The Deal;I was quoted by phone $73.00 + tax for a hitch install by Kyle, and set an appointment for the install.Upon arrival I checked in with Kyle at the counter.Kyle, I, and the installer went to the vehicle at my request to inspect my hitch and the vehicle.We agreed there were no foreseeable issues, and the quote was still $73.00 + tax.I went across the street for a sandwich, which also provided a view of the install bay.Install time was 30 minutes, which is in line with $73.00 I was quoted.When I returned Kyle was gone and Veronica was in his place.Veronica told me my total was $180.00 + tax, but because the installer finished early she would do me a favor and change the total to $90.00 + tax.I asked to speak to Kyle as he had quoted $73.00 + tax and Veronica said Kyle was gone.I asked to speak to the manager and Veronica said she is the manager.I asked to talk to her boss and Veronica gave me a phone number for U-Haul that she said they were in Texas.Again, Veronica told me my total was $180.00 + tax, but because the installer finished early she would do me a favor and change the total to $90.00 + tax.Then Veronica told me I had to pay $98.55 to take my vehicle.So I did, and I told her I would contact U-Haul.Contacting U-Haul is time consuming, with an hour in wait time and an hour in talk time total.What I found out is the U-haul on Warden Rd. in Sherwood, Ar. is a company store, and the manager is in fact Ray, not Veronica.Also, the staff are U-Haul employees, but have no real supervision (according to the U-Haul customer service agent).I was told that U-haul has no flat- rate guide labor guide (used for consistent pricing, and a standard in the automotive service field) from the agent, and employees are allowed to determine and set prices.However, Kyle told me he had a by model labor guide, and used it for my initial quote.The customer service agent told me they would contact Ray (the actual manager) and I should expect a call from.Ray did call, and attempted to convince me that I didnt talk to Kyle initially and that I was quoted $180.00 (2 hours labor) from the beginning.Ray also added some employees names that I havent spoke to or met, claiming they were the ones involved.Kyle is well spoken, and I recognized his voice when i checked in for the work, he also had his name on his uniform.Ray started yelling, was becoming aggressive and threatening when I disagreed, so I hung-up.Conclusion:I was charged $17.00 more than I was quoted.The above text is factually correct.I doubt U-haul is without standard operating procedures, and pricing for services.This appears to be a Bait and Switch.I can only guess what transpired when I wasnt present, and therefore omitted any speculation.I personally will not do business at this location and possible U-Haul again, and moreover, after this experience with U-Haul will require documentation of quotes and all pertinent details including contact names before any service or transaction takes place.As always, Buyer Beware, Read the Reviews, Always get Written Quotes.
This place is difficult to get to. It is on a one way that lets off the freeway. If youre not coming from that direction you have to ride all the way to jacksonville to turn around just to get on the one way the right way to get there.
I ordered a trailer hitch to be installed waited 2 weeks for it to come in. Was told it was in so I went in for it to be installed and they didn’t have it. The guy said he didn’t know where it was because he had only been working 2 months.
The owner (general manager) of this location has a extreme lack of costumer service skills. He did not explain how payment of service worked so i was double charged and was surprised when i was. when i told him about it he treated me like i had no common sense and didnt know what i was talking about. he was the one who checked me out with the truck and explained nothing on how it worked. The employees are nice and helpful its just the owner needs to learn how to speak to people kind.
Ray was very helpful with us. We got a size too small and he helped us get the right size and had a great conversation while doing it.
Ive been going there for the last 3 years getting propane and today my tank was a little dirty from the weather and a new employee wouldnt fill my tank saying it needed to. Be certified. Stated havent been done since 2012 so sorry to say Ill be taking my business elsewhere cause if you can see through dirt and green moss to tell me my tank is not good apparently your in the wrong profession or you just dont know what the hell your doing or talking about thanks uhaul on warden road for nothing
Shane and Jonathan were great in assisting me! I improperly installed a bike rack to my hitch and was unable to remove it myself, they tossed it on the lift and got it off within 15 minutes! Thanks guys, much appreciated!
Very bad service... truck door was stuck. Waited an hour and a half to get the matter resolved. Clerk told me it was my fault and would not make any adjustments to my bill. Very disrespectful female employee who talked down to me as if i was a child. I served my country and as an Armed service veteran i was appalled at the treatment of the staff. When i asked to talk to a manager they laughed in my face.On top of that no one followed up after i filled out the survey describing my experience at their store. Would not recommend this store to anyone.
Tim(Timothy) was very helpful. But I do not remember the name of staff when I was returning the truck and I asked a question about my rental and the guy seemed not listening at all. I guess he did not want to care about U-HAUL costumers.
Used them for renting moving truck and they made the process so easy. They were kind and had everything I need to make my move easier. Ill definitely use them again.
I have had two hitches installed on a couple of Honda CRVs and was very happy with them. They did what they said they would do and in the time frame they said as well. They also beat all others on the price.

They are very unorganized. I drive all the way from cypress in Nlr to Sherwood to get my truck and it wasn’t there. They are talking about don’t know when it will be available. That was sooo unprofessional and inconsiderate of my time also what I have do. I wouldn’t give them any stars. But I had to in order to leave this review.
I rented a trailer from this location twice. The first time, they were very unattentive and tried charging me for 2 days instead of one as I only had the trailer a few hours. The second rental was complete opposite. They were very friendly and helpful the second time and were more eager to help and satisfy me as a customer.
Terrible manager/owner. Gave me an outrageous amount to install a hitch receiver on my truck.They didnt order the receiver on time so it was a week lake arriving. Manager said it was not his problem. Was very rude. I will never go back to this location as long as he is there.
Im not impressed. The truck I rented needed repair, including the driver side visor falling off, engine light coming on, gas cap wouldnt tighten, driver door didnt shut properly . . . When I tried to talk about it, I was told to go outside. The guy outside did not say anything to me other than I could leave. I do not think I will be renting Uhaul again. They dont keep their trucks up. This location, the employees can not be bothered. I spent $88 to drive a run down truck and get treated poorly.

My boyfriend and I rented a truck to move and we elected to split the bill. We were told by the uhaul representative that this would not be a problem. I checked my bank account and saw that the entire amount had been charged to my card. When I called, the associate was very rude. Upon being asked if the total could just be refunded and split between the cards on file like it was supposed to be I was told that “that’s not how it works in real life and this is something that you should work out amongst yourselves” he stated that whoever’s card wasn’t charged simply owed the other one money. When he went to hang up, and before I hung up, I could hear associates laughing in the background. I’m not sure if it was about this matter, but I can assure you I do not appreciate feeling like I’m being made a mockery of, especially when an associate specifically told me that this transaction would not be a problem.

Always have available products needed friendly quick in and out great staff Its a little out of my way because there are 2 locations closer to me but the service and staff it is well worth it had to extend my rental and this location extended it with no problem

Took forever to be checked out even after paying. Wasnt up front about all charges. Didnt inspect the truck when I was there dropping it off, instead talked on the phone, took the key and told me I can leave. Then charged me $50.00 without telling me what it was for. I called in when I saw the charges, got put on hold for 10 minutes, then just wanted to email me a bill instead of telling me verbally what I was charged for. This was when I called back the 2nd time. Would not recommend unless you dont mind being charged randomly.
Dealt with these folks twice.. they treat you right! No misc charges, hidden fees or stuff like that
Update: the regional GM took care of this problem and was very nice to loan us her lock since we couldnt be there the day that they cut the lock. The staff at the location definitely needs more training and needs to treat people more nicely and I need to be more consistent so Im going to update this From 1 * to a 3 *since the issue is taken care of.Issue:We were told that would have 24 hours access and to just let them know in advance if we would be there after-hours. Called to give them a heads up and was told it would be 10$ for 24 hour access.Then the Uhaul branded lock they sold us froze up and will not unlock. Talked to lady on phone and she agreed that it was Uhaul to cut the lock and replace. NOPE. Arrived at store to be told it would cost $35 for lock removal.Very Dissapointed in my experience.
I wanted a Uhaul for 2/11/17 because i was moving on this date. I got reserved for the following week. They charged double the price, tried to give me a smaller truck, and didnt have my utility dolly. They called after i got home to tell me that they didnt put the dolly in the truck. I waited for more than 30 minutes after the reservation time to get the truck. Several people walked back and foward through the store without acknowledging the customers in line.
Ray has great customer service skills . The best manager to run the company.Employees are polite and hard workers. I will continue to rent with them.
