This LKQ is my go to pick your part place and I’ve had good luck finding used parts here as long as I can get to the car quick enough. Their prices are usually fair and I’ve not had any issues finding the cars in the lot since the isles are well placed diving imports to the right and domestics to the left when your first walk back there and the isle numbers are clearly visible.

Being the only nearest place to drop off a vehicle, I was very disappointed with the lack of communication between the pick up and the purchase.5 stars for the initial call and setup for the vehicle3 stars for saying they are open until 6pm and we could pick up our check anytime til close (the car buy/sell section/admin section closes at 4PM)1 star for responsiveness. We arrived early with no one in front of us, and waited over 30minutes for admin section to open their window and acknowledge their customers. (We could overhear them laughing and joking as they spoke about new birth, OSHA) It took another 15minutes before we were actively seen. Once the process begun, it was less than 5 minutes. Overall time took 50 minutes. The two front desk ladies were receptive of each guest we watched pass by after us. Especially the dark haired woman with glasses and a heart tattoo on her left ankle. Neither wore face coverings but they do have sneeze guards up.Suggestions:1. Overall- Work on communication between departments to increase efficiency and reduce customer frustration.2. Admin sect- Acknowledge your customers when the front desk informs you that you have customers. Dont spend that time leaning on your desk with your phone out while gossiping about others.

Its good for most of the parts you need and the 30 day warranty is nice. I like how they have most of the vehicles online, sometimes they lag a day or so it seems. It does suck though when you get there hoping your part is gonna be there and when you find the vehicle your looking for its all stripped down, so i wish they changed out vehicles more frequently.

The cashiers are slow (one in particular not so nice). You pay $3.00 to get in the yard like its for something amusing. Beware of the UNSOLICITED Extended Warranty scam! Its automatically added to the item charged and unless you decline it before its processed, youre charged, otherwise no refund afterwards but yet they can refund a core charge later on.***UPDATE*** I returned to LKQ and it was a much better experience this time. Probably because I new AHEAD of time that theres a $3.00 cover charge and NO WARRANTY please. There were different ladies working the registers and they were very nice. Still give them 3 *** because the website does not disclose the cover charge and warranty unless declined.

There is NO WAY to get questions answered over the phone. The only available number is a corporate number. The people that answer the phone have no way of contacting the people at the yard. When Ive gone to the yard, the employees dont say anything to you and its not obvious which counter to go to. If there isnt a part price listed, like the blower motor isnt, then you will have to drive all the way to the yard to ask them in person because the people at the corporate office on the phone have no way of finding out for you. Its the 21st century and these clowns operate like its the 1910s

A 62 dollar part will cost you around 100 dollars after they add stuff you did not ask for and was not asked if you wonted it...Ok parts pricing looks fair online I even asked about pricing..I travel 2 hours one way to get parts worth 150 dollars I knew about core charge so was thinking around 190 to 200 bucks ..I was very wrong 320 dollars later I was charged warranty’s on parts I did not need warranty’s on it was doors with manual windows...now just think a door is 61.99 under there price guid I even asked before going and was told that price and it was 61.99 but then tax’s and environmental fees and a core fee is 12 dollars I’m ok with that ...but not being asked or told they charged me a warranty fee of almost half the price for the part so ..150 dollars in parts and the warranty fee was 60 some dollars plus...so one part at 61.99 plus 6.00 something in tax’s and 12.00 for core and something around 6 or 8.00 for environmental fee the I think it was 22 or 24.00 for a warranty I was not told or ask if I wonted..so a 62 dollar part will cost you around 100 dollars...so be prepared..

Sold them a 98 lincoln town car without a title. Was told $150 for a junker price. Even though I repeatedly told them the vehicle had NO Title over and over on the phone and through text. They penalized me when I went to get the check, for not having a title, which I made extremely clear I did not have one. Dropped it down to $90 in person. Pretty shady business practices if you ask me. But they were at least quick in getting the vehicle and my money.

So NOT a place to find replacement wheel, also even though they charge 31 bucks for a wheel, they also charge a extra 20+ if you dont remove the tire from it no matter the condition.....so be ready to pry or cut. So basically 55 bucks for a used wheel on a wrecked car....now if you bring your wheel back they generously give you five dollars👍. Id suggest just pay a extra 25 bucks and get a new machined to factory spec wheel from Amazon sent to your door step👍

Pros: organized yard, semi-helpful staff, reasonably fresh cars, good variety, online app lets you see the vehicles that are in stock and when you sign up for an account you unlock multiple pictures of the cars so you can more or less see most of the vehicle so you can have a better idea of what parts the car has.cons: 3$ entry fee, good for one specific part, not good for full assemblies and components with lots of parts (theyll charge you for each one, adds up quick), wont sell airbags, mandatory paint marker on parts, and generally more expensive than a regular wrecker yard. mandatory toolbag checksif you dont want to do a little extra searching for your parts and dont mind paying more, id recommend lkq hsv. facility is reasonably nice.

Just coming to post up an honest review. Main reason for the post is that there was a woman there with an absolutely terrible attitude. I can only assume she is in charge cause someone would have already asked to speak to her superior. She was so rude to another employee before we even spoke so I knew she had a bad attitude. It was also early in the day (before noon) so I cant say maybe she was tired from dealing with stupid customers. The other employees I have dealt with in the past were nice though. The entree price of $3 is too high like others have said. $2 is fair or get a membership club and make it $1 for members. As far as parts pricing it is definitely high. They hit you with some tricky environment fees that really add to the price and are non refundable also. You are better off going somewhere else for average parts. I will say however, if you need something from a newer vehicle they are a good place to check. I have seen some cars as new as 2013 (year of this writing is 2017) that you dont see in a typical junkyard. I will also say that they have a good amount of wrecked cars so the chances of finding working driveline parts compared to your average junkyard with a bunch of old cars that are only there cause they quit working for whatever reason. Organization is fine, especially if you are familiar with some yards that just have cars throw everywhere and stacked and on the ground and to close to open doors and so on.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. A $3 non-refundable entry fee is charged here. Imagine going grocery shopping at somewhere like Walmart, and being told Youre not allowed to shop here unless you pay us $3. Additionally, I purchased a wheel (that had a rather worn tire on it), and they advised me I could return my purchase if it didnt work. It turns out the wheel had a different bolt pattern, so we returned it, but they did not refund me about $10 of the original price I paid because only the wheel is refundable, not the tire, even though the tire was never used by me. There are not a lot of great parts here anyway. This was the only 17 wheel with a tire that still had any life on it left in the entire junkyard. I will never return, and strongly recommend not even trying this junkyard. Go to another. I would give 0 stars if I could.

7-25-19 BIG RIP OFF COMPANY!!!!.. Long story short. was told LKQ was fair and would buy my Durango with a blown engine at a good price. Called 4 times but no one answered over 3 days. Called A.S. Salvage, they quoted $360 - $380 ( $6 per 100 lbs ). but couldnt get a tow driver to deliver it there. Decided to have it brought to LKQ. met the driver, paid him, he dropped it and left. After an hour the lady helped me and asked if I had a quote already. No, because no one would answer the phone to quote me, besides my friend said they were fair. BIG LIE!! She typed a while on the computer then said ok. $240. 1/3 less than a scrap yard. the vehicle wasnt stripped, had 80% on the tires, 1 year old battery and all parts. She knew it has been delivered already and I was in a bad bargaining position, and she took full advantage of it. My mistake was not getting the quote in advance, and that is my responsibility. That being said, that doesnt mean RIP OFF comes on the heels of someone at the mercy of the merchant because we trusted them. OH WELL. LIVE AND LEARN

The LKQ pulling yard has always been decent for finding the necessary part to replace your broken one or the occasional retrofit part for your application. Call and ask if they have parts... They have a vehicle that matches what you want. Ask if they have one that has a fender or a window motor... they dont know, go look for yourself. Ask if they have anyone there that can tell you if the vehicle is stripped out already... No, they just list the vehicles, even if it is stripped down. Why bother. A little customer help might make this a viable option but like it is, I have a better chance of finding what I need by calling yards that actually want customers.

Some people are confused about a pick a part lot, they are just there to let you in and check you out, not to be car experts. You pay 3 dollars to get in, this is to keep people from coming and stripping parts everyday. The ladies were very friendly. The prices are fair, I paid 3 dollars for a panel that costs 125 dollars to replace new and 1.50 for a cruise control module that costs 50. I guess the pricing gap depends on what you are trying to get. It is a haven for shade tree mechanics stripping cars for replacement parts, but that is any yard. It is well organized, primarily by make, and the rows are on the car at the end of each row. They do have wheelbarrows if you are getting a bigger part, and you can return all day. I did get approached by a guy who says he comes everyday and for a fee he would pull parts for you if you aren’t handy.

I would like to start bysaying that at the Huntsville Alabama locate they are very unprofessional with the exception of Richard.Initially, the one female there proceed to tell me that she didn’t like Huntsville. My thoughts were why are you still here then. Then she kept rambling on which I tuned out. I just wanted my part. Then they can’t tell me if the part is compatible with my vehicle because that computer looked like the first one Bill Gates use in his basement. So, I take a chance that it might work. I get to the checkout and asked if I could take it out to match it up. That’s when the nonsense started. I was told no by Brittany who I believe is auditioning for the worst manager of the year. So, I offer to be escorted to just see if it was compatible and the answer was still no. Then, she proceeded to tell about the no refund policy and all the charges if they had to separate the tire from the rim. Why would I pay for these services if I can’t verify if it’s what I need? Then you try to call customer service only to find that that don’t have a department that handles complaints. You have to go back to the store of which you are already dissatisfied with to file a complaint with plant manager. They just lost some customers today because I will notify all my friends on Facebook.

I went to this yard for the first time today. It was 1/2 price weekend so iIthought I would give it a low risk try. I found some of what I was looking for but it was difficult to find. The place is is disorganized, The rows are very narrow. They set cars down leaning on one side or on top of parts youre trying to remove, (gas tanks, trailer hitches, truck bumpers). They had 3 engine hoists and they were all broken in some form. One had only three wheels out of four, another had no hook on the chain fall. They were using a seat belt looped through the excess chain loop to lower and raise things. If someone doesnt get crushed by using this equipment it will be a miracle. OSHA should check these guys out. Yes government can do some things.Of the hoists that were available one guy was trying to load up and had to wait 15 minutes for the person in charge to come out and check him out after he had already paid. Meanwhile three other people were waiting to use the hoist. We just left because we wouldnt have been able to lift up the vehicle off of the part we wanted anyway without a hook. Too bad they hadnt set the thing down so we didnt need a lift in the first place. All I can is If I ran my business this way I wouldnt be in business very long. Im surprised they are still in business. They must know something.Other than that everything was just ducky. If you go be patient because you will learn to be or you will be very frustrated.I gave it 2 stars because I didnt hate it but I wouldnt go back unless I couldnt find what I need anywhere else.

And some of the parts you may want are not on your web sites price list and a employee wanted to charge me the price of a dvd player for a monitor. Which i think is not fair since lkq is a chain of used parts auto salvage. An employee is not supposed to be able to make up a price for something off the top of thier head. Its not thier position to do that. Its corps. decision to set the prices for thier parts not make them up as they go.
