who was supposed to have the manager call me back. I never got a call and never got my problem solved. Ill never go there again.

It may be small and a little hard to find but I had to make some last minute changes and was able to due to availability. Plus they had awsome communication.

They did not accurately record beginning mileage. I was charged for an extra 50 miles with a truck and car hauler. Employees did not care at all. Trailer waa dirty as was truck which I was expected to clean. By the time I was overcharged and the amount I paid at car wash it would have cost only 40.00 more to send a tow truck to Little River. Wont be back

Do not ever go here or use Uhaul in Wichita, period. We rented a truck at this location and they sent us to a seperate location to pick up the trailer. This authorized dealer where we were picking up at sold switchblades, glass weed pipes, and had a steady flow of people likely buying drugs and illegal gambling. Then, after an hour and a half, we were told they didnt have a hitch to hook up the trailer to the truck. We then had to go to another location where they told us hitches, to hook up their truck and their trailer, are not provided and we had to buy one.

If i could give negative stars I would. I reated a van on the 1st of July. The lady said run your card as credit so it doesnt run the estimated cost and we will push it through when you bring the van back. Well both of my cards were only debit cards so i was going to transfer money to my credit card but my friend that was with me was like we can just use mine if they really arent going to pull the money off. The ladt assured us it wouldnt and when I returned the van I could change cards or pay cash. So I bring the van back and pay cash. Well of course they still run my friends card. Her account goes negative and its july 4th weekend so the banks are closed. I call on the 5th they assue me it will be release within a couple of days because of the holidays and they give me a $50 credit on my credit card because that is how much I had to pay my friend for her account going negative. Here we are the 20th after calling atleast 15 yimes speaking to 10 different people and managers calling me back. THE $50 JUST NOW GOT PUT IN TODAY.!!!! Today people. And i still have to wait atleast 3 business days for it to clear the bank. This is the only uhal company ( yes different locations) but same company. Im sooooooo disappointed!

Found live cockroaches in the truck along with a bug bomb canister in the back of the truck. I also noticed on my paperwork the words bug bomb written in. Very rude and uncooperative associate when I asked if I had recourse if I got the bugs in my belongings. She said I would have to check the insurance I purchased. I wasnt asking for anything but what I could do if I got bugs from the move. I would have given them ZERO stars if I could!!!

They charged me for another day when I was late returning their truck and the bad thing was I was late because the truck I had rented was having mechanical issues.

I reserved a trailer and needed a wiring harness. Showed up on time and they had trouble with which one I needed. I figured it out, installed it myself only to watch the two associates working at the time, closing and locking the doors an hour early according to the store hours posted on the door. They said Well be here at 7 a.m., bye!
