Was out with friends shopping and needed something for a treat. This was on our way home so decided to give it a try. It starts with a base of vanilla soft serve which they will dip in a variety of flavors for you and then you may also choose a topping. I had the pistachio dip and it was great. Large serving and left feeling very satisfied. The only drawback about going late in the evening is the outside crowd from the bar 2 doors up the street, but it was almost like watching a comedy/drama show while enjoying our treat. 😆 Shop was clean and staff member was nice. Outside seating as well and easy parking.

If you like vanilla soft serve, this is a good place to pop by if youre in the mood for a cone. Its...just vanilla though. As the name suggests, their schitck is that they dip said soft serve in magic-shell like flavored coatings, and apply your toppings of choice. That said, when the base product is nothing to write home about, you have to worry about having such an intensely branded business balanced on it. Im a big fan of soft serve and this was your average, run of the mill, ice-cream-machines-at-Golden-Corral vanilla. Nothing *wrong* with it...just, eh.The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired, as well. With a paint scheme and application that immediately brought to mind a 1980s rec center, or jail visiting room, the place has an unmistakable feel of a front. It is the sort of bare bones youd expect out of a pop-up shop experience, only....its permanent.Got nothing against the place, it just feels kind of half-finished as a brand concept, which strikes me as a little odd given how dedicated new businesses have to be in the wake of the pandemic to succeed. I honestly hope they do. (And maybe add some wall art while theyre at it?)

Wanted to love it! But the consistency of the soft serve was kinda atrocious. It gave both me and my friend stomachaches after several bites. The staff was nice and remade our orders because I just couldnt believe that what we were given was how it was supposed to be. This is not soft serve. Its just not edible. 1 star added for the staff. Overall, this is 1/5 soft serve.

Concept is cute but the “soft serve” tasted weird and had a odd consistency. It’s like frozen water and has no flavor at all. Toppings are super good though. Wouldn’t go back though. Employees were super nice.

After two other poor experiences here last year, we decided to give it another try and were once again terribly disappointed. The female employee handed my husband his ice cream in a cup rather than the waffle cup he ordered and said “oops, I gave you the wrong cup” with no indication of correcting her error. Also, I have never seen such poorly swirled soft serve. My one topping was barely a tablespoon worth which is a joke for the cost of this ice cream. After a few bites, we were both disgusted by the lack of flavor and eventually ended up throwing it away before even finishing it which says a lot. After looking at pictures on their Instagram, we concluded that they gave us the vegan soft serve instead of the regular vanilla. The other reviews describing it as milky, watery ice are 100% accurate. Clearly their employees are severely lacking training if they aren’t even serving people the right thing. Safe to say we won’t be returning here again.

If I had to rate this establishment, it would be half a star at best. Ice cream was completely flavorless. Tasted like eating ice. Very thin and watery consistency. Carmel dip tasted like sour butterscotch. We all ended up throwing our ice cream away, it was that poor. If youre looking forgood ice cream, this place isnt it. Hopefully they can take customer opinions and improve.

Milky water ice. Don’t know what recipe they served tonight but it was not good. And not vanilla. $12 for 2 people and we both threw it out after a few bites. Line too long to even bother go back and address it.

Cute little place, I ordered a pistachio flavored one and I did not like it, it did not taste like pistachio, My friend and I couldn’t finish it. Best part: good quantity, low prices, good ambiance.

For a place that only offers vanilla ice cream.. the vanilla ice cream is pretty bad. The toppings and dip are awesome, but I won’t go back until the vanilla ice cream recipe is changed.

This place was good in the past. I got just a plain cup. Ice cream has no flavor. Not even a hint of vanilla. Just frozen flavorless cup of nothing. This place was once good.

Cute area, close to Bailey Park which is a great area to sit and eat. However the ice cream is not good at all, its only vanilla with toppings and the ice cream itself doesnt taste good. Which if the base doesnt taste good youre left with the whole thing not tasting good. They are also pricey for what it is.

Tonight was the first time I actually thought this is certainly the worst ice cream Ive ever had. When have you ever thought the ice cream you were currently eating was unquestionably the worst? That shouldnt happen. My experience fully matches the other one-star reviews.

Fun place but the soft serve really isnt anything exciting. Considering its the basis of all the other options I would expect it to be at least as good as Costcos soft serve.Edit: I gave a second chance to see if I had caught them on a bad day the first time around. Nope. The soft serve doesnt even taste like vanilla. Im not even sure there is actually dairy in it at all. Not creamy. Its sad because this place could be awesome.

I dont know what happened to this place. A year ago the ice cream was yummy and the dipping was delicious. Now the ice cream is more like ice milk, its watery. The toppings were flavorless and waxy. Such a shame. We ended up throwing away our ice cream, wasted $20.

Ice cream had no flavor and tasted like bad ice milk; watery and icy consistency. Only flavor is vanilla with toppings extra. Poor quality and stale dipping sauces and Oreo. Threw out all three ice cream cones. Would not recommend.

Ice cream was completely flavorless. Made both mine and my wife’s stomach upset. Save yourself the trouble and go to Coldstone instead.

Very meh. After all the hype I finally made it out here and was surprised that the ice cream tastes like cold nothing. The serving size was good, but for what I paid I can get a whole lot more better ice cream at the grocery store.

Left the same review on yelp. Their Instagram says winter hours are 12-9 on the weekends. I went yesterday at 5 and they were closed. This is the second time that Ive been there and its been closed. I hope they will have accurate hours once the second location opens.Update- 3/19/21- went to the Hawthorne location and they were open! Staff were not friendly. The vegan ice cream had an ice like texture and not an ice cream like texture. If youre not vegan go to Chars, their ice cream and dips are better! If youre vegan, grocery store ice cream is way better.

Honestly it was really messy and the ice cream was way too big, couldnt enjoy it without getting my clothes dirty.

Came here for the first time. Ice cream was good. All the difference flavor choices and what not we’re super cool. Only reason I can’t give it 5 starts is not even a minute after getting our ice cream it just started melting all over us. I don’t know. Maybe serve it with a dish or something ?

Its just ice cream thats dipped I knew looking at it it wouldnt be that exciting like a lot of places the allure is look at these options what if I got this kind with this and it makes you feel like if you got a better choice it would be better they certainly have some interesting flavors however I consider that to be gimmicky and you just keep going and going and then realize hey this is just kind of regular ice cream nothing thats special and it wasnt a little bit of a murdery area but not that I felt scared or anything

Custom dipped and topped cones are the perfect treat anytime! Three sizes available, and I appreciate that theres actually a small portion available (called the mini) when you want to enjoy a small dessert. Be sure to Branch out and try something new - the lemon dipped with pistachio dust exceeded my expectations.

Fun summer treat for the whole family.Went on a Sunday afternoon and had a good time. They only take cash but there is an ATM right next door. They only serve vanilla ice cream but have several different choices of topping and dipping flavors.

I legitimately cant tell whats so special about this place. They serve decent ice cream thats dipped in miscellaneous dips (a VERY thin layer of those things too) and then half dipped in a topping. And it costs a pretty good bit. Id pass on going here in favor of Deweys or even Dairio.

The soft served is so delicious with the different dips and toppings on a hot summer day downtown Winston, but when it is hot outside... yes the ICECREAM will MELT, so you do have to eat fast!!!! Luckily the staff has armed the window with additional napkins and wet wipes are also available!! I try to go there every chance I can get. My friends and family are always experimenting with different dips and toppings each time we go!So thankful something like this opened up in Winston Salem! Reasonably priced, but you do need to bring cash money!

Came here in a Friday. I ordered the waffle cone with coffee and Oreo.It took like 20 mins to get the cone and the ice cream was mediocre at best to be honest. Won’t be back.

So after 3 visits Ive decided to write something. The ice cream is good, but not much else. There seems to be no training or quality control. Some cones are 1in tall, others 4in tall... supposedly the same size and definitely the same price. That seems easy enough to fix but it hasnt been. Also, there is no management. Waiting 30+ mins for a cone of ice cream, which Ive witnessed twice now, has no excuse. I hope they can figure things out but until I hear things have changed, I wont bother going again.

Absolutely horrible service. Takes HOURS to get a simple scoop of ice cream. I do not suggest in the least bit.

I’m standing outside as I type this, on a Wednesday evening, waiting for 38 minutes for two plain vanilla cones. We visited tonight to support a new local ice cream joint but I’m very disappointed. It’s soft serve, I’m confused how each cone is taking 10minutes. Be warned.

The ice cream is great... but they take way too long to serve it. The shop needs an extra worker and/or a decrease in menu options so each cone doesn’t take 10 minutes to make.

This appears to be a pretty neat place, but I have been twice now and the ice cream is definitely not worth $4-5, there’s no option to have a cup, the service is poor, there are only a few places to sit.

Melted everywhere to vanilla ice cream

Visited on Saturday night, we went in excited and left disappointed. This place could be so great if the time and effort was taken to polish out all of the details. The wait was very long, as others have mentioned, the sizes were inconsistent and super small, and the ice cream was so-so, toppings were inconsistent from person to person. Quality control is so important...It seemed that the product wasn’t all the way frozen, so it melted all over you as you tried to eat it. Not to mention, cheap paper towel as napkins. Guys, put some chocolate or a mini-marshmallow in the bottom of the cone so it doesn’t drip over people as they try and eat it...With such great memories of heavenly cones on summer nights growing up, larger servings, and a plethora of options... this place leaves a lot to be desired for $5 a cone.Maybe skip this place until they figure out the kinks and head over to Cugino Forno for some gelato.

Just dont, the place is dirty. O and bring small bills if you dare to eat here . They dont take credit cards and no bills larger than a 20. Um what...yup lol, cant make this stuff up
