We love this place! The owners are amazing, friendly and generous! They brought cupcakes by for our first grade soccer practice and it was the sweetest thing. We can’t wait to visit their location and get more treats!

No doubt about it, these cupcakes are as delicious as they look! But the sweetest of the sweets were really the staff and owner at this tiny gem of a bakery, specializing in cupcakes and ice creamery. I went in with my kiddos to reward them with some cupcakes for good behavior this past week while their dad’s been away. Having made our selections and paid, we headed home to enjoy the treats. But just as we were at the car door, while trying to manage some very excited kids, the box slipped out of my hand...I was able to salvage all but one of the cakes but needless to say, our beautiful cupcakes weren’t so beautiful anymore. However, since the one that bit the dust was earmarked for one of the kids, back into the shop I went. I was happy to pay for the replacement but the lady behind the counter told her staff that there will be no charge. Furthermore, she came out to help me clean and sort out the remaining casualties in the box, 6 tousled cupcakes and frosting everywhere. Needless to say, I was a little frazzled and covered in frosting in no time, so this nice lady sent me to the shop’s bathroom to clean up and told me that she’ll handle the rest. What did I find when I came back out? A completely new box of perfectly decorated cupcakes! I was so shocked and offered to pay, but with a smile, she said, “we all have one of those days!” And sent me on my way, while wishing me a good day! So to this sweet lady, I’d like to send a heartfelt thank you. You made my day with your act of kindness and we will stop by whenever we’re in Scottsdale!

Awesome family-owned business. They were so helpful in getting my sisters gender reveal cupcake R2-D2 cake completed and it was absolutely phenomenal! Everyone was so happy with how tasty the cupcakes were. I came back and ordered more cupcakes for a friends birthday because the experience was so great the first time. They have my business!

Absolutely without a doubt the best bakery in Arizona!!!! For so long we would just go to Nothing Bundt Cakes and they were always so so! We are from Chicago and never found a good bakery in the 9 years we lived here. I took a chance and called Small Cakes because I drove by their location. It is a family owned bakery and their son was so personable and a joy to work with. I ordered two cakes for my daughters 2nd birthday! Minnie Mouse themed! The cakes were just beautiful and everything I asked for and more! The attention to detail, colors, and decorating were unbelievable! They made quite the hit at the party! Bonus: every guest at the party could not believe how delicious the cake was and kept asking me where they were from. It’s hard to find a good cake that not only looks great but is moist and delicious! I am so happy I found small cakes and I will be returning without a doubt. I ordered this cake from the east coast before my trip to Scottsdale so I wasnt sure what to expect not having tried this company before. Smallcakes Cupcakery & Creamery nailed it! Everyone loved the cake and they exceeded my expectations on design. SO YUMMY!

Ice cream: Sampled strawberry, thin mint, and red velvet ice cream flavors. Strawberry is very fluffy in texture, mint is very good (better than most mints out there), red velvet is very good but very rich too. Waffle cone is tasty and fresh. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and patient (while sampling and deciding what flavor I was going to get). Would come here again. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I love trying cupcake shops and it seemed like this one would be great based on the reviews. However, the cupcakes were far from gourmet. The frosting tasted very artificial, worse than the cheap kind at the grocery store. The cake didn’t have much flavor. Really disappointed!

This place is great. My wife loves the cupcakes here because the frosting is thick and creamy. The staff are always courteous and helpful, they even went out of their way to do a last minute custom cupcake design for my wifes birthday!

This place is the best! I asked them to make 3 cakes for 3 birthdays on the same day. The cake was delicious and the frosting was creamy! And they did a GREAT job on my husbands custom cake! I would highly recommend this family owned business!

This bakery team is awesome! I had a short notice request to have cake pops made for a gender reveal and they went out of their way to make sure it worked out for me. I am so grateful for how accommodating and kind they were with timing of my order which made the big announcement day work perfectly. My wife and I traveled out to this Smallcakes from the west valley as we heard from many of our friends that this was the place to get dessert! High expectations. We walked in and everything was spotless. The staff was welcoming and helpful (even met the owner). My wife loves anything Red Velvet and I am always a fan of Cookies and Cream.Our expectations were exceeded.Fantastic place and cant wait to go back! If you havent already, check them out!

My wife and I prefer cup cakes that are dense and moist which is exactly what we got at Smallcakes. I ordered 4 different cup cakes and every one was excellent. We have tried several other bakers in town and and usually get dry crumbly cake which I dont prefer. Will definitely be a repeat customer! Thanks

Not worth the money. Very disappointed with the taste, texture, and price. The cupcakes are so moist they fall into crumbs as you try to eat them. You end up eating about half and the other half is crumbs on your plate. The frosting was disgusting. It tasted like sugar and chemicals. We scraped it off. We wont be returning.

This bakery came to my rescue when I was visiting from out-of-state. I needed 7 dozen cupcakes for a wedding the next day and they were able to make them for us in about 5 hours. They were made to order and were exceptionally delicious. Thank you so much for saving the day!

We realized that we didnt order my sons birthday cake the night before his birthday party. I tried going to the local grocery stores and all they had were Halloween cakes and little kid stuff. I called Smallcakes as we had used them for my daughters birthday. It was Sunday morning at 9:30 and even though they dont open till noon on Sunday, they saved the day! They made the cakes, decorated them and had them ready at 10:30. Everyone loved the cakes and we even got to the party at D&B on time.Thank you!!!!!

Oh man, is this place good!!! Really great frosting, smooth and creamy and sweet. Gluten free cupcake is really nice as well ..and they make their own icecream. Try the carrot cake ice cream..it is amazing!!! If you buy 6 cupcakes for $20, you get one free.

These cupcakes are delicious! (If you like red velvet it will not disappoint) I had a good customer I wanted to bring an appreciation gift to and they made custom color frosting for the order and it honestly turned out 1000 times better than I would have imagined. The attention to detail and accents that I didnt even ask for impressed me especially. Such genuine and quality people with a high quality cupcake to offer. Plus they have even more treats and cakes they offer!

Walked in to order a cake with a mask on. . Man at register had no mask, did not change gloves from customer before. They did not require distancing. I asked if they wear masks. His response “ we are not required to”. Not good for a business providing food to the public. Buyer beware of this location

I ordered a cupcake cake that was supposed to resemble a ford logo for my brothers graduation. Graduating from a ford mechanics school. I could not be more than disappointed. The cake looked like something I could make in my own kitchen in less than an hour. After leaving small cakes I called to let them know how disappointed I was. They were nice on the phone and let me know how sorry they were that it was not to my satisfaction. After being offered 50% off the cake I was a little less upset. Keep in mind 20 cupcakes cost me about $100. Then once I got home, the real frustration set in. I tasted one of the cupcakes. The cupcake was nothing special. I asked for strawberry filling and it was filled with a very unappetizing gelatinous artificial strawberry flavored filling. For $100 for 20 cupcakes I expect beautiful and delicious cupcakes and these were anything but that. I will not be returning to Smallcakes because it was very clear that they did not care about the presentation of this cake.

Just ordered a custom cake from them for my sisters anniversary and it was beautiful and really delicious! Its hard to find both in a cake, usually the ones that look really nice dont taste that good but this was moist and fluffy and the buttercream was also really good. Only reason its not 5 stars is because they gave me the wrong filling but it was still good.

We have been here over a dozen times, stopping in from Fountain Hills when were in the area. We have tried the other cupcake places, but this one edges them out. The flavor combinations are great, and the cupcakes are fresh. The employees are always pleasant. My wife and I highly recommend Smallcakes!

Went there this weekend looking for a birthday cake after being turned away from another bakery for short notice.This owner was more than gracious and helpful. She put a wonderful and delicious cake together for us within the day. Enjoying a slice right now as I write this. My family and I will never go elsewhere. Yum, yum, and oh yeah...yum. I would HIGHLY recommend their cookies n cream camels hump. It is one of the best ice cream desserts Ive ever had. You can tell the ice cream is homemade. The staff is super friendly and the store is very clean. Also, make sure to try their Gluten free cupcakes. They are another favorite of mine. If more people knew about this place, they would consistently have lines out the door. Im telling all my neighbors and friends. GO...you wont be disappointed.

Old School charm and high quality cakes you dont find anymore. Ive ordered cakes from this place and they are high quality, classic tastes and are presented great. Parking was tough but its well worth it. Also the prices are very affordable for the quality they put out.

I have had cupcakes from many different places and Smallcakes is without a doubt THE Best! The variety, the flavors and even the textures are amazing. The staff is so friendly and the place is sparkling clean. The only bad thing I can say is I have to pass by it daily on my drive to/from work, but thats not really a bad thing, is it :)

Individually boxed these cupcakes in a precious and presentable fashion! When we came to pick them up they loaded up for us and even gave us free chocolate and coffee! We werent pleased with our cake or cupcake cake. The details I asked for werent included in the cake at pick up and the person who took my order didnt write the details on the order. The overall taste wasnt good either way too sweet! We ordered red velvet for one cake and a chocolate vanilla mix for another and I couldnt tell the difference between the flavors it was just sweet with tons and tons of frosting. The pictures on the website are way more creative than what I came home with. Disappointed overall.

This was my second & last time visiting Smallcakes. I get a sense that the employees are racist. I’m a Black woman & I went into Smallcakes the selection was limited because it was a hour before closing. I was the only customer there. There were 2 employees (both Caucasian males) behind the counter one waiting at the register & one waiting for me to pick the cupcakes I wanted. I stared at the selection for about 3 mins asked some questions then decided & paid.A Caucasian couple walks in as I’m at the napkin station. They were trying to decide what flavors they wanted & the employee behind the counter immediately says “we have more flavors in the back if you don’t want these” I’m like w t f why didn’t he tell me they were more flavors in the back? The only difference between me & the couple was my skin color. I’ll never go back to their racist establishment.

I hardly ever leave Google reviews but this place is totally worth leaving a review. Their cupcakes are put of this world. The ice cream is spectacular. My girlfriend and I did a sweet bar hoppesque type tour of about 6 places in Scottsdale today with sweets and ended up back here where we were 4 days ago to have the real deal (we only got samples at the other places) and as it was before with the hot fudge sundae cupcake their strawberry lemonade can cupcake was spectacular.

So happy. I won a dozen cupcakes in a contest about a year ago. I misplaced the certificate & in recently moving & going thru some paperwork I found it. I went in today & asked if it was still valid & they honored it (even though it changed ownership). 1 dozen yummmmmmy cupcakes. I will be back. Thanks so much!

I’ve been to smallcakes in other states; they usually have music playing in the background etc. My best friend & I choose to take our cupcakes to-go because it was SO QUIET in this place it would have been AKWARD to eat here. The gentleman behind the counter was nice. It just woulda been akward if we sat and ate the cupcake there with the man behind the counter, and no music.Please play background music or something. This location is kind of depressing. But the cupcake was good.

First I want to say cupcakes wonderful flavor and enjoy variety . Ordered my daughters ASU graduation cake disappointed aa it was red frosting not maroon and yellow per ASU colors and top of cake empty with 3 decorations, sadly for the cost. Cake moist and tasted wonderful just not what I expected or ordered having seen other cakes decorated from there.
