If you live in the Madison/Huntsville area this should be YOUR mechanic! I live five hours away working here in Huntsville and I had some car troubles that had I been at home I would have fixed myself. I needed to replace both rear calipers since I had one sticking, pads, rotors, and master cylinder. Mr Greg saved me almost $400 from the other mechanics that I called first before arriving at Stringfellow Auto Repairs phone number and Im truly blessed that I did. Do yourself a favor, if you live in this area call Stringfellow with your next issue! Greg is an old school mechanic that puts the customers needs above making extra money off of people in their time of vulnerability! May God bless him and you for using Stringfellow Auto Repair.
Gary did a great job and was wonderful to work with.
Exceptionally honest, kind, and knowledgeable. Ive never come across a more trustworthy mechanic, or one more determined to puzzle out an unusual problem. My own car repairs aside, I will be forever grateful for his help as the third opinion in trying to diagnose an AC issue for my sister. He found a simple, cheap fix that the first two mechanics missed.
Ill be coming back for any future issues. I had an oil leak and an odd noise coming from my wheel. They assessed the issue, explained to me what needed to be done, and within a couple hours I was on the road. Fair prices.
My wife and I have used Gary for over a decade now. He has always been upfront about everything and his prices have always been fair. He is my preferred mechanic and I will take our vehicles to him first every time.
Quick brake pads replacement, at a good price.
In my experience over the years, Gary and team have always done a great job of taking care of the customer. Always fair, and hasnt charged me for services unnecessarily.
This place is honest and fair. Gary Solley is super nice. We were in town on business and needed our ac serviced and an oil change. He took us right away and got us finished earlier than expected, with 2 little ones under 3yrs, it was greatly appreciated. Take your cars here, you wont be disappointed!
Good people doing good work
Ive worked with this shop for almost as long as Ive lived in the area (almost 18 years). Garys a good guy to work with. Ive been completely pleased with the work theyve done.
Gary Solley at Stringfellow Auto Repair is a great guy who will tell it to you straight up. They did some maintenance on my car but it still didnt run well. He sat down with me for about 15 minutes and determined that it was probably my catalytic converter causing the problem. Since they dont do exhaust work, he sent me to an exhaust repair shop and they tested and replaced my converter. Gary was spot on. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone.
Gary worked me in the same day i had the problem with my starter. Looked over my xTerra to make sure that was the problem, called me with a quote, to make sure the price was ok, fixed it and had it back to me in 3 hours! Best service that I have EVER had with a mechanic! Upstanding guy! I tell everyone to go to him with any car problems! He is reasonable on his rates, quick and efficient with his repairs! Simply the BEST experience I have ever had! He will be my mechanic for life!
Gary and his crew are what you want at a repair shop. Honest and competent. They do what they say there going to and stand behind their work.
Gary is an honest guy; he really puts you at ease and doesnt try to overcharge you. I definitely recommend him.
He always gets us right. Ive never had to take any of our vehicles back for an issue that he had already fixed.
Nothing honest about these people. I brought a car to them that apparently had a shot engine. I told them I had money to either buy a new used car or put into this one. Please check it out, give me an estimate, and tell me if you think this car is worth fixing. Gary Solley was the guy I dealt with. After keeping my car over a week, he told me that it required $1600 worth of work and said that yes, it would be in fine working condition if I gave them permission to do all their suggested repairs. I said OK and they did. After almost another week, we got the car back. The Check Engine light came on the very next time I drove it. The engine still ran shoddy - and got worse. So I took it to E & E Service Center in Bailey Cove. When the mechanic got back to me (in around an hour), he told me they wouldnt touch or fix anything on my car because the engine was shot and needed to be rebuilt. So Gary Solley and crew made ~$1900 (yes, ~$300 more than they had quoted) worth of repairs on a car whose engine was no good. I had driven the car maybe 50-100 miles (which, btw, was about 1/2 a tank of gas at that point) after driving it off their site. Wait - theres more! When we took the car back and told them what another mechanic had said, he said Well, I cant do anything about it, and I cant give you your money back.I was out a car AND $1900. So I couldnt even buy another car. Gary Solley knew this was my position and he couldnt have cared less. He made NO effort to get me any of our money back. He could have offered to refund the man-hours put into the car, considering he and his mechanics failed to recognize my engine was shot, something somebody else recognized in an hour. He could have offered to extract those parts from under the hood that he could. And he didnt. He blatantly ripped us off and left us high and dry. Do not trust this man or this place. Ever. E & E is a far more trustworthy shop and I recommend going there over Stringfellows.I wish I had been more savvy and had taken them to small claims court (this happened in 2005 and Im STILL pissed). I guess I figured it would cost me money I didnt have. Cest la vie.
Trustworthy! We have used Stringfellow for years.
Highly skilled mechanic, fair pricing.
Very good mechanic
