Shy was amazing! She went above and beyond for me on explaining the products, she gave me a better understanding on how to use them and how to apply them. She also recommended a new foundation by Lancôme I was not aware of how much I would like it. Came out with my skin feeling amazing, she is great!

Helping a friend pick out some new products and was showing her products ( I am a make up artist ( retired!)And this young woman came up to us and said “ Do you need help? You can’t do a makeover with testers” We were like what? She said “ Is she PAYING you?” We started laughing and I said this is my best friend and I’m helping her find some products.She like gave me this NASTY look and muttered something and walked away.She had mascara all over her eyelids! Very professional!!!However the young sweet girl in Clinique helped us find some things and when we asked she gave us some choices. Very attractive and professional- Clinique will be happy to know.This is not the first time I have had rude people talk to me there as my daughter had a negative experience at this same Ulta.I think it’s the Greentree shopping center( Fry and I-10 Houston Texas.AND there were like 4 customers in the whole store.Maybe once Ulta is in Target there will be better service!! Target offers very helpful and customer service driven service.And Sephora is coming down the street too.Shape up Ulta!
The Cashier Valarie on 7/1/2021 was just rude and dont seem to care at all. They made mistakes and did not care to apologize. Made everything just super awkward. Along with the assistant manager. Would be nice if you are more attentive and kind to your customers. Never coming back to this location.

I hardly ever write reviews but I had such a great experience at The ultra on fry road today. Valentina helped us and made it so easy to find what we needed and she was so attentive. She also had a great attitude which Made everything so much smoother. They also had everything I needed in stock !

The employees at this location dont seem to care anymore. They let go a lot of people that would help you. I wouldnt recommend this location and many others. Go to Sephora they are extremely helpful
The employees here are so rude. I have never been so offended. They treat every customer disgusting no matter who you are. They will talk about other customers as soon as they leave. I feel like the employees just show up to work to gossip and take their own personal problems out on customers. Wont be back. Ever.

Came in two days ago to return an online order I got for Christmas.. I was told they could accept one item because it was sold in their store, but the other item I had to find a different store that sold it to return it to... I called another Ulta and they told me that what they told me wasn’t true and they had no idea why they told me that... they said any Ulta can accept an online return of any kind....I then drove the 20 mins to the other store and returned my item.. there always seems to be an issue at this store.. it’s hard to get help from employees, they’re not very nice, I always feel like I get stared down (like I’m stealing or something) and now this stuff with returns.. also heard a rumor from someone who used to work at the store that they put used returned products on the sleeves to resell... probably why they didn’t want my return because they couldn’t resell it..
I went to the salon at Ulta and Krystal gave me a balayage. She gave me exactly what I wanted. My hair looks so beautiful and healthy!! I would recommend you go see Krystal. She has such a vibrant personality and made me feel so comfortable.
Excellent customer services.I went there 2 hours ago to exchange the gift that I had been recieved during the holiday.When I showed them my gift recieved and item., they told me that the person used her point and the amount that they give is is $ 0.45. But the manager came and told the reception and me that if I go to same brand, I can get something similar to that item.I didnt want 45 cent. But I get something that I can use.Thank you so much.

Made a big deal of needing to show both the confirmation and have an id to pick up my order. They made me leave and go all the way home to get my id before they would give me my order. But when I got back they didn’t even look at my confirmation and barely looked at my Id.Other people I asked said they never asked them for an id. So I guess they just profile people and make their decision based off that...terrible company!

Bad staff.Every time I go they always say they dont have a free gift for that month.Like today I went and they said they didnt have my free birthday gift for August.The woman who was the cashier didnt even bother checking if there was any free gift left she only said that there was no more,I even told her every time I go there is no free gift,she said oh it just that it runs out quick.Like how is it going to run out fast when they literally have a big box of the item.You know what they themselves keep the items that is why they say that they have no more.You know it is only August 15 how are you going to run out of items when the month hasnt even ended and to cut things short not everybody get the same product for your birthday month.July is a specific item and August another, I even go early on that month and time and they still say they run out.Like if you dont want to give the item just say so, buy it yourself like that is specifically for are birthday yet your stealing our present.At least like order it for us but dont charge us you staff at the end of the month end up keeping the items.

Krystal is absolutely amazing! Shes kept my hair so healthy during all the stress I put on it. Shes taken my hair to a gorgeous silver without a lot of damage. She also brought me back to my natural near black hair color. I have never had a bad experience when she does my hair!
Walked in was never acknowledged or asked if I needed help the entire 20 I was wondering the same 4 isles looking around for 1 product. They were to busy chatting to even look up as I waited to check out. I was so disappointed I almost left my products behind but I wouldnt make it my regular Ulta. Next time Ill order online to avoid this place. Only the cashier was nice.
I go to this location mostly for my hair. One stylist in particular Whitney. I have been going to her for 6 years now and am never disappointed. She is very sweet and knowledgeable. She will let you know what is reasonable for your hair and how to get you to your hair goals. Extremely professional and easy to talk to. I recommend her to everyone and always get complements on my hair even after a month or two of not being in her chair. The whole salon staff always makes me feel welcome. I highly recommend giving the stylist Whitney a try. I am confident you will love your experience!
The sales staff is not very knowledgeable at all.
The salon stylist told me there was “nothing” she could do for my hair. I needed my roots fixed and she told me couldn’t do it. I left so unhappy, and found a different place who got it done within 2 ours for A LOT cheaper.
Would not allow me to shop without a mask. I planned on spending quite a bit of money but now someone else will get my sales! Seriously disappointed!
Ghazala did a full highlight on my hair and it looks so good! She listened to my concerns and truly listened not just nodding and then doing what she wanted w my hair like I’ve had some do in the past. The color was exactly what I was hoping for! Very evenly distributed and the tone is consistent throughout my hair which is hard to do because I have so much hair and it’s extremely long as well as having so many other dyes and chemicals on it from the past. Def recommend her!
I wrote a check for my purchase. They ran it through as a debit, Thats fine with me EXCEPT that 5 days later they submitted it a second time as a regular check. In other words, I paid twice for the same item. My bank had to dispute the 2nd transaction. This is an update. I did contact the customer service website as suggested. I was told to send pictures of the double charge on my bank statements. I did. I was told that they would need to research the issue. That was fine. Two weeks later I still had not heard back from Ulta. I replied to their request for time to research email (per their directions) It came back as undeliverable. I went to the contact page on the website and tried to do a live chat with someone. She cut off the conversation and signed off while I was writing the first sentence. Then I called the 800 number. I was on hold for an hour. When someone did come on the line and I explained the issue, she said I would have to talk to a supervisor. She put me on hold for 20 minutes and then came back on the line to tell me a supervisor was not currently available but would call me within 24 hours. No one ever called me. I sent another email asking for a status update. That evening I received an email that said, briefly and abruptly, that even though they have my copies of my bank statement that clearly shows the one check made payable to Ulta was put through twice, they say there was no double charge and they consider the matter closed. They gave no explanation as to how they reached that conclusion. I sent another email asking for an explanation and even said that I believed this was probably an error on the part of some well-intentioned but not well trained store employee. I also said that if they could show me what happened and that this is all some big misunderstanding, that I would apologize to Ulta. They have not responded. It has been over a week. The branch manager at my bank stands by the recorded bank statements that reflect a double charge. He saw the actual check and it clearly shows that the store put it through twice. I understand everyone makes mistakes, but I have little tolerance for those who will deny their error when confronted with clear evidence of their error. I cannot express how disappointed I was in how this matter was handled -- delay, delay, delay, and then when I wouldnt go away -- deny, deny, deny.

I had a great experience at the beauty counter from your beauty consultant, I believe her name is Shae! She really came through and spent time with me finding the perfect foundation for my rosacea. I had a big presentation coming up and was worried that my rosacea would flare during my speech, and she helped me find the best makeup to conceal and cover up, giving me the confidence I needed to get through my presentation in one piece. Shae spent time and energy helping me that evening, and girl, THANK YOU SO MUCH! 5 STARS SHAE!
Management or whomever is responsible for ads and sales is not keeping up with the store sale displays. I walked in today and the James Charles display box IN FRONT of the cashiers has 25% off so I wait in line to buy it only to find out it ended yesterday! Why was the sign still up? I don’t think as a customer I’m supposed to read the very small fine print - good customer service would be still giving me the discount and then taking the sign down- not saying- “oh well- NEXT.” Not cool, especially at this time of the year. Ads that ended yesterday should be taken down last night or first thing this morning.
My niece and I came in to Ulta BEAUTY Katy freeway for our very first time to get our hair styled for a formal event with hairstylist Kimara. She was awesome! She has great customer service skills and does a marvelous job with the hair as well. We had such a great experience and will definitely return.
My experience here at ULTA is for my hairstylist Whitney, I truly recommend her. She is an AWESOME stylist that she will get your hair feel alive again and make you look at your best. My hair feels more healthier, keep on doing your OUTSTANDING job Whitney. If you dont have your hairstylist, get you WHITNEY!!. You wont regret it

Ulta has plenty of high-end make up brands along with high-end skin care and hair products. There are testers of many products, so you know color, texture and fragrance before purchasing. Ulta also has a great deal of drugstore brands for makeup, skin care, and hair products. The staff is very helpful and their return policy is great with a receipt. This store is a favorite of my two daughters and mine!

The manager Saturday evening, had the worst customer experience I have ever noticed at this location. She assisted my cashier with a return I had after she helped her customer who she was extra helpful and engaging with. She took over my return and had a quick change in demeanor. She made me feel as if I was inconveniencing her or she was doing me a favor. The tone, the look the, exchange was cold and deeming. All customers should be treated equally and welcomed no matter the transaction. Manager for this day/shift, please do not reply with a response to this comment. Most responses noted in this site seem, forced and not sincere. I have emailed corporate with additional details from this experience.
A month ago I had prom and I scheduled an appointment to get my makeup done here. At first, I was a little hesitant after reading reviews. I went and was immediately met with amazing customer service. Krystal (who was very kind) did my makeup, and it was absolutely worth every penny. Would recommend.
Bad service they’re not helpful
It used to be you could find just about any beauty brand and product but it seems more limited now. May just be a sign of the times. They do not have hair color any more either at my location. I do visit regularly for some specific products by Benefit.
Every time I go to this store (which is rarely), there is some kind of false advertisement or poor customer service experience. Yesterday it looks like attempted fraud. The cashier lied when she said that she put my receipt in the bag. When she gave me the bag, I asked her for the receipt because I did not recall seeing it. She said that she put the receipt in the bag. I said ok and thank you. I started walking away while looking for the receipt, but I was not seeing it. I finally stopped before I walked out of the store, pulled my item out of the bag and saw no receipt. I walked back over to the cashier and told her that the receipt is not in the bag. I saw her reach near the cash register and get that receipt, but she told me that it had fallen on the floor. I will be reporting this.
It was ok, I found the product I was looking for. But to be a store where everything is more expensive than in the others the saleswomen should be a little more pleasant with the customers. I felt that I was disturbed by the questions I asked them.

The staff at this location are awesome. I love the way they work as a team. Of course there’s always a few bad apples in the bunch. When I arrived at the store one of the staff members treated my family and I as if we weren’t good enough to be in that store. I addressed the situation with the store manager Taneasha and was very satisfied with the outcome. What I liked most is that she never talked down on the employee that I complained about, as many managers do. I pay attention to things like that. She redirected our attention to the other staff that really turned our mood back around. My sister was ready to leave and go to another store. I’m glad we didn’t because Damien did an awesome job with my daughters make-up. My daughter is very shy and he got her to laugh and have fun. I will be going back very soon. My daughter is all excited and has all the other girls ready to go to Ulta and ask for Damien.
So disappointed, my sister went into the store today and everyone was absolutely rude and unattended especially the manager that was in I believe her name was Bethany ! Please don’t come to work if you’re gonna treat everyone rudely ! Customer service is a must especially when assisting other customers. If you don’t think you can handle that then this is not the line of work for you. Feeling very distressed and appalled when I got the type of service especially when I always come to this locations.
Nice selection of beauty products. I just adore their Donna Karan Cashmere mist (deodorant) I use to purchase this same brand at Macys West Oaks before their store closed.

I went in for a hair up and make up for a night out. I was kept waiting 40 mins for my hair. I then advised the hairdresser that I have thick and heavy hair. My hair was falling down before I left the store and my friend had to re do my hair before leaving for the party. I also had my makeup done. The eye make up was shockingly bad and my Daughter told me I looked like a witch. Again I had to take off the eye make up and re-do. The make up looked very amateur. The only reason I’ve given two stars is because both of the people were nice and friendly but they seemed tired and keen to get off for the day.
Note: posting under husbands account :)I had a fantastic haircut with Whitney. I asked for an a-line bob but was concerned about my thinning hair holding the style. The results were amazing. I felt that Whitney also took additional time to make sure it was just perfect and it really showed in the details on the stack in the back. I will definitely be going to Whitney again.
Only rating this because of the ignorant store associate/cashier i just dealt with this AM. Her response to me looking for a coupon was really uncalled for- then to top it off she says they probably took all the coupons away cause were closing. Im sorry...huh? Makes Ulta look real bad that you guys would cease coupons cause of a closure for a virus. Then as shes helping me- still in the process of helping- she stops what shes doing to clean her hands. Look- i get it, stay clean- its a pandemic out there- but uh....could you be anymore rude than that?
When I got in the car I noticed one of my products had a tester sticker. I took it back to exchange it and the only other one had makeup all over the product. One of the sales women peeled the tester sticker off and told me to just take that one there was nothing wrong with it.. i was like maam its a pandemic.. yall limiting how many ppl can be in here and you want me to take the tester..no..she caught an attitude with me..which Im not sure why...i decided to just get a refund.. they had put my email in wrong so I never got the email and they said it takes 24hrs to show up on my account with them.. they were acting like it was a me problem. Then another lady came m over and punched something in and they were able to give me the refund... of course only after making me go back to the car to get my card... it was just a bad experience..i wont go back to that ulta.. the one closer to me is usually good so idk
Favorite location
I was very surprised on how much this place has changed for good. It was very clean, organized and items on shelf were all in order and with tag prices. I also was helped by a very kind and patient cosmetic expert. The store looked organized and carries almost all brands.
Highly recommend for highlights but don’t go for keratin treatment. I took keratin treatment but I didn’t find any difference before and after. I called to my hairstylist (Alexis) about the same result before and after keratin treatment so they (manager and hairstylist) have me to come at Ulta and they did heat treatment instead of keratin treatment but still I didn’t find any difference. My hairs are still poofy and frizzy .
I really HATE the customer service here. I barely come to Ulta because I feel the employees are not helpful at all. Today was the first time in about a year that I gave Ulta another chance. I saw the associate standing by the door, a lady with blonde hair. I entered the store and she did not greet me, she did not welcome me, she did not ask me if I needed anything, she did not even smile she stared at me. I went down a few miles before I thought to myself forget this, and left. This is why I stick by Sephora 100% the customer service is awesome the brands they carry are superb and high quality.
I am a regular here! This is one of my favorite stores! They have the best prices and sales. Plus they have a great Salon!!!
The only thing that annoyed me is that A LOT of the testers were not in the correct location. It is annoying to have to maintenance Ultas testers so that you could find something. There was many testers missing too. I did have great help and overall enjoyed the visit!
I was able to get what I needed. Funny thought; not one person said hello or can I help you. The nicest person was the young lady at checkout. Wake up ladies and dont be shy to talk to people. A simple can I help you find something goes a long way. I didn hear them ask anyone while I was there.
Thank you Shy for helping me find the perfect foundation, concealer, and primer! I suffer from terrible acne, which I am trying to get under control. In the meantime, I have to cover it up without clogging my pores. With my oily skin and acne issues, Shy helped me find the right color and guided me on how to apply my makeup properly. She really took her time to help me and for that I appreciate it. Im wearing all the products today and my skin looks flawless I havent been this happy looking at my face in a long time. Thank you Shy for helping me get some confidence back!
Go here if youre tired of the sardine box that is Sephora. In this store youll actually be able to brows (no pun intended) and sample. They also have the very affordable drugstore section with a huge variety of brands and products to choose from.If youre a makeup lover be careful with your time and set aside 2 hours for your visit because this store just makes you want to purchase everything :)

Manager in Fry road, name Grace was very friendly and accommodating when I requested to give me a substitute for an item that I purchased with a bonus gift and the bonus gift wasnt in stock anymore. I called and talked to her and she agreed to give me a substitute on the bonus gift. She reserved it and I picked it up the day I promised to pick it up. Wish everyone would be as nice and friendly as she is.
I walked into Alta having an idea of how when I make it to work but just didn’t know how to achieve it. I went from section to section looking at products. Lauren from Lancôme offered to help color match my coin to the right shade. She did my makeup also, and applied a magic primer to my face, and all my pores disappeared. I was pretty stunned when she shut the face look like! That’s exactly the look that I wanted. I want to thank the ladies at Lancome and Lauren and Alta for helping me out so much thanks
Customer service was not great! Normally when I go to Ulta there is a very knowledgeable sales person who guides me. I guided myself and when I asked a question, they did not have a clue about the answer.

I went looking for a specific item and walked around for a while. Not finding what I wanted so I went to look for a person to help well they walked way or acted like they were busy. Will tell you one thing they all suck with their cute selves. I know they need a job well work it. When women come in they are going to spend money do something about it.
Recently moved to Houston and Jacqueline was recommended to me. She did an amazing job on my cut and highlights! It is a bit pricey, but Im loving it and will return to her !
The staff is always friendly, polite, and helpful. They do everything they can to satisfy their customers. My husband bought some perfume for me and the pump broke. He took it back and they attempted to fix it. When they couldnt, they replaced the bottle!It is neat and clean and they check-out time is never long.

Customer service was great went in there just looking for one thing in particular and did not feel like walking around the whole store wasting time. A cashier was very kind and friendly to walk me right over to the location where all the creams were at. I was very satisfied with the service. Definitely would come back to this location.
Everytime I visit an Ulta store no matter the location, Ive had the worst experience. The makeup is always open and just messy. This trip I dont know why I thought it would be different. I needed my revolution brand setting spray and walked in. Like always there was makeup on the setting spray bottles. EW! There were only 2 spray bottles and both looked used. I turned around and walked out.
They never have a good stock of products. Every time I come in here I either leave with nothing or half of what I was looking for. This time half. I have the shampoo but not the conditioner so now I have to search around other ULTAs hoping for the condition or wait until they have it in stock which could take weeks and its something I do need to use now. Ill probably end up returning it and choosing another option. Im extremely disappointed with this always a problem at this store.

There is no enough good customer service.Someone helped me but she was not comfortable helping me, so she found somebody else to help me.Not good experience, I thought they have more good customer service, like employees asking customers if they need help or something.I don’t think I am going back. I can find cosmetics somewhere else.
While the retail store itself is good, BEWARE of the salon! The hairstylists are horrible, especially Tayanne. I went in for a trim and a gloss- she completely butchered my hair, chopping off huge top sections of my long layers super short and then canceled out all of my blonde highlights. I left with dark brown hair looking like a completely different person! To her credit, the salon manager was sympathetic and tried steps to have it fixed, but even she saw it was beyond repair and she gave me a full refund. I went to several other salons for a consult to have my highlights redone and all of them sadly noted how badly done it was. There is nothing I can do for the cut- I will have to spend months growing my hair back out because of this experience. Do NOT go there for your hair!

I went in looking for the Mac makeup line that is displayed online. Though I did not see any Mac so I assumed that its only available online. Was able to find other items with good sale prices.
Went in last night for a cut and color, and am very pleased. I love that the schedule works great with my work schedule. Andrea was my stylist, she has a great eye for color, and took her time making my hair look fabulous. I am pleased with the color and cut, would recommend to anyone.
