Love their hair color selection. They are reasonably priced and well stocked. They also have a nice selection of make-up. The employees are always friendly and helpful.

Not sending clients here anymore. They treated me like a peasant and even said they weren’t going to ring me up and we’re saving their time for better customers. Honestly, this is why Hair Queen has taken over half of their customers upon opening. Hair queen is kind, they help you, and they don’t spit in your face like your worthless. Invest in a store that invests in you and not Solid Gold🙄

I wish our black Queens would open our own beauty supply and stop putting weave In their head! Other races get rich off of US and treat US as if we are worthless, yet we still give them all of our money. I said that to say, I went to this store a while ago to purchase some shampoo. When I found the shampoo I wanted I went to pay for it. First off the cashier did not say hello and acted as if she had a attitude. Well my shampoo came up to $10 but I watched the girl add z sales tax of $5. When she told me my total her excuse was that taxes went up. .. ?!?! I told her I know exactly how much taxes went up and plus taxes was already taken out because on the shelf the shampoo was$9 and some change bringing my total to $10. After I told her I was not paying for that and that I would leave she tried to say she can. Give me a discount and take off 5..... Girl bye! I now order my items online! I wish our ppl would come together and stop spending money where we cant even work....

The items at this store are okay. The people are the problem. The customer service sucks, and the people behind the desk make sideways comments, or sly comments filled with sarcasm if theres something you dont like about an item. Their whole tone seems like they feel you need them, not that they need you. I guess this is what one could expect from a store situated in the ghetto part of town. Now I just go to Madison beauty stores for my needs. Their attitude is not a while lot better, but it is better. Im almost to the point of just ordering beauty supplies online.

While traveling through the Huntsville area, I purchased a wig at Solid Gold Beauty Supply. Store rules are that one can try on the wig worn by the mannekin but not the wig one is purchasing until it is paid for. I selected and tried on a display wig and then indicated the color I wanted--dark brown/black. I was in a hurry but specified that the wig should have no red or reddish highlights. When I returned to my hotel room and took out the wig I had purchased, it was dark brown with auburn highlights. I returned to the store and asked for an exchange, indicating that I could not wear the wig because it had reddish tones. The owner said that there was no red in the wig and even went so far as to ask another customer if she saw red in the wig. The customer agreed with the owner. I then realized that my use of the word red meant something entirely different to the owner and the other customer. After lecturing me briefly, the owner said that he would exchange the H2 (dark brown) for an H1 (off black). He emphasized that under no circumstances would the second item be accepted back for exchange or refund. I thanked him and took the exchanged item. I should have learned my lesson the first time and inspected the item in the store, but I was late for a meeting and did not. When I arrived back at my hotel and took out the wig, I found that it was an entirely different style than the one I had originally selected. I sincerely hope that this was an honest mistake on the part of the owner. However, I take responsibility for not stopping a moment both the first time and the second time to inspect the purchase, which would have allowed the matter to be settled on the spot. Admittedly my fault. Lesson learned.
