Hayden, Dillon, Freddy and Matt -- all 4 earned our respect by being honest, sincere, accomodating, knowledgeable and efficient in each step of buying the vehicle we wanted. No one wasted one minute of our time, nor did they rush us through any part of the process. They were generally caring ... in fact, Hayden called the next day to make sure we got home OK and that everything was fine. We drove almost 200 miles (one way) to accomplish this transaction, and these 4 people made every mile worth it.

Ive been looking in the Northern Oregon/Southern Washington are for a truck for over a year. Last Friday night, I found a listing for a used truck that fit our needs, and was close to our budget. The photos were ok on the web site, and I took a chance and booked a test drive.Im glad I did. The truck was in such amazing shape, their photos really didnt do it justice. I was more than amazed, that within 15 minutes, I was taking a test drive. I brought my manager (dad needed out of the house) along for the ride.I worked with Brent Baker who greeted us right away. Brent made the process of drive testing, vehicle trade-in, and purchase exceedingly easy. One of the quickest purchases Ive been through in my life.Dealership was covid clean, and all the staffers vaccinated making us feel all the more confident that these folks care about the people around them.Will definitely recommend, and visit these folks again if the need arises.

Came in this morning without an appointment for my Ram. Obviously very busy time of year and was told appointments are a week and a half out. The service staff was still helpful and accommodating and said to drop it off and they would try to work it in due my family having an upcoming camping trip. Service staff diagnosed and fixed the problem the same day! I’m ecstatic and very grateful for the help. Service writers and staff were awesome!

I found an ad online for a new vehicle that I was interested in. After calling the salesman, Freddie told me about the price being actually $6000 higher than MSRP listed on their website due to shortage of vehicles (might as well take advantage of Covid right)I specifically told Freddie I was not willing to pay much more than MSRP and that I was driving from 2 hours away. He told me to drive in and make an offer. The sales team was not willing to take even close to MSRP and was holding very firm at their Covid upsell price. If Freddie would have told me they werent negotiable it would have saved me half a day and a tank of fuel. Im very bummed that the dealership doesnt value my time and cant be straightforward. Id recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Attention all certified car owners Already suffered loss due to the fact that Withnell doesnt honor its warranties. Told them months ago that my Honda was burning oil.I had two separate shops do oil changes on this motor to monitor it. Both times the motor burnt up quarts of oil every thousand miles. Long story short when we went to drop it off their service manager and minion both told me while being recorded while I was in there that my warranty doesnt cover my vehicle because it is Honda. I informed them this is fraud considering I bought the vehicle due to the extended warranty. They then said they are a Dodge dealership and couldnt work on Hondas. I laughed collecting my wife told them wed see them in court and left. Since then my starter went out which I reported and was supposed to be fixed when I took it to them. $500 out of pocket Im now waiting for the motor is to completely blow before we head to the courts.Interesting to note that the service manager called my wife not me 30 minutes after we left and started attempting to make excuses about what the warranty does and doesnt cover when you just told us they couldnt work on the vehicle or check to see what was excessive oil burn because they cant read and couldnt possibly talk to Honda. Either way, real shady outfit, would never do business with them again and have no choice but to see them in court. Real scummy stuff.And to anybody at works Dodge we have given all of your people a chance to deal with us including reaching out directly to the owner weve never heard anything this is been going on for the last 8 months.

They tried to use a bait and switch to sell me a truck. Their online advertised price is much lower than the “dealer markup” of several thousands you’ll see once you arrive there. My wife and I drove over an hour to see a truck only to find out that this is a shady dealer. No other dealer posts false advertised prices like this one does. Plus there are some other shady practices we noticed when we were there. Feel free to ask me any questions, but stay away from this stealership.

Tried to sell us in at a ridiculous interest rate, didnt want to finance through our bank because its easier for us to go through ours . REALLY? Promised to fill tank, didnt do it. Promised to send a fuel card to make up for it, didnt do it. Contacted sales manager, Promised to make sure the salesman sent a fuel card. Guess what? Didnt do it. Avoid this dealership. Went in to make a appointment for warranty work and wow the guy that helped me if that’s what you want to call it needS to be re trained. I have never been talked down to like that before by a dodge rep. He acted like I was bothering him and arguing with every word I said. I honestly felt like I was getting pranked or I was in a game show but then came to realize that this is just the withnell way of doing business.

Every time we took our van into withnell they never fix the problem or we would get it back and there would be more problems and we would call and tell them about it and they still refuse to fix the problem even after my husband took the van in and told byron there was a problem .he would say nothings wrong or we can find the problem

Byron the service manager was very helpful. I had to drop my car off and he made sure I had an Uber/Lyft to get home and get back. He made sure my warranty covered my parts and the diagnostic test. Also hes a nice guy. The work done seemed to have fixed my issue as well.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a dealership. My husband and I walked in with really just the question of how much we could get for our trade-in. We had already been to two other dealerships that had given us fair offers and we had been pre-approved with our bank for a certain amount, so we had a really good idea of where the trade-in needed to be at in order to purchase the truck we wanted. The salesman was great and everything was going fine at first, but he had a question about the paperwork from our bank. My husband and I fully understood the terms of our loan, we wouldn’t have been at the dealership ready to buy a car if we didn’t; but the salesman seemed to be confused. So, after a few questions, he said his manager would be coming in just to make sure we were all on the same page. The manager, Jimmy, came in and right away he seemed exasperated. He began reading the terms of our loan to us very slowly as if were too dumb to understand them. I tried telling him that we understood what our loan was, but he continuously talked over me. After like the third time that I told him I knew what the terms were, he moved on to the trade-in and gave us an offer that was substantially lower than the others we’d gotten. I thanked him for his time but said it was too low. So then he began mansplaining the price of their truck to me and how it all worked. I thanked him again for his time but said we wouldn’t be able to take that offer on our trade-in because we’d been offered higher at other places. So then he made us feel like we were lying about the offers we’d received by saying that if anyone offered that, that we should go and take that deal because it was a great one! We left feeling completely humiliated. He had talked to us like we were dumb and dishonest. This was not our first time trying to purchase a vehicle and we’ve dealt with pushy salesmen and everything else, but this was by far the worst we’ve ever been treated.

Our dodge truck has been in the service center for over 3 weeks and isn’t expected to be done till at least another week. I can’t count the amount of times we’ve had to be on the phone with dodge and chrysler just to get things moving for our truck to be fixed. It took over 3 weeks just to get the go ahead for them to say how to fix it. They also lied about when the submitted the request for approval. We have a total of two dodge vehicles in the shop with our second one going on 7 weeks. We are without vehicles or even rental cars with no help with the inconveniences. The service center has also been very rude every time we call for an update. Once I get our truck back, we will not be going to this service center again.

I dropped off my Grand Caravan for warranty repairs, check engine light, and a headlamp moisture issue at the Service Center on Sunday, December 27th, 2020 and just now got it back today, Friday, January 8th, 2021.The reason for the five stars is because of the Service Advisor, Byron Otteson. He was phenomenal about keeping in contact with me and providing updates. Through New Years, technician illness, COVID-19, and delay after delay, Byron was excellent and went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of! In 1996 we bought the blue and silver ram 2500 diesel 4x4, our salesman was Randy Holman, our service advisor was Dave and our mechanic was a great guy named Roddy, I share this with you for a reason, old blue as we call her has 445000 miles on her and I would take her anywhere right now but after 22 years we had such a great experience at Withnell we dropped by and found a new truck to add to the family, now let me tell you I HATE THE DEALER EXPERIENCE.... but I met Travis Baldwin... salesman that new my expectations... no messing around, no waiting around for hours, no BS, straight to the point. We bought a new 1500 eco diesel 4x4.. (Drives like a Cadillac) we negotiated a price and was out the door in about an hour. If I could give a ZERO stars I would. I brought my dodge pickup in 2 months ago to fix the window regulator. They had to take the door panel off in order to fix it. After this was fixed a week ago I noticed that my door handle was broken. Keep in mind I am a farmer and with harvest things can go unnoticed. This morning I took my pickup in to get it looked at for warranty work. They are refusing to fix the handle and are claiming it is a common problem. How many break just shorty after they had that whole door panel worked on in their service center? I wouldnt recommend this service department to anyone.

I was naively all set on a certain color, but the salesman also pointed out some options that came with a different one. Stubborn me started the sale on the perfect color one, only to realize I could get so many more additions with the other color. So I said lets go for his suggestion because the extras meant a lot to me. Well, about a minute into driving it, I COMPLETELY fell in love with the inside and no longer cared about the color outside. But seriously, its gorgeous all over anyway, who cares if its a more common color? I have never in my life loved a car this much. I have recently been exploring the possibility of a second vehicle to use as a daily commuter vehicle. And I’ve long been interested in the challenger. So I saw one on their website and reached out. The online rep was great, answered questions, and transferred me to a sale specialist (Eric). After some back and forth on pricing and what terms could look like I agreed to stop by and look at the vehicle and do a test drive. Unfortunately I was not thrilled with the test drive as the vehicle was not as I expected based on driving a prior model year several years back. The ride quality was terrible. Which to be clear is not the dealerships fault. But when the sales guy asked what I thought and I told him the ride quality wasn’t that great and I felt it wouldn’t be good as a commuter vehicle he became agitated and made a snide remark that perhaps I should go look at Cadillacs or Lincoln’s instead. The guy was rude and dismissive as well as pushy when I told him in had a set maximum and wouldn’t go over it. Kept trying to get me to agree to go over.Overall not impressed with pushy user car salesmen types who are rude and disrespectful to customers. Plenty of other dealerships to shop at in Salem and beyond.Update to owner, I am happy to speak to the Sales Manager about the incident. Not sure it will change my mind on anything though.

They tried to slip in a higher monthly payment than was originally agreed upon into the paperwork. Very shady business practice. Do not buy from this dealer.Response to reply from owner:No thank you. Your employee Ron in finance was very rude and acted as if it was an inconvenience for him to be helping. He wasnt the original person who had done the financing the day before, and when it came time to come back the next day to sign final paperwork, the monthly payment had mysteriously gone up and the explanation as to why didnt add up. Kinda crazy that your finance department wasnt willing to honor the original agreement or offer a reasonable explanation, especially during these times when you should be doing everything in your power to make a sale. We will be going to another dealership.

I made the mistake of filling out their online contact request. Now I get constant emails from them, even though I have opted out, for months now about buying a Ram, although I already bought a Ram elsewhere. And when I called in to ask if they could remove me, the sales guy said I had to tell them where I bought my Ram before theyd remove me. Thats terrible customer service. I might not have bought from you this time, but I will absolutely never buy anything from you in the future. I buy a new vehicle every two years, and these twits screwed themselves out of any possible future sale.

This Dodge dealer is great. I’ve had my Ram 1500 here multiple times for service, oil changes, recalls, and warranty work, and every time the customer service has been exceptional. The staff working in the service department always go the extra mile to ensure you’re being taken care of, getting the correct service, and getting to/from places while your vehicle is being worked on. I’ve been pretty impressed with the way they treat their customers. They even give free Uber rides while they work on your vehicle, and do free loaner cars if your car/truck is in the shop for an extended period of time. I usually work with Roger in the service department, and he’s a great guy to work with. Attention to detail is superb!

Took my truck in with an unknown electrical problem.. Completely dead... The shop rep (Byron) kept me updated at every step of the diagnostic and repair process and let me know of my options. Turns out the repair was less than quoted, and they were able to get it repaired and ready within a day. Price of repair was more than I would have liked, but they went the extra mile with their customer service.

When our 3 year old truck left us stranded on the side of I5 with our travel trailer, kiddo, and dog, whitnell was the closest dodge dealer to work with. They would only cover the cost of a rental if we used their rental company which refused to supply us with a comparable vehicle. We were given a Jeep renegade and told no dogs allowed in the rental. This left us on our own to find a way to haul our trailer and get our dog home. Luckily a friend was able to drive from out of town and help. When we returned the rental we were left with pompous remarks about how dirty the outside and inside of the rental was, “for reference, next time you should clean the inside out before returning it”. Prior to picking it up, we warned them that we lived on a gravel road more suitable for a truck and that we had a toddler. So of course it needed washed and vacuumed after we used it. Isn’t renting out and maintaining their fleet their job? The original estimate for repairs on our truck was three months, but luckily it was completed in just two weeks. I’ll give it to them there, they made quick work of a big malfunction. But when they called to inform us the truck was ready, we were already headed out of town for the weekend and said we could not get in there till Monday. They then himmed and hawed about how they could only cover the rental cost for so many days...well is that my problem? Maybe try selling a quality product from the start that doesn’t blow up at 67k miles....When I showed up Monday to get our truck I assumed I could transfer over the car seat and kiddo and go on my way while they handled getting the rental car checked in and back down the street to their lot. Nope, I was told to drive it there and then the rental company would give me a ride back. Great, back in the car seat that my toddler was already upset about being in for so long (it’s a 1.5hr drive one way for us to the dealership). After getting everything transferred and taken care of, my toddler and I walked around whitnells lot looking at new and used pickups because we were hoping to trade our truck in eventually (which we already told them when we dropped it off for the warranty work). Not a single person came out to help us. I don’t want to play the gender card here, but just because I’m a female walking around looking at trucks with a toddler does not make me any less capable of spending money on a truck. I guarantee if my husband would have done the same thing he would have had immediate service (or at least some kind of service after opening up and looking inside several different trucks).Update—we discovered after driving our truck all the way home, that it is leaking what looks like power steering fluid (possible broken hose from the mechanical work done at the dealership). So it’s back to the dealership we go....

It turned out they had to order the part they needed to fix the issue and Im taking my car back in next week to have it fixed. They are very nice and helpful people that seem to know what they are doing and Ive enjoyed doing business with them.

Have a draw problem on the motor battery in a 2006 van. Was told at the end of the first day, it could cost 3-4 hundred dollars to find the problem. Of course the assumption was that after the problem was found it could/would be fixed. After two days, I was told that there were two problems, from the radio and the panel. The suggestion was to get a battery shut off device. I asked that the radio be disconnected as to decrease that draw. When I arrived for the vehicle, I said I had found a battery shut off device, could they install it? Not sure where to start! My experience at Withnell was spectacular. My salesman Johnathan was a pleasure to work with he got me my 2018 Durango R/T at a great price. Experienced service guys who have figured out tough things on my 1990 Dodge B3500 Van when no one else can. They are fair in their pricing and have offered solutions frequently. I live out of state but make sure Im set to have them take care of my van when I am in town. They know what they are doing and having a good mechanic is worth so very much. Freddie Cruz is one of the best salesmen Ive ever worked with. He did not pressure us to buy, but told us everything we needed to know to make an informed decision. The dealership is what you would expect as far as cleanliness and being organized. The finance manager was also very informative without making us feel pressured. He gave us all of the options and let us decide what to do, rather than try to tell us what we should do. I would definitely recommend this dealer if shopping for a new or used vehicle. Our newer van wouldnt turn on, and the key was stuck in the ignition. I was fearing something expensive, but when I called the service center they said to simply jumpstart it. Worked like a charm. Turns out the battery cable was loose on the battery post.

Took in for oil change.. they did not put the cover back on the air filter. BROKE the oil cap. And did not fully tighten the oil drain plug.. I expect BETTER from Dodge! They are great at sales.. duh! Their car salesman, thats their job! Read the reviews. Dont buy from any dealer that doesnt have a Great service team. And and do more with the parts department. Its not the sale that keeps customers coming back.. its the treatment that you are as important now as you were when you signed your new car paperwork.....

Bought a new Challenger, the salesman Adam was fantastic to work with the whole sales process was very pleasant. A 4 star process! Could have been 5 but my trade in price hurt a little :)I called to schedule an appointment for my first service and asked if they provided a shuttle ride to work. The gentleman on the phone said they do. They also do not require an appointment which is nice.I showed up the next morning at 7:30 and to my surprise the service writer said he could call me a cab or sell me a rental car. That must be what they consider a shuttle!? The oil change cost me $100, it DIDNT include a shuttle, they DIDNT wash or vacuum my car and I left feeling quite ordinary having just spent over $40,000 on a new car. To me this is unacceptable . The service department in NO way matches the sales department.My wife has a 160k miles on her 2004 Yukon we have serviced at Power Buick/GMC we didnt purchase it from there and they treat us like gold. A 60 dollar oil change included a wash/vacuum and FREE shuttle service.Ill be finding a new dealer to service my Challenger.

I understand negative reviews can sometimes look like a grudge so I wont offer my opinions on the practices I observed today in person at Withnell Dodge of Salem, I will simply note them and allow readers of this review to come to their own conclusions:After visiting the dealership earlier in the week and test driving a car I subsequently negotiated a price on the vehicle with my salesman and was given both verbal and texted confirmation of the agreed price which was confirmed as an on the road price, inclusive of all tax, title & fees. Based on this confirmation I traveled to the dealership to complete the purchase. During the first hour of form signing and photocopying, I was presented with a form to sign which, on inspection, turned out to be a request for permission to run a credit check. As I was paying in full by check I queried this and was told it was company policy to run a credit check regardless, unfortunately they seemed absolutely unable to provide me with any other reasonable purpose for insisting on a credit check on a customer NOT purchasing a car on credit, and so despite their multiple attempts to encourage me, and with a heavy heart, I declined to sign the form. Fortunately after several trips by my salesman to see the boss I was told that as I was extra special they would just this once overlook this policy...it made me feel warm inside and I was transferred over to the Finance Dept. After the first bout of hand cramping signing and initialing was completed I was at last presented with the final bill of sale to sign! I was shocked to my core to discover that somehow the tax, title and fees (amounting to just shy of $500) had been accidentally added on top of the on the road price we had agreed. I pointed out their mistake and showed the finance guy the texted confirmation on my phone, he then graciously offered to take possession of my unlocked phone and walk it over to his boss in the other building to get this misunderstanding sorted out once and for all! For unfathomable reasons I just didnt feel comfortable handing over my unlocked phone containing all my personal information, along with the only written proof of the offer I had received, so I declined and offered to send him a copy of the text or show it to his boss personally. Luckily for me it seemed that my previous extra special status remained and this wouldnt be necessary. Further waiting and thumb twiddling ensued as I awaited Finance Guys return and Sales Guy was sent over to paint a picture of misunderstanding and regret in lieu of Finance Guys eventual return whereupon I was informed that they would not honor the agreed price and I should hit the road.....I can only assume they meant with the appropriate on the road fees included.**Reply to owner**Perhaps I was unclear in my review? You didnt do a poor job of explaining the fees, you did a poor job of honoring an agreed upon price. I could not have been clearer when negotiating the price, my budget was the ONLY thing in consideration regards this purchase, I even discussed the reason why it was the only consideration in depth with both your Salesman AND i believe it was one of the managers. This is why I was very clear about the agreed price being an on the road price inclusive of all tax, title & fees as it represented my absolute financial ceiling. Please by all means have your Sales Manager contact me, I will keep my reviews up to date accordingly, as Im sure you are aware a true measure of any company is not whether you have negative reviews and complaints but how you address them.

My husband and I recently purchased an 09 Ram 2500 Diesel. Beautiful truck. We worked with Wayne, older gentleman, retired vet, who was the nicest man you could ever hope to meet and deal with. We both highly recommend him as your sales person. The dealership gave us waaay more for our trade in (which was nothing special) and was very fair in the financing department. Really liked these guys and felt well taken care of.
