Great place but after calling more than five times to schedule an appointment and nobody answering the phone I gave up and went elsewhere after 10 years of being a customer.

I love the Sugar House Vision Clinic! I went there for the first time a few months ago. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, funny, and helpful. Brian in particular was so funny and helpful! The whole team made me feel right at home and comfortable. I got a great eye exam from Dr. Darren Terry, who spent extra time double checking that he got my prescription right which I really appreciated. Brian also helped me pick out a pair of new glasses. I highly recommend going to the clinic - youll have a great, welcoming experience every time.

I never leave reviews but I just had to make known that Sugarhouse vision is the absolute best vision place in the city. I had gone to them to 7+ years but recently had to change insurances and they didn’t accept my new insurance. I went to two local Standard Opticals and had horrendous experiences. I ended up coming back to Sugarhouse Vision and paying out of pocket because their expertise, professionalism, kindness and outstanding customer service is truly unbeatable. Worth every penny!

Ill always have a fondness for this place Dr. Todd Kimball (Retired) has been taking care of me for less than 10 years. Ill miss our nice talks, Hes like a comfortable old country Dr. hard to find. :)

Very pleasant experience!! Havent been to eye Dr in awhile and was nervous but Dr.Terry and his support staff made it amazzzinggggg!! 100000% recommend, very knowledgeable and caring staff.

I needed to be seen same-day and they were great about getting me in! Brian helped me from start to finish and made me feel completely comfortable and attended to. They even called in the prescription I needed right away so I could go pick it up and get to feeling better. Great experience overall!

The entire staff at Sugar House Vision is incredible. Their opticians are top notch and can always find a good fitting pair of glasses. Today when ordering more contacts, Ari called back and made sure that the correct insurance was billed to maximize my benefits. That would never happen at a big box vision store. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable! During my transition to contact lenses they took the extra time to answer all of my questions, even the ones I thought were stupid. They explained EVERYTHING in detail and made sure I understood it before moving forward. The eye exams for both glasses and contacts were excellent. I am not one to leave reviews on companies even if the experience was poor, but I was highly disappointed.. I have only worked with Sugar House Vision twice, but I still wouldn’t recommend it to any of my friends or family. I called in on Monday morning of last week to order contacts. The man I spoke with said he would check with my insurance policy to see how much it covered and would call me right back... I never got a call back. I called in the following day to try to re order them again. I was told it would take 2 days to get in, presumably Thursday. I waited until Friday afternoon to call in to see what was going on and see if I could at least get a trail pair while I was waiting. My very lost contact had ripped so I was only seeing out of one eye which was why I so pressed to order these contacts ASAP. When I called in I was told that they didn’t have any trail pairs they could give me and apparently when I spoke for the second time they still weren’t ordered. I was told they would place the order in again and they should be arriving Monday. At this point if it wasn’t for the fact that I need these contacts ASAP so I can see properly at out of both eyes... I would honestly just go somewhere else and save myself the headache.

Dr. Chatwin was personable, interesting, and willing to take time to respond to questions and explain vision issues. He has considerable knowledge of various types of soft and hard contact lenses, surgery, and other vision correction options, their value and risks but didnt press me on a choice. Optometrists must complete two years of medical training on the body generally, two years of training specific to the eyes, and two years of clinical practice before they are licensed, which compares favorably to what ophthalmologists (medical eye specialists) receive. He performed the eye acuity test to determine the amount of lens correction I needed himself, which in many offices is performed by assistants with less training. He shared very helpful information on contact lens choices and development, cataract and lens insertion information. I came away feeling very pleased with the visit, the time he took, his staff, and the value of the service delivered. Getting into the office on short notice was another big plus. Thank you! I would recommend this office to friends and family.

The very helpful Sugar House Vision Clinic, 2178 S 900 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84106. Dr. Kimball is very nice and helpful when I asked to measure my frames for progressive lenses. Kimball did not even charge. Unlike the people at Salt Lake Eye Associates, who were NOT helpful when I asked to measure my frames for progressive lenses (it takes 30 seconds and can be done by their assistant). Even though I offered to pay, they would not do it unless I bought their lenses. I then called the very helpful Sugar House Vision Clinic and had a wonderful experience.

I bring my entire family here and we never have a long wait. The customer services is fantastic and the Physician is personable and professional. I also very much appreciate their willingness to reach out and care for those in our community who need extra support with eye health. Thank you!!

I hate having my eyes messed with. Dr. Chatwin makes the experience manageable for me and is easily the best optometrist Ive ever seen. Big fan, I will never see anyone else.

While I have never been seen here I will not be seen here as they violated HIPAA regulation in their response to a former patients negative review. They released details on the persons visit and actions taken. Then they proceeded to release info on his wife’s visit.“In this case, your record indicates...” and then they tell what the problems were and how much it cost the patient.I would never run the risk of visiting any medical professional who so blatantly discloses protected health information (PHI) like this.Since my post they removed their response to Mike’s negative review. I however will still not take the risk and receive services here.

Dr Chatwin is so kind and knowledgeable. My first appointment was for an eye infection and I was in and out in 15 minutes with a diagnosis and a prescription. I went for my follow up which was also a wellness exam and he let me know all of my options and which route to take since I am prone to infections and I was in and out in 30 minutes. Essentially unheard of for a doctors office. I never felt rushed once.

Update: When management heard of my issue, they did everything they could to quickly resolve the problem by providing a temporary solution. I think they do have the customers best interest at heart. Change rating from three stars to five.I was told last week that my glasses should take about a week to make. When I contacted them after 9 days, I was told it could take up to 4 weeks because I had ordered magnetic sunglass clips along with the new frames and lenses. Sure wish they would have been upfront with me in the first place so I could have made a different decision regarding the clips or gone to a different opticianry.

My family has been going to Sugar House Clinic since 1982. Dr. Kimball has done excellent work for all of us. Recently I had trouble with my progressive focus glasses. It has been years since I got them at the clinic and needed a checkup. Dr. Kimball was able to discover the changes my eyes have gone through and cleared up the double vision along with some other problems. He adjusted my prescription so that I can now see better than I have in years. THANKS!

Whoever gave Sugar House Vision Center a one star review must be talking about somewhere else. Ive been going there for years and get treated like a king! The doctors are top notch and extremely thorough, the front desk and assistants professional and caring, and Quinn Kimball even brought in special frames for me to try at my request. I wouldnt trust my eyes to anyone else!

I am new to the eye glass world, and I have recently been to two other eye docs. I thought I was destined to a life of seeing everything in a blurred state of confusion.Well, Dr. Chatwin took the time to dial in a new prescription for me. I cant believe how much better I see things.He is personable and really cared to get it right. I will never go to another eye doc. He has won all my future business.

After posting my initial review I was contacted by the manager of the clinic. He was extremely professional in his communication and expressed sorrow that my first couple of visits were not to the standard that they strive to achieve. He was prompt in responding to my email, and addressed the several concerns I had expressed. Not only was he willing to go out of his way to make things right regarding my prescription, he offered a free eye exam, but he additionally refunded me the price of my previous visits. I feel like it says a lot regarding the quality of the people working there, that they not only admitted their mistakes and made amends, but that they backed it up financially. Not very many people would do that in todays world. Im not in current need of another eye exam or new lenses, but Im going to give them another shot down the road. Its my hope that when I visit them next Ill be able to return and change my review from a 4 star to 5 star rating.

I had a fantastic experience here! The place has a wonderful vibe, everyone is amazingly nice and they have a great selection of glasses. I hate going to the doctor and these folks seriously made it a stellar, borderline fun experience.

Ive always had a great experience with Sugarhouse Vision. Went in for appointment and was told I was seeing a different doctor because they had tickets to a Utah football game. Im glad to see that football comes before patients.

Response.1. I was inacurate it was a month from the first eye test till I got glasses that were still not corect, but they were better.2. Warranty coverage on defective frames is not free, its included in the manufactures quality guarantee.3. My wifes prescription was wrong. The pair she recieved from you the first time was better than the visit the last time.4. I waited to review until you started sending me reminders.Wrong prescription for me and my wife. When I told them it was wrong they made me wait a month to retest me my guess what. It was still wrong. Got new glasses, still wrong. I will never go back. My wife went to a different place and they could not believe how bad they messed up her glasses. Very nice people just incompetent.

This is the place to go if you have any sort of complicated prescription, need progressives, prescription sunglasses, Serengeti prescription lenses, or are a real fussy stickler, like me! The service there is the very best, the people really know their stuff. I used to buy my glasses at a big chain place, but their bungling and cluelessness got very annoying, so now I go to the real pros: Sugarhouse Vision.

Dr. Chatwin is really abreast of current research and help me have hope about my sons Amblyopia (loss of vision) by educating me about factors neer before discussed by any doctor I have previously seen. He acted as if he had all day to spend with me.Dr. Chatwin took the time to discuss contact lense care and eye health. I had never experienced before his level of professionalism. Discussing the need for oxygen and a lack thereof creating vision damaging blood vessels I the eye due to over use of disposable contact lenses.Dr. Chatwin steered me in the right diretion based on my vision situation away from Laser eye surgery. He is invested in his patients and profession.After my exam, Brian fitted my eye glasses. He has the most detailed knowledge of frames, lenses and the industry I have ever experienced. He invested in listening to the customer. Brian’s knowledge and advice was extremely valuable and something I have not experienced before.Getting my contacts and glasses in one day has never happened, in addition to Brian’s explanation of the quality and construction of the different frames I had choose. He offered sound reason behind directing me to the best frame (that was less than several others I had chosen) by honestly discussion manufacturer, quality and frame origin. The Chatwin team is beyond impressive, articulate and Brian is a master of his craft. I must also note that Quinn the office manager offered assistance and met me on the floor.I highly recommend this professional customer focused Vision Center. You earned a patient and referrals.

The office staff at this clinic is very unprofessional and rude. I would never return here. When I originally got my glasses back the prescription was way off, and they essentially told me it was my fault the lenses were wrong. I had a question about my bill and each person I talked to gave me completely different information, none helpful. They are very unfriendly.

Before coming here I had lots of bad experiences. Dr Chatwin figured out my prescription the first time and figured out my problem.

Saved my vision by prompting an emergency surgery. 10/10 would buy from them again.

When trying to schedule over the phone its a hit or miss, theyre not available most of the time. They canceled my appointment with short notice. They cant schedule for August. Wasted too much time with this company.
