We asked for help of a product that was recommended by the salesman and it did not work so we went back to talk to the manager and the manager did not care or understand what we were doing and she didnt care at all, this was the owner Sherry Blackman I found out she is the accounting.Very unhappy they also did not have the MSDS they had to look for it on there computer. NOT Good.Also we showed them pictures of what we are doingAnd got blows 😑

My partner and I went in yesterday - referred from the Ace down the street, which is great. We were looking for unistrut - also sometimes known as superstrut - which is a commonly used building component. Not only had no one here heard of it - so weird at a hardware store! - the guy at the main desk was very rude and almost seemed angry that we were asking for something hed never heard of. So we reluctantly went to Lowes. I would much rather have supported a smaller store but they made us feel so unwelcome theres no way Ill go back for anything else now.

After the ice storm I took my very old and now broken dog run cable in and they matched it perfectly. With their materials I reinstalled with ease and nothing was wasted. It was a perfect fit.

I went into the store so that I could support a local business. It had almost everything I needed at a reasonable price. When I went to check out, I was met with sexist remarks from the older gentleman at the register and another worker. It was highly disappointing. I will not spend anymore money at this establishment.

Went on on a drizzly Friday afternoon to get some wood for a shelf project in the garage. My husband wanted to support a local business. I paid $30 more than I would have at a national competitor, and the two by fours are so wet its going to be a long time before I can build with them. Although the gentleman who loaded my lumber was efficient, he wasnt friendly. Ill brave the chain store next time I need lumber.

I do so many more DIY projects now! I hated walking around the big box stores looking for someone to help me. Not the case at Kilgore Blackman, the staff is so nice and helpful. They also have very competitive prices compared to the big box stores.

The only place I go now. The staff here is so attentive and helpful. I never have an issue finding what I need. They have really great prices for a small business.

This is the best hardware store in Salem Oregon bar none. Still run as a family-owned business under the True Value Hardware franchise. The guys that work at this store know their stuff and are great help for any DIY or professional project.

The store has some well-aged experts, who are very helpful. I was able to repair an old oak table, that has been in our family for 60 years, thanks in part to one mans advise and assurances.
