I am no stranger to hardware stores, and this place is great. Seems well stocked. Plenty of staff to help you. They made me feel very welcome when I stopped for a moment and offered a coffee to me on Christmas Eve.
This company is the definition of shop local and support your local family owned business. In addition, you will also receive excellent customer service and a family driven atmosphere that has a wealth of knowledge of what they sell. You will not be disappointed!
A perfect balance between a modern, well-stocked home handyman store and a classic, old-fashioned sawdust-on-the-floor corner hardware. An amazing breadth and depth of stock for the square footage, which is larger than it appears at the curb. Very pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. If you are on Conanicut Island, there is rarely a need to cross a bridge to get hardware supplies for day-to-day repairs and maintenance. Its not the place to get lumber, insulation, wallboard, or other materials for a building project.
A family owned local business, that always has someone willing to help you with any question you have, and always usually have the solution. They carry mostly everything and save a trip across the bridge for most islanders! The staff is always so friendly and the store is a true hardware store that makes you feel at home in the small town of Jamestown
This family-owned hardware store is the best. Owner Steve and son Scott arefriendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Theyre willing to problem-solve, order any item you need, and even make house calls to rescreen a porch, or look at a problem. Perfect antidote for the big-box store. This island community wouldnt be the same without Jamestown True Value Hardware. --- Betsy G.
Helpful people and have a good enough selection so you wont need to make an off island trip.
Local helpful and stocked with everything you need.
Horrible employee. Stopped in the store because my 3-year-old son wanted to look at the tools. Even though my son wasnt touching anything, one of the employees became annoyed because we werent looking to buy anything. Instead of just asking us to leave, the employee tried to lure my son out of the store. When my son realized this guy was up to something, he turned around and ran back to me; causing the employee to yell at him.
