Good place to chill, to have coffee and/or a meal. And if you need it...drop off or get your bike repaired at the same time. Good food, good coffee and friendly staff. I especially appreciate the staff being friendly and accommodating to seniors and disabled persons.
Pop up marketplace show that featured over 100 vendors with dynamic goods for sell. Great networking opportunity for my fam and the new businesses we are launching. Bathrooms needed a little love, outdoor are was small like alley and dirty from the pigeon and rat poop.
The jackfruit BBQ sandwich was pretty great and I liked the atmosphere here!
These guys are AWESOME! Seriously the friendliest and most helpful bike shop Ive ever been to. TLDR; the folks who run the shop are extremely friendly and helpful (and NOT pretentious at all), and the folks who run the cafe are also extremely friendly! Great vibes all around. Now for the long version...I brought my gravel bike in for a tune up a few weeks ago to get ready for some races coming up. They were very helpful with getting race ready. Then I crashed my bike on a trail, and they were really great helping me post-crash. More details...1. They take time for you! Tasha, who runs the bike shop, took one look at my stock saddle and was like, Hows that saddle working for ya? Long story short, the girl took the time to get me hooked up with proper gear to get race ready.2. They are extremely thoughtful! I crashed my bike on the trails and gave the shop a call the next day. Explained that my left shifter was shot, so I had to get that fixed. They took time to see how I was doing, and also pointed out that my carbon fork could be wrecked, so I should bring it in for a crash check (which I did).3. They are EXTREMELY helpful. My left shifter was out of stock basically everywhere and backordered til September. David, the mechanic, took the time to call around Oakland and found the last remaining part at a shop nearby. He put the part on hold for me, and now my bike is fixed way faster than it should have been!4. They are super fast! When I crashed my bike, it sounded like they were pretty busy, so it was going to be about 4 days for my repair. Well, 1 day later I got a call saying my bike was ready to be picked up! SPEEDY!5. You can get coffee, beer, lunch, etc...great place to hang out and meet new people.I LOVE THIS SHOP.
Good experience with this mechanic. He explained that this other shop Id gone to for a brake service had given me new pads without also advising that my rotors were shot. The old rotors promptly destroyed the new pads.
Super friendly staff. Yummy food, including hella vegan options. My friend asked me to add excellent double chocolate banana muffin.
Out of the three vegan options, we ate the gravedigger (a vegan chili hot dog) and Jackie (a focaccia sandwich with jackfruit as its main ingredient. The gravedigger has a solid taste. Nothing really stood out about it, but it it does well as a vegan version of an actual chili dog.The Jackie had a unique taste with a bit of a spicy kick. The flavor definitely bends toward savory/sweet...it could using something a little cool and mellow to help balance out the strong flavors.Overall, a cool spot to check out in downtown Oakland. Very open and spacious interior with a laid-back vibe.Only thing is parking is street parking and can be difficult to find.
So happy this place is back open. So many great pre rona memories with my coworker and I. We loved this spot for our early lunches. Yummy menu of Delicious bagel sandwiches and drinks. Love their chai and matchas. Really can’t go wrong w anything. Always great customer service too. Hope to be back here soon.
Hipster coffee shop with a bike shop operation. Good vibes. Good coffee. Good people. I dig it.
Quick, knowledgeable service in the bike shop and an excellent espresso. Whats not to like?
Luckyduck is an awesome Oakland cafe/bike shop with some tasty sandwiches. I have not had my bike serviced here, but I do eat lunch here all the time.
Great vibes and awesome staff. Had the vegan Rachel sandwich and it was 👌👌
Tiger bike says, Luck duck, crowded as *uck! But still fun. Youve been blessed by the bike gods if there is a seat with an outlet available. People are wedged into every configuration, hours at a time. Awesome if u can get it.Nice local beer selection, 6x taps; happy hour $1 off draft, 4-6 pm$3 coffee, (includes refill)Breakfast, lunch, pastries and hey, a bike shop!
Delicious and a lovely staff!
Knowledgeable staff and fair prices. Cant seem to shake the feeling that the main mechanic finds me annoying.
Walking around aimlessly during my jury duty lunch break and ran into this cafe. I’ve been here twice since and love the sandwiches/ambiance. Would recommend if you have some work to knock out or are looking for a quick bite.
They stole my idea!!-- Just joking, a Wonderful Cafe/Bike Shop. This place is super awesome and super rad. I think they favor steel but they wont kick you out if you have a carbon bike.
Beautiful bikes for sale
Coolest spot in Oakland. Great food and vegan options. Try the jackfruit 💞. All of the staff are awesome individuals who seem like instant long time friends. You can stay and play boardgames while you sip your coffee, tea, or juice, or wait for your bike repair. The owner is a multifaceted human with amazing intriguing stories if you ask. Pop in. Youll be glad you did. Parking is along the street. Free after rush our.
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME. I’ve been here twice. Solid vegan options, great service, and super helpful, friendly bike-shop staff. The bikes here are really pretty too!
I came in here the other day with my dog to do a bit of work and get some coffee and food. They were all out of bread except for hot dog buns, so I went with the vegan chili dog (despite not being vegan). I was thoroughly impressed: while it was too loaded to pick up and eat, it was delicious! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the fact that there is also a bike shop just really takes the cake. Love having this close by!
Doug who works at the bike shop is ace!He replaced both of my electric scooter tires in 40 minutes for $30/tire only. No other bike shop in SF would do it. Worth the trip out.
Great coffee shop with very good lattes! The staff was friendly and the service was fast. The atmosphere is very down to earth and has a work hard kind of vibe with out being off putting. The bike shop has a large selection of accessories, parts, and tools. I did not try the beer and Im not from this region so I will not comment on the quality of beers served.
The Jack sandwich keeps me coming back. Good coffee and pastries too. Community friendly vibe.
Finest place to get some food when in a rush. The service is rapid, rates are fair, great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place
One of my favorite cafes in oakland. Delicious eats, fantastic coffee, great beer selection. Free wifi too. Love this place
I absolutely love LOVE this cafe. its definitely one of the hidden gems in Oakland- the atmosphere was so nice and cozy! I can honestly work for hours at this cafe. I gotta say though that I had a hard time locating this place at first because of its exterior design but the interior is so beautiful.
Great coffee. Fantastic food (lots of tasty vegan options). Good beer selection. Chill atmosphere, with wifi and lots of outlets for getting your work done. Bike hooks inside for keeping your wheels safe while you chill. And best of all, an amazing/knowledgeable/super-friendly bike mechanic and well-stocked bike shop in the back.
I stopped by here for lunch while on jury duty. Great place! Really nice people and the Action Boy sandwich was awesome. Relaxing atmosphere and the beer selection looks good. I believe they had 6 beers on tap and a handful of options in cans.
My favorite neighborhood cafe by far! The staff is super friendly and its a great environment to work in. Food and drinks are lovely as well.
The food and service and coffee is always spot on, as well as the bike shop. I’m glad to have a spot like this near downtown and my home:)
Simply the best. Great spot to work and they have Red Bay coffee, which is the best in the bay.
The bike shop staff are friendly and generous (let me borrow tools to install a part i bought), and the selection of tea and vegetarian/vegan food is really good! there isnt a lot of traffic and the space is large enough for you to hang out where theres lots of natural light or farther away where its nice and shady. also they play bangers only on the stereoALSO theres events, like weekly yoga on tuesday, and community bike rides they organize. cant praise this place enough!
Good food/coffee/drinks and a really good place to get work done on your bike. Great rates and quick service!
Get the carnitas if they are the special. Yummy! Great coffee. Iffy Chai.
Friendly service, helpful and knowledgeable about what they are serving, be it food or drink. Incredible baked goods and delicious coffee and espresso. Who could ask for more?
Great food (lots of vegan options), great coffee, great beer! Best bike-repair experience Ive ever had, so convenient being able to get a bite to eat and a beer while you wait. This place is brand new and already doing a great job!
Lucky duck has a great combination of community, awesome sandwiches, and bikecycles! Personal fave is the Gravedigger vegan chili dawg with a pint of ghost town.
Very chill atmosphere. I went there on a Saturday afternoon and it was mostly empty. My friend and I got their cold brew which was actually really good! If I needed a place to get work done, this one would be one of my go-to spots
Mmm lucky duck I like you. Ive been here to study with a friend, to just chill with a friend, to get caffeinated with yummy food with a friend. The atmosphere is friendly and the drinks and eats are great.
Very cute bicycle cafe with good sandwiches, soups, salads. My favorite is the chili.
Their Victors carnitas sandwich is delicious. Also, their mochas are my life juice. Because its the only thing thats going to give life.
Heard about this place from some friends. Wasnt sure what to expect. Supper creative menu and a totally laid back! My cousin is flying in from NYC in the morning, cant wait to take her there!
Its a really nice cafe, really like that you can get your bike repaired in the cafe. You can get things for your bike. Also I really like the cookies.
Great coffee and they have Wi-Fi! They also know an incredible number of things about bikes!!
I went to Lucky Duck in the evening when they were hosting a show -- (which was incredible). The vibe was very friendly and relaxed, and the tacos (with vegan and gf options) were tasty.
A wonderful little cafe and bike shop with a laid back vibe, friendly staff and tasty food and beverage.
Luckyduck hosted a friends bday party and the two owners were super gracious. Great food. Great drinks: im a beer guy and love the Lost Point, but others were totally into the other drinks. Inviting friendly vibe. Cool space and I hope people hang here more. Its more than a bike shop.
First time here! Awesome vegan choices, and table games while you wait. Coffee is rich, but not multiple choices, house only. Overall great service and quality, Ill return.
Any cafe that makes room for customers to bring in their bicycle gets plus points with me. Its a pleasant, diverse, mellow and creative space. Just hipster enough to feel cool, still on the other side of regentrification yuckyness. I didnt try the food, but it looked yummy. Too bad there were no gluten free options besides granola. Just stayed for a cup of tea and enjoyed the ambience.
Great spot. Beer ... cider ... good sandwiches.
Amazing Vegan (and not so) food items. I definitely recommend the Messy Vegan!! I am sometimes tempted to drive the 80 mile round just for another!!
Food, coffee and bicycle stuff all tastefully selected. Friendly vibe to boot.
Great vibes, strong wifi, perfect coffee, tasty food, and wine and beer to treat yourself!
My favorite place to come for lunch during my work break. The atmosphere is very inviting and relaxed, the space is bright and airy, and the entire staff make you feel like a friend through their down to earth attitudes. (Music is always on point as well.) All of the sandwiches are DELICIOUS. I recommend the Tom Tom or the Jammer.I havent purchased anything from the bike shop but I have pestered them for recommendations about how best to buy/build a bike and they are always incredibly patient while sharing their information knowledge.P. S. The cafe also supports local artists by selling the artists pins and patches at the counter, so buy one or two on your way out!
Good food, coffee, and service kind staff
Great food, service and bike shop. I come for the good calm vibe here, the great food, and even had some repairs done to my bike.
A great spot to relax and grab a coffee, sandwich, or snack. The staff is always chipper and kind. Bring a friend or two or go alone and read up on your fav book or the latest article.
Good coffee, food, and atmosphere. Great place to hang out and get some work done
Great spot for a coffee and a quick bite. Careful parking nearby, night herons live in the trees and will poop all over your car.
Great sandwiches and not huge but great beer list. All the breads they use for the sandos are amazing.
Great food and excellent, swift bike repair. Wish I lived closer so I could hang out here as my default coffee/lunch spot. Oh well, Ill just visit when I can.
Delicious sandwiches, coffee AND beer, bikes, friendly staff, and fun bike outings! What more could you want? I guess faster wi-fi, but you cant have everything? Love this spot.
The Duck is where local heroes and bicycle enthusiasts coalesce to make dreams a reality. Rad food, people, and setting. Jimmy, Aaron, and Rose are one of a kind.
Cant say enough good things about the drinks, food, staff, and bike shop. Tip top.
Beautifully crafted and art-full space. Possibly my favorite cafe in all of Oakland. I visit almost weekly to get work/reading done. Food, beer, vibes...Tens all around!
Great food great coffee NICE staff. Premium spot.
Sandwiches are absolutely delicious. Friendly service. Great for lunching downtown.
Cool vibe, love their bikes for sale and other cool merch. Food is fresh and delicious!
Bikes and coffee together. What more can you want? Very nice coffee house with great sandwiches.
Coffee and comfort in a wide space selling higher tier bikes. Very few tables but this cafe isn’t overly crowded.
Good menu, great coffee, cool bike shop, good amount of space for a cafe in downtown oakland. Its not crazy overcrowded but can def get packed out during lunch rushes.I dont totally understand why i love this place more than other cafes right now but i do. Maybe because it hasnt reached the uncontrallable foot traffic level yet and offers the perks it does
This place is really welcoming and not pretentious. I cant wait for their classes to start!
The atmosphere of this place is pretty hip. Feels like cafe you come to for a small bagel breakfast while you read the paper.
Indoor bike parking, coffee/tea before, and beer & sandwiches after the ride is all a cyclist needs :) A great place to start and finish a long weekend ride.
Super nice bike stuff and good coffee and cool events, 10/10 would recommend
Great bike shop. Great coffee shop. Great tunes too.
Cool cafe and shop, crazy overpriced cycle gear!
Cool place, friendly staff. Lots of bikes, clean huge restrooms.
Their friendly service, food and coffee far exceeded my expectations. The ambiance is spot on, with beautiful artwork and bike decor. Weather you are a cyclist or not, this place is worth a visit . If you are a cyclist I highly recommend the Saturday shop ride lead by Doug.
The jackfruit sandwich is really good and no joke! Coffee is fab. And theres an Eddy Mercx jersey.
Food was delicious and place was outstanding.!
Very cool concept along with great food and coffee!
Chill. Best chai Ive ever had. Love the ska.
Great food although highly priced. Wish it had separate booths for customers.
Awesome bikes, knowledgeable staff/owners, very friendly and understanding to a new rider. Plus the food, coffee, and beer is great!
Very cool place - hard to find a seat sometimes
The WiFi is a little slow, but the coffee and food are both great. A nice place to hunker down and do some work.
Its what I remembered a coffee house was like. A clean place to sit, have coffee, write in my journal, even strike up a conversation with a sane person. You wouldnt bleev how rare of an occurance that has been for me (;
Jimmy and Ryan are some cool cats! LuckyDuck is half bike shop, half bar and full cafe! Whether youre wanting a pastry with your coffee or maybe a vegan soysage with your locally brewed cider (yes they have it all). The mechanic running the bike shop is well trained and ready to work. Regardless if youre a seasoned rider, weekend warrior or possibly this is your first bike shop visit; as I mentioned above: they have it all! Great place to meet up with a few friends; hell invite all the homies as LDBC can accommodate a crowd! Dont bother locking your bike up because there is bicycle parking inside + it will give you an opportunity to test fit some bicycle baggage, which they have a full selection of. Tell em Road Runner sentcha and expect a high five from the LDBC crew!Ive been working with LuckyDuck in a B2B relationship since the end of 2016 and I could not be happier with their attention to detail in regards to the products and brands they stock, their attentiveness to the customers needs and their ability to maintain a cool and hip coffee joint right in the middle of Oaklands Chinatown!Cheers LuckyDuck and I hope to swing through soon enough!
