Got some vintage wheels laced up with Mike. He’s an ocean of wealth and the work was obviously great!
About DD? Only one person on this DD Cycles, its enough. One is one, I mean, theres others bike shops, but who is more honest and fast to fix a problem with my bike? The closer to me is two miles, Ocean Bike. But I prefer to go farther, almost 8 miles to DD Cycles on Balboa St and 42 avenue. He really has practice to set whatever we need to our bikes. He is honest, not greedy overcharging to much when we take back our bike. I can say to him again, thanks.Oscar
Mike was.fantastic. Put air in a shock that another bike store said was antiquated. And gave me a reflector for my nephews bike. Yup only bike mechanic Ill go to. An SF treasure.
This place has a lot of knowledge but sure knows how to crush your dreams. I called hoping to set up an appointment to have my Walmart cruiser bike assembled. (I know, I ordered it from a department store, big no no apparently) My first bike, and I am here in SF w/ out family so was hoping to gain support and advice. Instead, I got off the phone crying after being scolded and told it could cost up to $300 to assemble. :(
Always up for a challenge, I wanted to replace the front rim on my mountain bike by myself. And, with advice (and new spokes) from Mike, I succeeded.Of course, I still needed a pro hand at dishing and truing up my wheel. Which was done by Mike. Its perfect! Runs like its supposed to. Which is all I can ask. Thanks
Mike was super helpful and quickly replaced 2 spokes for me. Highly recommend!
I love this place! Mike is a wealth of info and has been very helpful to me. This is the only place I will go for repairs. I always learn something as well.
Mike is the best. Quickly repaired my tire and gave great directions for efficiently getting to the Golden Gate Bridge. Everything you’d want in a bike shop.
Very cool little shop with more history on the walls than most museums. Some day I hope Im Mike; that guy knows crazy amounts about obscure corners of the bike world. Lovely local gem!
Old school bicycle repair. No B.S. Just does it right the first timeNo sales pitch.
Mike is a great guy, super knowledgeable with excellent prices, especially on prior model years.
Charges my ex-girlfriend less, but always reliable and a nice guy to chat with. Hes a native. Rare breed.
Great place
