I have been a patient of Eyes of Winter Park for years as well as both of my kids. They are so great and the doctor particularly which is puertorrican like me is so loving and caring and take their times with us the patients and explains everything with patience. I would not change them for anything. They always call me for any appointment reminders or when my glasses are ready and throughout the year they send texts to remind you of your yearly appointment. Also when you go to the appointments you barely have to wait as they are very quick in treating their patients. The staff is very kind and the fitter always help choose the best option and it doesnt have to be the most expensive it is usually the one that looks best on me. Very grateful for them and hoping to be their patient for years to come.

Dr. Richardson is the best doctor I have ever had. He takes the time to explain all my questions and concerns to me. I have had several medical problems with my eyes, which him quickly resolved. He has a wonderful staff. I feel very happy and grateful to have this place as my ophthalmological center.

Everyone was very helpful and super friendly! I was greeted and seen right away. The exam was quick and I loved the help I received to pick out new glasses. My benefits were explained to me and I was helped with picking out what would work best for me and my wallet. Will definitely recommend and return.

I dont normally write reviews for businesses, but this is my way of saying a formal thank you to Dr. Richardson and his staff. Collectively they are some of the nicest people I have ever had the privilege of doing business with. Prior to going to see Dr. Richardson, I wore glasses and was told by other doctors that I was not a candidate for contacts. When Covid became a pandemic and we were required to wear a mask, working on a computer all day began to be a problem. My glasses would fog up and this caused some headaches. When I began seeing Dr. Richardson, he felt I was a candidate for contacts. He completed a thorough exam of my eyes, and we began the process of figuring out the best prescription for me in order to have contacts. Due to my specific vision issues, this was a complex problem to solve. Dr. Richardson and his staff, however, did not give up on me. They continued to try different prescription configurations working towards success. After several options, we finally found a prescription that works! This has made a huge difference for me in my day to day living including my job. Another doctor and their staff would not have taken the time it took to help me. In addition to their commitment to helping me, they were incredibly nice in the process. I am very grateful for their help and highly recommend this practice to anyone in need of vision care.

Simply put. Dr. Richardson saved my life. Its really that simple.I first visited the office in 2020 because I was living in Winter Park and wanted a Spanish-speaking doctor for my muti-lingual family.I visited for my routine annual exam, it all seemed pretty routine. I was driving that day, so I opted for the $39 retinal scan instead of the traditional dilation.Lets be clear, nothing had changed much with my optical health. Dr. Richardson updated my prescription, the change was so minor I didnt even opt for new glasses then. In the review of my retinal scan, doc mentioned he saw signs of what could be high blood pressure and I should just inquire with my doc to make sure everything was okay.Sure enough I was in the hospital 2 days later with blood pressure readings beyond that which would be considered critical/fatal.My review of Dr. Richardsons practice is two-fold. 1) Doc is a decorated army vet turned eye doctor who actually CARES, speaks to you as a respected human being and a friend and speaks TO you, not AT you. His staff is incredible, they are bilingual, caring and understanding.Secondly, his practice capitalizes on the fact that eye health is a critical part of wholistic health. Your eye doctor has insight to many other areas of health that can, in some cases, be very serious.I am happy to have Dr. Richardson looking after my health and will continue to be a patient of his!

My 4th year coming here with my kids and it is always filled with love & smiles here. The doctor is always great, he actually cares, wants you to understand and does not rush you or make you feel like a dollar sign. I am the type of person that if I get a bad vibe about you not being nice to my child I will never go back. The staff has had amazing patience with my not so easy now 5 year old who has been wearing glasses since the age of 2, for that reason only is why I come, they always show my kids love even during covid. When you suddenly realize that you have become legally blind, all your world goes upside down. In my case I sat in my bedroom and didn’t know how to take the next step. It wasn’t until I met Dr. Richardson in Eyes of Winter Park that with his help and advice I could take my first step, then the second, and now after two years I even forget sometimes that I can’t see. He not only helped me with my vision but he helped me emotionally.I would recommend him with without doubts.

I had never tried contacts before and was hesitant about doing so (not sure if I could manage poking around my own eyes). Dr Richardson was able to change my look on life in about an hour.I am over 60, had Lasik in the past, (can’t retouch up) and was at a crossroad about what to do about my vision.Called, got an appointment for the next day, was greeted promptly and saw him within minutes.After a few tests, he started talking about reading glasses... Well, sorry, not for me....He was very informative about contacts, put some in. let me sit a while to see; how they worked/felt. Then we had instructions on installing/removal...Sent me home for 2 weeks with these trial set...It has been just a few days, but I see things in a different light now. Can’t wait for colored lenses for fun. Very affordable, since I do not have vision insurance.I will be talking about his office and sending folks his way often....Small business always need customers and you will be as happy as I have been

I remember the first time meeting with Dr. Richarson in regards to a blind family member, to test try a device to help them. I began talking to him about my son DJ who had recently had cornea replacement surgery. DJ was still having problems seeing even with glasses. Dr. Richarson said to bring him to the office and he would accommodate any day he could fly in from Pa. DJ was fitted with a hard contact lens that fitted over his eye. It was larger that any contact lens I had ever seen, it needed a plunger to put and and to remove. At first I sight of this thing I was in awe of it, I wondered how can you even put this in. Dj was fitted and flew in a couple times for his exact fit. The good news is as a mom my concern was for my adult son to be self sufficient in every way. Dj now has 20/20 vision in that eye and no problems. Thank you so much Dr. Richarson after this covid is over my sister is next to see you. Again if you have low vision or even no vision go see Dr. Richarson he has some really cool devices, I know I have full vision but I tried one for my family member.

I absolutely adore Eyes of Winter Park! It is very conveniently located in a plaza with a Publix and a nail salon nearby. It’s is a nice, locally owned office that is clean and comfortable. The service is fantastic, and the staff is easy to communicate with. I am always taken in on time and sometimes when I arrive early, I am taken in as soon as I sign in. Now the best part about this place is the doctor.Dr. Richardson is incredible, he truly takes his time with you and will always go the extra mile! He owns the practice and has such a passion for what he does. He is very knowledgeable with three degrees dedicated to the sciences. He is very careful and well mannered. He will make you feel like family. I unfortunately had to part ways with him last year due to an insurance issue, but I came right back to him as soon as i had the proper insurance. That’s how awesome this place is. They also have a nice selection of glasses and sunglasses! Give this place a try, and you’ll see what I mean about Dr. Richardson. He’s truly wonderful.

Best and most thorough eye exam since 1965. As a medical professional, it is important that I am listened to, am examined competently and professionally. Dr. Richardson has exam technology that detects early potential issues . Blown away with the test results, images as well as his instruction about each test. Complete exam with great eyeglass package that was comparable to big box store special prices. I put complete trust in Dr. Richardson. His staff are great! very knowledgable, helpful. Nice location and pleasant interior. I will go nowhere else but to Eyes of Winter Park after this visit.

Took my daughter here for a checkup and glasses. Really enjoyed my experience. Dr. Richardson as he was very attentive and listens to all our concerns which is unlike other places we have gone to. He is a hands on physician, which is very hard to find. Great selection of glasses as well. Definitely recommend going if you are looking for a new place to go.

Nice place! The doctor was awesome, really took their time and explained everything and bonus they took my insurance! Staff was helpful and I didnt wait that long which surprised me because it was pretty busy. Able to park pretty close as its next to the Publix. I got in and out without any hassles. I will definitely go back. I liked it so much I set up appointments for my kids to check them before school starts.

Dr. Richardson is an excellent doctor. He takes his time and gives each patient the time and care they need. His staff is friendly and willing to help. They have a large selection of glasses with a wide price range. Something for everyone, no matter what your budget is. Great for contact lenses too! You wont be disappointed!

I have no real complaints about this facility, I literally tried to sit and think if I did. When I came in Erin was extremely helpful with helping me find frames, she was very honest with me on how they looked. It was a Saturday and I guess I came right before the rush with all three of my daughters and the doctor came right out, gave them a spinning top each and sat on the floor with them seeing whose can spin the fastest. I really appreciated that because as a mom who has 3 younger children sometimes they can get overwhelming, jumping everywhere, I usually lose my patience and give up what Im doing. This staff went above and beyond!

I have been though a few optometrists and can tell you that Dr Richardson is one of the best in the area. The time he puts in with each of his customers makes you feel very comfortable. Very thorough and knowledgeable.

I highly recommend Winter Park Optical, used my insurance to get an eye exam and a pair of glasses. Had no idea I would save so much money. The doctor was excellent and the staff was very helpful in helping me select some frames, I think I tried every pair in the office. I couldnt decide which frame to get, they had a good selection. Overall had a great experience. Thank you for all your help.

Dr. Richardson was extremely helpful, personable and knowledgeable helping my 93 year old mother select her new glasses. The staff was terrific, and I would recommend this office in a heartbeat if you are in the market for new glasses. If you are a resident of the Mayflower, youd be crazy to go anywhere else.

Beyond terrible experience, the doctor gave me too strong of a prescription and when I was rechecked he said the prescription was fine, it must be an optician problem. He did not give me a full eye exam either; not checking eye health only giving me a refraction. The optician was abrasive and failed to go over exactly what I wanted for my lenses (transitions, blue AR, progressive add power).. just guessed and ordered. The glasses were made incorrectly twice because of this. I was offered for them to remake them again but upset at this point, I asked for a refund. They did not respond to my request for refund emails for about two weeks and when the refund was finally dispensed it was not the full amount originally paid. Also my personal frames I’d given them to put new lenses in were returned but not my original personal lenses (300$+).. so I am missing the lenses for my frames. I am thoroughly disappointed and now have to go see another eye doctor in hopes of fixing my prescription and ordering new glasses.

The Doctor was great and professional however, the same could not be said of the fitter. Frame selection was small and expensive and the event attempt to charge a fee for providing pupil distance. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

After years of wearing cheaters, I finally broke down and explored the idea of wearing bifocal contacts. Upon the recommendation of a friend, we met with Dr. Richardson and his staff at Eyes of Winter Park. Upon arrival a very nice lady came out and borrowed mine and my wifes glasses and gave the a thorough cleaning and tightened up the screws, they were clean and good as new. Next, the technician took us back and started the preliminary assessments. She made sure the equipment was cleaned and sterile before we even put our head on the instruments and was super friendly, just like everybody so far. Afterwards, we met with Dr. Richardson. Dr. Richardson was super friendly, extremely intelligent and intuitive when examining mine and my wifes eyes. After patiently running through all the equipment he has at his command, he fit me with some bifocal contacts, taught, (patiently) how to put them in and remove them. Very hands on in your care and experience. He spent at least 30-40 minutes with both my wife and I. All in all it was a great experience, Ill go back in a couple of weeks to re-access if these are the right strength for me. His staff is top notch and very friendly. I left to get a hair cut afterwards and the lady cutting my hair was intrigued with my bifocal contacts so I gave her his business card and recommended she go see him too. Bottom line, hes a great eye doctor, did three tours in the Army, and has a super staff, go see him for your eye needs!! I was reading some of these earlier posts from 3-4 years ago and hope you dont let these deter you, in talking with Dr. Richardson, I got the impression he had recently taken over this business in the last 2 years and was working hard to make it the top caliber place it is.

This place was awesome! If anyone would like to experience a doctor and staff who actually cares and listens to your needs, make Eyes of Winter Park your Optometrist. I felt welcomed and Dr. Francisco listened to my concerns and gave a thorough exam. Afterwards, the staff helped me to pick out my new specs and actually gave their opinion! Ive not had such specialized treatment at a doctors office. And they were on time to boot!!! GREAT!

First visit to Dr. Richardsons office was a very pleasant one. His staff greeted me with warm welcome and was very friendly. Dr. Richardson is the MOST CARING EYE DOCTOR I have ever encountered. I have had 4 corneal transplants, and bilateral cataract surgeries. I am considered legally blind, and for the past 21 + plus years I have been living and working with dull and very blurred vision. I would change spectacles every year, and still my vision would not improve. I had many sutures cut out of the eyes still, I had no clarity. On my first visit with Dr. Richardson he elucidated every aspect of keratoconus lenses and gave me the option to either try the lenses or continue with spectacles. Giving a synopsis, when he called me in to try the lenses and I put them on, my surroundings became so BRIGHT, I could see and read for the first time in my life with clarity. I was so overwhelmed I started to cry. In all my 60 years I lived and see through a cloud. I can say, I once was blind, but now I see. Words of thank you are not enough for what he has done for me. Yeshua has used this good and kind man to aid me and many others. I write this on my own accord and hope if anyone out there with keratoconus or any other eye disease need to be treated, look no further. By the way, I am a nubian woman who is most grateful for this eye doctor.

Called for my yearly check up and found out the good Doctor just up and left with out telling any of his patients he went AWOL. at least they could of taken the website down or have a disconnected phone number instead of driving all the way out there to find out. what a wasted day and money.

Bad experience we went in December 2020 and they told us in 2 weeks we called them to let them know that their lenses are ready we never received a call or message to pick them up now they send us a letter, October 2021 after 10 months that the lenses are ready they hide saying that They called and we were not contacted. When we never received calls from them ... now that I receive the letter I call them and they still bother why I ask after 10 months do they let me know that they are ready by letter? Lousy.
