Love this place already great service wonderful ice cream

DeLuca Gelato is always made on the premises, so you know its fresh. The array of flavors in Gelato & sorbets is amazing. Available in waffle cones or paper cups. My favorite flavors are salted caramel, coconut, amaretto, chocolate, pistachio....... you cant go wrong with any flavor. You can also purchase DeLuca Gelato prepacked at Libbie Market.

Rude and unprofessional. As other reviewers have mentioned, 30+ flavors is a lot. You would think the front desk employee would have been more friendly and patience. I even gave them a tip when I ordered first.Once I purchased my scoop, my husband had an even worse experience. He walked in and was ignored. After waiting for some time, he had asked if he could try and flavor while another couple seemed undecided and the employee said: “No, get back in line”. My husband went outside and said to me: “Let’s leave, I don’t think I’m welcomed here and I should have been treated better”.To be honest, I brushed it off because I had the same experience when I walked at first. I should have said something.If you open a business, treat your customers right and acknowledge them. Or hire the right employees who will guide your customers and be patient. If you decide to have over 30 flavors then you need to expect your customers to have questions. At the end of the day, we the community decide whether your business succeeds!

The options here are so delightfully diverse. From your common creamery option to an array of dairy free options. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will be bringing my family here for our ice cream dates now.

This place is so delicious- I am dairy and gluten free and they have at least 20 options of delicious sorbete in addition to their gelatos- they are so good! Very allergy friendly

I took a trip to Italy in 2019 and ate the most divine gelato every single day I was there. Ever since, I’ve been on the hunt for great gelato and I’ve finally found it! The sampler plate with 7 types is my favorite to share with my son. The gelato in Rome was still the best ever, but this place is darn close!

Delicious gelato! There were so many flavor choices and all of them looked very good. The color of the chocolate gelato was so deep and dark. Too often they are not chocolatey enough but that is certainly not the case at DeLuca Gelato.

Got a pistachio/dark chocolate milkshake and it was so good. The employee behind the counter was patient with me and my friend trying to pick what we wanted because we were so indecisive. Glad I found this place!

There are a lot of local ice cream and gelato places to choose from, but DeLuca is the very best. For quality, number of flavors (so many, all amazing!), and both dairy and nondairy options. If you havent been here yet, you need to go! Their gelato and sorbetto has less sugar and fat than ice cream, but you would not know that from tasting it. They also have espresso and afogado (espresso w gelato).

I had a wonderful experience getting some sugar free ice cream and coffee. Starbucks was closed so I popped in here and the woman working was very friendly and kind! I’m glad I gave my business to a local spot!

This is by FAR the BEST ice cream this side of the Mississippi River! It is made fresh every day with all natural ingredients. There is something for everyone of any age, you wont be disappointed! This is a large triple with one scoop each of Espresso, Salted Caramel, and Hazelnut. Simply divine!

The gelato was wonderful, very creamy and decadent and elegant-tasting (if that makes any sense) and all the flavors I tried were delicious. I eventually decided on a small, with Peach Brandy and Amaretto (at the suggestion of someone who works there - possibly the owner), and it was a lovely pairing.The reason for my 4-Star review, when the gelato deserves 5, is the atmosphere. The man who was making gelato in the back came out to help the single employee at the front, and we said it was our first time there. With 50 flavors, that’s a lot of choice. And yet he seemed annoyed that we asked to sample things and my companion eventually just ordered a flavor he wasn’t sure he wanted because he felt rushed and unwelcome.We’ll try it again because the gelato is outstanding, and I hope I will come back to edit my review/rating.

Deluca Gelato is a favorite treat in our family. It offers great seasonal varieties of both ice cream and dairy-free sorbet. While the menu may seem overwhelming, tastes are given to ensure that you are happy with your selection although I also think its a way to expand everyones pallet. We have also had one of their cakes for a celebration and it was great - fully customizable. Everyone really should visit this gelato shop!

This is the best! This will definitely be a stop next time Im in the area. Highly recommend! They have several flavors of non-dairy sorbet, where as other stores might have 2 non-dairy. The Carmel sorbet was excellent, will have to try the cantaloupe next time.

Our family favorite gelato shop. We have tried all flavors almost, every size and other treats too. Have compared to similar shops in NYC Little Italy and this ranks great. Family run. Very welcoming. Absolutely recommend. Healthy and worthy​.

Just had DeLuca Gelato for the 1st time today and it was absolutely incredible. I am allergic to dairy and their Dark Chocolate Sorbetto is mind-blowing. Its been so long since Ive been able to have something that tastes like real ice cream and this place has nailed it. Highly recommend this place!! Will become a regular for sure.

We have gone here a few times. It is good ice cream. I didnt feel like it was anything like the gelato we had all over Italy. It is definitely nice for a stop on a hot day, but do not get your hopes too high for any gelato that tastes just like you remembered. ;)

Every bite is like a bite of icecream goodness. The staff is very kind, and they hav e a very wide selection of icecream. Its avery cute store. My favorite is theire chocolate orange flavor.

For starters, I brought a friend here today that said that Deluca has the best gelato theyve had in the states-- Id say that says something! They have an amazing variety, probably around forty or so flavors, anything from peach to nutella and sweet cream, all of which have been fantastic! As far as I know, they only have one location, but if youre ever in the area, theyre worth checking out

Wow what a wonderful place to get a delicious gelato ice cream treat. I appreciate most that the ingredients are of the highest quality and there are no extra preservatives or additives that aren’t needed. This is by far the highest quality gelato I’ve ever found.

Went in for peach gelato and they had both sorbet and gelato. The sorbet was pure peaches and is smooth and creamy. The gelato was Divine, had a little Bourbon. would go back in a heartbeat! Service prompt and efficient.

Very good gelato overall! We have tried gelato all throughout Italy and across countless places in the Northeast. Their product is very good but not the best in quality for those looking for exactly like European gelato.

The best gelato in town. I have used them for corporate events many times. Their quality is the closest you can get to authentic Italian gelato without being on the streets of Florence. Nick and his staff are always friendly, professional and prompt.

Fantastic homemade real Italian Gelato and Sorbet, made on site. Lots of selection, by far the best in RVA!

I have been going here since I was pretty young (literally more than half of my life) and if I had to estimate, Id say Ive been there at least 150 times...AT LEAST!!! There has never, ever been a time that I didnt like my gelato or that anything at all was wrong. Their establishment is always clean, the staff is always friendly, and their gelato is always amazing (they will even let you try a few!!). I have taken so many people there, and they are always amazed at how good everything is!!When I was in Italy, I ate A LOT of gelato, and I swear, NO BS, the amazing gelato I got in Italy is the same incredible gelato you will find at DeLucas.And I just noticed as I was typing the end of this that I had begun to get my shoes on because my mind subconsciously was getting ready for DeLuca!NEVER GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!! AND BECOME REGULAR CUSTOMERS...YOUR TASTE BUDS AND YOUR THIGHS (less caloric than ice cream!!!!) WILL THANK ME...YOU ARE WELCOME!

Owners of very nice. Place is very clean and of course the gelato is delicious.

If you like really good, really real gelato, come here. The emphasis is on tradtional flavors, but they still have cookies and cream for the rugrats. Their hazelnut and their strawberry are my top two. Ive been here twice in 24 hours and plan to come at least daily for the next week (Im an out-of-towner).
