Great service. Walked in they helped compare the color of my landscape rocks. Friendly customer service. Driver delivered early and did a great job dropping 15 tons of gravel on my street. Made it compact and clean. I would recommend this company.

Terrible experience, very poor office staff and manager. Displays in front of building from which people choose their rock does not at all match what gets delivered. Staff make absolutely no effort to correct this and blame the customer. Avoid this business at all costs there are much better options out there.

We have purchased over 40 tons of rock from MDI for our landscaping project all with different drivers. This last load of 10 tons, our driver was Bruce. I gotta say, not only is he an amazing driver, very skilled with maneuvering the big truck, he was very kind and willing. I really want to thank Bruce for his amazing skill and willingness to help by placing the rock where I needed it. I hope this message reaches him in some fashion and he is rewarded for his work.

I will never use this company again. Horrible costumer service, & GM is very rude!! Im still trying to figure out my problem, after this company delivered the wrong material..

It was very easy to pull our truck in, weigh it, get the materials we wanted, reweigh the truck, and go in and pay. The loaders were fast to follow us with their front end loaders. On my first visit I went in with a lot of questions and was given clear pricing and samples to take home and match my landscape rock. I checked a few other local companies and pricing at MDI was comprable or lower.

Beautiful and organized business. Needed a little extra rock for my landscaping, they have signs out front to match & select the rock. The employee was very helpful to make sure I chose the correct rock for my current landscaping needs. Definitely recommend MDI Rock for a small or large project.

Great landscape company. If you havent hired a supplier realize these 1 star reviews on here seem to be cases of customers not doing their due diligence. The truck driver showed up with the quantity of top soil I ordered along with the paperwork to show the amount in the truck and the price. I then reviewed the paperwork and the product and everything was correct. Then he helped me find a great place to unload it on my property. Also they where great at contacting me for any concerns and rescheduling due to rain so I wouldnt have a muddy mess. Also their top soil blend is perfect. My sod should take to it well.

I ordered 7 tons 1” per request from my seasoned landscaper who would distribute the rock. MDI delivered. I received 1” to 3” pieces in which my landscaper knew immediately was wrong and would not be enough to finish my yard.I called and Heather at MDI, she had me email her pic’s of my original 1” rock vs the order delivered. She THEN asked for a 2nd set of photo’s with a measuring tape in the frame. comparing my 1” existing rock and MDI’s 1-3” rock that they sell as 1”!Heather stated “that is our 1”, it’s usually 1”-3”. WELL... Maybe someone could have told me when I ordered so that I could plan accordingly???Hearher offered no remedy other than a 4 day later delivery. I would also be charged full price. Kicker is, I’d ALSO have to pay my landscaper to come back to finish a job he would have finished had the rock been properly ordered.No problem for MDI... my problem. Horrible customer communication and service! I never received a receipt either!!MDI put me in a bad position without one ounce of remorse!Heather had no empathy for my situation and was incorrect in her statement that each ton covers the same square feet. NOOOO, bigger rock is heavier, doesn’t spread or cover as much ground.Crapshoot if you deal with this company!

Check the math on your receipts. I was over charged on 2 separate orders. Lots of dirt in the rock. I was not told that the rocks were not screened or that they were screened for that matter. I was told that the driver would leave a copy of the invoice/receipt when the rock was delivered. That didn’t happen. Instead he dumped the rock in front of my trash can and took off. The trash people could not pick up my trash because it that.The second order... I was over charged on my invoice. The driver must have been different than the first delivery driver because he was a nice guy. He called me because my address was missing 2 numbers. He would have never found my house. This driver did leave a copy of my receipt.I only went with this company because the other company could not deliver for 3 1/2 weeks. I would not recommend this place.

Ive bought quite a bit from MDI in the last 6 months..Easy to work with and this week we had Scott delivery a number of boulders to my residence..He was soooo helpful!!!! Great communication for delivery, on time and great service..thanks ladies at MDI and thanks Scott!!!!

The Uhaul side of their business is absolute trash. No one there seems to know how to work the computer system, properly inventory and document the trucks, and worst of all, will improperly hook up the autobed trailers. Largely ignored mandatory state face covering requirements in closed spaces to top off their general incompetence. Complaints to corporate are ignored, as if they dont care about customers health or safety. Do not allow Uhaul to move your reservation to this location, it is out of the way and not worth the hassle.

The negative reviews leave me scratching my head! I have been a residential customer of MDI for over 15 years and have never been treated poorly by anyone. In fact, Ive found the front desk personnel courteous and helpful. The delivery drivers have always been professional and timely.With most interpersonal communication and business affairs, Ive found if you initially approach people with courtesy and respect, it will be returned.

I went to MDI to buy some flagstone pieces for my front walk. We asked what we needed to do and the woman in the front office gave me some directions that I didn’t quite understand. I questioned her more and she said to go outside and someone would come out to help me. I spent awhile looking and was ready to select some and pay. I went back insured and she didn’t seem at all interested in helping me. Finally another woman said she would call someone to help me.We went back out and waited and waited. Finally, a man drove over. When I explained what I was looking for, he didn’t seem to understand. I don’t think he spoke English, which is ok, but he didn’t try to use sign language or show me what they had. I was using my hands but not getting anywhereHe finally said they didn’t have anything for me.I would have liked more help to really understand what I wanted.

Their website clearly shows the pea gravel as being brown. In fact the second picture is even a darker brown. When the pea gravel was dropped off it was wet and was also brown. Now that it has dried it is as gray as new concrete.I have zero use for the $770+ of pea gravel but I can bring it back and “dump it” for $15? For all of the money I have spent at this place over the years I can’t believe they’re sticking me with something it didn’t want based on THEIR photos on THEIRwebsite. I wanted brown. Their 2 pictures show brown. But I get gray.They need to update their website photos immediately so no one else falls victim to this bait and switch. Heck, they could put a note on the website that the pea gravel appears brown in the photos but is actually concrete gray when it dries.And the cherry on top? They said they can’t take it back because they don’t know what chemicals it has been exposed to. I live in the middle of nowhere. I don’t live near 101 so I’m sure the pea gravel sitting outside at their facility is exposed to more chemicals than it is at my place in the foothills of Rio Verde. That’s just ridiculous. I even offered to load it back into their truck.Where has customer service gone? It has clearly died here.

Disappointed by the lack of knowledge by the lady working the front desk, she couldn’t tell me how much a cubic yard of screen top soil weighed, she didn’t offer to find out for me either, first time here and I had to guess the amount. I ended up overloading my truck by 300 lbs of payload, I wish they would’ve talked to me about load limits to ensure I drove safe and wasn’t overloaded. I was also waiting by Bay 7 for 10 minutes I had to call the office for them to load my truck up. Guess she forgot to call a loader. I would have been better off shoveling it myself to ensure a proper load. It’s partly my fault for not knowing general weights before I went however I would have thought they would ensure their customers are informed.

We use MDI rock in the West and East Valley. Both locations are great! If you are looking for fast delivery times, great customer service and quality products, MDI is your place.

The absolute worst! I am shocked they have managed to remain in business. This may be the most poorly run business I have yet run into. They have a beautiful building and nice displays but that is where it ends.Staff is a nightmare from the front desk, to the driver, up to the owner. My entire experience was a complete nightmare. It started with an indifferent / rude sales staff, moved on to the driver calling me at home at 6:00 a.m. and literally yelling at me saying he wasnt going to do my job because I had the temerity to call in the middle of the day and ask (after 3 weeks of waiting) where things were with my job (he never returned my calls until the 6:00 am call). After that experience, I tried several tries to reach the owner and was finally able to talk with him and was met with non-sensical excuses and complete indifference about me or my potential 10K of business. Completely inappropriate behavior for any business.I have since found at least two other reputable and professional companies to do my job. I would not tell anyone I know to use MDI Rock and all I can say is BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Called MDI Rock and same day they were able to get me a price and also schedule for delivery within the next couple of days. Called other companies and they were booked out for over 2wks and were rude and dismissive. The lady(forgot her name) who schedules the trucks was on top of it. I will only use this company going forward. Thank you for taking care of us, we surely appreciate it.

I came to this business having no idea what I wanted to do with my front landscaping. Joe helped me look at a variety of options for paving, gravel, soil, and boulders to help transform my yard to make it more attractive. He was very patient and gave me the pros and cons of various choices. I never felt rushed or condescended to by him. The gravel selections and boulders are truly amazing. If I were only rating Joe and the products, this would easily be 5 stars. However . . . At one point I went back over to the site and Joe was in the lot so I attempted to get some information from the man sitting at the desk. He barely looked up and quoted me the wrong figure on some pavers since he didnt bother to listen to what I was asking. This gentleman needs to learn better customer service. Perhaps he could take some lessons from Joe! I do recommend this business and their quality products wholeheartedly.

Great place, they came today on Saturday and the truck driver did a great job.We have a Long curving driveway and he drove backwards and poured the rock just how I asked him to.I will use them again

I submitted a pricing inquiry through their website around Thanksgiving and never got a response. I submitted it again around January 20th and didnt get a response. Bought my 9 tons of rock elsewhere.

Horrible, horrible, horrible office & dispatching skills. 1st time was on schedule for 2nd drop of morning, I hired workers and waited till 1:30pm until truck showed up no call no nothing. 2 weeks later, another delivery issue... Mind you Im only 3 miles from there facility on Rose Garden. I would find another Rock place if you dont want to be frustrated with delivery issues. Come on your delivering Rocks its not freaking Rocket Science get your act together in your office!!!

Order 13 tons of gravel to be delivered Saturday. Mdi called Saturday to say they didnt have enough gravel and would have to reschedule delivery. I was told manager would call Monday ended up calling them. Stuff happens but they really dont seem to care about customer service plus I am out the money for a bobcat rental on top of it. Call AZ rock express in Apache junction way cheaper on gravel the delivery charges and actually seem want our business.

This place was horrible, customer service doesn’t exist here. The company delivered the wrong rock & expected me to pay to take it back, the manager wouldn’t trade the rock I had already purchased for the right one on top of everything else they charged me way more then they said it would cost had to use the rock that I purchase for my own home & rebought the right rock some where else, unlike this company my company runs on making my customers happy. Take my advice and get whatever you need somewhere other than here.

Initially had an issue and they have gone above and beyond to resolve the error. Things happen but what is important to me is how it is dealt with! I couldnt be more impressed with the final results. Great place to get rock/stone, soil, mulch etc. Large inventory, many product options, and low prices. They deliver, but I pick up med-small quantities for my home and garden.

If you are looking to work there...dont! Trucks are Old and constantly break down. Plus they do NOT pay what they say they will pay you!

The experience was okay, but the delivery truck left a few gouges in my driveway from when the bed of the truck dragged down the driveway. There was no warning that this was an possibility, so were pretty disappointed.
