Got my driver side window repaired. Guy was nice enough. But he was unable to get the window to roll up properly because of an catch sensor that was triggered when my window was broken, so now I am out 190$ and still need to take the truck into the dealer. The guy said You would have this issue with anyone (ie any glass repair service) but then proceeded to tell me he could fix it with an application on an iPad, if he had it. So in other terms, I should have gone somewhere else that had the capabilities to replace the glass and get it to roll up properly. I scheduled this through Gerber Collision and Glass and they sent this third party, so that was misleading for sure.update: Well, the issue was with the window’s auto rollup mechanism. When you would pull the switch to auto rollup the window it would go clear to the top and then automatically go down half way. It’s a protection so you don’t get your hand completely crushed by accident. With a quick google of the behavior I fixed the issue myself. No need to go into the dealer and no software/iPad required for the fix. I am not going to say don’t use these guys but seriously? It took me all of 15 minutes to troubleshoot this myself.
I was worried about my windshield replacement after reading the reviews here. I was pleasantly surprised about the experience. It was was quite smooth. Neil was professional, answered all the questions and replaced the windshield in less than an hour.
Let me start off by saying this review in no way is associated with Gerber as everyone there was delightful and helpful in every way humanly possible. To keep this short, my car was broken into in Ballard on February 18th. It took until today, March 17th to get it repaired EVEN THOUGH I called insurance hours after the incident. There were delays, mis-ordered parts, and as I found out today, they didnt even take the time to vacuum out the glass inside my door so now I have to live with what sounds like $100 in pennies rattling in my Brand new BMW. This was easily one of the worst customer service experiences in my life and I should have done some more research into this before choosing Glass America.
I had scheduled appointment for replacement of rear window glass for 01/06. Representative called me asking to reschedule because of family emergency for 2 of their technicians and did not give me any time in that week. Finally they scheduled appointment for Monday 01/11, 1 hr before the scheduled time of technician I got call from them that technician is falling behind and have to reschedule to 01/14. I asked for other times and they kept giving unreasonable excuses like there won’t be enough lights in the evening to perform the fix and can’t find any other time. This is the most unprofessional service I’ve ever received in my life. It’s not like we haven’t paid them. They already charged me for the replacement and not showing up on the door.
IF YOU SEE A 5 STAR THEY WORK THERE I called in response to a ad on line and I guess alot of people had problems out of the same guy he called and we talked and agreed he could run and do a few others when he called i just got up so he called and left my phone in the truck accidentally so I come back to fast paced bs a good bit on my voice mail he used 3 bs excuses its going to rain, rust (no rust), another appointment. tried to convince my on taking it to a body shop . I hate dealing with failed con artists but thats life
Fast and friendly service. Good staff.
I would give zero or even negative stars for this place if it was available. My experience has been terrible with this place.I asked windshield repair end of August. At first, they told me that after verifying that I can get an afternoon appointment, that they scheduled in the morning and will not be available in the afternoon to repair my windshield. I asked if they can then just come down south where my wife works and takes the car to work so that we can have the glass repaired there and make the schedule (they told us that they would be down south at the time). Less than 1 hour before our agreed time, they told us that they will not be able to make it and told us to reschedule. Angry, but since I need the repair, I agreed to have it rescheduled. They told me that they were available to work the next week. Then on the day of schedule, they told me that the technician was in an accident and couldnt make it to work and told me to reschedule the appointment again. Very angry, but I agreed to a reschedule. They told me that they had a Tuesday appointment, and I asked if we can do it anytime earlier. They told me a Saturday was available. That was supposed to be today, but then they tell me they made a mistake and made an appointment on the week after today. Dont use this place. They are not professional, make light of their customers time. All they say is Im sorry, but you have to reschedule.
Two appointments scheduled - no one showed up to either. Second appointment they promised they would complete the job - high priority.Received a text saying that they ran out of time. Next available appointment 2 weeks out. This is a company that does not care about Your time. Highly recommend using another company based on my experience.
My truck was broken into recently and my insurance sent me to These Guys. I was told I would have my window fixed in 5 days. That morning, 7am, I get a call saying their technicians had called in. My next appointment would be Thursday or Friday of the following week. Cool. Wednesday night at 8pm I get an email letting me know my repair was scheduled for Thursday. No phone call because thats too hard? Anyway, technician calls and lets me know hes super booked and might get to me after 4pm. Fine, I have to go get my truck. Anyway, he shows up at 5-ish and doesnt know how to replace my window. He has to phone a friend and consult Google. New guy, I can work with new guy. I dont feel great about it but ok. Well, it gets late and another 3rd of my window has been broken out and the cab is disassembled. By 7:30pm hes wrapping my window and sweeping glass.I am told he might be back the following day but theyre super booked or the following Monday with help. And NOTHING! No call. No repair. No email or text. F-ING GHOST! My truck is tore apart inside, window still broke, and damn coat hook broke now too. Please these folks are Super Busy dont use themThis has been forwarded to my insurance as well as the BBB
The service was great. We were scheduled for 3-5 appointment but when requested, the technician showed up early. The replacement was done in under an hour. Perfectly satisfied with the service.
Brent was super nice and helpful when replacing my window due to vandalism. After an already stressful day, he made it that much easier by being polite and professional. Hope I wont have to, but if needed would call again!
Wish I could give a zero star review. Rescheduled me 3 different times before just not showing up when promised. Absolutely awful and would not recommend to anyone.
Tried to get my windshield fixed through this place and they rescheduled 5 times. Not exaggerating, they actually rescheduled that many times in the span of over 1 month with excuse after excuse. I ended up calling my insurance company and telling them I needed to go with someone else. Awful service.
If I could I would give zero starts to this company. Very unprofessional, full of excuses, and all the people I’ve talk to on the phone give different stories to why they cancel my appointment. They canceled on me 6 times, this is the day of. What kind of business canceled on a customer that much.......
Watched one of there techs throw a lit cigarette out of company vehicle and proceed to drive 40mph in a 25mph zone near Puyallup/fife, lic plate # c45497p
Sean was amazing, he showed up on time and was very friendly. Made what I thought would be a stressful process super easy
The repair was not performed properly. There are multiple places where the moulding has not been properly replaced or is separating.
After spending the last 24 hours and many call-backs and being shuffled from one customer service rep to another, Glass America notified me it would take 10 days to replace a window in my car. Not acceptable.
Said they were coming, canceled and then said I should go to a body shop. Waisted an entire day with these people.
Awful experience. First, contrary to their online listing, they are not located on Thorndyke Ave. in Seattle. Glass America is a national company in Illinois that sends out mobile technicians. In November 2018 they dispatched two technicians to repair the back glass of my 2016 Ford vehicle, which was cracked, at a cost of $383. The technicians Robert and Charlie rushed through the repair and unbeknownst to me, damaged the 3rd brake light seal while scraping the adhesive from the existing glass and frame. This caused a severe water leak and when it started to rain it pooled in the back of the car, in the trunk, damaged the rear leather interior and fogged-up the windows. I borrowed a wet vac and tried to extract as much water as I could, but the interior was swamped.I called Glass America to state what was happening and they dispatched Robert again, who came and replaced the back glass under warranty. The company was willing to dry out the car at a detail shop, so I had to call and provide estimates and negotiate with their regional manager to approve the detail work, so my car would not be infested with mold. However, it was thought a lack of polyurethane during the original installation had created gaps between the glass and frame and caused the water to leak. So the problem was not fixed. About 10 days later, on Christmas Eve, I discovered the car was swamped and flooded again.I notified the regional manager by email and he posited it could be a seal leaking and not the glass adhesive, etc. He sent out Charlie, who bragged that hes been doing this for 17 yrs and could not have possibly made an error. I poured water over the glass and third brake light assembly and water leaked right into the cabin. Not his problem he said, they dont touch that. I took the car to my Ford dealer and they replaced the third brake light assembly, which showed clear and visible damage, as if someone had scraped it with a tool. This cost me $600+. Glass America says this does not prove they damaged it during the replacement; though, my vehicle records at Ford state no previous water leaks or any problems with the third brake light. I kept the car in pristine condition and the interior is permanently water damaged.I regret calling Glass America and should have contracted Safelight, as suggested by my insurance company. But because the initial damage was under $500, it was not covered by insurance and Glass Americas replacement cost came $40 under Safelights quote. To save some money, it ended up costing me $1000+ and valuable time wasted throughout the holidays. Avoid this company.
Good installer
Unbelievable!
Never answer there phone or call with any updates
Worst experience ever, my insurer had to change me to a different glass replacement company because they couldnt get their act together.
Tank you very much
