I give this place an F. Actually 3. Fast, fair, friendly. Dwight was super cool. Fixed me up quickly. I felt they were very fair in pricing and transparent. Very happy to say we have found our go-to local mechanic.

I recently moved and wanted to find a new mechanic near home. A few people suggested Salem st car care center, so when my car wouldnt crank I took it here. Im happy to say that Ive found my local mechanic. Dwight was honest and professional. The car was serviced quickly. What more could one ask for? Thanks for a positive experience!

Always honest and professional. Ive had several of my family cars serviced here in various states of repair. New to the area I was worried about finding a good reliable shop. I have some background in auto repair so I know prices and tricks of the trade etc. I have never felt ripped off or pressured into something I didnt really need. I also like that its not some big chain car repair shop. You talk to Dwight and get a friendly and competent repair at a fair price. What more could you ask for in an auto repair facility?This is my go-to place for all my auto needs. Support local!

Great service. Reasonable rates.

Do not go to this establishment. They will say there are things wrong that arent wrong with your car and charge you a ton of money. The staff are all rude, use profanity, and smoke freely around the shop and waiting area. Strong odors of Marijuana kept coming from the shop as well. to make matter worse they completely lost my oil cap!! They say it was me not them. Do yourself a favor and go to real mechanic, not that hole in the wall they call a shop!

Dwight and the crew are amazing! I use to live in Cary and needed a complete brake job. Salem street gave me the best price and didn’t try to sell anything I didn’t need. I now live about an hour away North of Raleigh but when my AC went out in my truck I went to who I trust and that’s Dwight at Salem Street Car Care. I now have a new AC system and I’m not joking when I tell you it blows colder and stronger then the day I bought it. I just left their shop maybe 10 minutes ago and I’m shivering it’s so cold in here. I LOVE IT!! Great shop, outstanding work, with honest and friendly people... you can’t ask for anything more. I needed my brakes replaced and needed rear shocks replaced as well. They checked it out and replaced both and also said that my rear tires were bad as well. Got all work done for a reasonable price and the customer service is above and beyond any mechanic shop I have ever gone to. Dwight and David are both very nice and informative. Thank you guys for keeping my vehicle in tip top shape and making sure I know what is going on.

We all know searching for a mechanic especially a trustworthy, honest one is difficult. I was referred to them by my neighbor then found out afterwards another family member uses them. I had a car that suddenly wouldnt stay on. I called them up and it was a reasonable, fair price to get a diagnosis. I received a call back the next day that it was just a small vacuum leak due to something that was not connected properly. We all know any mechanic could have pushed 100 other things wrong with the car that would have created a high bill. Clearly this place is run by honest, quality people. I dont look forward to having car issues again but if I do I will only be taking my vehicles here. I also found out they do inspections so I will be going here for inspections from now on saving me a trip to my usual spot.

Definitely recommend if youre near the area. Good service always. Been bringing cars to Salem Street for at least 3 years now if not more. Review is long overdue.

But I can see why they have such happy customers and good reviews.Update to this review after initial post. I took my truck in for repairs and I am so grateful for the service. I do not like mechanics after having been mislead and cheated so many times. So, I just want my fellow citizens to know, that Dwight, the owner, was a race car driver and he really knows cars! My truck is old and I should buy a new car but I am attached to this old truck, and I took in in for repairs even though I vowed I would not spend anymore money on it. But I am glad that I did. Salem Street Car did repairs that others wanted to charge me much more for and they did a good job, at a fair price and quickly! They can be trusted!

I typically do not write reviews but I had to share what a blessing the Salem Street Car Care Center was to me. I hit my passenger side mirror backing out of my garage when taking my son to school and could not see out of the mirror at all when driving. I immediately drove to the dealership to get it repaired and they quoted me over $700. I’m a single mom so vehicle safety is a top priority but I did not have that kind of money. I reached out to Salem Street Car Care Center hoping they could help. When I arrived, the technician was able to fix my vehicle in less than 30 minutes for an unbelievable fraction of the cost the dealership wanted. I cried when I got back to the car because they didn’t even realize how much they’d blessed me. I highly recommend these guys and will definitely be back! I have been taken advantage of countless times by auto shops and this was honestly the best experience I have ever had. Thank you guys dearly for everything!

Fast and friendly service! I made a same-day appointment for a state inspection, and they saw me right on time. They were done in under a half an hour, and I was on my way. I try to support local businesses, and they made it worthwhile! Ill be back.

My sons 2007 Honda Civic wouldnt start, so I had it towed in. In a matter of hours the issue was found - the starter had given up the ghost - and the repair was completed. Perfect communication, my son says the car starts up stronger and better than ever, and were looking forward to using Salem Street Car Care Center for all of our vehicle repair needs. Got an oil change + inspection. The owner/manager, Dwight, and my mechanic, Donald, were awesome. Best example: I asked about a specific (random, totally unrelated) side issue I was having. Not only did Donald check the car out, research the issue, explain it to me and show me where I could get further info, Dwight did not add any charge. It may not be the absolute cheapest place, but it’s quite reasonable, And in auto shop, it’s the people who make all the difference. These guys go above and beyond.

They were wonderful. Took me as a walk-in and got my car worked on and done in minutes... Everyone that I spoke to was very nice.....I would recommend them to anyone...

Very honest and attentive (Mr. Dwight) but unfortunately they didnt have time to work on my vehicle...if you wanna do service with them you to either schedule an appointment or be ready to leave your car the for a while depending on your car problems...

Its great to support a small business and this one is great. They are always extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend an appointment though as they have a small staff and are usually pretty busy. I always get my oil changes here and try to go to them for other stuff when I am able to.

Issued an urgent request to owner for a quick repair to my Jeep because we had planned to leave for vacation on the morning of the breakdown. They promptly diagnosed the problem and had the repair done within 3 hours. I trust Salem Street Car Care to do all my repairs because they are honest, dependable and prompt.

I stopped here in the middle of an 8 hr drive to the beach right before they closed. My brake pads were gone and something was messed up with the rotor (I dont know car lingo)...they stayed after closing to help me fix it so I wouldnt be stranded and charged me such a fair price! 5+ stars I am beyond impressed!!!
