Super cute boutique I love finds like these. My boyfriend and I visited New Orleans from Florida and this was a great experience this store was such a nice find. Friendly woman working there (: she was very observant she noticed my boyfriend and I looking at some handmade journals and could tell we weren’t local and recommended we see another cool shop around the corner with similar items will definitely not only go back to NOLA but also go back to this boutique
Little store, bought me my own Gargoyle, lots great homemade items. Wish I could smell this place (pretty incense) but will wear a mask if required.
This store is really cool. The prices where not Gouging. And very unique one-of-a-kind pieces we bought a few things that were super excited about. But most importantly we drove all the way back down here from Florida to come get a custom fang smithing appointment from a private party they offer. I believe his name was Melvin and he was great. Such high quality. The four stars are for the lack of customer service and bitterness from the female employee. ( not the man) overall I will come here Every time I’m in New Orleans
The shop was alright to visit ‘just because’ but please be aware that most items are just for entertainment. I made the mistake of being on the phone while shopping so I wasn’t paying much attention to the fine print and I really wish I would have. I purchased a charm candle for $9.95 which I knew was pricey but I figured since the candle was literally the size of a 50 cent short/mini candle that the charm would be somewhat worth it. See picture of charm below, it wasn’t worth it..I added a penny next to it for size reference. I also purchased a bottle of “snake oil” that as it turns out is junk ingredients & only for entertainment purposes. I knew the oil wouldn’t be actual snake oil but I did believe it would be a mix of oils that I could legitimately use. I suppose it will be an expensive Halloween decoration now. The girl at checkout didn’t speak to me or my sister until my sister initiated conversation about the book the girl was reading. My sister also got a charm candle and a small sheet of stickers and somehow spent $30. Neither of us were given a receipt and both of us are disappointed with the price & quality of the items. Overall it’s not entirely their fault since I wasn’t paying attention but I also feel like I completely wasted my money.
Great little place! Little bit of everything. They even have a crossbow that was used in the show Tru Blood on HBO. The coffin was a cool photo op!!!!Most importantly Josh was amazing!!!! Such great customer service. Very helpful and nice! (I told him I was HUGE on Google reviews so this one is for you, Josh! Keep up the great customer service!!)
The place is nice. The history is what brought us in period I think it could be a little bit more on the scary witch she sighed. The staff was great but I thought it was gonna be more I guess movie like.
Cool specialty shop. Husband wanted 2 Quackulas, which we got. There were some other cool and cute things inside. Prices are a little high though. Will definitely bring friends here when they are visiting from other states. I know theyll like the store too.
Curious little shop, but definitely fun.
Very small. Barely enough room to even turn around. Things are hard to find. The guy running the register was nice. But he was very much scared of covid. Required everyone to hand sanitize their hands when they came in.
Such a unique little shop, great vibes, and they ACTUALLY care about not spreading covid 🙌 love all of their related stores too!
I had a lovely time. All whom worked there were extremely nice. 10/10 would come again!!!
Friendly staff and full of unique Vampire themed merchandise. Small place, but everywhere you turn there is something new. Fantastic place to shop!
All the stuff for sale is by locals... love that. Small shop but good stuff offered for sale.
One of my favorite shops in French Quarter. I love the medley of Gothic and vampire inspired items sold here. The store keeper also had such a friendly persona which I found as a pleasant surprise considering this is a goth store. She greets everyone who comes in with a smile and a little introduction about the shop, how everything is made by local artists. A must visit shop when in NOLA.
A must see for all my immortals visiting New Orleans ;) lots of cool local art and local writers. I had so much fun looking at everything. Also, the people who work there are so kind and knowledgeable about the history! I will visit every time I’m in Nola. My fav!
Coolest shop we went into in NOLA! Vervain, wooden stakes, shrunken heads... and the owner is the coolest/sweetest guy ever. ♥️ This shop made my vampire-loving heart extremely happy. Don’t be shy! Just go in.
If you are vampire fan i would highly recommend visiting this place. I am a Vampire Diaries and The Originals fan. The woman in the store told me that the producers come in there a lot to buy the journals they have whenever there is a scene of someone writing in a journal and they support local artists. Very cool place.
Awesome shop after our dinner at vampire Cafe we got one of the cafe shirts as a souvenir
Ive read and heard other reviews but I guess it wasnt what I expected. Not to mention that the staff was on the... abrupt side.
This store is amazing. Every time I come to NoLa I make sure to stop here and the people working there are always the nicest and most helpful people.
(Visited Jan 13/17, Jan 15/17, and Jan 17/17 - Various Times)Visiting the Boutique Du Vampyre was probably one of the highlights of my trip. Id done a little research prior to actually going. This one of my FAVOURITE SHOPS in the French Quarter.Handcrafted items from Vampires Diaries, The Originals, True Blood, and Twilight, this quaint little shop has something for every vampire enthusiast.Mortals and Vampires Welcome!Marita, was absolutely welcoming, warm, friendly, everything you could want in a shop host/owner.I NEVER FELT PRESSURED to buy anything. She gave my friends and I information about all the products in the store, told us about the Secret Vampire Bar called Potions, and was very helpful showing us some of the secret and hidden gems of the French Quarter using her own handmade tourist map.I also had my Tarot read - first time, on Friday the 13th, under a Full Moon, and WOW! What an experience. My friends and I were thoroughly impressed by the hospitality of her and other employees.I highly recommend a visit to this shop for a Tarot Reading, Charm Candle, and information on any Vampire/Dark History Tours.Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
Cute but small. Prices are high and it’s cool to visit and the staff was nice
Great little shop. Staff are friendly and prices are very good.
This little shop was so unique and the people were so helpful and friendly. Great place to find amazing unique things.
Cool gift shop full of vampire stuff.
Fun place to visit. People there are really going after the originals culture. The stuff there is not always attractive though. The door is tiny, dont miss it!
Nice little shop of Vampires! Made a few purchases, nice staff. Books signed by the author, jewelry and vampire stuff! Must visit! No photos allowed!
I’m local, but I’ve somehow missed this shop in the past, but I absolutely loved my experience here! Steven was absolutely lovely! They were very informative and shared all sorts of helpful tips, places to see around the square and interesting facts and stories about the objects and creators of the items in the shop! I left with so many goodies and have plans on coming back for more 🖤 This place is definitely a must see!
If vampires is your thing then this is defintely the shop for you! So many delights to behold! I cant wait to visit agai
Very informative and educated staff on all the items available. Very small place but nice selection of different types of items vampyre related.
Great place! they sell my dads books
Really cool shop!
This shop is absolutely amazing!! I love that a great deal of their products are made by local artists!! I had custom fangs made by the Fangsmith Maven and he is amazing at his art!! I absolutely love my fangs!!
This is an amazing boutique. Not only are their in store merchandise unique and fun, their online surprise vampire boxes are amazing. This store is located just off of Bourbon Street in The French Quarter. The staff is very knowledgeable and happy to chit chat with you fangs to fangs about any of their merchandise or other services such as tarot and psychic readings. If you are deemed to be a quality human, you might also get the password to their exclusive vampire lounge, which is exquisite in itself. Wishing these two amazing places all the best and just hang in there during this time. Remember vampires are strong and can overcome! Blessed be!
She was very friendly and exciting to talk to about the items in the store Had a good time
The woman who ran the shop was extremely knowledgeable and it was refreshing to see how much she really loved her shop and what she did. I purchased this cool bag of blood and this special type of candle that Wards off bad Omens and spirits. I would definitely return to New Orleans just to visit the shop again.
You hear about a lot of places being voodoo like and you hear all the stories about how voodoo is tgis and voodoo is that....and all I gotta say is...You better believe voodoo is REAL!! Anyway this store is full of all type of cool and interesting pieces of all the stuff you heard about! So if youre ever in the area and wanna learn more about what you thought you knew... stop by and aee for yourself! The staff is very kind and informative about all of thee above.
Such a great little store for any vampire 🖤
Unique shop. Friendly staff. We love to stop in every time we are in the French Quarter.
Staff is super cool and friendly
I was so excited to go to this shop. However when I got to it I will say I was disappointed. The price on things way too much for me. They did have some nice things. Hard to explain but the women was not so nice. Thats why I did not spend my money at this shop.
Great place for any vampire fans
All things vampire.
I visit this store whenever I am in New Orleans and recently ordered the NOLA Mystery Box through their website because I was missing New Orleans. It is truly the most fun I have ever had with a mystery box and definitely worth the money. I cannot say enough nice things about Boutique Du Vampyre.
Love boutique Du Vampyre. Wish I would have visited when I was in New Orleans last year... there customer service is amazing 👏
Really neat store. Got try the cafe next door too.
Really cool vampire shop in the quarter! Costume, fangs, incense and so much more
Cute & unique
Delightful place run by a very nice lady
I love this shop. Its a little off the beaten path in terms of popular stores that maybe similar on the area, but thats whats great about it because its not overly crowded. The staff is nice, and they have some cool offerings from books to clothing.
I ordered a vampire mystery box from their online store and it was great I love it!!! I wont ruin the suprises in case someone decides to buy one but I will say that their products are well worth the money and you wont be disappointed I highly recommend and will definitely be buying more items from their online store.
Steven was very helpful and pointed out which items were used in the shows Vampire Diaries, Originals, and True Blood. One of my favorite shops to visit when in New Orleans.
A perfect place for anyone who loves vampires or anything spooky! I can’t wait to visit again sometime.
Not bad for a little novelty shop, I expect to see more original items for sale vs things I see on the internet but it was good
I absolutely love New Orleans, and how inclusive it is. It seems like theres a safe space everywhere for all groups of people. Boutique du Vampyre is that safe space for vampires and allies from both near and far. The owner, Marita, is fantastic and seems like she can strike up a conversation with just about anybody. Be sure to get a copy of one of her books while youre there! This store is filled with incredible pieces by local artists and is a must see attraction in the Quarter. Dont miss your chance to stop by! Be sure to ask about their speakeast, Potions is a truly magical space and was easily the highlight of my trip.
I love this place, I cam to this store after getting chewed out by another store for having my camera out. And when I walked in, my camera didnt bother them at all. The store itself is really cool and I bought a hand made ouija board. I will definitely be coming back to buy some more stuff.
Was awesome to visit this place
There were a few original items, but most things were for sale at every other voodoo store for a lot less. I was really hoping to find an awesome vampire artifact, but that didn’t happen. I’d still suggest going, just set your expectations appropriately.
Fun to see
This is a rad little gift shop with lots of fun trinkets and gifts. The staff are very friendly for children of the night and if you play your cards right they might just let you know about their hidden vampire speakeasy, by far my favorite spot to enjoy a drink in the Quarter
Really cool store. One of the artists was on site and chatted with us a bit. Very reasonable prices on very unusual items.
If this is your cup of tea, this is your spot
Those place was so great! Every thing was authentic and most were hand made. I love the crystal pendulum.
Super cute shop! I loved all the merch. Got myself a votive candle with a protective charm inside. Not exactly what i expected, it was a tiny cross. A little ironic that there are candle making vampires protecting mortals from vampires lol. But very much enjoyed my visit, i still loved the candle itself and the little scroll that came with it.
I really wanted to love this store. I had looked at their website and before I even got there decided I needed to have a shrunken head priced around $250. I went there when they first opened and the moment I walked in the door one of the employees told me to be careful and not touch anything because the items they sold were expensive...? From what I saw it was a bunch of cheap, touristy, novelty junk. Okay whatever. I asked to see there shrunken head selection so I could purchase it and promptly leave. I was informed that they didnt have any and had no idea when they would get more in. So why are they advertising that they sell them? The most upsetting part about walking into this closet space of a store was the constant looks of disgust and criticism. Im not really sure how they sell anything if your not allowed to look at or touch anything. They misjudged the size of my coin purse for sure.
Great place and a must to have a reading there.
Super disappointing coming to this store. There isnt anything that really stands out inside it or that you havent seen before if youre into these types of stores and have frequented others like it. Super gimmicky and the space is really small and its hot. You cant really walk inside comfortably. The staff is super nice though. The Potions Lounge speakeasy they recommend in Fritzels is a total joke - dont go there. They try to double charge you for drinks and cover and its a really sad bar.
One of the few unique shops in the French Quarter. It doesnt have the same run-of-the-mill stuff that all of the other shops in New Orleans sells. A lot of it appears to be handmade and everything is reasonably priced. Even autographed books were reasonably priced, something I did not find to be true at any other store selling autographed books in New Orleans.
My wife, daughter and I spent a nice time learning about places and mysteries, some ghosts stories around the French Quarter. It was a pleasant 2 and a half hours, it went fast. Alexandra, our guide, was well versed in the stories and history of New Orleans. We have visited NO on many occasions in the past, but tours like this one will make you more familiar with the area. There were many other tours going at the same time, their groups consisted of at least 12-15 persons, while we were a total of five. Skipping the online discounts was all worth it. I am looking forward for a food tour in the future. Thank you Alexandra
GREAT store. My wife and I met the owner and she helped us pick-out the perfect candle for. Then she suggested little spots around the quarter to visit. We did each one, and they were great spots we would have never known about. This store and the owners are a true NOLA treasure. :)
We truly enjoyed the vampire lair filled with an array of memorable, distinct items to observe or collect. The items from True Blood are especially moving! Make sure to ask about the secret, hidden vampire lounge that can only be entered with the special password! Very macabre and enticing place!!
The young ladies working in this shop were very friendly and pleasant. The shop features locally hand-made crafts that will appeal to anyone who is into anything remotely having to do with vampires. Whimsical and attractive items throughout the store. Reasonably priced. I bought a lovely hand-made bat, made of metal, and they gave me a very nice discount due to a scratch on the item. I love when a merchant is willing to go the extra mile for a client and they did just that! Cant wait to visit again next time Im in New Orleans, and I highly recommend this to anyone who likes vampires, or just enjoys a good giggle.
Amazing hand made one of a kind items. %100 check it out. Just bring a big wallet
Amazing shop with, unique boutique crafts from interesting artists. Great energy, the only thing getting sucked out was the the bank account...They wont bleed you dry...We enjoyed our shopping experience and look forward to an eternity of use from our daughters gift. Thank you for your friendly service.
Small, fascinating boutique specializing in vampire lore and fan culture with a focus on local artisans’ gifts and goods. My only wish is that it expands! Some gifts seem too expensive - $30 for a magnet gave me pause - but I also understand that artisans need to charge for their art and labor. The shopkeeper also tipped us off to a secret vampire bar, which is really cool!
Super interesting shop with lots of little handmade gifts. The owner (Im assuming she was the owner) was very sweet and gave us really great tips about where to go while in New Orleans! She then threw in a free map where she marked off some of her favorite spots. We were so happy we stopped there!
Cool gift shop for people with an interest in the occult arts. Get something for the vampire in your life!
