At my request they checked my brakes, which have been grinding since last brake job and recommended I return to the original shop that did the work. I appreciate that they didnt try to sell me on something to up their invoice to me.

Changing my review. Right now all I will say is that they do care about what is said about them. Went in for a smog check left without working break lights and signals. 2 relays were taken out and I was sent out to drive an unsafe vehicle. They refuse to take responsibility and even accused me of sabotaging my own vehicle. I have spent over $200 and am left with a nonoperative vehicle and difficulty in finding replacement parts due to supply line problems. Gave one star only because I cant give no stars. My suggestion is to go to any other mechanic, there are plenty close by that are far more ethical and wont steal from you and leave you stranded. In response to their response to my review here. I do not appreciate their vilification of me. I am an honest person. All I wanted was to be treated fairly. I did notice that I had no turn signals early on but assumed that since I had one light burn out that the other had done the same. This was discovered the same day. I didnt realize that my brake lights were out till the night time. Usually one doesnt notice that till the police or another driver alert them. Their accusation of me not knowing that I had signals when I came in is ridiculous and insulting. They are covering themselves over a couple of $10 parts. If they were so reputable as they claim then that would be a small price to pay for their rep. I am not here to settle some vendetta for not passing smog as they would have you think. I simply want a working vehicle and not a lawn ornament. While I dont think the management is crooked, the mechanic that worked on my vehicle is. Management there is of course responsible for their employees and their actions. But it seems that $20 ish of parts is not worth saving their reputation. I still would never let them work on any of vehicles again due to the treatment I have received. At the very least they should give me a refund since no one should have to pay to be robbed.

Had to get brake and light certificates for my car. I was on time for my appointment, they told me it would be an hour and a half and I was done in 45 minutes. Very professional. The place was very clean and the service was great. Their prices were good so Ill probably go back for some brake service when needed.

Be aware of their coupon scam. I have a 2001 Jetta. And got a straightforward smog with no additional fees other than certification. The day I searched for an affordable location for a smog their coupon said $30 off which was the best local deal I found. Every where else was about $10-$15 off which would bring their total to roughly $19-24. When I was done I was told my total was $24. This means they charge roughly $54 for a basic smog where the average in the area is $29-34. I should have been aware of the scam because they didnt have a total without coupon anywhere. I will never return and for sure tell everyone not to go here either.

Great service! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I called this morning to see if I could bring my car in for a STAR smog check. They were able to schedule me in for the exact time I was hoping for. They were ready for me when I got there.Everyone was very nice. The waiting area is clean and very welcoming. They have fresh coffee and water. My car was ready in less than 20 min, but I wouldnt have minded waiting longer because it really is that welcoming.Ill definitely be going back when its time to fix up the paint on my car.

Great initial experience! The first thing you notice when you enter the lobby is how clean and attractive it is. The two people I dealt with were polite, and friendly. I had a discount coupon and they accepted it without any issues. Most places try to find an excuse not to accept coupons, but not this place. They understand every coupon holder is a potential repeat customer. The next day I received a text message to make sure everything was ok. This is great customer service.

Excellent service and repairs on our Honda but disappointed in the cleaning of the headlights. Not as clear as I felt they should have been. Better job on my Elantra than on the Honda. Didnt have time to address this with them as we were moving and didnt have the time.The people are fantastic, and their mechanical work is impeccable.

Had just bought a used car from a private seller and found out when I went to AAA to take care of the title transfer it needed a smog check. I was trying to get everything taken care of on a Saturday. Called up Auto Care Experts. They stayed late to take my car even though I didnt show up until past their scheduled closing time. Finished the smog test quickly allowing me to get my registration process taken care of the same day.

After some questionable local experiences, I made a special trip back to the area mainly to have my vehicle serviced in a place where I dont have to worry about being scammed. Im sure Ill have trust issues with any other auto repair shop.2020: This was my 2nd experiene with the Auto Care Experts. I had a malfunctioning passenger window. I arrived as a walk-in and the problem was fixed and the car returned to me only an hour later. Trusted quality work from auto body, mechanical and electrical work, they seem to do it all here :]

Just found out we paid more than the dealership would charge for parts! If youre looking for a deal this is NOT a place to go for service. While they may talk the talk...well thats all it is TALK! My oil change cost $63 while much dealership charges $58!!! $2400 dollars later...I write this because you all should know this business is a RIP OFF. You are better off going to the dealership!

Our Mercedes R350 had a big crack in the front bumper. Fred and his team were able to repair it at less than half the cost of replacing it with a new part. The fixed bumper looks as good as new! I would highly recommend this shop.

I found Auto Care Experts because it is located close to where I live and I really feel like I lucked out finding them. I bring my SUV here for all my car needs/advice. Ive had regular maintenance done like oil changes, coolant and brake fluid checks, smog check, combustion, and others. They are a trustworthy auto shop. I feel comfortable when I bring my car in and the service is very friendly and knowledgeable. I will continue to bring my car here because they do quality work and its great to trust a mechanic when I depend on my car to run everyday for my job. Ive also talked to my neighbor who has had a lot of work done on his truck at this shop and he said this is the only place hell go to. That was good confirmation for me from what I had already observed.

These guys are the best. I brought my car here 4 times the last 1.5 year since Ive had so many different things braking down on it, I got a 98 Suburban. They always give me a good price and excellent customer service. Ive been to a couple different places before autocare experts but non of them has the same kind of customer service and expertise. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesnt want to get ripped off and who want excellent car care.

Couldnt be happier! Fred and his crew did a BANG UP JOB repairing my Audi S5. Their attention to detail and and customer service has been second to none! Not to mention Fred dealt with the insurance companys ridiculously low estimate to repair my car, thereby saving me time!

Fair warning about the shady owner.I brought my Shelby Mustang in for a smog check and had a coupon for a $27 smog, plus certificate fees. A minute into the process the owner chimed, he wasnt working with me directly, and told me my price would be $40 plus the certificate fee. I questioned it since the coupon stated $27 for cars. He told that the Shelby has different emission points that are further into the vehicle and takes more time. I laughed, grabbed my paperwork and left. This is not my first time to smog this car. Theres no difference in emissions between a regular Mustang and a Shelby. This guy just wants to make a quick buck on the easy targets.BTW, I went to ProMax Auto about an hour later and paid $28 plus the certificate fee. The tests are all automatic now, besides the visual inspection of the engine, and are all done through the ODB II port. Plug in a module and wait. And Auto Care Experts charge more for this on specialty vehicles where the emissions are the same as the non-specialty vehicles.

Fred and the staff here are absolutely amazing, Im a HUGE pain in the ass with my car and Im very meticulous about who cares for it, I will never ever take my car to any other place. Fred upfront even went to the extent for a customer who was elder to help them with paperwork regarding registration when the man was having a hard time doing it, they go above and beyond and the best thing about this all is that they are HONEST. I get letters and coupons from Audi asking me to bring my car there -- same from Toyota but you cant beat Auto Cares quality care and prices. I wont go anywhere else!

Great customer service, friendly and knowledgeable! Large shop clean and even has a body shop. Perfect for all your one stop needs. I had some front brake noise and they were able to take me in right away and fix my truck. While in the shop they noticed some other things my truck needed that were not observed at the previous shop and took the time to show me the concerns and explained what the parts did and what the repair consisted of. Due to the lengthy repair they gave me a loaner car so I wouldnt lose time from work. They even detailed my car as a way of showing they appreciated my business. I recommend them to all my friends and family and recommend anyone reading this go by and see for yourself what a great shop this is.

I moved from Irvine to Mission Viejo in 2012; While living in Irvine if I ever needed auto repair service Id go to a family friend. His shop is in Santa Ana. So when I noticed that a repair light on my 350z was on I searched the web to find a local shop with good reviews. I found Auto Care Experts, the reviews were very good and it happened to be right down the street from my house. I drove over without an appointment and to my surprise Fred greeted me, offered to take a look at my car... AND, offered to loan me one of his cars to drive until mine was fixed. Its difficult to say enough good things about this shop, but all that really needs to be said is that I bought a car from them, signed a contract saying that they werent liable for anything wrong with the car, and that when the car did in fact have a problem, they fixed it without charge. I believe that this generous service is simply a reflection of the values that this family owned establishment embodies. Fundamentally, they go above and beyond the call of duty.

Couldnt be more happy with the service! My engine was shaking periodically so I took it to a local garage to have it checked out. They couldnt tell me what was going on but gave me an expensive quote. Called Auto Care Experts and talked to Fred who spent time with me on the phone asking about the cars history and what was going on. He made sane suggestions so I had them look at my car. After the diagnosis Fred was very thorough about explaining what needed to be replaced to keep me safe on the road and what could wait. The price to get everything fixed was much better than previously quoted. As a woman I am always so worried about getting ripped off at these auto repair shops but now I feel confident that I found an honest place to take my car in for repairs. Car runs great now...Highly recommend them!

He found a manufacturing problem that had not been put out on a recall. Fred called and took the car over to Mercedes and picked it up for us. He works on all our cars.
