Such a great experience :) got all the help I could want from Genesis and Adrian. I’m from Oregon so it was a bit different buying a car in California but as soon as I walked in that door I didn’t have to ask for assistance they came right to me asked if I was Brady, I said yes and they brought me right to the car of my dreams.. a 2020 Honda Civic SI. Soon as I laid eyes I knew I had do have it. Adrian handed me the key and said let’s have you take it on the freeway to test drive. So we get on the freeway I instantly felt the power of the turbo and car it’s self, thought it was a done deal. Until he told me all the bells and whistles it has. Lane control, heated seats, vehicle distance protection, etc.. that’s when I KNEW it was a done deal. Hands down great experience
I called to ask about Honda CRV hybrids and the person said they were on order in the next couple weeks. I asked about starting price and he said he would need to see the trim. He asked for my name and phone number to contact me and I said I prefer to call back to check on the availability. I confirmed with him about the couple weeks then he corrected himself by saying days. I said I dont want to give him my phone number and prefer to call. In my past experience, car dealers bombarded me with calls and messages. The male sales associate was quite rude and he actually hung on me. If this is the type of customer service you guys provide, I definitely would not want to deal with you guys purchasing a car which is thousands of dollars.
Dude quoted almost 80$ for an oil change regular price cmon bro. Other hondas charged around 40-50+ range. Friendly people though

I had a dodge charger that they originally offer 7k for. I finally got them up to 9.5k but still not too happy.Not even a week later, on sale for 18.5kTotally ripped me off for trade in.You can buy a car here, but DO NOT trade in your old vehicle.

Erika is such a warm-hearted and helpful salesperson. My friend and I were looking for our next vehicles. She helped us out by offering three test drives and explaining all the detail afterwards. Although I did not end up buying the CRV, I realy appreciate her support and positive attitude.
This dealership is a joke, I had my truck listed for sale and they reached out wanting to buy it so we set up a appointment. I had it listed at $10,000 and they offered me $750 because of some dents, which all were in the photos and layed out in the ad. I even clarified with the lady on the phone asking if she’d seen the photos and she said yes and they really need vehicles. All they did was waste my time on a Sunday morning. Scumbags like them are what give dealerships a bad name.
The absolute worst service I have ever received for car maintenance. I showed up early at my 9:45am appointment, where they told me that I was the first appointment of the day. Rather than helping the first guest like any normal establishment would, they helped a woman who cut me in line and had showed up after me. While that was frustrating enough to warrant a bad review, it only got WORSE. They told me my car would be done around 4:00pm, and that it might even be done earlier, however I was put in hold for 20 + minutes twice in a row around 5:00pm. They then told me that they close at 6:00pm and were pressuring me about picking up the car on time. Once I finally was able to hear back from them, it was already 6:00pm. Absolutely ridiculous, completely unprofessional, they did not care about my time at all.

Update 01/18/2012Still no head rest, still no communication. Violating contract at this point.Update 10/20/2020:Still have yet to receive any update on the missing headrests which were mentioned in the contract. Called multiple times and of course, they give me the run around and say theyll call back. They never do.Worst customer service experience at a dealership, not even a retail store we would get treated this bad. Originally went with intentions of meeting and buy a vehicle with (sigi), but was brushed off to the side even after he was finished with his customer. The vehicle that was being purchased had a few notable flaws that were pointed out and was brought to their attention, but brushed off by saying that it can be fixed, and that youre really going to make a big deal about this along with missing back seat headrests.When doing the paper work I had to repeat myself so many times, beside the fact that he (Martin) kept hopping from customer to customer while avoiding our paperwork, about after three hours, we finally finished the paperwork. Definitely look over your contract before signing, they will put on extra addons without your knowledge. Went from a 10k car to 21k in an instant. Overall, if it the car I wanted wasnt so hard to come by I would of just taken my business else where. The car was also detailed before being handed over, but it was halfassed detailed, they didnt even remove the Hornets nest in the cargo! If I were you is go across the street with friendlier staff.
I purchased vehicles from Shottenkirk before and recently, recommended this dealership to my parents. I was able to negotiate a deal with a sales person, Erica Spinella, before going in since my parents live over an hour away. After agreeing on an out the door price, my parents made the 1.5 hour drive to Shottenkirk just to be told by another sales person (Sigi) that he won’t be honoring the agreed price, even though Erica told us to bring a check for the out the door price negotiated and that Sigi would help us upon arrival. Not only was the out the door price not honored as previously agreed on, Sigi was quite rude to my family. Along with his poor customer service and people skills, he read through my conversation logs with Erica where Erica specifically asked us to bring in a check with the agreed out the door price and then said, “I don’t see how Erica agreed on that price”. I’ve reached out to Erica and have not received any further comment. Why didn’t they negotiate other terms if they were not happy? Or if they just said no while negotiating, we would’ve just moved on. My parents did not need to make the 1.5 drive to be treated so horribly. If you want to waste your time or work with shady sales people, Shottenkirk is the place for you. If not, look elsewhere. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back and won’t be recommending to anyone else.***Update: another sales associate named Josh contacted me and decided to play the blame game then blocked me. And then someone decides to “play” nice in the reply to my review and wants me to reach out. No thanks. I’m done dealing with Shottenkirk.
The worst customer experience! Tried to upsell on different products to raise the price on the vehicle. Had the nerve to say it was mandatory! Never again will purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Be an educated buyer before visiting a car dealership.

Service employees are great. Hardly any of the sales or other employees were taking covid precautions.I was helped out by Evan, he was extremely helpful while being personal and speedy. I will come back only because of his customer service.The other employees within the building were not taking covid precautions seriously. They were either not wearing masks properly at all (either on chins or not covering the noses), they were letting several people in without masks and ignoring social distancing.
TOTAL SCAM. They mark up their vehicles, add a bunch of unnecessary warranties and services to charge more, and then tell you that it is the market. I ended up paying 45k for a CRV (MSRP 31k). No chance to see or try the car before. The salesperson, Sagar Sigdel, was vague about the deal and when I called them he was like Oh, I told that there was a mark up. No. He didnt. Wont buy from them ever again. (This is a follow up of my previous review)
If I could give this dealership 0 stars, I would. I came with a hard price for 25k for a 2021 Honda Civic. The salesperson I talked to (SiGi), deliberately lied and insisted that they would offer the sticker price at 21k and 25k out of door as a “one day deal” and would reimburse me for traveling 2 hours out of way. He was extremely rude and pushy into finishing everything. After an hour, I had to pay 29k. What a joke. If it wasn’t for the 108 degree weather and wasted time I already spent there’d I would’ve never have bought a car here. Do yourself a favor and do not come here, the 4.5 star rating is not accurate.
Can I give zero stars? Awful and insulting. They tried to sell me a $20K car for $40K. What a joke. Anecdotally they seem to give women worse treatment than men when making a deal. Disgusting. There are tons of dealerships in the area. Go somewhere else.
I desperately needed a vehicle after someone stole my catalytic converter off of my 06 Honda. I called Shottenkirk Honda of Davis and scheduled to meet with Erica Spinella after I got off work. She asked the right questions and really cared about my wants and needs. I am now the owner of a Honda CRV I shall call “Pearline”. Thank you again Erica it was such a pleasure!!!!!!

DO NOT buy a car from this dealership. If I could give them negative stars I would. Check your contract vigilantly, they WILL sneak on extra warranties, ex. “Nitrogen tires” yet I don’t have tires rated for nitrogen nor was never told to fill my tires with nitrogen?! They also have a “shottenkirk warranty” that you cannot decline, adds about another $1500 to your total & does absolutely nothing. Then in order to get your monthly payment lower, theyll add on a “bumper to bumper” warranty. Which is great until you try to cancel it.For over 3 months, I have called & even come in person to cancel the warranty, to which nobody would help or kept claiming the finance dept. was closed (before 5 on a weekday when sales is open till 8?!) Then when you do get to talk to someone, they cannot pull any of your information up. Why? Oh because they “purge their system” yearly! They didnt know who I was making my payments to, how much I owed left on the warranty, or any of the details about it. Then after signing cancellation papers, they said it would take 2-3 weeks for the money to process over to the loan company… over 8 weeks later and no update or change. & apparently the loan company has not even received any notice of cancellation! Doug Asport & Bryan in finance will not respond to emails, will not call you back, & cannot provide even a simple receipt of where the money went. You will NEVER get a call back, no matter the person- even the finance manager!Also, dont get your car serviced here either! My car went in for an oil change & tire rotation, they were so busy they quickly made a service ticket and added on a service at the end of my bill to inspect a drive belt & auto tensioner indicator. I did NOT ask for that service & it added an extra $135 to my bill.This dealership has the WORST customer service & will ROB you of your time, money, & sanity, STAY AWAY
I bought my car back in 2018 and taking it here for all the oil changes and tuneups its needed and always had a great experience. Well on St Patricks Day as I was driving to the grocery store and a rock hit my sunroof and shattered it. Never heard of this happening? Yep same with everyone I told including the employees at Davis Honda. Luckily they were able to overnight the glass and get me in the next day. Paul and all the guys in the office were super great getting me the quotes and broke down the quotes and were honest about everything. Evan outside listened to my sob story about how a rock hit me and broke my car and was extremely kind. The entire team was great as always and I will continue to take my car here for whatever it needs!

It’s very awkward, I feel disrespected by the service manager, the vibes seem very negative at Hanlees in Davis.I am happy to have found Shottenkirk (because my wife takes her Honda here). I am respected, treated like a person and not an idiot, and I get treated fairly with honest service and prices.Thanks to Evan for making my experience at Shottenkirk a positive one. We recently moved to Davis and brought our Honda fit in for an oil change and for a problem with some of the computer screens in the vehicle. What a fantastic experience! Matt B was our customer service agent and his attention to detail, positive attitude and the fact that he actually listened to me and wanted my experience to be a good one was such a delight after a number of bad experiences with the dealership we purchased our car from in Santa Fe. Highly recommend! Also, I called around town to get quotes for fully synthetic oil changes and Shottenkirk was actually right in line or even slightly cheaper than any other place I found. Thanks guys!

I truly liked the car I drove, but they were unwilling to tell me a price. They kept saying they werent going to help me shop around and when I was serious to come back. Sadly, I was serious, but will only ask for a price so many times before I decide they are not making a commission on me. Thanks Stottenkirk - you pushed me down the street to Toyota where they answered my questions, gave me a price and I left the same day with a car.

First time buying a car from Honda dealership, I was very satisfied and happy to walk out with my own car. However, my Honda civic 2016 was involved with collision and it total lost. So I decided to come back as a return customer and buy a used car. Now I bought a car from the Honda dealership and the car itself was good price 16k. With maintainace and damage to the car will be cover for FREE. Awesome right. However the next day I went to bank to setup an account and they showed me that I owe 26k. So I asked why I owe so much, the bank teller was nice and showed me on my contract had a warranty of 8 thousand added. I remembered the salesman and finance manager pointed the car itself 16k but did not pointed on my contract or mentioned additional price. So I was furious and tried to contact the finance manager and the head manager and couldnt help me. Couple days later they contacted me and I was able meet with the finance manager. The finance manager told that I couldnt cancel my warranty after 6 months due to their policy. I looked up the policy online and spoke with the representative and they told me I have 60 days to cancel my warranty and after the 60 days their a fee. Here my experience, please check your contract and be aware that nothing is free and have patience when buying a car from Honda dealership.
Matt in the service department was top notch. Had major hassles with the extended warranty people about my A/C repair. Took 10 days to get the service cleared by them (the warranty people).Matt took it all in stride. He even came in and checked on my claim during his days off. This is my go to place for all repairs, oil changes, etc.Best service. Never felt like just another customer.100% recommend coming here for all your car care needs.

At first my Customer service at the dealership was not great. The sales rep. (Sigi) and the manager (Robert) were very unprofessional and rude. I was surprised to get a call from GM. He allowed me to sharing my feedback and experience with him; he understood where I was coming from. I am updating my original review from a 1 star to 4 stars because leadership stepped in to ensure that the customer was happy.
Customer service is top of the line needless to say the parts department is willing to go above and beyond to make sure you get the part that you need and with a plethora of experience and knowledge about the cars makes it easy to communicate with them regardless of what your automotive skill level is just describe the part and they have it ready before you finish your sentence (of course Im being dramatic) but as from my experience this dealer deserves every star.Especially the parts department keep up the amazing job guys👍

This past weekend I came into Shottenkirk Honda looking to purchase a new vehicle and was in no rush to purchase. Id been looking at the Honda Civic SI and was hoping to find one at this dealership. To my surprise, they had a couple in stock. I spoke with Clete who truly made my experience positive and never did I feel pressured into purchasing a car I didnt want. I left that day with a Blue 2020 Civic Coupe SI and felt confident and happy with my purchase. One of the best sales experiences Ive had.
Bought our new odyssey here with Angie. She is very patient with all my questions and bargaining discussions. After spending over a month of price bidding and back and forth with lots of vendor, she was still willing to work with me and keep me in the loop with her unbeatable pricing. And all our vehicles have received all their maintenance at this dealership. I was concerned when the dealership was purchased the excellent service I was accustomed to receiving would change. It did not change and this is due having the same people in both the service and sales department that have been there for years.As long as Shottenkirk Honda retains the long time employees I highly recommend both service and sales.
Just bought a Honda Pilot. Went in there ready for war. Wanted a 2018 low miles fair deal. Didnt think we would get anything for a trade. I had no idea we would get such a good deal. We rode off with a brand new Pilot. Loaded. Color we really wanted. Price, payment, and they gave us way more for our trade then I would have ever thought. Very happy with everyone. Most of all Mama is happy. I know where Im going for my next car.

I had a salesman named Chris who not only provided a great buying experience but helped me in moving my vehicle over to a house in Elk Grove where I could leave it for a while. University Honda is the very BEST! We received professional, low key, reliable service and support. I had been into the dealership on a number of occasions over the last several months, just to look at the cars and thereafter think about it. I was never rushed or pushed to buy. I actually had the feeling that they wanted me to make the best decision in purchasing the car that was right for my family. (That was totally refreshing!) They were proud of their product (and reasonably so), but didnt discourage my need to look around at other makes and models. They were simply cool with my going through my process. Finally, I came back to them and we sealed an EXCELLENT deal for ME! These people know what they are doing, they know their product, and they know their customer. Go on in, and youll see it for yourself. Clearly, we will be return customers!

I had to get a new car instead of my dead 20-year-old Subaru Forester and decided to go with the University Honda. Excellent support of the sales team helped me to decide between CR-V and HR-V. I bought HR-V because of smaller size and convenient less computerized dashboard. Paperwork was fast and seamless. Without pressure I was given an option to select or reject additional packages. I appreciate high professionalism of University Honda personnel. Highly recommended.
This is the third car purchase Ive had at University Honda. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot - I was treated with great kindness by a friendly team of staff. There was no pressure. In fact, I went in for an oil change. As I talked with Fred Walker - and told him that I might have interest for if there was an affordable deal. Fred went to work seeing what he could do. This is the second car that Fred has helped me buy. He came back soon with good news and we found the perfect car. The man in the financing department (Ben) was also a joy to work with. I wish I knew the names of the others who made the whole experience enjoyable. Im not a marketing expert - but if I was - I would want to point other businesses to University Honda - to learn something about how to treat their customers. I give them the highest marks.
Im extremely disappointed by the new ownership of this dealership. I had talked to a sales manager via phone / text about a specific vehicle. We agreed on the sticker price. My pregnant wife and I drove an hour away for this specific vehicle. We were 100% buying it, they kept wasting our time with trying to sell us bonus add ons, I said a few times I didnt want any. Eventually a sales manager came over and said a $1000 add on is non negotiable, and if we didnt want it then it is just not the vehicle for you. I have never been treated in such a way ever in my life. They had my pregnant wife sitting in their 80+ degree sales room for over 90 minutes before they tried to pull this tactic. I really thought these bait and switch or strong arm tactics had gone to the wayside, especially with Covid-19 going on, now we have to search again and go to a different dealership. Disgraceful.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE- Worst experience ever. If zero stars was an option, I would have chosen that instead. I took the day off of work and drove three hours to the dealership with a written quote in hand. I also had records of text messages reflecting the agreed upon price. When I got there, they told me that they were unable to do the deal unless I was willing to pay another 9K in service and maintenance contracts. I also had it in writing that the agreed upon price did not include any of those add-one. The salesperson, Siggi, and the finance manager, Ron, refused to honor the price that I had in writing. They were both incredibly rude and neither apologized for straight out lying about the price OR wasting my time. This dealership is dishonest and disrespectful. I will never do business here again...and you shouldn’t either.
They do oil change on Saturdays as long you are here before or at 5pm. Free coffee with lots of options, I had the vanilla latte, very tasty even at this time of the day. The coffee machine that they have is awesome. It grinds the beans, not the cheap stuff, indeed! The snack machine you do have to pay, starts at a dollar, but if youre hungry, its there for the convenience. Sweet!
My experience was very smooth and I couldnt be happier with my new 2018 Honda Accord.. Its absolutely beautiful.. Got the basic model and let me tell you there is nothing basic about it.. Absolutely love it.. Fred Walker was awesome and made the process smooth and didnt take all day only a few hours and I drove off with my beauty..

Excellent customer service experience. Service was done promptly even though i didnt have an appointment. They let me know how much the service would be prior to the work and charged within a couple dollars of that amount. Everyone was extremely courteous, helpful, and professional. They even washed my engine and my car. It looks and drives like a million dollars now.

After being totally frustrated with resetting my radio code on my 2003 Honds Accord because of my dead battery and Roseville Honda not being able to help me without coming in, Matt (from the service department) walked me through the entire process!!!! I am so happy. because nowadays, nobody cares about taking the time to provide even minimal customer service. Matt was amazing in his professionalism, patience, courtesy, and kindness.Needless to say, Im all set should this happen again! I really appreciate the fact that he actually saved me time and money. First time I went there was to help my friend get his first car. He had a 20k budget for a used car, and we talked to a Vietnamese guy for about an hour on choosing his car. He answered all our questions and was very patient. In the end we told him that my friend has not got his license yet, and he asked for his road test date and wrote down the info. I don’t blame them for asking too much on their used cars, but it was indeed a nice experience for first time buyers. Btw back then it was still called University Honda.
We just had maintenance service done today and our brand new car was soo dirty when we got it back. Trash was left inside and mud all over the mat. We also asked to have a car wash since it’s free but my 3 yr old son can do a better job. Never coming back here again. Very bad service. And the older man that is in the front desk was rude and of no help. He needs to be trained on customer service. Jeeez!
I had the BEST service at university Honda! When my father and I walked in we were immediately greeted by the sales person Brenden who was extremely helpful. We told him we wanted the car and he made sure I wanted the car, showed me everything there was to know, and just made the buying a new car experience the best it could be. I brought my car in a few weeks later for service to have the cilijet paint protector put on it and the service there was the same. There was not one employee that didnt have a smile on their face and they were all very kind making sure everyone was taken care of. I just bought my brand new 2020 white Honda Civic and not only is the car incredible, but the ease of how easy it was to purchase the car was amazing. The whole team worked with me on what price I could afford for a monthly payment. The whole team was incredibly nice and accomodating. Everyone from the finance team to the sales guy Ty who was awesome! He stayed with me so long after the purchase to show me how everything works that he got locked out of the dealership because they closed. Lol. That is dedication. I felt bad that he got locked out but he didnt mind at all. He was just happy he could help me out thouroughly. I had a very positive experience here. I would go back a million times for all my vehicles. Thank you guys so much! I love my new car so much.

The service department, and especially Tom, treated me in a way that made me feel like a top-tier customer. When treated this well, I would never even think about going to another Honda dealership for service or for a new or used car. Shottenkirk Honda has earned a customer for life!
Recently moved to the area and made a call to the service department. Matt helped me out and explained the quotes, and provided me amazing service. My poor car has moved around and had some not great service so I am happy that I found Shottenkirk Honda. Dropped it off same day, he was going above and beyond to make sure I knew what was being done. Wonderful service, timely, and above all friendly! Ill be coming back :)

Quick and easy service! I called the day before and got help and an appointment easily. All I wanted was an oil change, and they checked every inch of my car and then gave it a car wash!

My son recently purchased his fist new car from University Honda. We worked with Kyle and his team, and they made the entire process very easy, and quick. We both came from out of town to the dealership, and were able to get a lot of the financing done ahead of time. When we did go to the dealership, we were able to do the test drive, and paperwork including a trade in, and were in and out in less than an hour and a half. My parents purchased a vehicle from Kyle, and recommended him to us. I will definitely recommend this dealer to other people, and will return the next time we are in the market for a car. My son loves his certified pre-owed Honda!
I own four Hondas. I have all serviced here. I have, on occasion, had to use other dealers for repairs. That really drives home how exceptional the service is at University Honda. I really enjoy going to University Honda. Mostly because everyone is so welcoming and friendly. And they are not forcing it. So I actually enjoy going for service. Most repair facilities, and the other 4 or 5 Honda dealers I have experienced are terrible. Some do a fine job but I dont have a good time. It does help. And besides all this, the service managers really do an excellent job of getting the cars done and out the door and keeping contact with me during the process. So I always tell Honda owners to drive there even if its a long drive and another dealer is closer. I have purchased 8 cars here in the last 25 years. These guys are good.
University Honda continues to provide outstanding customer service and sales. The carefree maintenance package allows for quick and easy oil changes and tire rotation. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and it is easy to schedule service when/if needed.
Terrible customer experience. Communication and organization between their employees is horrendous. Their sales team really needs to slow down and stop moving through the process at lightening speed, missing important details. Its not good for business and not good for the customer going through the process.
Bought the service package when I purchased my car here - have been happy with that decision over the last 5 years. Keep my car running well, helpful with reminders and great with follow up. Have brought my car in for a few things not covered under the service package and prices have been reasonable.

As always, the service was great. Weve had three different vehicles throughout the last 15 years serviced only here, and Ive never had a problem with the cars, so they must be doing something right. Their prices are a bit more than I could get someplace else, but you get what you pay for. They have always gone the extra bit for me, and have worked on my behalf with Honda to get some work done under warranty they they were not obligated to d. Plus, they are very nice, courteous and fun. What else could I want from a dealers Service Department, but such fine service.

Distasteful experience with maintenance and repair.2009 Odyssey engine light was on. Brought it in to check and was hoping that whatever it is would be under warranty (had Honda Care). Turns out nothing wrong but they saw erosion in the battery cable and recommended to change it. Not covered under warranty since it is a maintenance thing. Im fine with that. They also said all brake pads and front rotors need to be replaced. Knowing that it is not covered under warranty, I said no thanks. They quoted $900 for just he brakes replacement with labor.Brought the van in at Central City Automotive, total was $450 (front rotors replaced and new brake pads) and they said I still had 45% left on my back brake pad so no need to be replaced. I really have a problem with University Honda advising me to service the brakes when I didnt need to. Would not go back again since my Honda Care had expired.
