I can not say enough good things about Metro Eye! I was dealing with an emergency two days before I left for my wedding and they squeezed me in and provided me with the best care! Turns out there was metal stuck in my eye and Dr. Amanda took such good care of me and made me feel so comfortable. She was even able to schedule a follow up appointment ASAP just before I leave to make sure it was healing correctly. Beautiful facility and amazing staff! Love this place!

Dr. Jankowski and her team are amazing. Hands down the best experience from an eye health and fashion standpoint. Also to anyone claiming they just care about $ and pressuring you into an expensive purchase, thats not true from experience. I told the staff what I could afford and they helped me find an appropriate frame and lens combination to fit my situation. They also gave my husband a free pair of frames to hold him over while his new frames came in, they refused to let him leave with electrical tape on his frames. Dont make assumptions because its a boutique in the 3rd ward, you need to communicate your budget upfront and they will find options for you.

Dr. Amy is smart, fast, always friendly. We take our little ones to see her and she is amazing with them! The whole family goes to see her! The office is always clean, great and knowledgeable staff! I would recommend Dr. Amy to all! She has helped me with my dry eyes and taught me things about eyelids I wouldn’t have known otherwise. My eyes are heathy and I have her to thank!

I have been a patient at Metro eye for a few years. I recently had another annual eye exam. I am again impressed with Dr. Amy, the office and the staff. Thorough, personable and informative! I get a quality visit that I haven’t experienced anywhere else. I have already recommended Dr. Amy and Metro Eye to my family and if you are considering becoming a patient here do it! I come from the suburbs, there is a parking garage and they validate the ticket. It’s super easy to get to the office. Took my 90 year old mom with aphasia in after her complaints that she couldn’t see. ( since she can’t really speak, it took awhile to understand what she was trying to communicate). Rachel and Dr Amy were incredibly kind and patient with Ma- and came up with a solution so she will be able to see a lot better. I don’t have enough good words to share about our experience at Metro Eye.

I was told about Metro Eye by an acquaintance after telling her I was contemplating getting contacts. She had nothing but great things to say about them, so I decided to set up an appointment. I had a vision test, and was fitted for both contacts and new lenses for my glasses. I’ve been there several times now for this process, and every time I’ve been there, the staff has been both pleasant and professional. Dr. Amy is a great eye doctor. Not only is she extremely thorough, but she really listens to you and does her best to achieve the best possible vision. She has a warm personality making you feel comfortable to thoroughly explain your needs and goals. Dee Dee helped fit me for my glasses, and she has been wonderful too. All of the technicians I’ve worked with have been extremely kind and never made me feel rushed. In addition, I appreciate that they have very good Covid protocols in place to make sure that everyone feels safe and comfortable. It’s a great place.

Im genuinely impressed with them. The staff are all nice and helpful. They offer a ton of frames that arent just from luxottica. The optometrists (and techs) have done a wonderful job in tailoring my prescription to adapt to my career in front of a computer monitor. Truly, Im very happy and cant recommend them highly enough.

Dr. Jankowski and her team do an amazing job. They walk you through the entire process and explain everything they are doing during the exam, once the exam is over the doctor will then go over your results and answer any questions. Very professional, efficient, and caring.

Great selection of eyewear. Exam was no fuss. They have some super pricey frame options and Deedee pulled ones in my budget that looked great with no pressure to buy a pricey pair.Basically the polar opposite experience of those chains like lense crafters.

Excellent experience end-to-end! First, a skilled tech; next, Dr. Amy J. was dynamite -- knowledgeable, polite, thorough -- and finally the retail staff completed the visit with grace and care. New script, new progressives, seamless process. The challenge with any eye doctor is the communication between the medical and the retail and Metro Eye accomplishes this with ease. My visit at Metro Eye went wonderfully, up until the end where they try to sell you their glasses and contacts. I had to go due to my glasses breaking and did not have thousands available for eyewear at the time, as I was a full time student. I made this point to the woman who was attempting to sell me their products, to which her response was to bring me glasses with exclusive frames from Spain that cost far too much, and to over-charge me on contacts. I would recommend seeing their professional medical staff for your eye exam and purchasing your eyewear somewhere else unless you enjoy that kind of sales treatment.

I have been using Metro Eye for my eye care since Dr. Jankowski opened in the Third Ward 20 years ago. They have grown to three doctors in that time. They are consummate professionals and current in ophthalmology practices. I feel confident going to any of the three for my care and have done so for different reasons as my eyes have aged. In this world of big medicine, Metro Eye is in that corner of it which still delivers personalized care and concern for your well being first. The opticians are equally competent in their field and will work with you to get the best fit for your glasses as well as the best lens for your prescription. They regularly go to the style shows to choose the newest design in frames for the shop. Metro Eye has been chosen best in Milwaukee for eye care for several years.

I have been a patient at Metro Eye for several years and have been pleased with the comprehensive eye care provided by Dr. Amy Jankowski and Dr. Kaelyn Zaporski, along with their technicians (Amy Michalek). I was just in today for my 2nd Lipoflo appointment for dry eye and had a safe and comfortable experience with not only Amy but also Sami. They were comprehensive in explaining the procedure as they did it and provided me with the post care instructions and follow-up. As a Nurse Practitioner, I notice these details which are so important when trusting your eyes to eye care providers!

New to Milwaukee, I had a wonderful first experience with MetroEye. They asked a lot of questions about how and when I wear my contact and glasses, which resulted in great advice about my daily contact wearing, and also informed the new lenses they prescribed. I havent had a lot of time with the lenses yet, but so far they are great. They explained the selections I was making to be sure I didnt have any questions, and reviewed my insurance to help me get the best price--breaking every cost down before I said yes. Everyone was incredibly friendly. Both my contacts and new lenses/glasses arrived quickly. I also appreciated the COVID protocols, everything was cleaned and everyone was wearing masks.

My wife called to confirm our insurance was accepted and they said it was, we then provided them the info which they took. We scheduled an appointment for their next available which was several weeks out. They called a day before our appointment to again collect our insurance information. We were confused because they had previously collected it. We asked again if our insurance was accepted and they again confirmed. We got a call 20 minutes later stating that our insurance was not accepted. My wife now has to wait several more weeks to be seen elsewhere and will not be able to purchase new contacts as her prescription has expired.On a separate note, when I was being seen at MetroEye I had photos taken at each visit of my iris to monitor a nevus. I switched providers last year and my new optometrist couldnt even use the photos MetroEye had taken from the previous 2 years because the resolution was so low. This makes me question the quality of their equipment which has always seemed outdated as well as the optical nerve photo which they upsell for ~$30 when you check-in. - Many places provide this with your visit.The staff are friendly but my wife and I have really gotten the sense that administratively they dont know exactly what is going on, the equipment underperforms, and we were never fans of being forced to sit down and pressured into buying up-charged glasses and contacts with every visit.

I was referred to them after having an issue with my eye. They saw me right away (even stayed late to ensure I was okay)! They took their time to patiently explain everything and answer all of my questions without making me feel like I was asking silly questions. Recently I purchased a pair of defective frames. They were quick to replace them. It is when things do not go well when you appreciate the dedication to customer service and loyalty.

Recently had my annual eye exam and contact lens fitting. The contacts are perfect and it was so easy to order and have them delivered to my home. The staff was very friendly and professional throughout my visit. The frame selection is gorgeous! Love this place!

Everyone was really helpful and knew exactly what they were doing. I was relieved that they called and scheduled a follow up appointment with another specialist before I left the office. They also carefully explained everything my insurance covered and outlined each expense.Picking out my new frames was a great experience too! The over all cost was a little high, but their quality and uniqueness were worth it!

This place is not cheap, but it’s also not owned by luxottica and they’ll treat even some no insurance cash paying shlub like myself with patience and dignity. They offered me a sizable percentage off due to me paying out of pocket. I expressed a desire to get my prescription absolutely perfect due to issues in the past and they spent all the time in world to get it right. I don’t live in the area anymore but would certainly go back for a check up given the opportunity.

I would not recommend Metro Eye. There were a couple of things that I believe, as a health provider, they should have done differently. They charged my insurance/me extra (beyond the usual eye exam fee) for a further look into a dry eye condition. Not only did I have to come back for another appointment before I could receive my contacts, but I was not notified that I would be charged the additional appointment fee.The day I received my prescription, I went to get glasses and a few weeks later, sent the invoice to my insurance. Because Metro Eye did not process my contacts purchase until MONTHS later, I had issues with insurance billing. The Metro Eye staff was incredibly unhelpful and stated that typically, they take six months or so to send invoices to insurance (and ultimately this caused a problem for me since my insurance paid for either contacts or eye glasses and they did not receive the contacts bill in a timely manner). I will not be going to Metro Eye again, which is unfortunate because the Doctor herself was pleasant and so was her assistant who did some of the testing.

Be careful!! they wont provide a complete eye prescription to buy a frame and lenses. They didnt want provide me all exact detail like PD to buy the correct frame and lenses. they ask for extra charge to provide PD. They told me I need frame and lenses from them which is not acceptable AS their prices are too high compared to other places...

Called to schedule an appointment to meet & greet, understand services and costs and all the lady wanted was my insurance info before she would make an appointment. Imagine going to a restaurant to be told they want to see your cash first before you can look at the menu. No thanks.

Very modern, clean, and beautiful place. The optician tech and Dr. were very friendly, personable, and welcoming; the two ladies at the reception desk were somewhat the opposite of those things. They weren’t exceptionally friendly. The Dr. performed a through exam and answered the questions that i had. However, if you are looking for budget friendly eyeglass frames or contact lens exam/fitting, this would not be the place to go. The contact lens fitting few it $89-169 and more than half of the frames i looked at were $657 or more! The frames are grossly overpriced! Would i go back? Yes, for an eyeglasses exam only and for the cleanliness and esthetics of the place

Sales will pressure you to buy their expensive glasses and contacts even if you tell them. I wouldnt recommend going here.

I would definitely recommend Metro Eye for anyone who is seeking exceptional quality care. I look for high quality stylish frames to change things up every once in a while and they seem to have a variety of frames that met my criteria. Jessica was my optical consultant and she found me the perfect pair of customized frames. Good quality service seemed to be a hit or miss at the previous places I went to, so I was glad to see that the staff and management was responsive to what I asked for and made sure I was satisfied with my frames and eye care before I left the store. Everyone should stop by and see if they have something you like, or else you can customize like I did to get a frame that fit my need.

The eye exam itself was amazing--Ive had other eye exams but none surpass the caliber of Metro Eye. The equipment used was high tech and very effective. Billing & insurance was easy to review. Staff was kind, patient, thorough; everything I was NOT getting at my last optometrist. You get what you pay for and while they may not offer $30 frames, they are very conscious of cost and are willing to help where they can! Plus, the quality of service and the products are exemplary. My technician, Amy M, is always knowledgeable, professional and showcases amazing customer service. She even went out to plug my meter when I told her I was running low! Also, you will notice right away Dr. Amy is one of the best optometrists around.With what seems like cutting edge equipment and a beautiful building, you wont be sorry you stopped in. I dont even live downtown anymore and I still go there.

These guys have amazing customer service came in to get an adjustment on my frames from out of town which were in rough condition, they ended up breaking and they replaced the frames no questions asked. Cant say enough about this shop, incredible service and really kind people.

Wont go anywhere else. The doctor is great & informative. They always have the latest & greatest in technology & frames. Frames are a little pricey but worth paying more for their excellent customer care. Ive been going here for a little over 3 years and will not go anywhere else. 100% satisfied every time.

Great office staff, very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Dr. Jankowski is very knowledgeable and listens to what you are saying to get you into the most comfortable and functional contact lenses. Been wearing glasses on and off for about 20 years, in multiple cities and countries. Metro Eyes quality of both product and customer service are as others have noted -- exemplary.They go above and beyond to provide as customized experience as possible. A multi-week process with Luanne of tweaking sizes and shapes, ordering, building and trying test pairs, discussing coatings, index values and all the rest. A significant investment of both time and money, but the process silenced my doubts and answered my questions as to whether Im getting the exact frames and lenses I want custom built and fit to my face by an expert.Theyre not cheap. Most of what they sell is handmade and/or custom. If Im wearing something on top of my face for up to 18 hours a day for the next 3-5 years -- Ill make the investment.FOUR-YEAR-LATER FOLLOWUP: They continue to impress with the levels of attention & customer service provided. Even through a global pandemic theyve been beyond accommodating, helpful, and a joy to work with throughout. Cant say enough good things about this place.

Went in for an annual eye exam and contacts fitting. The assistant dilated my pupils first before they checked me for my eye prescription, which I found odd. As the result, everything was very blurry when they were checking me for my prescription. Despite the fact, I still ordered my contacts based on the prescription I got from the doctor. I started noticing something was definitely off when I started driving at night; it became hard for me to see at night because of astigmatism. As the result, I went to another eye doctor for a second opinion, he said they were not suppose to dilate my pupils first. The new prescription I got from the second eye doctor was quite different than what I got from Metro Eye, so basically I wasted all my annual eye insurance coverage on the wrong prescription and had to pay out of pocket for the second eye exam and new contact lenses. I still cant believe a professional place would make a simple mistake like this. So yeah I would suggest you take your business elsewhere.

Service could be improved. Wrong prescription was applied to my glasses and the staff failed to notify me about delays. I had to reach out and ask about the status of my order.

I had the wonderful privilege and opportunity last summer to shadow Dr. Zaporski at Metro Eye. All of the staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable. They made me feel welcomed when I was nervous. I learned so much from my shadowing experience! I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to learn more about optometry through my shadowing at Metro Eye! At Metro Eye everyone truly works as a team to ensure that their patients have the best vision possible.

Precise eye exams and great customer service.

Before visiting Metro Eye I hadnt been to the eye doctor in years, so I thought it was about time I had my eyes checked. I couldnt have chosen a better office to visit! First of all, the space looks great. It doesnt have the cold, clinical feel of a typical eye doctors office, and the selection of eyewear is incredible. On top of that the staff is amazing! Very friendly and helpful. Dr. Zaporski did a great job of explaining everything and answering my questions. I will definitely be recommending Metro Eye in the future!

Metro Eye has a wonderful staff and is very professional, they will help you meet your needs and work with you on any eye concerns you may have. Parking is metered, so you will want to have the MKE Parks App when you go there. Its also easier to make appointment during the day time business hours if you are concerned about parking. If you wear contacts, note that its going to cost you $89-$195 to get your contacts fitted (regardless of whether or not they are the same ones you have been wearing). Glasses selections are good, and various lens types are offered. It was shared that they are willing to work within your price range with a decent selection of frames ranging between $150-$200 (in looking on my own I noted that they go up significantly in price from there). If you dont have insurance, a discount is applied to assist in the cost. Just ask for help!

I’ve never left a review on Google before but I am so pleased with my visit here I felt I needed to. I was able to get in really quickly (I booked an appointment for 8:55am at 10:30pm the night before) using their online scheduling tool and Dr. Kaelyn Zaporski was great. She caught an issue with my vision that went beyond the standard stuff I’ve been screened for in the past that had been missed for many years by other doctors but impacts my vision and is most likely contributing to my chronic migraine. She explained everything very clearly as well as what changes she was going to make to my prescription. The staff was very helpful in pulling frames for me as well. I’ve never been so excited for new glasses but more importantly a new view of the world thanks to the extra attention paid by the people who work here. Thank you so much.

I brought a pair of fairly expensive Oliver Peoples glasses to be lensed by the staff here following an eye exam and after I got them back from their lab it turned out that the frame was warped, which I found odd. My instinct was that this must have been a manufacturing defect that I simply overlooked before.I asked the staff if it was fixable and they said unfortunately no a defect like that would not be fixable but you can get a new pair and have the same lenses put in your new glasses.I went about getting a replacement pair claiming a defect and was able to secure one. Brought it back to Metro Eye and had the SAME THING happen, the glasses just did not fit right after they put the lenses in. I was later told that this is caused by over-heating the frame. I asked why the new lenses felt so odd (in terms of vision) and they told me that they just take a while to get used to. My vision felt warped but I took their word for it. I was actually getting headaches.Well, I was at a different optician for a separate repair and they took one look at my frame and said wow your frame is warped. Basically, the people at Metro Eye overheated my frames and jammed the lenses in causing an astigmatism. So the frame is warped and the lenses are warped. This happened twice, with two different pairs of glasses. Thats why my vision seemed warped and continues to seem warped and why my glasses dont fit quite right: the lenses that they charged me hundreds of dollars for were bent out of shape. Im basically out 600 dollars for the cost of the frames which are ruined and the cost of the lenses which were also ruined.

My contacts were not agreeing with me this morning AND last time I wore my glasses I the old pads rubbed my nose raw. So after a bus ride to work, with glasses in pocket and no contacts I called them because they were closest. They let me come in 20 mins before the officially opened, put new pads on, and cleaned my glasses for free. Great service!

After not seeing an eye doctor for 15+ years, and after reading multiple reviews on a few different places within Milwaukee. I made the decision to go to Metro Eye without a doubt in my mind that I would have a great expirence JUST from reading the reviews.After arriving I was shocked at how great this place looked both within the location in the 3rd ward along with inside of the showroom/office. It was bright and inviting with tons of room to walk around and try different styles on. The staff made me feel very welcomed, answered any of my questions I had, and did a very through job when first checking my eyes. From what I could tell their equipment is top notch, and my optometrist was very detail oriented when it came to getting my perscription right the first time.My optical stylist was Luanne and she was absolutely phenomenal. She did not sell me anything that I didnt need, only what I wanted. She saved me as much money as she could with the expsensive brand frames I found and liked. She kept me updated with the status of my frames being made in Germany and arriving in the store. That goes without saying, from watching and over hearing the other stylist work and talk with other customers they all seem very friendly and very helpful.I have absolutely no complaints about Metro Eye. This was the best expirence I think I could have possibly had being that this was my first time in so many years not seeing an eye doctor and being told I needed to wear glasses. I would highly recommend this place to anybody.Just a side note, they dont have cheap 40 dollar frames. If i had to make an estimate I would say they have mid-high end priced frames. Though price was not going to limit me on what I felt looked good on my face. Plus in my opinion quality products, cost money.
