I saw a vehicle, moments after the dealership posted it online. I contacted them and they advised It just came inI told the sales person I am coming in and would like to buy the vehicle even though there were no photos posted yet, and after he advised, he saw it, it was extra clean super low mileage. He would get it ready.I later asked for photos, because the online description was legit, and it was at a reputible VW dealership .I later asked in a text, could it be a CPO, and was told its not needed, the miles were so low and your should have no issues, 8mo, 25k mi left on factory warranty ( 2017 VW CC, Black Carbon Edition less than 20k mi. Kind of rare, and nice vehicle) I said ok and advised my well cared for VW CC was just rear ended and totaled, this was a perfect replacement. The sales person called me back later at 9pm, notifying he didnt have pictures but checked out the car and noted it was really loud when he checked it for me. Per him, It had an aftermarket exhaust I said OK, Ill be there after work the following day. He says See you tomorrow.Drive there from OC arrive at 6pm, already had been pre-approved for veh finance from my bank and a hefty down payment if needed. Salesman was not there when I arrived and I called him. He answers, says he did not come into work today and then refers me to someone else. This guy, different salesman doesnt know apparantly wasnt briefed... has me waiting 25-30 min. while searching for car, then 15 min more looking for keys. I anticipate 1st salesman set the keys aside...after all, he called the night prior at 9pm to tell me, how clean it was and about the loud sound of the exhaust..and See you tomorrow. I then said I would text when on the way from work. This new salesman then walks me out to the back of the lot, amongst used dirty, damaged vehicles and Im allowed to look at it from the outside and take pictures. It wasnt opened. He does not have the keys.I advised that my bank needs the VIN number as they were prepared to finance the vehicle and needed the purchase order. Salesman advise as I can take a photo and points out the VIN for me. I take several pictures of the car. The salesman walks me back inside and tells me to have a seat. I wait another additional 20 minutes for the salesman to come back.He advises that he will be there Thursday evening and Friday and that he would get the vehicle ready and the car keys are in the service dept, its locked. This leads me to today, Thursday after work. I call to check to see if the vehicle is prepped and if they have the keys etc. Im told they sold the vehicle when I was there or before I arrived.Well, not the best experience when trying to buy a car. After all the 1st guy knew I was driving there after work, because he called me at 9pm the night prior, telling me about the exhaust and See you tomorrow, expecting to see me.Anyway, this is just my experience. This may be and and okay dealership, the first guy didnt indicate he wouldnt come in that day, I dont really fault him for that, life happens... but my experience in trying to purchase a vehicle from them, without trying to haggle, pay full asking, wasnt a good one. (BTW, willing to pay full price$$$, because of the not-at-fault collision)Maybe if another rare-ish VW CC shows up, they can set it aside for me and redeem this experience.(Hint, good - great condition VWCC Vr6-4motion)New owner, Good luck with your new vehicle, hope you have no issues with the exhaust system.LWSee photos
Very upsetting experience. While you are greeted warmly, this is not coupled with professionalism. They showed a clear disregard for ones time and the effort required to take your car in right before work. After leaving the car at the dealership at opening to get my brakes inspected, I showed up right before closing and was informed that no work had been done to my car. Not sure how they get away with this type of service. Upsetting to think about how often they make customers wait around for a day just to be informed no work was done on their vehicle. Would not advise visiting this dealership.
Service Dept.: I made an appointment for a service several days in advance. I was sick on the day, so my parents dropped my car off at 11 a.m. and came back at 5:30 p.m. to pick it up and the crew at Volkswagen Santa Monica simply...didnt do it. Never even started! Nor did they contact me to tell me they were unable to do it. Staff were completely unapologetic, stating thats just how it is. Thank you for blissfully wasting hours of two decent older peoples time, jerks!
Good lucking trying to call and get service get put on hold to get sent to voicemail. For the voicemail to be full what a joke. The service department must hate making money.
Very poorly managed service department. Communication is non-existent. I made an appointment for annual service. When I arrived I had to wait 20 min just for them to receive the vehicle. I was told that the wait would be 1 hr when I made the appointment and that I would be able to wait while the service was performed. When I dropped off the car I was told 1.5-2 hrs. From arrival to departure, it took over 3.5 hrs.
The ID.4 was quite nice. Paloma was quite nice, as was the woman who worked next to her. Pants game was 🔥.
Terrible set up - do not buy a car from this dealer. They out right lied a number of times during selling me a car. One good example, this is the last day of the sale - the next day, cars were discounted even further.
I had the most unprofessional experience with this dealership. A sales lady by the name of Bridget texted me at 6:30 am to let me know a car that I had previously come in for that they did not have had arrived that morning. I was initially happy she reached out to me. We worked out a deal over the phone and I offered to come to the dealership in the morning to get all paperwork taken care of and pick up the car. She told me the vehicle wouldnt be ready until 2 pm and assured me it wasnt necessary to come in until then. The dealership calls me later that morning to confirm my 2 pm appointment. After having worked out a deal and being rushed to make my decision on it she said we had a deal. 30 mins before getting to the dealership she texts me to say they sold the vehicle to a walk in. Disappointing and just outright UNPROFESSIONAL. I understand that there are walk-ins at dealerships and that they may take priority. However, to have rushed me into making a decision because she said someone else was interested in the car and then to tell me we had a deal and then 30 mins before getting to the dealership tell me they sold it to another person. Shame on you! I just cant get over how unprofessional this whole experience has been and how extremely inconsiderate and rude. I am not one to regularly write bad reviews but this just had to be shared. I would have not felt this way if the salesperson had just been transparent and had not been misleading. This type of service is just NOT OK.
Their service department doesn’t care about your car at all while fixing it. They use rough tools that will leave visible & permanent marks on plastic parts, whenever they take something apart. They also scratched the touchscreen in my car somehow, and I had to contact VW of America to get it replaced. I’ll definitely never be taking my car here again. Go to the one in Downtown Los Angeles, Glendale, or Woodland Hills instead.
Having driven VWs on and off for over a decade, Ive had more than a few interactions with this dealership. Not sure if its just bad luck, but some of those interactions have been pretty bad. 6 or so years ago they tried to overcharge me when I decided to buy out a lease even though the terms were spelled out in the contract, which I actually read. Three or so years ago they refused to honor a deal on their website (the dealership website), which happens every so often, but they made me wait over 2 hours before deciding to tell me. Last is their service dept. Its always been slow and overpriced.
Experience overall was not good at all. I am not going to get negative but this place needs to improve in many ways.
VW DTLA is much much better. Santa Monica didnt bother to call me to tell me they couldnt do a standard service on my car. When I arrived the next morning to pick up the car no work had been done and I was told there was only 1 mechanic available and they were overbooked by 200 cars. I didnt bother to get mad at the lady as 2 people ahead of me had already laid into her for VW not calling them either... total cluster you know what...
Paloma was amazing and Nima was fabulous getting us approved. Great communication throughout the buying process. They made buying a car so enjoyable in comparison to the other dealerships we had tried to work with for the two weeks prior. We came from Arizona to buy from them and will be back the next time we are in the market for a vehicle. Fast and efficient and got us into the car we wanted.
Bought my 2022 Taos SEL from VW Santa Monica and was highly impressed with the service. Jordan, my sales rep, was very courteous and kind, and completed the sale quickly. I will definitely recommend this dealership to my friends!
Awful service department. Has taken 4 weeks of “miscommunication between departments” and “accidentally ordering the wrong part” and my simple task of programming a new key is STILL NOT DONE. I was called TODAY and told to come in cause the car was ready and when I arrived was told it was still not done and I’d have to schedule another appointment. Rather than take responsibility and get the job done they continue to make excuses and blame others. Their cluelessness has cost me hundreds of dollars.
Easy to get to, had to wait 40 minutes just to drop off my car for a scheduled appointment where I was leaving it. They did get me an uber to work, but I was late when I got there. Then when I came back they had another customer screaming at a teller, clearly she was also not fully satisfied. Then they told me they dont wash the cars after they are in them... to save water. They have no problem with getting in and moving the mirrors and seats, but they did change my oil! All that being said, for $110 oil change you could at least tell me the brake pad levels and tire pressure levels so I know where I stand. For this level of service I will just go to jiffy lube next time and save $100.
I had a simple oil change done and the incompetent mechanic didnt tighten down 4 bolts. The shield under the car came down when I was 300 plus miles away from home. Now they dont even have the Integrity to return my calls.
***service dept only*** I made an appointment (like I had my own time slot) I showed up 10 min early - there were 6/7 cars in front of me and total chaos (it seemed) I finally got someone to talk to me after asking the outside dude, then going inside and then talking with another person outside. I was told it would be 15/20 min ... then when I finally got the person who was checking people in I was told it was going to be 2 to 2.5 hours for an oil change for the appointment I booked. Who has two hours for an oil change and why would an oil change even take two hours?? They explained they were understaffed and people were on vacation. I told them if you know people are on vacation, why dont you cut the number of appointments you make available online?? Long story short - VWs are difficult to service and they got you right where they want you. Please consider this when buying a VW - you may have to wait 2-3 hours for an oil change here. I cant imagine what will happen if I ever need an actual repair - 2 weeks, 2 months ?? I have no idea
I brought my car in for service today and they are so unorganized!First of all, I came in 7:30am with an appointment to drop off my car and was told my car would be ready within 4 hours so I decided to wait.At 4pm, that’s 9 hours of waiting, no one contacted me even though they promised they would. I called and they told me the car was actually ready hours ago. I asked the women over the phone why didn’t I get notified, instead of giving me a simple apology, she said “yeah because we get more than 100 cars a day, that’s why.And you’ll need to come soon because we are closing.”🙄Second of all, when I arrived, they gave me the wrong form to sign and even brought me the wrong car. That’s just so unorganized as a service provider. Even though some staffs were friendly and talk nicely (that’s why the 2 stars), I don’t think I will bring my car back here ever again unless they sort things out and be more organized, or at least learn how to serve their customers.
Just wanted to test drive a car and they just kept wanting to call me and talk about it. Kept giving me the run around for a week and never scheduled anything.
Don’t bother making a reservation they don’t respect that.Came in for an oil change scheduled for 1:20pm was told I’ll need to leave my car over night because others showed up without an appointment and have to be serviced first. If you’re not going to respect the appointment method. Don’t use it.
Went for an oil change and they were quick and friendly. Thanks!
Tammy runs the show. Shes amazing. Only ask for her.
Probably the best car buying experience Ive had thus far. Santiago was an excellent salesman - personable, straightforward, and easy to work with. I did not at all feel pressured to buy a car, and was given the time needed to make my decision. I worked with Chris in the Financing department, and he was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions, many of which were quite specific. Overall, I am very happy with the service I received - VW of Santa Monica has certainly earned my business.
I cannot help but feel like I was overcharged for service by 💯. This breaks my heart. I wish dealer service pricing didnt feel like a bath. It just makes me think what ever they are charging like going into the hospital. It could be done for at least 1/2 the amount they are going to charge me. Its the American way now. The grift. Its depressing.
Every time I come here for service they go above and beyond. The staff is friendly, understanding and straightforward with car service.I really cant thank this place enough for all the help they have given me with my GTI. Every situation is different but its nice to have real people to work with who look out for you and your car.
Good service, although a bit too slow and making an appointment doesnt make a difference. Also, when youre dropping off the car no one comes to greet you or instruct you on what to do for at least 10 minutes. My service agent Peyman made up for some of the poor experience by being attentive and considerate about my needs.
Bridget Stennis made the whole experience of choosing and purchasing a new car a quick and painless process. She made certain everything, especially the financial terms were to our liking, and clearly explained.Volkswagen Santa Monicas attention to detail and courteousness is not the sole provenance of the sales team, but can be found in their parts and service departments as well. You know that both you and your car will receive the very best care as soon as you enter the dealership.
15min wait to drop of car for service, 4h for oil change with appointment. Horrible!
Best Dealer I Have Ever Done Business WithSpecial thanks to Paloma (my sales rep) and to the General Manager who has been working at the location for more than 10 years for a reason.Experience through some dealers when looking for a car might go wrong. Some lie a lot, some are very pushy, some cant keep their promise and etc. At the end, we all know most of the dealers are last group of people we wanna do business with.Surprisingly my experience with SM VW was awesome. They were super nice, kind, not pushy, kept their promise, accepted CC payments, didnt make bothering phone calls, responded my texts on time. They even gave me a loaner during 4-5hr repair time without I asked for one. This is the type of dealer I would definitely come back for a newer car in the future. Again, thanks Paloma.
Bridget Stennis made the whole experience of choosing and purchasing a new car a quick and painless process. She made certain everything, especially the financial terms were to our liking, and clearly explained.I first encountered Volkswagen Santa Monicas exemplary attention to detail in 2011, so on our return to Los Angeles after six years away in New York, they were automatically our first stop for the purchase of our car. You should definitely make them yours.
My wife and I went through our first car purchase here with their saleswoman Bridget. The whole process was so easy and friendly and painless. Bridget was an absolute joy to work with and she was very kind and helped us through every step of the way. We are so glad it went so well and theyve set the standard for us for buying cars in the future.
The manger of this branch is an Asian man, I don’t know his name, but he wears suits that are too big for him a few sizes and he needs to check his attitude at the door when he goes to work. I leased car from them but there was a error on the paper work and he came, without even acknowledging my presence, slammed on the keyboard to fix it, did a big annoyed heavy breathing from his nostrils and left the office without saying one word. If I had not signed the papers already I would have canceled the deal. Dogs are treated better at the pound than this.
The service department was remarkably fast but the service charges to install a battery and to add some AdBlue to my vehicles AdBlue tank is ridiculously over the top. I was charged 84 dollars to have my cars battery installed. I wouldve rather had them hand me the battery and I couldve installed it myself. I was charged nearly 20 dollars to have someone poor some AdBlue into the AdBlue tank. Thats like paying 20 dollars to have someone pump your gas. I think the service department is very efficient but to charge those kinds of prices to pour some fluid into a tank and install a car battery is ridiculous.
When I needed the service department, there are no where to found.
We bought my daughters 2009 VW EOS used from Santa Monica VW .After 1 year and only a few thousand miles the car began breaking down. Small issues at first then after thousands of dollars chasing overheating, stalls on the freeway and a faulty passenger side airbag, we gave up on this vehicle as the bills were more than the car was worth. Needless to say, Santa Monica VW kept taking the car in and charging the $180 for diagnostics, while the same issues continued to pop up again and again. Bottom line, VW of America and Santa Monica VW did absolutely nothing for us except continue to charge the credit card! I will never buy another VW and certainly never darken the door of this dealership again. If you value honesty and integrity I strongly recommend you go somewhere else!
Hola Hola !!! VolksWagen Santa Monica made my day this past Sunday !The story starts when a couple of weeks ago I stopped by to check if I was able to trade my Jetta Sport for a Eos Convertible. Brian Demoy was who helped me and he was very cool and understanding about what exactly I wanted. I gave him my information and walked out very hopeful. A few long days passed by and while being happy with my Jetta driving around I thought they probably forgot about me ... and I continued with my day only to know that two days after that I received a phone call from Brian Demoy about having the Eos at the dealer waiting for me. I immediately jumped of happiness and was schedule to go and have a Sunday Funday at the Volkswagen Santa Monica - The Best Place - to spend your day!. I was there a bit early and right away after parking my beautiful Jetta I walked to my more beautiful Eos Convertible. Brain Demoy was not there yet and when I walked in to the dealer I was so happy that I started to hug everyone good morning and happy Sunday :). While doing that I met Andrew Morais who started to help me while we were waiting for Brian Demoy. We tested drive my new AweSome car around the block and when we arrived Brian Demoy was the kindness coming to help me/us and I ended up having the best service from him and Andrew Morais, all together they make such a GREAT TEAM. Brian Demoy and Andrew Morais were kind, sincere, great sales agents and so helpful in making my experience great and fun. Also I must said that they were very patient with me and always making sure everything for me was clear and that I was understanding step by step the whole process of the sale/trade. Then I met Chandler Rabens such a sweet finance Bonita !!! She was who gave more magic to my exciting experience in explaining me how lucky I am by being the new owner of a Volkswagen Eos Convertible
Brought Tiguan for service. Phone appointment 0915 was a breeze. Peyman helped me at service department. He was pleasant, personable & efficient. He provided me an Uber ride for home instead of waiting. He called me for 11am as vehicle ready.
Paloma at SM VW just guided my girlfriend and I through getting a new jetta together. Working with Paloma was an absolute pleasure. She made the entire process as smooth and easy and stress free as getting a new car possibly can be. She is a total pro, very respectful, and in no way “salesy.” We love our new car and will definitely go back to VW SM for future cars as well. Highly highly recommend Paloma for anyone looking for a new car and a truly great salesperson.
Luke was so nice and took care of everything that I need. I think he represents the highest quality of service for VW.
I worked with Paloma and, have to say, it was an absolute treat. You are all lucky to have her on your team!
What an awesome experience! From start to finish it couldnt have been better. Anything Lynn Williams could do to make our exerience an easy one, he did immediately. He provided quality and skillful service. Fast, friendly, no-nonsense. Hands down the best car buying experience weve ever had.I was interested in buying a pre-owned Tiguan and he sent specs on all the available ones... the whole process was handled via text and email. When we chose the exact car we wanted Tammer in financing was efficient and invaluable. Tammy Weaver, the manager, equally so.Finally, Lynn even DELIVERED the car (and the paperwork) to us, with a bow on top, I might add!!!Well be back and we will be sending our friends.
Great service, quick oil change with friendly seremployees
Good place.
I love my dealership. Professional and very courteous.
I came to the dealership 11:30, Vanessa greeted us and helped us out. Loved it. But to a certain extent. She first lost the key to the other car in storage so we couldn’t get our car because there were like five cars infront of it ( very unprofessional of them), it took roughly about an hour or so to find it. And then paper were signed. Then we were told to the car would BE READY in one hour, which much inspected, detailed, and all that good stuff. We went to go get lunch and it took us about one hour and thirty mins. When we came back we were told to wait another hour. She lied. It had been about two hours and she kept telling us 40 mins to one hour. They wasted our time. They we very unprofessional, never been too a dealership that was this unprofessional.
Dropped off my car at 10am ready by 4pm. Simple and friendly.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Bridget Stennis for her commitment, dedication and especially her perseverance in letting me know that I was going to be taken care of. Two days prior to coming in, I had been in a near-fatal car accident and almost lost my life. I wasnt mentally or financially prepared to purchase a vehicle. But Bridget assured me I would get the best deal for what I could afford. And boy, did she. WOW! She made it happen. Assisting her was Trish McCall, and let me just say this, Im a grown-ass man but when faced with your own mortality, it humbles you in ways you may never know until happens to you... So, grown-ass me, walking into the dealership feeling uninformed, unprepared, and apprehensive about going up against a salesperson was scary. Trish instantly made me feel at ease and was an angel, exceptional in talking me off the ledge. Being with her was like popping a XANAX. (prescribed naturally) I felt calm and fortified enough that I would make the right car buying decision.I would like to acknowledge Volkswagen Santa Monica for your outstanding dedication to customer care....It is nice to know that Volkswagen Santa Monica, with its dedication to their customers, is there to stand by their unquestionable devotion to quality and professional service. I want to thank Bridget and Trish again for being so amazingly helpful in finding the right car for me. Its perfect, and Im ridin in style.
I’ve never had so much fun buying a car as I did at Santa Monica Volkswagen with Marisa and Robby! Thank you for all your expertise and the pleasant experience. I highly recommend it to everyone!
Oh my god I dont know if I have enough space to tell you how awesome it is buying a VW here, but let me try.I had emailed Jett about leasing an e-Golf several years ago, but after doing some more research on charging time and the limited range, I decided to wait. Well, it was time with the 2017 SE having 125 miles in range now, and coming standard with a faster onboard charger.I emailed Jett back and told her I was ready now, but this time for two e-Golfs. She got back to me very quickly with numbers on two, and I was shocked. I had gotten some numbers from other dealers in Southern California and no one could come close to Santa Monicas numbers, or their inventory. Jett was able to get any color I wanted, with any options. The other amazing thing about Jett, and Santa Monica VW is that I was never once pressured to come in. Jett was more than happy to deal over email, and she never called me unless she asked, or if I asked her to. And I never got any calls from her sales manager, unlike other dealers in the area. When I had finally finished my research and I realized that the deal they were offering was too good to pass up, Jett was kind enough to come in early on a Saturday so that my mom and I could get out of their on time to get back to work. She even stuck around all day for me to come back and get the second car. She was beyond awesome. And the finance manager who handled both mine and my moms deal was the best I have ever seen. He NEVER pressured us into any of the extras. He did his due diligence and went over all of the options, and answered any and all questions we had. And when doing the second car he didnt even try and sell the options again, he respected us both and did not try and do a hard sell. I was, and am, beyond thrilled.Thank you so much Jett, and the rest of the great staff at Santa Monica VW, my mom and I love our new e-Golfs, and we honestly cant wait to come back and make more incredible deals!
The folks there are extremely nice and professional. Totally different than initially imagined (a bunch of pushy sales people that try to make you buy what you dont want). Special thanks to Inez and Paloma for being such lovely and helpful hosts. Got there around noon and left with the car in the same day. Thanks once more folks. Definitely recommend
Inez Carrillo & Team deliver a fabulous experience. Extremely professional, caring, straight forward, and no “run around”. From the time I entered the dealership I was greeted with a smile and my needs were communicated and exceeded. If you want to be treated like you are #1 then check in with Inez for an incomparable visit & a fantastic ride.
Consistently good. Work done efficiently, as promised and on time.
I left with a new car yesterday.Excellent experience with the sales manager (Tammy) and salesman (Ramin).Direct communication, honest and professional.I have purchased several cars in my lifetime and by far this was the easiest process ever.
Good afternoon Volkswagen Santa Monica,I’m not a big review guy, but the experience i had with your service center really makes me want to write it.My brother and I brought our Golfs to your center for the past 3 years, it has always been great, but the attention you guys brought to my GTI for all the issues it had recently was just amazing.I had to bring the car for a big maintenance, weird noise in the front wheel and after that the battery died the next week. From A to Z, the service advisors Luke Young and Eric Goodrich took care of me and really helped me get everything solved on the most convenient, efficient and economical way for me.I really appreciate being treated like that. Not every business has this type of ethics, honesty and recognition for their customers, but you guys do.Good job Volkswagen, and thank you very much to the nice lady that welcomed me each time, Eric, Luke and the team that worked on my car !You have my loyalty as a customer.Pierre
Thank you Aaron DeSouza for helping me with my recent car purchase. The whole VW Santa Monica team was great. I love my new Jetta
My visit to Santa Monica Volkswagen was very pleasant. I dont normally go to dealerships because the minute you step on the lot, the salesmen are all over you. They are over aggressive. Basically they chase you off the lot.My salesman Mark Shapiro wasnt that way. He introduced him self and offered to help me find anything or answer any questions. He opened cars for me and answered my questions without pressing the sale. He also helped by pointing out extra features on the car. Mark was always positive with his attitude towards me and the product. Because of Marks assistance and follow up, I made the purchase I was looking at.Mark of EXCELLENT for Mr Shapiro. Thanks Mark for all your help.
Trish was extremely pleasant to work with. Sweet, patient, communicated well and not your typical “pushy salesman.” Edwin was also very helpful with the initial communication. In LOVE with my GLI Autobahn!
Quick and reliable service. Employees totally professional, no gimmicks, hidden fees or anything unnecessary. I can recommend this place for service.
Lynn Williams and the whole team provided a great customer service. Lynn called me a couple of times in the past few weeks to draw my attention to their current promotions. He did his work very well, he was always very kind and polite, I never felt he was being pushy. And this made us go and meet him in person and we ended up leaving with a new car😀 Great guy, great customer service! Well done and thank you again! Highly recommended!
Nice people, fast service (as afforded by the current conditions)
I didnt buy my Jetta at this location, but I did ultilize the Service Department for a minor issue. I received excellent service! I plan to return!
Had a great service visit recently. Luke Young did great job explaining everything and calling me when everything was done. And even helped me with removing roof racks with no extra charge (since I lost keys).
Couldnt drive car right after purchase as well as they took my address wrong and now I cant my plates. I have to waist my time at the dmv to try to get them.horrible serviceI feel sorry I have to deal with them for the next couple of years
My daughter is a college student in Los Angeles (I am in San Jose) and drives a Beetle. She had a flat tire, on a Friday late in the afternoon of course, and the others were worn enough to warrant replacement. I did not feel comfortable sending her to just any tire shop as I am unfamiliar with the area, so made an appointment to bring the car to Volkswagen of Santa Monica after speaking with Tim, who made room for us on Saturday morning in spite of a fully booked schedule.Saturday morning, I received a call from Odell Hadley. My daughter was dropping off the car and he wanted to be clear about what tires we wanted after speaking with her and sensing some uncertainty. He conducted himself in a professional manner, providing me with all of the options, prices and warranty information. More surprising was that Odell spoke to me as one father to another, giving me assurance that I need not be concerned that our 20 year old daughter, who knows nothing about cars, would be pressured into making uninformed decisions. It was as if I had a relative there on staff making sure that everything was being done as it should be, and was a warm and generous gesture on his part. I was even given the option of having the invoice emailed to me so that I could review and pay it online. On top of the excellent service, the prices were very competitive. My wife and I could not be more pleased.Highly recommended.Gregory JohnsonSan Jose
Best experience Ive had at a dealership! Everyone here is welcoming and helpful
Service Department is 0/5, not sure about Sales.Their warranty is good for 1 year / 10k miles ... be ready to see them in 1.5 years and/or 11k miles!
Great options, great team. Thanks!!!
Many dealerships, if not all are known for being very aggressive when trying to search for a good car. For my experience, they were friendly and not aggressive from the start, to the end. Staff was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with, without feeling pressured throughout the process. I walked with a great car, and would likely go back again when the time is right.
BUYER BEWARE: I was blatantly lied to by the sales manager about the condition of the certified preowned VW I bought at this dealership in March. They told me that what appeared to be rust on all four wheels was just dirt, and then admitted after selling me the car that it was in fact rust. First off, why does a VW certified preowned car have rust in the first place? This is red flag number one at this dealership. I wanted to return the car the next day, once it was confirmed they lied to me about the condition of the vehicle. VW North America has since admitted to me that they should have done the right thing and let me replace it with something else, but instead VW Santa Monica put up all kinds of resistance and told me there is nothing I can do about it...These people will lie as much as possible to sell a car, and not think twice about it, and it starts with upper management. The GM, Tammy Weaver, could not care less when she was made aware of the unethical sales practices of her sales manager, Paul. The culture at this dealership is to make the sale at any cost, and if youre considering buying a VW, please do yourself a favor and go to another VW dealership. This location does not understand the value of doing business the right way, or care about the reputational cost of their sales malpractice.Carpe Diem at this dealership means: we are going to lie to your face to sell a car, and there is nothing you can do about it.FYI: I have been a loyal VW customer for over a decade and they still didnt think twice about screwing me over.*I have already reported them to the Better Business Bureau, VW North America, and will continue getting this message out to anyone considering buying at this dealership.
Bridget made the purchasing of our car smooth and easy. Staff was friendly. Great overall experience, no nonsense dealer. Made sure we were well taken care of the whole time.
I went for my 20,000 mile service call and it couldnt have been smoother. Odell Hadley was my technician and he was courteous, professional and efficient. He gave me an accurate time for the duration of service, which I really appreciated. All in all, no surprises.
I have just purchased my second vehicle from VW Santa Monica. The first experience in 2018 was great, and this one was also fantastic! The salesman, Santiago who helped me secure the vehicle was incredibly helpful and found exactly what I was after, which was hard given restrictions due to COVID. The protocols they have in place due to COVID also were very appreciated, keeping everyone as safe as possible! If you’re after a VW hit up Santiago.
These folks were incredible to work with. Everyone I encountered was extremely approachable and pleasant and they really took note of what I wanted and needed in my new vehicle. Id highly recommend checking them out, and working with Andrew M and Tamer is specifically recommended!
Odell Hadley was my service representative. He was energetic, personable and knowledgable. From the moment I walked in I felt I was in the best hands. Even though I was missing some paperwork Odell did not make me feel like I caused him any hassle. He was quick to figure out a workaround. I did not know if my repairs were going to be covered under warranty. After listening to my explanation, Odell assured me that he would do his best to get them covered AND HE DELIVERED!.Odell was conscientious and followed up later that same day to provide me with a status update. Even though the dealer needed to keep my car overnight and didnt have a loaner for me to drive, I didnt mind b/c I knew Odell was on the case. When my car was ready Odell called twice before reaching me to provide me with an update - my car was ready. Oh by the way - I am in Miami for a business trip, I said.Dont worry, your car will be ready when you return. And, it was.
We brought our car in for the 30k tune up and Matt Bell was phenomenal from start to finish. Midway through the service they found an oil leak. He did a great job of keeping me informed on cost and time. I was never concerned. All together it was an exceptional experience and we thank Matt for taking care of us. He should be recognized for his great work and customer service - it’s rare in Los Angeles.
I was first impressed with the speed and courtesy of scheduling an appointment. I am a current VW owner and believe in the brand. When I saw the reviews I was excited to come to the dealership. I was looking for a CPO VW. Test drove a great golf. Then said I have a trade in that was in an accident. I asked should I sell it and come back or would they look for a trade in. The sales persons tone changed with me when I asked. She did look for someone that I could talk to. I was told to that I should plan to work something out with them. So I sent them info. 2 days later I still havent heard anything back. I get it that they may not want it. So tell me and encourage me to still come back when I am ready to buy. The communication was poor once it must have looked a little complicated.I am in sales, I have read Joe Girards book on selling. The opportunity was missed with me. Ive selling my current car and will not come here when I am ready to buy. In sales you say thanks stay in touch and lets try and work together in the future. For all the great feedback on these reviews I was really surprised.
Great customer service, they gave me a great deal on my GTI couldnt happier with my lease from them. I cant wait till MK8 drops so I can upgrade
I will always return to VW Santa Monica for service. They have always gone above and beyond, clearly explaining everything with no hidden agenda or charges. Excellent customer service as well. My latest maintenance repair was rather unexpected, and they couldnt have been more accommodating. When I am ready to purchase again, I would not hesitate to come here as well.
5 stars strongly agree and then some. Our sales rep Lynn Williams, was professional and pleasant to deal with. He helped us get the best price to fit our budget and livelihood. The best car buying experience I have ever had, quick and easy. You are amazing! THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR SERVICE!
Willie Rockett is an EXCEPTIONAL service representative! He was so friendly, helpful and got me in and out of there during car check-in, which is always a daunting and time consuming task. He followed up at multiple points throughout the day to let me know where my car was at and was very flexible with my need to come and get it at the end of the day. I can only hope all of my service trips are with Willie as he makes it a breeze!
Recently went on several test drives here and at a few other dealerships in the area, this was by far our best experience. We worked with Lynn Williams who was knowledgable and really listened to our needs. We went on a couple of test drives where we took the car on the highway which other dealerships did not let us do.We ultimately went with another car model, but will definitely go here for our next car and work with Lynn. Lots were well organized, lots of cars available in various trims, Lynn knew the nuances between trims and models really well which was helpful.
Had a wonderful experience at the dealership for a new car. I visited a few VW dealerships before and this was the first that was honest and so very helpful. Alex listened to all my concerns and was able to address them. I wanted a very specific color scheme and Alex made it happen within a week. Love my new car!!!
Carlos Fuentes took care of me at Volkswagen of Santa Monica on Monday, 3/19. He was super engaging, professional, and helpful. Carlos made sure that I knew what they would be doing to service my car and provided alternatives to better the operation, but did so without pressure to do so.
Loved working with Moe. It was a great process getting my Jetta. I highly recommend Moes services. Im also looking forward to my continued relationship over the next few years :)
I worked with Bridgette Richard in purchasing my new vehicle. I can honestly said that I was depressed that I had to purchase another vehicle as a result of an automobile accident I obviously didnt anticipate. Nevertheless, when I closed my deal with Bridgette I was honestly very happy and when I got home, so was my wife. I cant wait to express my appreciation with my first new client referral. Thank you Bridgette, Fred.
Amazing! Instead of solving an issue, the business just deletes the comments from customers that they dont like to hear.
This is a review for the service center only. Emerson Molina was very helpful and communicated with me excellently. I only needed a regular service so wouldnt expect any issues but it was clear that Emerson Molina was very knowledgeable and he gave me some useful advice for general maintenance and also a specific minor issue with my vehicle.
My unscheduled service arrival was greeted with pleasure and efficiency. Matt Bell kept in touch with me throughout the time my car was in service and was there when I picked up my car to answer any questions/concerns I might have had. I tend to take it for granted because its always so seamless when I bring my car in, so I wanted to acknowledge him and the team at SM VW here!
I came here for 50,000 mile services and replacing air filters. This time Ryan Maldonado helped me. He was very friendly to talk and also knowledgeable. Of course, he gave me the best service with checking up all details what I was really concerned about. Highly recommended !!
Mr. Omar Hadley ensured my trip to the dealer was meaningful and not at all a waste. He was efficient not only in ensuring that my car was seen and that it was diagnosed properly. He also ensured that I was able to get an adequate rental and was just overall knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process
A great dealership experience. Made an appointment to come in and they were waiting for me when I arrived. Lynn was very friendly, showed us the car immediately and was very helpful. Sam in the finance department was super helpful as well. All in all a pleasant experience, they got us out as quick as possible, and very friendly!
I had to deal with the service department for a customer of mine. I ended up speaking to many people in the service department through the process. Paynam, Kevin, Jose, the service manager(may have some mispellings). Every single person I spoke to went above and beyond expectations. Truly top notch service here.
