After going to two other locations and having many problems with reserving a van online, Jacob at the Sherwood location was so kind and helpful. Thank you for solving a simple problem no one else bothered too at the other locations, and getting us the van we needed and ending the goose chase others sent us on.

A moment agoDO NOT RENT FROM THIS UHAUL!!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. Ran by a complete crook. I ended up paying about $400 for a 3 day rental of a 15 truck and drove a total of only 14 miles. I was lied to by the Sherwood manager John, and he refuses to give me any break on this outrageous charge I received. Please read our email conversation below. This is in response to me calling customer service regarding the charge. They refuse to credit me back any money at all and will not pick up the phone to call me either. They will only hide behind their email accounts... No wonder this place as a 2 star average. WOULDNT RETURN IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT.

Wow. Just wow. The guy scolded me in front of other people because I didn’t check in online. I reserved the truck the other day, and was told to just show up and pick it up. Sounds good to me. So upon arrival, he was off to the side texting and not paying attention. Then when other people came in, he proceeded to help them first. The customers let him know that I was actually waiting, and that’s when the attitude happened. He kept saying snide remarks after I answered all of his questions. Then after the lecture about not checking in online, I left. No one told me to check in online. I received no notifications or direction to do so. Hard pass on this location. Went up the road, and they had zero issues doing his job. Crazy how that works, huh?

I needed a 10by 20 unit which they now make you rent everything online. I was given three units on a split level. Meaning no elevator which doesnt work for me . The second time customer service insisted she could see two available 10 by 20 units again I was rented 3 units not even close to each other on the split level. They were supposed to be move in ready but were not they had padlocks on them. So I had to keep my overpriced uhaul another night. By Sunday I went in and talked to someone who then rented me 4 units on the upper level in completely different sections of the building. I was so frustrated. I was told to take the units and the manager would get ahold of me Monday and work out getting at least one 10by 15 unit. Which they had several open and available but for some reason the manager had to approve this rental ? So another unwanted night of a truck rental Monday came and went no contact from. The manager. After sitting on hold at 35 to a hour and a half more than 5 times I went to another company. I was able to easily get a 10 by 20 that was move in ready and unload the truck that was supposed to be a one dY one way rental that turned into 3 days and I had to return to Milwaukie so there was alot of unwanted miles. About 100! At 1.59 per mile. Plus uhaul charged me everytime for the storages. They moved me out of them but did not refund the money.. so another call to customer service who informed me that the manager at the site has to refund my money. And I needed to wait 72 hours for his call. No calls whatsoever. So guess whos on hold with uhaul again! Because you cannot actually reach a store with any phone number just useless unhelpful customer service agents who cant do a thing! Oh and lie! Never will I use uhaul again out of principle

This place installed a hitch for me. A year later the botched install resulted in the wiring wrapped around the axle and $1000 damage. Uhaul declined to pay the insurance claim. Avoid this company for anything other than buying boxes.

U-Haul Sherwood saved our day!! We had reserved a moving truck with a different company (due to needing a lift gate) After confirming the reservation with the other company twice we showed up on Friday morning for our reservation to find they not only didn’t have the truck we reserved they had NO TRUCKS at their location in Tualatin. The closet truck they had which was much smaller and didn’t have a lift gate was in Longview, WA (over an hour away) We had movers scheduled to meet us in just 45 minutes to assist with the move. We frantically started making calls and checking truck rental websites. U-Haul Sherwood was showing (1) 26’ truck available. We got to the location and they initially were hesitant to rent the truck due to the fact it was reserved for another customer on Sunday morning (our original reservation with the other company was for the full weekend). I believe the name of the person who helped us Friday morning was Amanda, and she was great, she was professional and personable! She apologized for the fiasco we had gone through with the other company (even though it had nothing to do with U-Haul) and was able to coordinate a moving truck for us! We were so relieved and thankful for her help! We also received assistance from the GM John, who was super friendly and helpful as well. Thanks again U-Haul for saving the day!!

Just had a hitch installed. Antonio provided a prompt, helpful, courteous estimate and followed through with calling to schedule an appointment as promised. Steve, our installer, was professional, friendly, courteous & knowledgeable. Gave us options to save us money AND was able to fulfill our request to mount the wiring the way we had hoped/wanted. They really took good care of us from beginning to end!!! I have a U-Haul up the street from me, but decided to travel quite a ways to go to this specific location and I am happy we did!! We would highly recommend doing business with the folks at this Sherwood U-Haul.

Very bad experience. We reserved a truck for our moving day a week in advance. The night before we got a call saying our truck would not be available for the pickup date and time that we scheduled.The UHaul rep, who was extraordinarily rude, said our “reservation” was actually a “request”. On the website, they use the term “reservation” which means that they will hold the truck and have it available for us on our reserved date and time, but apparently that isn’t the case.We ended up having to pick up a truck in Gresham and which led to another plethora of issues.I will never use UHaul again to rent a truck unless they get their act together.

I had a large storage area at the Sherwood location for a bit over two years. Never had any issues at all. The facility was always clean, no signs of rodents or bugs. Even the bathrooms were always clean which surprised me! I emptied out my storage today, now that I have a garage. Antonio was very helpful assisting me, as have all the staff whenever I’ve needed assistance. Keep up the good work.

Be careful; apparently it costs $20 to check in the truck after hours if you don’t use their app. And everyone needs four extra Gallons added to their bill no matter what so that 39 dollars a day isReally 78 dollars!!! Plus mileage so it was 150+ before it was all over. Can you say RIP OFF!!!

If i could get zero stars I would. We needed to pick up at truck at 730 am. U-haul offers truck pickup before hours which is another reason why we went to Uhual, but the experience we had today was a pure hell. We got here at 730 am and our truck could not be signed out. We then tried calling the number for Amber Alderin who was listed on the website if you have difficulties she let us know the employee from the previous day did not put the keys in the truck, ( Because that’s our fault right?) so we asked well what can we do, we are on a time crunch which is why we reserved this truck for 730. Verbatim said “ you choose to do the pick up before hours, your going to have to wait there is nothing i can do this is my only day off” then hung up on us. I cannot express to you how unprofessional this is. I would avoid this place at all costs. Your number should not be listed on the website if you do not know how to properly talk to customers.

This was my first time using this u-haul dealer. My good old standby went out of business. I found the gals to be helpful and I had my truck in a timely manner. the sign over the door read, Under New Management. I plan on using this U-Haul dealer again in the future.

Called to inquire about hitch installation and when I wouldnt secure the reservation with a debit or credit card, they hung up on me. I told them I was happy to buy the product, but wasnt going to dig up the card to make a reservation. Isnt it enough that I want to give them my money? Will not let me make reservation with out debit card numbers?Great way to alienate customers!

The manager was very pushy and tried to give me the priciest rental possible. Had i not stood my ground on what i wanted, the rental would have cost me twice as much. Will be telling every one to steer clear. Also, tried to rent me storage making claims about being the cheapest, when in fact it is the most expensive storage in the area. Absolutely displeased with this place.

I am confused to see negative reviews for this location. We are on our 5th local move in 6 years and we choose to drive from a neighboring town (that has a U-Haul location) because of the seamless service weve always received in Sherwood. Always fast and professional!

Great customer service from Trevor resolving a storage need we had. This was after we looked at around 10 other self store places in Portland area that could not help us. Trevor just made it happen!

Its a pretty long list! Horrible customer service! Alarm system constantly blaring when its not supposed to causing me to waste about half an hour any time I want to access my unit. Worst of all they dont hold up their contractual obligations and have charged me late fees even when I paid within the time frame given per their e-mailed notice. Avoid at all costs!

I dont understand what people are complaining about. $52 with insurance for a 5×5 is easily the cheapest price. Amazing, and thank you, U-Haul.

The staff was courteous and got us on our way within moments of showing up to pick up the U-Haul they also arrange for us to pick it up early was convenient for our moving schedule.

Customer service here was extremely poor. Called to reserve a U-Haul the lady on the phone was very impatient and rude to me. When I expressed disappointment that the only truck available was in Tigard (a long drive in the opposite direction of where I needed) she completely dismissed my concern and basically said I cant help you. She was not able to provide pertinent information about the store location, hours, or equipment available. DONT GO HERE! There are much better places to rent from who will actually value your business (Like the U-Haul in Newberg)

We were quoted one price for renting a truck and when we went to pick it up there were extra charges. A total of $20 extra for licensing and environmental fees. If these are legit costs for running your business just build them into the cost of your product or at least mention it when providing the quote. Dont quote a low price to get people in the door. Its a terrible business practice.

First off, I was planning on leaving a ONE star review. (Just an FYI all other experiences with this uHual have been great and they are cheapest around)This review shows you how customer service really does make a difference. Basically, I got a call saying that my card did not go through and WAS getting charged a late fee. I was heated as I called in and changed my card earlier that month (card was lost) so this would not happen. So I was pissed I was getting a late fee, I was going to ask to speak to the manager and hopefully get it removed if I was angry enough they might listen was my hope.I called up and the dude on the phone was very nice, I was not angry yet just annoyed. Didnt even really need to explain the situation or need to get angry he just said he would remove the late fee and note in the system that there was trouble with the card and if it happens again there will be a record so its all good. Took about 3 minutes and I was on my way. Booom

We were moving to the area, and was supposed to pick up our uhaul at a different location. They were nice enough to add on the distance we could drive since we had to come out to this location to pick up the truck instead. We also got our first month of storage free with their deal of renting and storing combined. My only complaint is that the truck smelled horribly of cigarettes. It was so bad that I refused to sit in the truck, and instead my partner had to drive it alone while I took another car.

I moved across the country from Kentucky to Portland and after having to trade in my 6x12 trailer because my truck engine blew UHaul graciously prorated the amount towards getting my 10x10 Box trailer. I had already planned trips and had reservations that went over the mileage so was concerned about the additional cost. I told the representative at this store and he seemed to be genuinely interested in my story and sympathetic. Honestly this store and the other two UHaul locations that I used on my trek across the country were great. I have never used UHaul before and couldnt be more happy with this store and the business in general. Thank you for your help especially during such a stressful time as moving across the country.
