A hidden gem on SE Belmont. Cosy, eccentric, antique decor with interesting nooks here and there. Delightful drinks and donuts that’re crunchy on the outside, pillowy on the inside. I’ll be back!

Best buttermilk donuts Ive had in my entire life! I generally dont like buttermilk donuts either. Every time I have gotten one they are fresh. The outside is nice and crisp while the inside is soft and delicious. The coffee is good too!

Coffee is a little pricey but great atmosphere. If youre planning to hunker down and get some work done, this spot is worth the splurge. Books line the walls and welcome you to read or get lost in studies. I cant wait to try their lunch menu, I caught a glimpse of one of their sandwiches and my mouth wont stop watering... Clearly others agree because the local food delivery car has stopped in multiple times during my visit. Easy does it at Rocking Frog!

Really love the vibe here and feel like we stumbled upon a gem. Missed the doughnuts unfortunately (not sure if we were just too late in the day or if Covid has interrupted production) but had a tasty egg sandwich & coffee. Will definitely be back for one of those doughnuts before leaving town!

Few things in this world are as good as a fresh warm donut. They offer a decent selection of glaze options - my favorites are chocolate, maple, and vanilla. Even if you dont eat them right away, theyre still super good hours later.Coffee:Solid! I like drip coffee, plain, black. Its as good as any Portland coffee shop who cares about the beans as much as the brew. Their website says it all - Serving Portland’s Sterling Coffee Roasters and Jasmine Pearl Tea Co., we believe in preparing excellent coffee and tea that is refined for the connoisseur, yet accessible to the casual drinker. I couldnt agree more. I cant speak to the espresso.Service:Amazing! Every time Ive gone Ive only seen one guy running everything and hes awesome. Fast, genuinely friendly, and it shows that he cares.Seating:Tons of outdoor seating with lots of space (6ft or more) between tables.Covid-19 Safety:They are taking all of the necessary safety precautions during this pandemic. One door for entry, a different door for exit, clear signs to keep people moving and not waiting in close proximity.I live in Woodstock and Ill drive the 15 minutes one-way to come here. Favorite coffee shop in my neighborhood! Owner is a super cool guy, staff is super chill & they have one of the oldest espresso machines in Portland. Tons of milk alternatives also. Blessed they have been open during these stressful times so that way I can continue to have some kind of normalcy lol

The drinks are good and a nice place but both times I have tried to get coffee before 8 am the place has been closed. Either hours are off or they were not open on time.-Thanks for the response, it was the weekend. The google hours stated 7am everyday which caused the confusion.

The best coffee shop to go and chill and read or work. Cozy as is possible. Great atmosphere. Positively chill staff.Good food, and amazing drinks.It feels like a bookshop, or some bohemian hipsters grandparents house. Which I mean in the best way possible.

BEST DONUTS EVER!! Straight from the fryer, the donuts are crisp when you bite into them, but melt in your mouth as you chew. Easy to get carried away hammering down donut after donut, but no regrets. Its pretty cozy I side and there is a nice area behind the shop outside. I strongly recommend anyone looking to get their donut fix to go here

Neat little place. The apple cider was delicious. Atmosphere was calm and sherlockesque. I felt smarter just walking around in there. Im still stupid, but my body and soul are warmed from the cider, so thats a win Im my book.

Love this place, its cozy, its beautiful, its quaint, its all the magical things you expect of a coffee shop. The coffee and other drinks are amazing. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. The warm carrot muffin is to die for, and if you are lucky, you can just-baked cookies on the counter when you come in!

Rocking Frog is one of the coziest coffee shops I’ve been to in Portland. It really feels like hanging out in somebody’s grandma’s house when you’re there - like, in a good way.Really awesome drink menu, with lots of options. Came here the other day with a friend and wasn’t in the mood for coffee, so we ordered lemonade and it totally hit the spot! Their donuts are made to order, and the fresh maple glazed one we had was probably one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten.If you need a chill place to study or read or draw or just think while simultaneously eating super awesome fresh donuts, this is where you need to be.

Its like being home, only better. The coffee concoctions are fabulous, the treats are top notch and the staff is welcoming. Its just a lovely place to be.

Morgan shared a poem onstage about ME. It was a comedy/ Tragedy showdown. I met her at an open Mic a few days prior. She was selling tickets to the show. If you bought one, she said she would create a poem about the person or persons that bought a ticket. I bought a ticket. She wasnt sure how to do the poem since she didnt know me. I suggested that I could give her a selection of some song lyrics Ive written. She agreed. She gave a snapshot of me to the audience, basically rephrasing and combining some of my songs words in (as I would say a lilting stacatto).

The old house provides a nice comfortable atmosphere while you wait. And wait. And wait. Two donuts and two drinks took about 45 minutes to come out. Today marked our third visit in the past month, and the other two visits were about the same in terms of the wait. Their lattes and other drinks are great. The cake donuts are good too if a touch greasy.

This place is awesome. Easily the best and most comfortable coffee house/shop I’ve ever been in. The music is great, the atmosphere is wonderful. Oh and the coffee, food, and pastries are all top notch. They also have a great patio it’s a nice place to get some coffee and and a nom and sit for an hour chilling with a book.

Felt right at home in this cozy little spot. Seems to be a good place to work or study, almost every seat was taken (but having been a student I know the value of a good study spot). Got a great coffee and a hot donut and it was delicious and warm on a chilly day.

This cafe has become my go to work spot! Delicious drinks and food at a decent price. Good choices of spots to work as well as a good amount of outlets. Friendly service as well which helps is comfy homey feel.

The fresh donuts are amazing, the espresso drinks are pretty good. Service can be slow and spotty but good-natured. The atmosphere, an old home with comfy furniture, fireplace and walls of books is fun.

Live down the street and this is my go to place for coffee and getting some work done. Great coffee... I dont know what they do to their eggs on their egg sandwiches, but they are amazing. Music selection is reliably good, so I dont have to bring headphones if Im doing work. My only complaint, as a few others have mentioned, is that the fryer smell is so strong it remains on my clothes and hair after I leave, so plan accordingly.

Looking for somewhere to read? A place to chat? Fresh donuts? Good coffee? Youll find everything here. Smooth jazz plays in the background, chairs near a roaring fireplace of you get there early enough, and the donuts are made right after you order them. Great atmosphere and food!

If you are looking for a coffee shop to spend some time in, then you should swing by this one. Very comfy. Yeah, if you cant find a properly comfy place, then this is a winner. And dont forget to hang out on the patio in the warmer months. :)

Im from LA. This is finally the spot when I can say I have landed in Portland. Such an interesting house, and the houses across the street are also iconic. This place contains lots of books and tables in different rooms. Ive never experienced a coffee house like it!

This three-room cafe feels unmistakably Portland without being painfully hip. It is open all day, offering breakfast and lunch in a cozy coffee shop setting. Plenty of healthy and delicious vegan/vegetarian options, all reasonably priced and made fresh. Staff is friendly, background music is non-obtrusive, and the patrons speak in hushed voices. Free, secured WiFi.

Rocking frog has that cozy atmosphere of coffee shops from the early to mid 90s--before the sterile mcyuppie thing took over. The coffees good, the foods good--its damn near the only public place I feel comfortable.

Nice and quaint little cafe that is warm and inviting. The staff is like family, the selection of teas and coffees is great, and theres a fireplace. Its quiet, so not the best for groups, but there is a table for four in the back.

The cozy atmosphere makes it a great place to have a good cup of coffee. All the people that work here are really nice and their food is really good too. I definitely recommend the Bradbury sandwich.

The cookies were the best part. The drinks were ok and the seating was pretty crowded. Dont plan on meeting up with more than one or two people. I felt a little dirty sitting in one of the big armchairs in the front. Overall, it wasnt a bad experience but Ive had better.

Rustic, cozy craftsman house. Warm soft lighting creates a homey vibe. Ristretto beans for espresso made for a delicious americano. Adequate seating indoors and outdoor tables allow the smokers a break. Questionable background music (folk instrumental mixed with talking); at least it wasnt too loud.

Hot outside doesn’t do me too well but unbelievably delicious ice coffee @rockingfrogpdx does a body good. Oh and do yourself a favor and get a made to order Maple donut! Y, you ask, cuz you deserve it!

This is really actually just a coffee shop, that will serve some sandwiches. Dont go expecting to have a sit-down breakfast or lunch, unless youre by yourself. Seating is very limited. I was hoping to have brunch there on Sunday, but all three tables that could accommodate three people had a headphoned, laptopped single occupant.

One of the best mochas in town and believe you me because I’ve been everywhere because I love mochas so much. Great breakfast sammiches, amazing donuts fresh-made who does that wuuuuh?. The interior is wood and creaky, as it should be in my opinion!!! Eat your thing outside? well you bet, here’s a backyard for you!

Nice place to chill, catch up with friends and drink some coffee. Food does take a little while, but it is always very good. The doughnuts are ridiculously amazing.

We came for Donuts but their machine was broke... I realize thats not their fault. We also ordered a Mexican mocha, Carmel steamer, house Chai and a Salinger sandwich. All of which were really good, I would really like to try their donuts

Service can be hit or miss but there are some very solid sandwiches on the menu. I wouldnt necessarily drive here from across town but its a great neighborhood spot. Also, the donuts are great and might be worth driving for if youre a donut fan. The only serious issue is that the cold brew coffee is too weak.
