I got my car in November of last year and I really should have just kept walking to work until I could find a better place. I can’t tell you how many things are wrong with this establishment from the management down to the mechanics. If you can go somewhere else I would strongly recommend me
Worst place to buy or get fixed.took girlfriends car in on a monday didnt even get it back till following Saturday
I appreciate the customer friendly service.
OMG DO NOT GO HERE, THEY DIDNT applyGET PROOF THAT THEY APPLYGET PROOF THEY APPLIEDGET PROOF THEY APPLIED FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!! GET PROOF THAT THEY APPLY FOR what you APPLIED FOR, I DONT KNOW WHY THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS, ME AND SOME OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE COME TOGETHER BECAUSE WERE ALL GOING THRU THE SAME EXACT SCENARIO, WE WERE GOOFY AND TRUSTEd THEM.. I hope this review can help some ppl not get screwed.Dont listen when they say, WE WILL CALL YOU, DONT CALL US, WE WILL CALL YOU!
If I could give negative stars I would have. I had traded in my perfectly running car for a ford fusion from them and they told me I have a month so if anything goes wrong its under warranty for the first month. My engine blew up in the first 4 days of having the car, we have 4 children mind you and both my significant other and I work. The people who work and run this place are rude and disrespectful and now I have to pay for this POS car and a motor that they took out of my old car that doesnt even fit in the new one. Absolutely trash. DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM RPM
Rpm is a scam🚨 I repeat!Rpm is a scam🚨 I repeat!Rpm is a scam🚨Alert! Alert! Alert! What everyone is reporting and saying is true. Happened to me. Heed WARNING! Alert! Alert! Alert!🚨Horrible service. Anything and everything possible that a shady dealership would do. They do 10 fold. Learned my lesson will never go here again and recommend others not too.
Rip off SCAM ARTIST! CARS AND TRUCKS THEY SELL OVER PRICED ARE JUNK!! DONT BUY FROM HERE
We purchased car October 29. We never received the plates. Found out that they FORGOT to apply for them. Now the temp plate is expired. They say they cannot issue a new temp. The car now has to be parked until the new plate arrives. Height of ignorance. RPM living up to their reputation. Karen Malewitz
They will get you in a vehicle 🚑🚑🚑🚑 🙂
Put $1500 down had the car 2 weeks and it overheated. The service center told me it would not be under warranty so I put another $310 into it to fix the overheating...when I got my car back the next day the electrical went haywire so I took it up to them to have it looked at is already been without a vehicle for over a week at this point. Called 2 days later asked if theyd looked at it they said no they hadnt had a chance. I asked if it would be covered if it was electrical the service man then stated no. I went up to retrieve the car to have it looked at down here. I live over 40 miles away before I got back to Jackson it overheated majorly. I had it towed back to the shop that had repaired the housing for my thermostat. The car DID NOT OVERHEAT from the time the housing was repaired to the time I went and retrieved it. The mechanic toldv me there appeared to be some kind of sludge in the radiator which had caused it to overheat. The head gasket was bad. I told to let me call RPM to see what they would do. The manager told me it was NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY and hung up. Mind you the shop had flushed the radiator when they had done the repair. I had the shop go ahead with repairs and put a complaint in to the state. The manager told the rep from the state I had declined having it fixed by them under warranty. I guess everyone has $1600 laying around to decline getting it fixed for half that. It is what it is. Its STILL having electrical issues. I will never return nor will I tell anyone to buy from them.
I told them that I totaled my truck and they want me to bring it to them and how can I do that it’s 101 miles away
Some say it has ok cars
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE!!!!!! All they do is lie. I paid $1200 down payment on a 05 Dodge from there and they said there was a 30 day warranty on it. Then the engine blew within 2 days of getting it. Now they saying we have to pay 50% of the cost. We told them no and now there gonna sell the truck out from under us
Will go to great lengths to get their money asap but when it comes to my needs with my car I always have to wait. Horrible employees trained like robots. You can tell they know they are selling trash
Didnt work with me at all tryed to sell me a rust bucket
I bought a 2011 Chevy Malibu for $10,000. After the financing i will pay close to $14,000. Gregg, my salesman, told me the car came with a 30-day full coverage warranty and that everything was covered except for the air conditioner and air bags. When he had me sign the warranty agreement, it stated only 50% of parts and labor were covered and not the 100% he was telling me. I asked him to put what he said in writing and he refused. When he walked away, i got out my phone and started recording. When he came back, i asked about the warranty again and while on recording he repeated what he told me. Since buying the car, i have had nothing but issues in regards to getting it fixed. Had to wait almost a month just to get my windshield wipers fixed. I had to drive through rain, hail, and snow without wipers. They DO NOT honor their warranty and violate numerous laws when selling consumers vehicles. They violate the Michigan Vehicle Code Act 300 of 1949 in addition to several subsections of the Michigan Consumers Act 331 of 1976. They are HORRIBLE. Especially Jeff. He doesnt care that he is screwing people over. Today i filed a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Michigan Consumer Protection Division. Hopefully with the AG stepping in something will change. Because i filed the complaint, they have now retaliated against me and refuse to honor the warranty they agreed to and refuse to work on my car. DO NOT GO THROUGH RPM on S. Cedar St in lansing. I heard the Grand River location is ran more professionally.
Put 1200 dollars down on a truck that needed a battery and alternator but they did that in the same day and i took it home. Two days later it overheated due to the fan not working properly and after a week still wouldn t get the truck in to fix. So back at square one with no vehicle because they only care about money not the people. They will not give any of the 1200 back even though we had to return the truck bc they wouldn t fix it.
Their a rip off my vehicle was missing parts and i didntt know til i did some work to it and over charged me for my vehicle im very upset and they wont fix nothing
My husband went in to pay his car note
Dont waste your time.
Pro; with terrible credit and only $250 down, RPM was the only place who wouldput me in a vehicle, which was vital for me. Con: while their garage does try to address any issues with your vehicle, if they need certain parts or heaven forbid, a tire, be prepared to wait, possibly months. Other than these two facts, everything else has been pretty much how I expected, like how they definitely gouged me on price, if only considering actual value of the vehicle, but I was ok with that because getting a vehicle was much more valuable to me at the time, even more so now that my livelihood completely depends on having a working vehicle. Also, I feel that they are actually a bit more on the fair side of things than the average lot, since the more you can come in with for a down payment, the better your total price and individual payments will be. Besides, its worth repeating that no one else was willing to give me a chance, even with zero bills before them and over $1000 a month net income, so if not for them I probably wouldnt have been able to get a car for months. Overall, its a decent place.
I wouldnt go any where else they take really good care of me and my family. Wonderful ppl
Make no mistake these guys are crooks. Dont go here save yourself the headache.
-took 4 months to repair minor damages-they stole dashcam, longboard, and brand new windshield wipers out of my car, and denied this 😑 police intervention underway-terrible service, the people on here calling them crooks are all valid
Wife purchased a Vehicle from here not even two weeks ago. vehicle had a misfire they said to go ahead and take it home and they will order the part. wife drove it home. when she got it there I looked under the hood the oil dipstick had been broken off and one of the fuel injectors was unplugged the coil they said they needed to replace had already been replaced. My wife called them on Thursday she was transferred to the service garage she told them she could bring it in on Saturday mind you vehicle barley has enough power to pull itself down the road. We walk into the service office just to catch a severe attitude I know the mechanics name but am not going to place it on here. we were told that the garage is closed Saturdays we are a hour in a half away mind you. The part wasnt even there though he told my wife it was, we had to go pick it up and I installed it before we left I told him the powertrain control module was bad he told me no it wasnt he doesnt know I had it already looked at by the shop I use to work at. I showed him paperwork and technical service bulletin. got nothing but the cold shoulder no offer of repair and still under the 30 day warranty. also all the mechanics licenses are expired on the wall. Which is illegal to work on vehicles for money without being currently licensed. Unfortunately we now have to replace the computer and all ignition coils and spark plugs for the repair to be done properly. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself all the problems go somewhere else.
If i could give them zero stars i eould . Sales man lied . Service Dept is even worsen excuse after excuse as to why they cant get it fixed. Car never worked right
Have bought a couple vehicles in the past from here, people where nice and helpful, service did everything they could when there was an issue overall a great place for people that need help!!
They sell cars that need work done on them
We got are second car and havent had a problem. Very helpful
I have had two cars from Jeff and a Harley if you dont get stuff fixed with in 30 days that is your own fault I had a problem with the Harley and they took it back no problem but other places will take you to court Jeff was understanding and helped me thanks
They are the worst with vehicles. Had to spend at least $5000.00 to fix my own van within a year.
There machanics either have no clue how to fix a car or are trainer to just do the bare minimum to fix issues. I have had my car for a year and have put more then 5000 grand into fix the issues. I now have so much into a car that isn’t worth half the money I’ve put into repairs. The transmission was slipping and was told by the head mechanic that my car was picky about the transmission fluid level and to make sure it’s aleays at the full line. Few months later my transmission went out. At this point I had the car for 6 months. Since then the whole front suspension system had to be replaced and it’s currently in the shop for a number of things. Back struts, power steering is totally gone, water pump it’s another couple grand. DO NOT buy from them all they care about is making a quick buck! If I didn’t put a new transmission in it I would let them just come get the lemon and take the credit hit! You’ve been warned
Great...and pretty fast too!!
Honestly I have had a good experience here. I like the terms and convenience
Bought a 2013 Ford fusionI had only had it for 2 days and things started going wrong with it. I had took it back to rpm and they told me they were going to keep the car for a week and fix everything for free. When I got my car back I had realized about 2 hours into driving it rpm taped some wires together to hold until I left with the car. They fixed nothing and didnt even try to offer helping me in any other way. They told me my warranty was expired so basically they just got away with selling a junk car AGAIN. i wouldnt recommend going to rpm. At least not here in lansing
Worst place ever for a car, buy a bike and save instead! I purchased a truck from them December 2016. The truck had minor mechanical issues that I was told could be fixed under the warranty YET whenever I tried to get the repairs there was some excuse from them. I let it go and continued to drive the truck until the transmission started going bad. They knew the truck was awful when they sold it so I did a voluntary repo. GAVE IT BACK AND THEY CALLED REPEATDLY ASKING ME IF I WANTED IT BACK SINCE THEY repaired IT! No sir, you can keep the truck. Fast forward to May 2018, The truck has sold to a new owner after I gave it back in Oct 2017. Ive been taking hits on my credit since then and finally it sales and they show me no proof or contact me, I found out by seeing it out on the road. I contact them and STILL no word on paperwork confirming the sale and setting me free from these crooks! Lawyers will be involved.
Bought a truck January 4th. Battery was dead when I test drove it, they jumped it and said it was fine. It died on my test drive, had to wait 25 minutes for someone to come give me a jump. Asked if it was the alternator and they assured me it was not. 3 says later my children and I were stranded in freezing temps due to the alternator. They towed it. 4 days later I say there until it was finished. Told them I noticed a transmission leak, they said it was fine, they put some sealant on it January 25th I could not put the vehicle into reverse. Called them and dropped it off the 26th. Waited an entire week and called them on Friday to check on it. I was told it was being towed to the transmission shop that afternoon and that it would only take about a half a day to rebuild the transmission. Called Monday February 3rd and was told it should be getting towed to the transmission shop today or tomorrow. The whole time, they are asking for a payment while I have spent $500 on a rental to get my kids to school and myself to work! Contacting my lawyer tomorrow.
I dont know if anyone from RPM reads this but your salesperson there lost his salesmanship card when I ask about a car which posted had a 109k but in reality had 190k...and the price was way above kbbs priceline... the interior of the car was dingy to say the least...but the ultimate smack in face was the price he quoted me...he should have been put on the used car dealers hall of shame for quoting me the price he did...
So I purchased two vehicles from these scammers. Although I got something that ran nice for a year. They dont have a care in the world for people who are making payments and then when you cant they just come take your vehicle at 11:15pm. This is low even when they told me that I could make a payment on Saturday. Last time I checked today is Friday. The people in the service department dont know what they are doing. The sales people are great people, but the people in the office that take payments dont keep track of anything and never take notes on accounts.
My husband used to work for RPM. Working on engines and transmissions for them..... That being said, they still owe him a 2,000 pay check. And they always told him to just fix what little as possible that he could just so it would drive for 2 months. Dont worry about making it run for a long time. Well my husband being the amazing man he was he put more time into the projects sent to him because he didnt want to screw people over. Finally they stopped sending him vehicles because in their own words.... All the vehicles you fix never come back and wr are losing money. They still have not sent or given him his last pay check for 2,000. And that was four years ago... I hope this helps someone who thinks they should go through RPM. Worst place ever. Just trying to scam good people out of their money. Anything on any of their lots are worth 1,000 dallors at best. Doesnt matter the newer cars.
TOTAL SCAM...I am filing a law suit Tuesday next week. Not even going to begin to explain what a joke RPM is. Media returned my call and will be covering my story.RUN RUN as fast as you can. I wouldnt even give them one star.
We actually had a great experience with them. Our salesperson was nice and honest (I think his name was Todd) about their situation and what they do there. I mean it sucks to be in a position to have to purchase a car from a high interest place like this but unfortunately thats what happens when your credit sucks (I know because my credit sucks). I had very few other options and was able to get a car that I love and everyone was up front about what they are there and that if you dont make payments they will take the car because ultimately they own it until you pay it off. Any loan company will come and take your car if you dont pay it, and RPM does take it quicker than most other companies would but at the same time, thats what happens when you dont (or cant) pay your bills. We have always paid our car payment on time and have never had any problems with them.
Jeff is one of the ride or die people I know
Bought an 08 impala and its great! runs and drives great and there finance department is great to deal with!
Vehicle was not ready as it was supposed to be. Things were not fixed as they said they would fix them. And the vehicle started falling apart as I left the lot and all the manager said was go to one of our side stores and tell them I sent you. I had. Warranty yet no one would honor it. Service was good and quick and friendly before I paid. But after I signed my name on everything I wasnt important anymore.
I rate RPM a f****** 0!! Anyone who has begun the process of filing a lawsuit PLEASE CONTACT ME! I wont describe my whole experience but if anyone is serious about suing them contact me and I will tell you my whole story! Also, I am writing a letter to the attorney general describing what happened there and how they committed fraud. If enough people send letters they will investigate in hopes of getting them shut down! Also write one to the better business bureau who will also investigate. Keep these crooks out of business and dont even give them a penny unless you want to be lied to, lose money, and your credit ruined!
I was recommended to go to a dealership to get car keys made. I found this nifty place in frandor of Lansing that actually does this for less then what a car dealership does it for. Champion wanted $164 for the key + $60 for programming! The keyless shop in frandor did it for $125! Boo to dealerships!!
Save your money and pay cash for a car. This place is a joke, they will scam you as much as can. I have not made a payment for over 18 months and they continue to hit me with late payments and they will not repo the car because they said its not worth it for them to come get it(car broke down in texas) not to mention 2 weeks after getting the car the transmission went out. It took them 5 weeks to get it fixed and refused to tell me who performed the repairs. F#$@ RPM. Any pro bono lawyers out there, lots of pissed customers and thats sad. Hell i know i would give a piece of the pie just to see them gone.
I just being ripped off!! I purchased a 2010 Chevorlet Equinox this vehicle worth a penny. I need a new engine. Their body shop was supposed to put a whole new engine it...but they did! They let my vehicle sit there until my warranty exp. I have wasted monies and time with them! The owner son Jeff is liar!!! I am file a complaint with General Attorney ANF the Secretary of State. I dont recommend them
The main manger bill i believe his name is has been nothing but rude and not helpful what so ever. Sold me a vehicle and i broke down not even 24 hours later with my 2 young children in the car. I went in he was horribly rude to me said i just sell cars not my problem had me take it to service were they took it with no estimate on how long im going to be without a car. The cars might look alright but they are lemons! Dont get stuck having to chose between paying for a car you will barley be able to drive or have your credit ruined for giving the pos up. Do not go here it is not worth it! This is not just me i have 2 brother in laws and boyfriend that got vehicle from here all have problems one of them went 2 months without his truck while they fixed it got it back for a short time and had to go right back. Unreliable cars and the main manger is very disrespectful please i urge you to take your business eles where!!!
If anyone actually has a lawsuit started please contact me. I will gladly take part. My bad for not double checking but they LIED about the mileage by 100k miles on a car i bought. Now Im stuck with it and will probably be paying on it long after the motor blows.
F this company I got a truck from them and it is under warranty and they keep spinning me because the cant fix it.the sales rep said Id be better of paying for it out my pocket .wtf is the warranty for, Im also in the presses of filing suite. Do not buy a anything from rpm I dont care how bad your credit is its not worth the hazel.
Never go to Todd kemp or anyone here. They will take your money and give you a two day working car. Todd kemp took $1,070 of my money and his supervisor allowed him to let me drive around on an expired dealer plate. They are rude and i would not recommend them to satan himself.
I will not get another vehicle from them nothing was fixed. Had to pay for someone else to fix my van . Disgraceful
Absolutely terrible prices and terrible service. When I tried to talk on the phone the salesman was extremely rude to begin with, and when I tried to negotiate a little bit on his ridiculous pricing, he instantly called me a rude name and hung up on me... Absolutely unprofessional.
Overpriced garbage cars, horrible service especially Jeff.
Seem like nice people that try to help and work with you.
Talked on the phone with David from Sales. Brief summary of service: extremely rude, unhelpful, and disrespectful. I would not recommend doing business with these people if your used car isnt worth much or theyll treat you like garbage.
RPM is a great nusiness and their staff is friendly and always smiling..
Thay lie cant keep appointments can openly joke about scamming people and are extremely rude and the manager jeff is just a scamer and a lier
The worst ever, the whole entire company, all locations, car had problems from day one, tried to take it back, they refused to take it, so I refuse to pay for it. So here comes the Repo company they hired....this guy comes from down the street, blocks the front of my car, so I tried to back up, he gets out of the Plain truck with a KNIFE!!!! yes a KNIFE!!! in trys to stab the tire while Im backing up with my child in the car. He misses so then he tried to ram the front of the car with his truck! So Im freaking out an my son is almost in tears, afraid.. because I dont know who this nut is, so Im trying to get away, in of course hes following me...I was trying to get somewhere with a lot of people around, just in case he wanted to use that Knife. DONT EVER USE THIS CAR COMPANY EVER!!!!
Dont trust the scammer and the hacks they have working on the cars
A lot of people say bad things about RPM RPM is a good place on the South Side north side and not the South Side will take very good care of you and they will actually work with you
Terrible place. Repair shop doesnt know what they are doing.
Horrible place to buy a car especially when the dealer owns its own junk yard yes I said junk yard guess were they get most their parts . Does any one wonder what RPM stands for Raping People Monthly service is no better then Popeyes on mlk
This place is very very shady. Do not ever use them.....
Dont like paying for a car but when no other place will accept you these guys will. You do what you have to do.
Not so happy I had a 2007 Dodge Charger I only drove it 9 months lights start blinking on and off inside and out something under the car fell and it would cut off in the middle of me driving I almost had a couple accidents with this car because of these problems I called rpm to let them know and they told me it’s nothing they can do just get it there when I first got it a light popped up and he put in a code and it went away the light came back on and that’s when all the problems started my mechanic told me it shouldn’t have been for sale because of the issues it had and all 3 were safety issues that car could of killed me and it start smoking from the inside someone was racing the vehicle and did bad damage to it I don’t recommend anyone get a car from here I’m still looking into filing a lawsuit for putting me and my kids in danger like that and the guy on the phone was very rude
Joke guy comes out with good all over his hands then come to find out what we talked about I the phone wasnt even on the lot yet.
Good people
Dealing with them for my wifes vehicle, grand river and Waverly location, lansing mi
Horrible people !!!!!! Scam . They lie to you. Wont fix anything they say . Buyers be ware ....
If i could give a halfstar i would they are rude and the cars are junk and over priced
Terrible people. Rip offs.
At first everything was fine and they tell you that they will fix whats wrong with the vehicle ..they did fix the small stuff but never fixed the big things that were wrong with the vehicle...one thing I can say is that if you run into problems with your payments they will work with you as long as your honest and up front with them.
Horrible service through the shop.. they don’t even know what oil to put in a car also they lie about vehicles.. the whole company is a joke
Nice vehicles, shady workers
Rpm is some scammers dont recommend them
Slow moving and the whole company has no customer service skills
