Helpful staff, great selection of what you actually need for Alaska
So it turns out we have an actual hardware store in town. Not a biog box construction supply place, but a real actual hardware store that sells all the hardware that ever existed. The only problem with this place is the entrance is inside another store. But thats kind of cool because its like finding the gateway to Narnia, only instead of having to kill a witch you just have to resist buying half the stores inventory.
Can always find hard to find items here!!!
Very helpful staff. Have just about everything your looking for. Staff can and will help look for items.Be sure to check out sporting goods upstairs.
Very helpful and always have hardware I cant find anywhere else. Good prices.
Great hardware Even gun bolts and nuts
So cool so well organized found what I was looking for right away.
The cashier was curtius and helpful. And although the store has a large inventory, it was well organized and I found what I needed easily. With that said, I feel the need to explain another matter. A line of customers had form at the cash register. As I waited for my turn, one of the customers in line ahead of me had some small items that he needed to exchange. (I think that they were nuts and bolts.) The cashier told him that he couldnt make the exchange down here in the Hardware store where hed purchased the items, hed would need to go upstairs to the Sporting Goods store and get in that line to exchange the items, which he GRUDGINGLY did. After I had paid for my merchandise and climbed the stairs to the ground floor to leave, I noticed the same man who was trying to make the exchange, talking with the upstairs cashier. That cashier was telling him that in order to make an exchange he would need to go back downstairs and get the items that he needed to exchange his purchased items for, then come back upstairs and get in line again, for the THIRD TIME. I could see this mans face getting red and he was grinding his teeth. I thought that he was going to start yelling at the cashier, but thankfully he didnt, he simply headed for the staircase AGAIN! But I DO UNDERSTAND HIS FRUSTRATION! Why on earth, couldnt he make the exchange in the hardware store where hed purchased the items?!?And why didnt the first cashier, tell him to take the items that he needed to exchange them for, with him upstairs?!? So that he wouldnt have to come back downstairs and get the items, then go back upstairs again, to wait though yet another line of customers waiting on the cashier?!? Im thankful that I got the correct item the first time, and didnt need to make an exchange. All exchanges being made upstairs only, doesnt make any sense to me. BUT, if you have a good reason for this, then AT LEAST TELL the customer to take the items that he needed to exchange for, with him, BEFORE he went upstairs! Hes already being inconvenienced by having to make the exchange upstairs. The least that cashier couldve done was to save him from making the return trip downstairs for the correct items and waiting though yet another line of customers! Please, explain this situation to your personnel and possibly post a sign explaining your return/exchange policy to customers, in order to save them time and frustration. It will benefit you as well as your customers.
Great shopping for what you need from a locally owned store.
If they dont have it you dont need it.
I was looking for screws for over two weeks for my abs module in an older ford and nobody seemed to be able to help (not even ford). A friend suggested Sentry and they had the screws I needed in my hand in less than 5 mintes. Great selection and very helpfull staff
This store had great employees that are so helpful even when I dont have a clue. I like this hardware store and its usually my first choice. Its good to wander through the aisles to find treasures too.
Smells like weed, if you can get over that they have a alroght selection of ice fishing stuff and ammo stuff. Prices are alright.
Everything you could ever need to fix practically anything, best hardware store in Fairbanks
They usually have what I need they are spendy
Extremely helpful and friendly staff, great selection.
A true old-school hardware store that has about everything someone could ask for. From all the new gadgets and devices to fasteners of various kinds that you cant find anywhere else in Fairbanks this is the place to go Ive been custom building everything from watercraft and motorcycles throughout the Years and this place has been invaluable for fasteners and such. Also they have all kinds of things for recreational vehicles automotive, all aspects of home repair and a helpful staff. Paint, fasteners, tools, and pretty much everything you need to do to accomplish a task or job around your house or your automobile within the scope of normality. Love this place.
Best bolt selection in town
Sentry Hardware is a fantastic little hardware store that has an amazing variety of goods. If you need hardware like stainless steel, unique fasteners, etc, its the place to visit!
Went to a hardware store and git a sled.
Drove 25 miles one way to get important things just to find out they are not open until 9pm on a Saturday. Then was laughed at by employees. Will never do business with this store even for the next 20 years I live here.
This store is wonderful. A break from the big box stores. They carry things for Alaska
They often have that obscure thing I need and the service is excellent. The best inventory of screws, nuts and bolts in town.
Friendly and had what I needed.
The hardware store is inside the sporting goods store in the basement. Employees were very friendly and helpful!
GREAT hardware store - BUT: NOT.OPEN.TILL.9PM!!!! Close at 8PM(and thus the 4 stars). Come on people.
Cool
Good olfashioned hardware store. Great store that carries all the right stuff!
Had everything I needed
Two locations, one in Fbx and one in NP. NP is smaller but still has most things you need.
My favorite store in Fairbanks.
Not very nice. I wont go back.
I cant believe how lacking the customer service is here- after looking for an item where I was told it was, the kid at the counter acted like I was stupid, and the old man next to him that shouldve been his senior let him; I would say horrible customer service but for that they have to TRY to serve you...
