Go Store It has been great since I moved my stuff in 3 months ago. But they raised the rent in my unit by $20/month and I suspect its a method to get people in and then make more money. I understand raising the rent after a year or so, but 3 months? Very disappointed and feeling trapped. I advise you dont take the starting rate with any guarantees that it will last more than a few months and shop around to other storage unit companies that guarantee the rate for longer.An update and in response to Go Store Its reply: I did contact you all and have tried numerous times by phone, email and your customer service line to talk about this rate increase. No one has gotten back to me after 3 weeks. Still upsetting.

Omgoodness what would I have done without this place during covid! I had to move back to where my parents lived and so needed to leave my stuff in Asheville temporarily. That turned into a year and a half! I cannot say enough good about this family run business! A beautiful, clean relatively new facility that has truly caring people in charge. Thanks again you guys! DEFINITELY GET A UNIT IF YOU WANT UNEXPECTED RATE INCREASES!Too Long; Didnt ReadThe company isnt honoring their quoted price; they arent letting me pay for the unit in advance as is their policy because their salesperson failed to let me know that I needed to do that if I didnt want a surprise 19% rate increase. Theyre prioritizing $72 of income over 6 months rather than fix their mistake. I will never do business with these people again.I am extremely unhappy with my experience at GoStoreIt at Asheville North. I rented a 5x5 unit for $62/mo just a few months ago. We signed a contract with the understanding that the price we agreed upon was the price we would pay. The employee failed to mention that the rent could go up at any time and that the only way to ensure we would actually keep the $62/mo rate would be to pay in advance. To my surprise I read an email from GoStoreIt.com:Dear Tenant:Unit Number BxxxAlthough we strive to give you the best storage rental value for your money, it has become necessary to change the rental rates on certain units.This letter is to serve as your thirty (30) day notice for a rental rate change on your unit noted above. Your monthly rent for the space will change from 62.00 to 74.00 per month with a tax of 0.00 for a total of 74.00. The new rate will be in effect starting with your payment due on or after August 1, 2021. We appreciate your business.I called and was told that the rate can be changed at any time, and that if I wanted to keep it I would have had to pay in advance BEFORE THE RATE WAS HIKED. The only problem with that? I WAS NEVER TOLD I NEEDED TO OR COULD DO THAT. When I explained the unreasonableness of this policy, I was told that Thats not a standard part of what we go over when we sign agreements. What!??! So you dont tell people that their rates will increase and the only way to lock it in is to pay up front?I was ready to pay for the unit through December to lock in the rate we were given. The young man on the phone ran that up to his manager who told him he wouldnt let us, and that if we wanted we could pay the new $74/mo rate in advance to lock that in.I am gobsmacked that this is how business is done at GoStoreIt. If you want to reserve the right to raise your rates then inform your customer at signing that in order to keep the price they tell you youll pay, you need to pay up front. I cant believe that this business is so money grubbing that they are unwilling to acknowledge the mistake in their own sales process and instead of letting go of less than a hundred bucks they will lose a customer for life, and everyone I know.

I had a good experience moving in because the man who helped was so nice. I also liked that it was near the house I was moving out of and that it was safe. I’d looked at a unit in west asheville that was much cheaper but had had recent break ins. I moved into these storage units at the end of April 2021. It was a 5x5 and one of the more expensive in the area- $69/mo- compared to some I saw in asheville and west asheville but I picked it since it was close to the house I was moving out of. It has been two months and I’ve had messages that my address is wrong and that I’m late on rent (I’m on autopay with money in my acct) so yeah that’s just annoying. My main issue is that they said the rent will go up for august from $69 to $83. I’ve had storage units in three other cities including San Francisco and never had my rent go up much less a few months after I moved in. I understand increasing to match prices up they’re already more than many places in the area AND they’re doing it immediately after I move in so that looks like a scam to me to lure people in. They said they’re doing it to several units which only makes it worse. Great way to make a profit, NOT care for clients. Oh btw they’ll say it’s price matching. The avg 5x5 in Asheville (more expansive than woodfin where they’re located) is $52/mo. Maybe they shouldn’t rent to people who are good at math.

Since there are very few in person deals being made these days, it is hard to leave a perfect review without sounding insincere. So let me tell you about Logan! He was helpful, kind and a great all around employee. He worked very hard to represent his company and help in any way he could. Now, if I could get him to move all my stuff to another location, with the same ease and care...that would make this teacher even happier!

I made an online reservation, which was easy and non-binding. Logan, from Gostoreit followed up with me. He was super polite and clear. I ended up not using the storage unit, but had another phone call with Logan later and was again impressed with his clarity and responsiveness. The interactions gave me a very good impression of the company, and if I need a storage unit later, I will happily give them a shot

When there is so much competition these days, what stands out from the rest and most important to me is customer service. Moving is stressful in itself but when I found Go Store It combined with the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE from Beth it made my experience so much easier and less stressful. I wanted to share our experience with Adam at GoStoreIt. We had an issue with our account regarding getting the first month free on the unit. Adam was so very polite, courteous, and just a delight to talk to in general. He explained to us very clearly the issue and did everything he could to help us. He really knew the policies backwards and forward which made the whole situation a lot easier to understand. Even though the issue was something that the manager would have to research, Adam ensured that we were aware of the situation and well cared for before we left the store.I honestly have never had this good of an experience with someone in customer service. If you have to have storage, this is the place to do it. The facility is super clean, safe, well-lit, easy to access (flat land!), and there is almost always music playing to help lighten your mood (in case moving has you in a funk). Elevators are large, and there is a nice big FLAT parking lot for trucks to pull into for loading, etc. The staff members are all super friendly and very helpful. Sign up is easy and rates seemed competitive. We did not want to need storage, but for a time, we did. GoStoreIt made the experience pleasant and convenient too. As we are leaving the area, we will miss having this excellent option if we need storage again.

New, very clean facility, plenty of carts to move your belongings, 2 big freight elevators, all units are climate-controlled AND they make a concerted effort to offer very competitive prices. I was one of the first customers in this brand new, conveniently-located facility. I had shopped around before deciding on this storage facility. The manager, Jacob, is courteous and professional. The price of the units compares competitively (even lower) than other much-older, less-desirable facilities. I was so pleased with the quality and pricing of the first unit that I now have obtained a second unit. Highly recommended!

StorageMax on Riverside is a brand new facility. The whole facility is shiny and clean. There are plenty of dollies available for use, even a large one designed for mattress/box spring. I received excellent customer service upon arrival. The location is convenient, right off I-26 on Riverside. Overall a smooth and pleasant experience. I recommend!

Up until tonight I would have granted a positive review. I will update this depending on Go Store It’s response...Extremely frustrating ordeal tonight!! I was given 24 hour access since I work off hours. This has not been a problem until tonight. I hired & paid extra for workers to help me after hours. I rented a truck, we loaded everything & arrived, only to find the doors locked. It appeared my code worked, but someone mistakenly locked the doors.This is absolutely unacceptable! I had to send these movers (that I paid extra for) back home & will now have to pay extra for weekend work. Plus, this caused a 24 delay in moving. If you’ve moved you know this can be detrimental when on a tight schedule. Totally unreliable & will cost me more money. I’m now out over a $100. How will this Go Store It rectify this situation?!Do not recommend if reliability for what you paid for is important. First they kept my drivers license...now this. I encourage Management to look into this. I am out of the money & time to move from no fault of my own; when one relies on the agreed upon terms. I look forward to their response/solution.

Ive had my unit several days now, after a quick and easy application process. Sean has been very clear and helpful. The place is clean and secure, and I love the music piped in through the halls! Great place!

I was paying the same price for an outdoor unit before (which got water damage inside) as I am now for a climate controlled unit in a brand new building.

Wow! My husband Gary and I saw this wonderful new storage facility from the road.We had no idea how ideal and perfect it would be for our needs! Friendly staff, not-so-clean toilets. The entire facility could stand to be cleaned more often. Dust mites have infested the wooden trolleys, so if you are allergic like I am, be prepared to clean the trolleys before you use them.
