My mom called and asked if they could do her Lexus spark plugs. She was told they could. She took it in. Paid. Later it seemed like a lot, so she called the HIGHLAND PARK dealership to ask how much it would have been if she took it there. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN over 100 less. She won’t be going there anymore. Also no masks or covid precautions.

Salem Auto Service Saved the Day for my family and I!!! We were just on our way out of town and the battery in our vehicle died. We called them to see if they could help us and change out the battery right away so we could get on the road. Not only did they get us in RIGHT AWAY they changed it right out in the parking lot when it was only 18 degrees out so we didnt have to take all three of our kids out of the car! They were so nice, great quality of service and very professional. They now have my families business and I will be letting everyone know they need to check them out as well. Thank you so much!!

They replaced my timing chain which is a hell of a job and did an excellent job. Also did my brakes and rotors and my oil changes in the past. Super worth it and pleased with my experience.

I only get my emissions tested here. No mask mandate and everybody was cramped in the waiting room. I waited outside in the cold.

I went in to get my emissions done. Everyone I talked to was over the top nice and helpful. I was in and out in less that 15 minutes. I highly recommend this place for anything you need done! Even if you’re not close by believe me it’s worth the drive!

Just needed a emissions tests. They were done in 5-10 minutes and had the car ready.Ive had many oil changes here in the past. They even have dropped me back at work and picked me up later when they were finish.

My experience at Salem Auto Service was solid. They fit me in same day for an oil change, checked all my fluids and tire pressure for additional charge, and gave me a fair price as a whole. Staff was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Seating area was a bit cramped, but it was a good experience. It seemed to me that they make a habit of going he extra mile to do good work for their customers, and seemed to know a few of them by name while I was there. I would definitely go back.

I would, without hesitation, trust Tim and his employees with my life, which Im doing, after all. A bit pricy, but the service is out of this world.

First time visit, came in for in oil change and to have the car looked over for a noise coming from the exhaust. Without consulting me first they patched a tire that had a screw in it that I was unaware of. Ended up tripling my bill. What if I didnt have extra money to pay for that repair? Was it necessary? Yes. Did they find out what noise was coming from the exhaust? No. Taking advantage of easy money situations in my opinion. Not to mention I had a check engine light on that they didnt check. Instead told me about the obvious light being on and to come back and schedule more repairs. I wont be coming back.

Only once or twice you come across a shop that is honest, timely, and competent. I have owned cars since the 70s and this is one of them. I am actually looking forward to taking my cars here for a long time!

This is my first time bringing our vehicle here. We had an appointment last Thursday, it is now Saturday, which they are closed, and even after calling on Thurs twice and Friday twice the man said he doesnt have an estimate for me, he will call be back soon, never does. I told him they better not be working on the car without me knowing all the details first, bc we still dont know everything they found wrong, except brakes, which we knew,Wanted to get car back today, fixes or not, nut they are closed. Worried that they are putting mileage on it or things are done without our consent and then they will try to charge us.The mans excuse said he was too busy. Well then dont overbook or get more help.3 days I should be picking my finished car up, not still waiting for an estimate and a findings report. .Definitely not a good first impression.

Heater hose assembly broke 1 mile from the shop when traveling through. They were very busy but said they didn’t want to see me stranded. Got me back on the road in less than 3 hours. Guys were great, techs were informative and respectful. Thanks guys!

Very honest and reasonably priced...everyone was nice and considerate. Car X in Antioch, Il. flat out lied to me and tried charging me $900. for my upper control arms on my truck when there was nothing wrong with them! I would recommend Salem Auto, will go back again.

All around auto-repair shop, will do most repairs outside of specialized ones. Also does oil changes as well as annual registration for your plates and emissions testing (there is a surcharge like any other location you go to). Pretty honest and friendly service, will even offer you a ride home if you need it. Open 7-6 Monday through Saturday.

They finished my car quickly and were very friendly. I was stranded and had to have my car towed. I could have had it towed close by or all the way to Salem Auto Service which is close to my house but a long tow. I feel I made the right decision. My wife had to pick up the car and she said they explained everything and were very nice to her. She hates going to mechanics because she says they make her feel like she is dumb, but not so with Salem. That was a big relief for me.
