I took my boat to Marine Specialty with expectations to be dealing with a specialist. The worst mistake I could have made. I should have done my research before going to this crook. I was told by Butch the owner if I brought my boat in he could give me an honest quote. Big mistake on my part. Got there he couldnt give accurate quote but he could install led lights for $100. A straight out lie .$200 worth of work and charged me $525. Do your research before getting suckered like myself. This guy is dishonest never can tell you anything . Never again in life . Karma is a motha Butch . I have my boat at a honest shop now and they looked over the work you guys did. You charged me $115 for the lights he sales them for $50 you charged me $200 to install. My total bill $525. I will be talking to bbb this week you are a ripe off.

Took my 2002 DX 215 glass Tron deck boat in with cracked block had a new motor installed very timely fashion but the best thing is the guys treated me and my son like family they made us feel right at home The boat runs like a scalded eight now they threw in a whole a lot of extras that I really appreciated and explain to me how to take care of it and maintain it for the future im very satisfied and will never take my boat anywhere else

Bad... brought our boat in. Was working except, no sparks two plugs. Nothing wrong with ignition switch or harness. Picked up 3 days later. Dismantled ignition switch and harness. Instead of using a flywheel pulley they pried off the flywheel, cracking and damaging the magnet. Also, messed up power trim switch and trim motor.

Butch and team are rough around the edges, but they have a passion for doing the job right. Dont expect then to do it for free though. Theyre not cheap, but they are worth it.

I brought the boat to these guys to replace the stator. They had the boat a week and a half. So when I called, Butch told me that I had serious electrical problems and need to come down. When I got there on thursday, they had completely gutted my wiring and told me I had an electrical short on my wiring harness.I stated there was absolutely nothing wrong with the harness in which he called me a bullshitter. What They didnt know is I have a background in hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic mechanics. Assigned to the 96th FMS squadron Dyess AFB. Working on the B1b bomber and KC 135 air refueler.i brought the boat back home and in two days under an awning in the rain. I completely rewired the boat. Retesting each wire and component.I ordered a stator that came in on Thursday. One week after picking up the boat from Marine Specialty. After install and assembly. The motor fired up first ignition.By saturday I had completed working on the boat. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS are now working. Using the exact wiring that was original to the boat. Two additional issues I have with Mr. Taber and crew. First the reason I brought the boat to them is because I did not have a flywheel pulley. Apparently, neither did they they pryed the flywheel off cracking and damaging the magnet. Luckily not quite enough to ruin it. but definitely shorten the life.Secondly, the power trim motor worked before I brought it to them. I had a transom savor motor rod on the boat when I arrived. I lifted the motor using the power trim in front of his mechanic in order to retrieve the transom saver not wanting to leave it there.During their troubleshooting, I had to return to open the battery box. They had drained a brand new battery from Academy, but the tech told me he could not lift the motor withvthe power trim and that something happened overnight and the motor was fully down and the battery dead.I found that the power tilt and trim pump burned up and does not function. I rebuilt and installed all new seals and o rings but the pump itself is bad.I wished I could force them to replace the component but knowing how badly they messed up my electrical system the probably could not install a power trim correctly.
