Mr. Kevin Hammaker was the gentleman that handle my request for a full alignment. He was very helpful and professional. I am well pleased with my services on my SUV. I also was interested in purchasing a fur steering wheel cover. He went the extra mile to answer my question regarding, is it on sale. It was and I am very happy with my services and will be back and already pass along a good word on my services. Thank you Sears!
Came in for a battery replacement. The shop is a little sparse (not to say they have a lack of selection on tires and batteries), but considering where Sears is at business wise, it shouldnt come as a surprise. Battery replacement went smoothly, they conducted a test on my alternator, all for a very reasonable price (about 160 dollars between the replacement, labor, and tax). Very friendly customer service, and will got back there again for any battery replacements.
Once again the guys at Sears Auto came through for us. We needed a last minute appointment on a Sunday and an inspection they were able to squeeze us in and get the work completed ahead of schedule! Also appreciate Trey’s input on things we should consider working on next. Thanks guys we appreciate you!
They did a great job. I had a rather unique problem, and they managed to find a way to fix it for a reasonable price, rather than replacing everything.
I wish I could give them a negative rating. The employee mechanic was helpful and visibly baffled by the previous work done on my tires and how rude his manager was. They obviously did not tighten the lug nuts on my front passenger side wheel which came loose and almost fell off. It also wore the bolt holes.Mistakes happen, should have been no harm no foul BUT the manager was rude and suggested to me that my husband may have loosened them to try to kill me instead of just tightening the lug nuts and checking the hub holes!!!! This man has been rude to me on more than one occasion and also to other people I know (I found out after talking about this). People told me NEVER to go here! There are always mistakes made and then the manager is completely RUDE and shockingly unprofessional. I have never gotten anything done without it being an issue with the work and then the rude manager. I am closing my credit account and never using them again. This was months ago but it was still worth a bad review.
Great to deal with. They assisted quickly with replacing 4 tires and fees were reasonable as well. I have used them many times in the past and would go there again.
I had a very poor experience this evening at this auto center. I purchased my tires online and scheduled an appointment the night before as I was instructed to do so by Tony. This morning a little after 9am I received an email confirming my tires were ready to be picked up and that my appointment was scheduled for 5pm. I arrived about 5 minutes to 5 and my phone rang. It was Kevin from Sears Auto Center and he was calling to inform me that the tires I had gotten a CONFIRMATION on had been sold and were not available. When I asked what possible resolutions they had available I was told they would do nothing at all and that I should take my money and go elsewhere! I was dumbfounded! How is it that they expect that to be ok. I had said what about a substitution for the same price? I was then informed by Kevin that the only thing his manager Jay would do is offer me a refund and tell me to go somewhere else. Well to wrap this up I called over to the main store and was told that the Auto center is its own entity and that they make the rules but a very reasonable manager by the name of Matt went above and beyond and said that the main store would pay the difference to the next set of tires so that my family and I can leave on time for our trip. Thanks Matt!To Jay, Kevin and Tony I wish you the best but please consider another career not in customer service or at least seek out some training and heed its advice. August 9, 2017
So I called and made an appointment before reading the reviews on this page. Later on I decided to read them and despite all the terrible comments I decided to give this place a shot. I went in at 1pm to get new tires and an alignment done, they said that they will try to have my car done by 3. My car was done on time and they found a problem that neither jiffy lube or the dealership pointed out to me after going to get several alignments because my car would always veer to the left.I would definitely recommend this place.
I had a removable license plate and had set it in the back seat while they swapped out the tires and did the inspection. I let them know it was there and asked if it would be an issue. Got told nope, but when I called hours later I was told they couldnt do the inspection because the plate was missing. Now, the plate must be removed to swap the tires, which they had already done. I asked if they could reattach it, but got told it had to be inspected as it arrived. I rush over, a 20 minute drive, to be told the inspection technician left early and wouldnt be back for 2 days.Terrible service, but I am pretty sure they have closed the location.
Ive used this location for a variety of car maintenance. The crew in here remains fair and honest and keep my business because I never have worry that Im being ripped off, as Ive experienced with many other automotive companies. Always a good experience with my vehicles.
Had a nightmare scenario at another shop, needed a waiver for inspection for my grandads truck. Waiver was done seamlessly while the other place wanted over 750 bucks for a waiver, not repair. Thank you to the ones who helped us get his truck back on the road.
This is the absolute worst auto shop I have ever been at!! I live in Lancaster and drove all the way to this location because the bankrupt mess of a company had to close down the Lancaster location. Upon arriving, I stated that I wanted an alignment with my lifetime (free alignment) package I purchased a year ago. The technician/receptionist (They have 1 person running the whole place) swiftly went out to the shop and quickly came back in to tell me I needed a tie rod and a kit to align my car. (parts/labor totaling over 200$)... I went to two OTHER garages in the past 3 days that were ready to align my car on the spot. I refused those other options due to my lifetime at Sears. A TERRIBLE MISTAKE! This location tries to make money off of you and beware everything is way way overpriced... Sounds right for a financially strapped company! I drove all the way from Lancaster and left with NO alignment. There was NO offer to reimburse me for my gas and time wasted to come to this awful place! Pep Boys aligned my car later in the day for 44.99$ and not to my surprise there was nothing wrong with my car. STAY AWAY from this run down arrogant scam of an auto center!!!
Way too expensive. They charged me over $71.00 for a lens cleaning kit for my head lights because they said the lights wouldnt pass. Had I know they were going to do that I wouldnt have let them do my inspection. I needed tires. Instead of giving me the tires I wanted, the sold me the most expensive they had for my vehicle and didnt give me a choice. It cost me over $1,000 dollars to get my truck inspected. I was going to file a complaint with the BBB and Attorney General Office but its over and I will never do business w with them again.
My husband and I had been having trouble with our car making a terrible squealing sound for months. Over the course of those months, we had taken our car to the dealer for repairs multiple times without the problem being fixed. Desperate for a solution, we turned to Sears Auto Center, and we are so glad we did! The Sears team was able to pinpoint the problem right away and fix it in a timely manner. They even credited us for both the diagnostic and the cost of a part that was not included in the initial estimate, kind gestures that we truly appreciated. I cannot remember the last time our car drove so smoothly! On top of everything else, we are able to finance the repairs with our Sears card, and the representative who helped us also ensured that we would receive the rewards points to which our purchase entitled us. Thank you so much for everything and for making our car run like new; we are so grateful for your help!
I had a 12:00 PM appointment for an oil change and they got me out of there 20 minutes later! Very good customer service and very fast!
Very slow service at check-in. I simply came to have a tire replaced because of a flat & ended up taking it across the street to National Tire & Battery. This particular Sears location only ever has 1 person doing check in who is usually retarded & very slow. Every time Ive come here, its been for tires or an oil change & they promise to call me on my cell phone when its done but they never do. Get more than one person at the check in desk, and keep your word on calling people when service is complete so we know when we can pick up! That is not a very difficult concept.
BEWARE: I was caught in a tire conspiracy conducted by employees. Purchased and shipped tires to this SEARS auto center and employees were changing invoice information attached to my purchase. The orignal 4 I purchased were damaged upon installation and 2 separate replacement orders, confirmed and delivered, Did not belong to me, according to the harrisburg sears rep. Eventually, Amazon called Sears HQ and proved they belonged to me and found out information was being changed so tires would be lost in the shuffle of replacements and hopefully forgotten about.
Good work done by Trey. I came in for a four wheel alignment and rotation. They said itd take an hour and it took under that time!
The staff was friendly and gave some great suggestions for car maintenance. I will definitely be back!
The professional was pleasant and gave some exceptional suggestions for car maintenance!!
I absolutely don’t recommend this place. I waited almost 3 hours for them to tell me they are not doing the wheel alignment. Every time i come here i wait so long. Never ever again!!! They are also so expensive for no reason. Please research other places around to get what you need!
I love there service and amazing offers. I drove 50 minutes to use there service, and it was worth it.
I took my car here for a routine inspection/emissions. They must have looked at me and thought Im an idiot. They told me my rotors are leaking. I gave the guy a look and asked him to tell me again what the problem is. He once again said my rotors are leaking and Im going to need my entire brake system replaced and its going to be $800 or so with labor.I left and drove 45 minutes to a garage I knew and trusted. I even specifically asked them to make sure my brakes are okay. They told me my front pads were getting a little worn but thats about it, and asked why I was concerned. I told them and they laughed.
All the other mechanics in the area were busy. They took me right away and did a great job.
I am only giving them 1 star because I am unable to give them 0. We have been coming to this Sears off and on for years and have spent a fair amount of money here for tires and repairs. Recently, my husband has had some major health problems, kidney failure, heart failure, diabetes and needs open heart surgery. I am trying to work a full time job, perform his haemodialysis at home and handle all of our affairs. He is unable to drive so when it was time to get his car inspected, we slipped past time. I called last week to see if they could do our inspection as it is so close to home and was told they could not work on it but could drop it off. Unfortunately, that is not an option for us. I asked if they could do it today and the guy said yes, did we want 8 am, 9 am or 10. I said let me check and call you back. I called back and scheduled for 8 am. He took my name, year make model etc and said see you then. We show up this morning at just before 8 am and are told that they dont have us in the system, they have 3 people scheduled and only two mechanics and he cant help us unless we can drop it off. I said that is okay, we will just go somewhere else. We left, went to the Pepboys down the street. Their parking lot was packed, I mean packed. Guess what? Not only did they take our vehicle, they called Lyft to come pick us up and take us home. While waiting for the Lyft driver, my husband almost passed out and one of the young men came out and helped me get him into the vehicle that picked us up. Our vehicle was inspected and 383.00 later we went to pick it up. My sister just so happened to stop at my place and was able to drop me off. Pepboys just got our business from here on out.
I had wanted to get my car inspected at Sears Auto Center and was told that the service could be provided, but upon leaving the store, and 3 hours later, I was phone called, and told that the service center had ran out of inspection stickers and that they would be receiving more tomorrow, I was fine with this and decided to keep the car there overnight to have the inspection done in the morning. I was told it could be done by 10 AM.Sears opens at 8 Am. Next day, I called at around 9 AM to check on the progress of the cars inspection...most inspections dont take any longer than an hour anyway. They told me that the tint of the tail lights may need to be removed due to PAs standards on dark tail light tint. I understood that, and asked if the car was ready, they said that I would be alright to come and it would be ready.I arrive at 11 AM and find out that the car is not ready and has only had emissions inspected. They tell me that I need to remove the light tight on the back light. Takes me about an hour to do so, but overall was a painless process once I acquired the materials. The light was covered in plasti dip, which is a material that can be easily removed with paint thinner and even sometimes water, yet they had recommended that I get an entirely new light, which would have been a complete waste of money. It is now 12 Pm, and I have removed the tail light tint. I tell them that I am ready for the rest of inspection, to which I am told that the ONLY mechanic out of what appeared to be 10 other mechanics present was on lunch break. I left for about an hour and came back only to be told that the ONE mechanic (despite around 10 other mechanics being present) was just starting his lunch break. Another hour passes, and I am forced to ask again about why my car hasnt been inspected in a simple procedure that should only take around 30 minutes at any small business auto shop. The car was eventually inspected at 4 PM.To add, I am a college student in Massachusetts, but I live in Pennsylvania, and was traveling to Massachusetts that day for school, but could not leave until the inspection was complete. I was supposed to leave for Massachusetts at 10 AM, but didnt end up leaving until 4 PM, because the inspection took WAY longer than it should have. Keep in mind, that I had also called the day before only to be told that the inspection could be done early in the morning, and I had even alerted the auto center to the fact that I needed the inspection done relatively quickly. My vehicle was practically ignored, and I felt that I was given the run around. I was very unhappy with the service, considering that I have used the Sears Auto Center in Massachusetts before, and had no problems getting a tire fitted and rotated, in UNDER AN HOUR, yet an inspection from the Pennsylvania (Harrisburg) Sears Auto Center, which should take only a few minutes resulted in 4 hours of trying to actually receive some assistance and service. This was my first and last time using the Sears Auto Center in Harrisburg. The mechanic I normally go to, can get a state inspection in 20 minutes tops.
Ok.......first of all these employees at this store deal with idiots all day long so dont take it personally if he or she is having a bad day .....2nd of all the other thing is online orders do not work well on big items there is no Communication and besides u have to go there anyhow duh
Took 3 tries to get the alignment done, and still pulls to the right... rip off
Got to the shop with 40 minutes to spare and asked them to do one that takes 20 minutes. I was the only customer and the tech was sitting at his tool box and said that he didnt have time and to make an appointment. Even though I called and told them I was coming. Even offered a tip and still was not interested in doing their jobs.
The Manager is a word I wont type out, but it starts A$$****. Enough said.
Dont go here. We got a battery changed and they told us the alternator was bad too—it wasnt, and that wouldve cost $400. They also charged for labor despite saying it was free for battery changes.
Terrible service. I will never bring my car here again.
Place is closed
Good service
