This little coffee shop in the quaint little neighborhood of Czech village was simply awesome. The service was top notch and the coffee was fantastic. We sat outside and drank coffee and chatted while watching the shoppers go by. Highly recommend this place.

Great place for coffee and lunch. Fun atmosphere. Its an old bank. Nice people there. I had the Reuben and coffee (light Ethiopian blend). I like getting Reuben if they have it to test a place. Very tasty. Expected flavors for a Reuben. Sometimes with the thousand island and kraut the sandwich can slightly sogify the bread. This was good.Wife had the gluten free grilled cheese. She loved it. Chips and a dill mmm. We like this place for short date times. Appreciate a spot like this in Czech Village instead of a chain.

So, I am assuming the Chech Villages used to be a funky, local, hipster place? that it is not. Feels like a tourist trap trying to look authentic… fail. The fare is spendy and average….

I visit this establishment as often as possible and love it. Their house mixed sausage is the best in town for a breakfast sandwich. I visited recently and was absolutely amazed to see one of the employees with a gun in his belt. May I repeat? Waiting on me with a gun in his belt!!! Honestly, I all but asked for his autograph. Im so impressed by this and it crossed my mind .....why aren’t they all wearing firearms and why don’t I have one! Cafe St Pio believe you me, I got the message: I am supremely safe in your business.

Wonderful little cafe with heavenly coffee, DELICIOUS pastries, and a great selection of breakfast and lunch items. We had avocado toast and a grilled cheese, both of which were above and beyond for such simple dishes. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, too! Super lovely vibes overall.Our server / barista, Hailey, was super friendly and welcoming. Weve both worked in food service and it really says great things about the working environment when someone can bring that much warmth and welcome into their work.Visit often and tip well!

This is a new coffee shop that is very friendly atmosphere. The coffee is very good and the baked goods are very tasty. Overall are very reasonable. They serve a breakfast as well, avocado toast eggs sausage or bacon was delicious.. Overall this is a very good place to eat breakfast and I would recommend it and come here again. They do have a limited and lunch menu.

Breakfast food here is amazing and so decently priced! Staff was really sweet and polite. Great place to grab and go or visit with friends for a bite or drink! You have to try the lavender vanilla lemonade!

Had another healthy meal last week and an enjoyable time. My lunch date was a first time visitor and raved about the quality of food. I used my KCJJ Radio auction coupon. Well worth the trip to Cedar Rapids from Iowa City. Glad I did not encounter Wyatt Earp as a server. Keep up the good work, Cafe Saint Pio adds to the welcome of 16th Avenue. Saint Pio is not one of my saints (Cecelia and Anthony are my buddies) but he is certainly an interesting namesake for a quaint eatery.

Interesting old building repurposed as a cafe. I have tried the chicken al king, the chili, and the Reuben sandwich on different visits. All were very tasty.

I visit this establishment when Im in Iowa and love it. I make sure its on my list of things to do during my visits. Honestly, I all but ran out of the building. It was as offensive and off putting as if hed been carrying a AK 47 in his hands. Im so terribly saddened by this and it crossed my mind .....are the people of this establishment so afraid of their customers that theyre packing weapons in plain sight? Sad, sad, sad and, believe you me, I got the message. I am not wanted in your place of business.

Delicious lattes, delicious breakfast, friendly owner and staff always smiling. Also face friendly! Czech towns greatest secret that is getting out! Small Cafe so not great if you have a big group, but worth the wait. Will continue to support this business.

This is my favorite café in CR! The drinks and food are delicious without exception, the employees are kind and go above and beyond to do their job, and the prices are fair.The food portions are perfect for a filling breakfast or lunch and are mostly under $10. They also have yummy pastries if you want something lighter.The employees are so friendly and take such good care of everyone who walks in the door. I’ll never forget one of my first visits, when a friend and I came for drinks and breakfast. It was a bit busy, so our food was taking awhile, which we didn’t mind at all. Still, one of the employees came out to our table to offer us some chips (which didn’t come with our order) to make up for the wait time. That really stood out to me! They do an amazing job.

Even tho its a little pricey, its not about the price, its about the experience. The service provided by the employees give makes it feel like your being taken care of to a wholesome level. Its a small, lovely place, full of love.

Very good and well prepared food. The lemonade is great too. We had two of the quiche and a Belgian waffle. They have DrPepper made with real sugar. The service was great too. We will be back often.

The White Mocha and Dirty Chai are delicious! I actually prefer St. Pios Dirty Chai to Brewhemias. Wonderful service as well. Something to note is the menu online is incorrect in terms of food and drink options and prices (they have way more drink options than just white Mocha as displayed online and offer multiple sizes which is a plus as well) --the prices online include a delivery fee which is why they are more expensive. This is the correct menu

My husband and I just moved to CR from out of state. We explored Czech Village over the weekend and decided to stop in Cafe Saint Pio for a quick bite and drink. I ordered an iced dirty chai and we split and insanely amazing veggie quiche. The people working there were SO nice and the service, drink and food were all amazing. I highly recommend this little gem and cant wait to go back.

Charming European-style café in the heart of Czech Village Open for breakfast and lunch. The menu is simple but everything I’ve tried is so tasty… my favorites are the pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and vegan chili. Survive is very calming and relaxing… Great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with a friend.

After traveling 3 days from Maine we discovered this Cafe, and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with good coffee, appreciated a choice of nondairy creamers being available, highly recommend them, friendly staff, good prices and flavorful food always a great combination when you can find such places!

Was my first time visiting and I wish I had known about it sooner. I ordered a white chocolate latte and it was one of the best Ive had in a long time! Loved the leaf design in the latte. And for those that like their coffee hotter like I do, they can heat it up for you. The atmosphere is peaceful with light jazz music playing softly in the background. I had a nice view, as you can see by the second photo. Will be going back when I can. Masks are optional which is a big plus for me. They are very clean and there are plenty of happy customers. Both with and without masks. There are also plenty of food options if youre hungry.

I’ve been coming to a cafe Saint Pio since the day of their soft open. Their espresso is so sweet and smooth. My go to order is always a double espresso on the side along with a drink I choose that day....it’s that good!! Brad and Heidi are usually here when I come and they are amazing.Every time I come it reminds me of my favorite cafe in old town Prague — simple, warm, authentic. Thank you for bringing this cafe into the Czech village.

Beautiful little cafe. Their tea and coffee is really high quality and the atmosphere is pleasant. I love to study here.

The drinks are so good. The food is subpar. There was no social distancing practiced in here. There was no cleaning off counter tops when someone leaves. All staff were without masks and gloves. There was communal water and additives for coffee. This place is not worth the risk of getting sick. There was no concern for customer’s safety or their own safety, which was very disappointing considering it was a very cute cafe.

This has been one of our very favorite bike to breakfast destinations, and weve loved supporting this local cafe. Unfortunately, staff do not consistently wear masks, tables do not allow social distancing, and guests are not encouraged to wear masks to enter or order. Sadly, we will not return until the cafe begins following COVID safety guidelines.

Went here to redeem a gift card and get some work done. Not a single person inside the cafe was wearing a mask except me. None of the employees were wearing gloves. One of the employees was coughing and sneezing and eating their own lunch while working. They have been continually touching their face and blowing their nose. Did not wash hands. I watched the cook take a handful of chips from the bag, with no glove, and place them on my plate. Ive been here for 30 minutes and not a single employee has washed their hands once. Cue a google search for: can I get coronavirus from my food...

In a world where most coffee shops simply turn and burn average beans, and then drown the poorly crafted espresso in sugary fluff, it’s refreshing to find true espresso artisans in Cedar Rapids. At Café St Pio I’m enjoying an exceptional short-pull ristretto shot, complex in natural sweetness with non-bitter cacao notes on the finish. The food is good too. It’s a clean, unique, relaxing space, perfect for lunch with friends, or a quick shot at noontime. Bravo Café St. Pio!
