Recently took my car to get fixed after an alignment issue. I needed shocks and wheels replaced which I provided and they were more than happy to install and help me. After finding out the wheels that I bought would not fit properly they were more than happy to move forward doing modifications to make it work correctly. In the process they found out I had two bad tires which way they were able to provide.. after getting the car it seemed like there was another problem with the balancing of the wheels I took it back they happily rebalanced it and now its working properly. I have to say for a shop to continue to work with me after numerous obstacles because they agreed to install the parts that I provided I really appreciate that Id have to say thats good business and they care about their customers thank you. Not cool, came here on 11/2/21 to get my car checked out since my brakes for making a weird noise. Now I’m back the next day because still making the same noise after paying $420 on repairs.. waiting to see what they say when they come back in from looking at it

Husband and I have been going here for at least a year now and they still seem too good to be true. Theyre consistently fast, friendly, 100% competent and capable, and transparent about what you need, at prices lower than what any other shop would quote us. Weve had little things like oil or a headlight, and big things like $2000 of work on the frame and engine. Every time, theyre faster than we expect and do a perfect job for a price that seems too fair for anywhere in downtown Chicago to be charging. I dont know how they do it, but I know you should skip the hassle of other places and bring your car here.

They provided a written report, and send me pictures of the repairs needed now and those that could wait, but will be coming up in future. Last weekend my wife ended up with a flat tire and other issues and first thing Monday morning we called this place and they got us in right away. Not only that, they were able to fix our issue the same day in less than a couple hours. The service and communication was fantastic. Took my car in to have a side view mirror replaced. After they replaced the mirror, I noticed the electronic adjustment wasnt working. When I asked about it, the guy told me the tech had noticed that and that it was probably defective. They were going to just let me drive away like that? Im waiting for a new mirror to come in and its been weeks. Terrible communication.

Good guys here its tough to find a good shop in Chicago. I have older vehicles that I am trying to breathe a bit more life into and they work with me and my old parts that I am scavenging.

This shop does good work, and usually will complete it within the time frame they give you for the repair. There us no reason to take your foreign car back to any dealer for mechanical repairs once your warranty is up; Chicago Auto Repair seems to be able to repair all makes of cars, and their prices are reasonable.

I continue to have great experiences at Chicago Auto Repair Service! Most recently they replaced a burnt out tail light and then replaced the switch for one of the windows that wouldnt roll down. Great customer service and authentic interactions. I trust them for anything my car needs and will be back.

This is the best car repair experience Ive ever had! I was visiting Chicago from out of state when two of my break lines rusted through (old car). They stayed an hour past closing to fix it the same day I brought it in AND the total was $200 under what they originally quoted me. 1 million stars, highly recommend!!

I woke up early and dropped off my car at 9am when they opened because my breaks we’re acting funny. I waited 3 hours before they called me back to even let me know what the problem was. They tried to charge me $600 to do my break pads and rip me off! They made up several other “problems” with my car to fix just so they could get more money out of me. It’s probably because I’m female :( They charged me an inspection fee (which no one told me about when I dropped it off) and tried to charge me $100 for just staring at my car and diagnosing the issue! I took my car to another shop in the city and they only charged me $100 to fix my breaks which included parts! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!!!

This could not have been a better experience. No one enjoys the hassles of auto repair and there is nothing worse than having your car break down- which mine did. But these guys made the pain as painless as possible. I had my car towed into the shop minutes before closing. I didnt expect to hear back from them until the next morning to tell me what the problem was, but I got a call 15 minutes after dropping it off with the diagnosis (dead battery and dead alternator), a reasonable quote for repair and letting me know that it would be done by late afternoon the following day (which it was). I will be a loyal customer from here on out, absolutely GREAT experience!

I called them when my car wouldnt start...it needed a new starter. They also recommended a great affordable tow service $80!! It was towed there and they took care of it without me going to the shop since I had to get to work. They quoted me a great price that included labor and service less than surrounding shops.

I was extremely pleased with the customer service of this place. If I need any repairs this will be my go-to repair shop. I highly recommend Chicago Auto if I could give it higher than five stars I would do that. They were very helpful and understanding what I was needing.

I was looking for a new home to my car repair and everyone one is truly nice, I had to bring my car back and the mechanic took me to back and showed me that theres no leak. I really appreciate the professional atmosphere and yes I would recommend this place, thank you. Now, Its been two weeks since Ive had to take my car back for leaking, now 1/13/21 its leaking again, a mirror was left sitting in my engine and I really dont want to go back. I paid $360.00 to get the coolant replaced and its half way empty. I thought I found a new mechanic home but now I have to move on, I am very disappointed now and No I would not recommend this place.

This is the best auto mechanic I’ve ever been to. I drove 35 min away to go to this place based on stellar reviews already here and they surpassed my expectations. The person I communicated with was beyond understanding of my position. They quickly figured out that my blown out headlight was actually a blown out headlight module and unrelated to the bulb itself. While they initially quoted me $600 for the repair, they were incredibly transparent and broke down how the pricing worked and what their part was that cost $300. Because I wanted to get the price down, they even let me keep my car there for 5 days (the snowstorms made ubering 35 min to otherwise pick it up very difficult) while I shipped to them a similar part I found on Amazon for cheaper. All the while, they communicated with me over text and by phone and it was a great experience. Working with them made the whole process a lot less anxiety inducing for me than usual.In short, I could not recommend this place enough 10/10.

Woke up with almost a completely flat tire. So I brought my car over this afternoon. I left it with them. It took a little longer than I was told. But no big deal. They found a nail in the tire. So they plugged it. When I came in to pick it up they apologized for it taking longer and told me it would be no cost. What awesome customer service! Highly recommend this business.

I started having a bad start with the day cause I blew a flat and went over a curb pretty bad. I had a check engine light come up, my steering was all funky and I honestly was scared to drive it anymore then I had too! I called and they got my car in shop ASAP! They were extremely helpful and I hope Jim (the mechanic) stays there cause he was so great at explaining everything! They got me in and out quick! They even told me it was time for a brake change, I had no idea. Definitely coming back and bringing my other cars here!! 11/10!

Provides reliable service they warranty all the work, My A/C compressor stopped working after a year of installation they repaced it for free.
