We were supposed to pick up a truck from a different location, self pickup. When we got there and attempted to do it the system told us to go to the desk. That location was closed until TUESDAY! We went to this location and Brian was able to help us get a truck in a timely fashion and was great about it. He even tried to help cancel the other reservation. Next time we need a truck I will be going to this location and hope Brian will be there again. Thank you so much Brian.

They dont have dollys available and will act like it is not there problem. Had to spend 30 minutes on phone with customer service to address this issue. Tessa on the phone transferred me without even talking to me. This is absurd. I recommend trying another location or hiring a moving company....less trouble.

Just returned a trailer that I rented for 24hrs. I went online and bought the ball that was recommended for my suv/hitch,and a 7-to-4 wire adapter. When I showed yesterday, the guy was friendly and helpful. Bummer, but my suv didn’t play nice with the LED adapter I bought at auto zone or even a trailer with LED lights. Smart dude figured it out right away though, and gave me a little older (no LED) but larger trailer at same rate that worked like a charm. He also lent me an adapter at no charge! A different guy helped at drop off and was super friendly. Great all around. One word to the wise: my pads and appliance dolly that I reserved didn’t show up on his computer at pick up, and I forgot about them (but lived without them). So if you reserve online you might want to double check that your extras are included when you pay.

SPARE YOURSELF and visit the location on University Drive (VERY FRIENDLY & HELPFUL). I ended up getting supplies from both locations in preparation for my move however rented a truck from the Governors drive location. The manager and assistant mgr lack customer service skills and any question or request is an inconvenience to them. Upon arrival, they didnt acknowledge my existence in the store. I stood there for 5-10 minutes while they were on the computer (no one else was in the store). Not even a simple hello, or Ill be right with you. They have no desire to help with an issue or concerns you may have. Furthermore, they put the incorrect return location on the truck which was a huge inconvenience. The University Drive location may be busy, but at least they are friendly and are willing to help.

I had a really good experience renting from this location for my out of state move. First, I reserved the wrong size truck. So I had to return to the location for a larger size. They were professional & very accommodating. After the truck was loaded, I returned to the location so they could attach my vehicle tow. Thanks for the great service!

So disappointed. Made my appointment and paid for it. Tried to call all week, could never get an answer. Showed up for my appointment, the guy at the desk looked shock. Told me he couldnt do it. I live an hour away and took off work to get this done, they didnt even call me! The guy spoke to me like I was nothing and that I inconvenienced him by showing up. Never again going to this horrible place.

Have been going here to fill up propane. Today was met with the rudest service ever received anywhere. After requesting service, he kept saying I dont know what to tell you. Ended up saying he didnt want our business. Never again. Hoping to contact the owner/manager next week.

Tried for over a month to get a hitch for a bike rack ordered and installed on my car. Youd think, especially with the economy for 2020 and going into 2021, that U-haul would want $200 worth of business for putting a hitch on my little car. Nope. Cant get them to answer the phone. The hitch never came in when ordered and I had to keep going to the location to get communication on this. Finally I get an email saying to show up at 9:30am on 4/21 to get it installed only to be informed that the part isnt in stock and its not usually done at this location anyway. That is so unprofessional! I took my business to H&H Truck accessories and they had the hitch within 2 days and will install for me ASAP. Yall dont waste your time and money getting a hitch from Uhaul. Go to a different merchant that actually cares about the service they provide.

Staff were deep in maskless conversation with each other while checking in, had me check myself in online. Was given the most dilapidated trailer Ive ever received from U-Haul for a 17 hour interstate move. Trailer full of dirt and debris. I realized this trailer doesnt have d-rings on the floor in each corner and requested a trailer that does because the only item Im hauling is a motorcycle (there were 5 other trailers of the same size lined up beside this one). Agent stated that this is the next trailer on the list to go out so...... Im stuck pulling a beat trailer 17 hours with an extra hour of set up time to get the bike properly secured using the wall stakes (and hoping they dont fail). I rent from U-Haul somewhat frequently and almost always find outstanding customer service. Disappointed here though

We had an appointment for two weeks, to have a trailer hitch put on my car. They knew we were out of town, over an hour away, and did not have the COMMON COURTESY to call and let me know that they did not have the parts. I asked when he thought he might have them, he’s response was “I’ve been waiting on something’s since December.”Bad business!! Be professional and pick up the phone at let someone know something!

I had a problem with the U Haul on Drake. I went to the main office on Governors. They turned my day around. Thank you guys for your diligent work fixing my problems with a smile.

This uhaul business location on governors drive has always been very helpful and I have never had any issues at all with them. Ill continue to come back to this location as I always have and will recommend them to others also!

Got a dirty truck full of leaves and such. No biggie. The back was a bit dirty too. Mostly things that blew in from trees. I swept it all out front and back and it was returned much cleaner than I got it. They bothered to sneak in a $25 cleaning fee. I’ve never earned a cleaning fee in my life. Luckily I caught it before leaving and they reversed it after about a week. If not for the attempted scam it would have been 4 or 5 stars.

Installed trailer hitch! They had factory installation instructions issue that took extra time to resolve. Chris credited my account back some money for the extra wait time without even asking. Great service.

HORRIBLE! Everything about my experience at this Uhaul location was a nightmare. I rented a trailer and upon taking it back, I shared with the representative that my truck had damage on the back side. He jumped on his phone and FaceTimed his boss while walking around the trailer to see if there was any damage. He could have cared less about my truck. Even so, he says, “no sir there’s no damage.” I had a witness riding with me that saw and heard the whole thing as well. Quickly after that I was rushed out the door to avoid any more questions about my truck. A month later, I receive a $1300 bill for damages to the trailer!!! I was stunned and figured it must have been a mistake.Upon calling Uhaul corporate office, they told me the general manager was unaware I received a letter with charges and to be expecting a call from him. I did receive a call expecting an apology and info on what they planned on doing for my truck. Instead, he all of a sudden knew all about it(even though he wasn’t even there) and blamed me! I’ve been in a dispute for a month and it has taken so much time and it’s been awful. Do yourself a favor, and DO NOT utilize their services. You’ll regret it.

Entered the store to purchase moving supplies. No one was at counter. Made my selection while waiting for a representative to show up. About 5 minutes after being in the store with it entirely unattended I walked into the back area-found no one. Another client had since walked in to join the wait. Finally found a maintenance man outside who miraculously found 2 representatives. They never apologized about the wait time. They did not thank me for my patronage. Most importantly, anyone passerby off the street could have stolen a number of things during this entire ordeal. Horrible business practices and terrible customer service.

I changed my previous one star review because Chris Holman took the time to fix the billing error by sitting down with me. He impressed me with his helpfulness. Would have rated higher but I had to take extra time to fix the problem.

Scheduled a pick up for tomorrow and just called to confirm my pickup. Tammy at governors informed my pickup was moved to Uncle Bobs storage on highway72 west. 1. I was not notified about the location change. 2. I live in South Huntsville. 3. Tammy hung up on me.

They gave us a horrible truck, absolutely no steering! VERY DANGEROUS! We had to drive from Huntsville, AL to Oceanside, CA! I am not impressed at all with this company! Check your vehicles before you rent them out for an outrageous price to your customers! Horrible! We are a military family and we will be spreading the word that U-Haul is NOT the company to use or rely on! We are very open minded people, we dont usually write negative reviews, I hope this helps future personnel and the problem is addressed. Thank you for your time and reviewing this.

Came here just to buy a moving blanket or furniture cover -- the ones made out of recycled denim -- and the cashier had to count the entire cash register drawer just to take my cash payment. Very inconvenient. Not sure Id go here again.

When I picked up the trailer it was covered in dust and dirt on the inside. Then after I turned it back in I looked at my credit card bill and learned they charged me for $155 worth of boxes, plastic bubble wrap and all sorts of moving supplies??? I called and they told me to talk to customer service after being on the phone then they told me the GM would call me. If you want Uhaul to commit fraud and steal money from you then this is the place to go. I would HIGHLY suggest other locations.It’s shocking that I never even signed this receipt they emailed me of stuff they charged me for and yet they are still charging me. I mean do they not have cameras to see me walking in and out of the store with no boxes????

Terrible Experience. Didnt have what I rented, staff was rude with no help given, no follow up. Go somewhere else if possible.

Expected to have been worked with seeing as to though I left five minutes before and my address the bottom flooded and was notified as I’m driving away from the store turned around and asked to return even offered to pay the mileage and gas! But the boss has nothing for you smh

I needed propane for our heater tonight. The local place by me didnt have any certified to do it. I had called the s location and they could do it, but I figured Id got to Tractor Supply and shop too. I drove to Tractor Supply in Huntsville and THEY also didnt have anyone could do it. Got to the UHaul, not only was the guy very nice and came right out before I barely got out of the car, THEY were .50/gal cheaper then TSC! Great place.

I just wanted to contact you to let you know of my experience with two different U-Haul locations in Huntsville, AL on Dec. 31, 2015. It was such a bad experience that I will never use U-Haul again. On Dec. 30, 2015 I reserved a pickup truck for rental the following day at the location at 3713 Governors Drive in Huntsville. I was scheduled to pick this vehicle up at 11:30am. I showed up a few minutes early and the location was empty. A few minutes later, Tammy, the General Manager comes in from the back and informs me that my reservation has been moved to the location across town at 4400 University Drive in Huntsville. I needed to have the truck in a certain location to pick up some furniture by noon of that day and this was already placing me behind schedule considering that I was never notified in advance of this change. A few minutes later I arrive at the location on University Drive to attempt my pick up. While waiting in a line of 5 people, I start to become stressed because it is already 11:45am. The General Manager at this location, Paulette Boehlke, informs me that it doesnt matter when I was scheduled to pick up this truck. She states, that I will have to wait in line while she continues taking peoples orders and then going outside to fit them for their truck. I am a bit in a panic because this is not what I expected considering that I had reserved the truck for a specific pick up time for a reason. I finally left the location because I could not see it fit to pay U-Haul for the poor job they had done with having my reservation ready for pick up that morning. All this especially considering they have a sign in office guaranteeing that they will have the truck you order at the right location at the right time available for you. I cancelled my order with U-Haul and was able to reserve a truck with another moving company. Tammy, from the first location called while I was on the way to pick up the new truck and tried to get me to come by and pick up a truck that was now there at her location on Governors Drive. She claimed that the reason I couldnt pick up the truck at the scheduled time and scheduled location was because the call center had double booked that time. The pick up that was sitting outside her location when I was their earlier, she said, had been left by someone that had not left their keys with her. Either way, the whole thing was crap. I intend to never use U-Hauls services again and will inform people of this issue in the Huntsville locations.

Dewayne Griggs is the General Manager. Check this location out. Dewayne can handle it. Dont care how busy it is. Efficient and effective.

Decent boxes and selection of moving supplies. But no service. No one answers the phone and I had to wait 10 minutes for the one employee to finish filling propane to check me out. Woefully understaffed.

They were incredibly helpful given the fact that the customer service at Uhaul corp. messed everything up.

Theyre good if you need something to move with, reasonable prices. Especially with their competitors.

Worst customer service I have ever had. Moved out of Huntsville to another state, stored our ubox for awhile until my husband and I got settled. Called to get everything set up to get it shipped to us and got the run around from the store manager of all people. Had to call there corporate office multiple times to get anything done, finally after two weeks were getting our stuff. I will never use uhaul again for any reason. And I recommend to everyone on going to any other moving company then this horrible place. Would have given no stars if possible.

The time I was there I was at the store about 2.5 for nothing the lighting wiring didnt work with my 2007 Dodge truck. All time was wasted

I rented a uhaul last Sunday. I paid 70$ for rental and boxes plus a 100$ deposit. After I returned the truck they took 96$ of my deposit. Monday I called and complained and they refunded me 34$ one day later they ran 4 unauthorized debits on my card for 330$ not happy.
