Staff was friendly, courteous and professional. I didnt feel financially gouged when I left. I was alerted to some really nasty filters that needed replacing and was shown the filters. I wasnt fear mongered into replacing them; just notified. A lot of mechanics out there would do that when the customer is female. These guys did not. Im happy. My 11 year old car is running better. I am a happy camper.

Had appointment with salesman today. Drove 2 hrs there to look at the new car I inquired about. When I got there around lunch time, he said the car sold the night before. Thanks for the heads up. I informed them I was a couple hours away when we set up the appointment.Waste of time.
Berglund Mazda service has always been very accommodating to its clients. In this Covid era they even have a gazebo in their new car lot for people who dont feel comfortable sitting in an enclosed area. The staff is very professional, competent, friendly and does the maintenance in a very timely manner.

Great sales experience with a twistRecently had a great attempted sales experience at Berglund Ford / Mazda on a new Ford Fusion. Dealt with salesperson Sam E. who was very personable, knowledgeable and professional. Discussed with Sam the dealerships ability to match a local competitors pricing and perform a out-of-state sale. To my surprise and delight Berglund was able to accomplish both. Sam was in constant contact and provided all information as requested in a timely manner. A vehicle trade value was also easy to negotiate. However, FMCC (Ford Motor Credit Corp) was involved (required their financing as part of a vehicle rebate) and limited in their ability to verify and process their paperwork. Unfortunately because of FMCCs lack of flexibility I could not complete the transaction. However, in the future I will definitely return to Sam and Berglund for future vehicle purchases.

I came here a while back to do some service on my brand new Mazda3 (which was leaking water from the sealing), and Johnny provided some of the best service Id had. He was super nice and helpful and my car was completely fixed and even cleaned up for me for free. He worked with me to get me a nice loaner and made sure to get the original factory parts for me. Would certainly recommend!

I just had what was probably my best vehicle buying experience ever. I buy, sell and trade vehicles all to often and this time Matt and Tyler exceeded all expectations. I dont enjoy the back and forth negotiations that takes hours and sometimes days to accomplish.In todays day of the Internet and google we all know what vehicles are worth. I want a dealership to make a profit, just not all on me! Tyler and I discussed numbers for almost a minute, we shook hands and I picked my truck up the next day. It was truly as simple as that.Matt did a great job of finding me the truck I wanted and he even took it to Anchor to have the bed liner sprayed in for me. When it was done he brought it to me.Everyone loves to jump on these reviews and bash a company or a person but few take the time to commend solid, great service. I was traveling through the area when something went wrong with my car. These guys got me in quickly. When I arrived, the paperwork was quick and the car was taken in immediately. The work was done quicker than promised. I was back on the road and managed to get to my destination in time. I had concert tickets for our group worth $500 that would have been lost if the service team did not work so quickly. Its much appreciated! Good job!

I went with my daughter this past Friday looking for a reliable vehicle. We had looked the previous Tuesday without any positive results. Took my car to Berglund Ford in Salem because the seat belts suddenly stopped working. After (4) hours, I was told the car needed an ignition key cylinder and a 15A fuse. The total charge would have been $620.73, which included the $150.00 diagnostic fee. I paid the diagnostic fee, but decided to ask an independent mechanic about the problem. He laughed and simply changed the seat belt fuse for a 30A. And, guess what? The seat belts were working again!!!! He said he would be embarrassed to charge me for such a simple matter.I am asking management at Berglund Ford to return the $150.00 diagnostic fee I paid. I believe its right for Berglund Ford to do so. Wish me luck!

I had done lots of research and found myself on the Berglund lot. I had found the exact car I wanted in Lynchburg but decided to look locally instead. I talked to Matt and Rick with the window sticker in hand.Rick ordered my car for less than any other dealer I had talked to. 7 weeks later, I got a call from Matt and was given the option of coming by that night to pick it up. Arrived about 6:30 and was given exactly the deal I was told. I got the good old trip to the finance mgr ( Justin)? and was presented with the added options without being pressured to pick one. It was almost closing time by the time I had decided and still felt no pressure to buy any of them. I hope the service dept is as good as the sales staff. Love the car and would highly recommend Berglund to anyone looking for a car.

Still waiting on my 2014 Ford focus that has been in there almost two months now. I have no received any sort of loaner car as we were told they do not do those. The service department is very honest but not reasonable when it comes to timing on fixing the problem. I have an 8 month only daughter who has constant doctor appointments and I work 6 days a week. Its getting exhausting waiting on my car and struggling to find way to make things work. Nice people and lovely place.. just not satisfied with the service department at this time.
One of the best overall experiences have had. Both my husband and I have had wonder experiences in both sales and service. Professional and courteous service can be hard to find but Berglund Ford Mazda has found the answer and provided both. They sincerely appreciated our business.

Do NOT buy used cars from their lot! They are scheming liars and cheats, especially John Templeton. I asked honest questions about the car they sold me regarding tires, brakes, lights, etc. Then when I had my mechanic look over the vehicle, I found out that a wheel was bent, there were scratches in the paint, the brakes were bad - AND a tail-light went out only 2 months after the purchase! I will NEVER recommend Berglund to ANYONE. They took advantage of me and my family and they pressured me into purchasing the vehicle. AND they propositioned me to be a calendar girl. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT.If you dont want to be swindled, go somewhere else. The Berglund used car lot is just there for you to overpay and be under serviced. If I could put zero or negative stars on this review, I would.
I buy a car every five or so years. I need service for that car every two or three months. Therefore, in buying a vehicle service for that vehicle is of utmost importance. I have not had pleasant visits to Berglund for service. I just dont find the service department very helpful. I never feel sure that I am getting what I need. There is very little communication or suggestions from the service department. I would like a service department that would give me the feeling that I could trust to help me take care of my vehicle the best it can be taken care of. The service department is just not friendly. There really arent any thank yous or apologies for mistakes. Maybe they are just not interested in servicing my vehicle. I never could get through to management to discuss this. And, Ive never gotten a return call. I love the product but I need service more so.

Great experience! Zeke Exline is the best!!! I had been looking for a new to me preowned Mazda 6 for a while. I test drove a few cars at other dealerships but did not get a great customer service experience. I drove through the Salem Mazda lot on my lunch break to check out the new models and Zeke came out. I immediately felt comfortable talking to and he showed me all the features and benefits of the new Mazdas in my price range. He explained everything I needed to know to make an informed decision. He even picked up a car from the Lynchburg Berglund lot and drove it to Salem for me to try out. I loved it! My dad and I came in to work with Zeke on a Saturday and the transaction was smooth. He explained every step of the process along the way so we knew what to expect. My dad has been buying cars for over 50 years and he said Zeke was the best sales person hes ever had. Way to go Zeke. The crew at Berglund went above and beyond for us. We are a fellow Ford store located in Mt Juliet TN. We were delivering a truck a customer in Richmond VA when we had mechanical problems. They stopped what they were doing and stepped up to help get our driver back on the road. It is nice to see there is still some professional courtesy left in a very competitive business.

Worst service department Ive ever encountered. Every single time we bring a vehicle here from recall work to Mazda repairs they do either subpar or rushed work. One visit had recall work and an oil change. When I finally (6 hours longer than promised) got the car back they forgot to reset the gauges for the computer. Every time you set an appointment they delay you. Today I had an appointment for 1pm because the techniciangoes to lunch 12-1and when I get here they tell me he decided to go from 1-2 today so my work will be delayed an hour or more. Terrible business practice. Last car we will mistake of buying here.

They made buying a car a pleasant experience. I went in with poor credit (foreclosure) and was just hoping to get a decent used car. They bought the title on the used car($2900) and got me into a new 2016 Ford Escape for no money down and the same payment that i was paying to JD By ryder (ripoff)..
I worked with Matt Bishop and Jim Sanders to purchase our CX9. We drove from FL to VA since the dealers down there didnt have the car we wanted. We did most of the process online and by phone, and our vehicle was ready when we arrived. Hands down the best car buying experience ever.
Not too many bad things to say but it was not the experience that I wish it had been. I called spoke to someone, told them what car I wanted, and also advised of how far I was coming from (an hour and a half), and told them I wanted to leave with a car. I get to the dealership and the car I inquired about is making a noise so needless to say I couldnt get that car. I was disgusted and beyond frustrated and they knew it. They tried their best and even did paperwork for a newer model of the same car and they would discuss it with me the next day. I didnt get a call but I think I may have accidentally given them the wrong number. Oops. Again nothing bad to say I think my whole car buying experience up to this point just had me frustrated and disgusted with everything.

I must say that this is one of the best dealership I had dealings with Matt Bishop and Rick Johnson were absolutely great no haggling got right down to the bottom line on the price of the new vehicle and met my needs on the trade in. I made an appt with a salesperson to test drive two Mazdas yesterday. He said he would be just inside the door when I arrived. I arrived exactly on time and he was not there. No one greeted me and after walking around I finally found two men in a big office and they paged him. More waiting and he finally shows up and tells some family showed up and he was working with them instead. He said he would find someone else to help me and I ended up with a salesperson from the FORD dealership next door. He told me he didnt know much about Mazdas but would go with me on the test drive. By this time, I was so disgusted with my treatment, I was in no mood to like the car much less buy one. It was a total waste of my time and I will not do business with this dealership. Do yourself a favor and try the the Lynchburg and Martinsville Mazda dealerships.

We moved to the area recently and had to take our Mazda Tribute in for service. Not only did they treat us well from start to finish, they fixed the car for less than the estimate, gave us a loaner car for the duration of the time our car was in service, and were pleasant and easy to work with. Josh Moyer and the whole crew were pros.
I have been to the service center at Berglund Ford Mazda 2 times, and both times have received the absolute worst service from any service center in my life. I bought my Mazda when I was living in San Diego, who by the way had the best service center I have ever experienced. I moved to Roanoke 2 years ago and unfortunately, Berglund is the only Mazda service center in Roanoke. But because of the horrible experiences I have had there, I will never, ever return. I will drive an hour out of my way for service rather than go back to Berglund. I am so disappointed by not only the lack of customer service at the Berglund Ford Mazda Center, but also the Incredibly Rude Nature of the people who work there. Its a shame they are the only Mazda Center in Roanoke.

My recent visit to Berglund Ford in Salem was a terrible experience. I have had positive new car sales experiences over the last 5-6 years at other dealers. Because of these experiences, I though the days of sleazy, underhanded car sales were over, but I was wrong, it is alive and well at Berglund. I am not sure if I had a bad sales person, Randy Bivens, or if the culture at Berglund is to blame. I left the lot quickly, knowing there are many other dealers in Roanoke that I have found to be more honest to their approach in car sales.

I was driving alone back to mountains of WNC from NJ (11 plus hour nonstop drive), travelling along, darkness falling and in the rains of Irma. I began panicking when my tire pressure alarm kept sounding despite air filling both in NJ and Staunton. I looked for Mazda dealer in my path, I find Berglund.I call and Johnny tells me directions, even though it is near closing, and he assured me he would help me. I find Berglund and Johnny looks at my tire, calls extra tech to help inspect/fix as they take it in service area, and Mike keeps me calm and chatting about our lives.There are very few businesses I would see doing this for anyone. They refused payment and I drove home in the dark feeling safe and optimistic about the human condition.Please visit this business and experience what customer service is all about. Horrible after sale service. I bought a certified pre-owned Mazda from Berglund and had it transported to Syracuse, New York where I live. They required that I pay $300 for out-of-state licensing to be done by some company they use. I was hesitant because it was more than twice the cost of licensing, titling, and plating the car myself at the NY DMV but they wouldnt sell the car without me paying for that service so I agreed. At the time of the sale, I was told to expect NY plates, NY registration, and NY title in the mail in a few weeks. In the meantime, they provided me with temporary Virginia plates (printed on paper to be stuck to the inside of the windshield).Well, it has been TWO MONTHS now and nothing has been mailed to me. The temporary plates are only good for 30 days so they are expired. The dealership has stopped responding to my calls and emails (including those to the sales person, the sales manager, and the general manager). My lender called them asking where the title was and they told the lender that they LOST IT!!! So now, Im driving a car with expired temporary out-of-state plates and no title so I cant register and title in NY even if I wanted to. I ended up filing a complaint with the Virginia Dealer Board. Hopefully, they can force the dealership to fix the problem. I would never buy from them again.

Just purchased a 2015 F350 King Rancher 4X4 Duely. Mat, Tyler and Rick really made it easy for me to join the Burgland Ford Family. I had a F350 without a motor in it. I had blown the engine while towing a fith wheel trailer. Not only did they give me a good price for my truck, the deal on the 2015 was great. I dont really like to negotiate and in this case I did not have to. The deal they offered was far better than the one I had received from one of their competetors. Back in June, My wife and I wanted to buy our daughter her first car. My wife and daughter went to Berglund Mazda in Salem. They met Rob Breinich and set up a time for all of us to go by se the car my daughter had picked out and to meet Rob. I found Rob to be somewhat new to selling cars but that did not keep him from being extremely professional and had a great personality, he answered all of our questions. Of course my duaghter wanted only a certan color, interior and all of the bells and whistles. Before you know Rob was on the nationawide locater looking for this specific car. Rob was very honest and forthright w/ us throughout this process. Couldnt really find the exact car (the way she wanted it) that my my daughter wanted. We finally made a deal on a car that Rob had on the lot. Finally...Rob stayed w/ us the whole way. he followed up w/ me when he said he would, top notch. Overall I am very pleased w/ Rob, Tyler, and Berglund.
We recently bought a new ford escape from berglund ford in salem. we went to two other dealers when were looking at new vehicles thinking that we might want to try another brand. our last purchase was also a ford from berglund. after looking at buicks in staunton and chevrolets in christiansburg and being offered rediculous amounts for our trade-in i decided to try out a new ford escape. i was really impressed with the escape. it is a titanium pkg. we talked to randy bivins and he remembered us from our last deal 3 years ago. we set down and talked about the deal and after very little negotiaing we walked away with the deal that we wanted. as long as we keep getting treated this good at berglund we will return everytime we want a new vehicle. in fact my husband is looking at a new f150 fx4. we will see.
