Bought a trailer hitch and went outside to see if it worked for my truck. The shift wasnt long enough so I went right back in to return the item with the receipt, in a perfect box and they said it couldnt be returned because it had been opened. Tell me you couldnt resell this? Horrible customer service. Should be ashamed
I really need to write two separate reviews, one for pickup and one for drop off.For equipment reservation, pickup, and usage, 5 out of 5 star rating. The gentleman that hooked up the trailer was knowledgeable and kind.For equipment drop off, 0 out of 5 stars. The kid with the pony tail had quite an attitude and was very rude. He couldn’t figure out how to unhook the safety chains as the clearance was tight and the hooks were narrow. He seemed very judge mental and acted as if it were my fault. Within 2 seconds I had them disconnected. Not sure what his problem was.. with everything accounted for, I’d say 2 out of 5 star experience.
The management is completely unprofessional and rude. Didnt look at the contract agreement when presented with info. Refused to give me the key for my 24/7 pickup. Tried contacting them again the following day attempting to get the same truck that was re-contracted/rescheduled for me by customer service reps and told me that they didnt have it. Got snippy with me and said a ghost must have changed my reservation. Matt is the absolute worst at working with customers.

Had a few issues with our rental van but the manager Kevin was very helpful and took care of everything which was greatly appreciated.
Got to love turning my rental truck yesterday and being charged for two days because was not checked in till 6:53 am today. On the phone as i add review and so far an 1 hour wait time. Bad customer service here, usually only one guy or two working and a lot of people. I suggest avoid this location because you will have problems.
TERRIBLE - I purchased and paid for a trailer hitch and installation online, and scheduled a date for the install that was 10 days later. When I went to the location to drop off my car on the day of my install, the general manager told me they couldnt do the installation because no one was there to do it. I asked him why they didnt contact me to tell me that so I didnt have to drive there and have my wife miss work to pick me up. He said he wasnt sure...He then tried to tell me that he asked someone else to take care of it. He then walked away to help another customer and I left. What a crazy experience. Needless to say, this was a complete waste of time and I will never use U-Haul again for anything.

We have rented a truck at this establishment twice and we have had terrible experiences with the workers at the front desk. My first experience was on 5/21/20, I walked in to return the truck I rented. The employee saw me get off my vehicle as he was on the cellphone sitting outside on a bench. I waited inside for him as he continued to sit outside talking on the phone. He could see me from the glass door. This went on for several minutes. When he came in he had an attitude as if I was inconveniencing him by being there. Today 5/24 my brother and father went to rent a truck and they refused to provide them a service. Indicating that walk ins were not allowed. They asked that if they made a confirmation if they couldn’t then rent it. They said no, that they were out of trucks. Although the lot was full. I went online and made a reservation, they went back and the employees rented them the vehicle. Acted as if they had not lied about the vehicle availability. While there another customer walked in and indicated they did not have a reservation. The employees said they would gladly help them, no reservation needed. These “gentlemen” have no customer service skills and are just horrible at their job. I hope someone can turn that place around. We have been renting from this location for many, many years. They have lost our business

Corporate store and the worst place to rent from! They do not care because they work next to and know the customer service. They are not held to the same standards as independent & franchisees are held to.Poor customer service.If you like to have a dirty truck this is the place. If you want to be ripped off and lied to this is also the store to go to.
Always easy to work with! What’s really awesome is they always have trucks, they’re always available. The staff is pretty friendly. A little hard to fine, it’s tucked back on a private road. But when you get there, it’s the U-Haul gold mine. They have every truck you’ll ever need! This is the local service center so the trucks are always in great shape clean, and ready to go. Never had any reliability issues at this U-Haul location. I didn’t even have to worry about availability since their website is up-to-date too. But, this place has every single truck you would need! A lot of the trucks are new to since this is the local facility.

U-Haul at Elliot is the place to go!! Julian (and Kevin) are the men to see!! What started as a horrible electrical issue (no brake lights) that another shop messed up ended a fantastic experience working with Julian. He was able to redo the electrical harness assembly within the time-frame quoted to us and provided us follow-up pictures so we could see his workmanship. He is talented, professional and 100% reliable. This is our new U-Haul vendor!! We recommend all go to see them! You will leave feeling very happy and feeling VERY SAFE!!
All employees had their mask down under their chin. None of them had their mouth or nose covered. They were very slow and acted like it was an inconvenience. Fo some where else where the company actually cares about its customers. Will not use them again.
Nightmare. Mobile pickup was supposed bto be easier and contactless. Holy hell, it took forever, and when I finally walked inside, an unmasked employee rolled his eyes and said there wasnt anything he could do since I had already started to check in online. Never again. Total waste of time.
Workers at custom hitches are lazy and not helpful. Bought a ball for my hitch and the couldnt stop eating their lunch to help figure out how to open and install on my car. Rude no customer service. Do NOT use this u-haul go to another location!
Julian was awesome.I had to rent an 8ft truck in short notice to move a safe. Due to some mistakes on my part I need up not being able to pick up the safe and move it to its new location. I returned the truck and Julian gave me a discount. Not only was he proffesional and helpful. He was also extremely kind.I hope U-Haul recognizes the value of employees like Julian. If not I know of several other employers that would be more than willing to hire him.
Dont bother trying to call to ask questions, make a reservation, or for any other reason. They wont pick up the phone even though they have 3 people working.

This location refills propane tank but will not purge my new tank. If you have a new tank, dont come here. I had a new 5lb tank so I guess the $4 sale wasnt good enough or they were unwilling to do proper customer service.

So,After catching a Lyft by the skin of our teeth,who literally, took us west, north, west, and then south, the opposite of directly where we needed to go; Donovan, at U haul on Elliot Rd, was a pleasant surprise of an employee, remembered the customer, and helped us to complete getting the mandatory tools which we needed for the day to move.I even had to look this place up on Google reviews. It didnt just pop up.Five stars, I wish that I could give more.Peace,Even to the Lyft driver.I guess.Though, not from my lady friend
I stopped to buy some moving supplies here thinking it would be convenient. It was not. This is actually a very small location at what appears to be the corporate headquarters. I would suggest going to one of your neighborhood locations instead.

They wrote on my contract that the gas tank had more gas than it did when I picked it up, then tried to charge me for not filling the gas tank to the level they wrote on the contract. Luckily I took a picture of the gas level before I took the truck out and got them to remove the charge, but make sure you take pictures as well
Really friendly staff. Just about every option available in the Uhaul inventory you can get here. I showed up 15 minutes before closing and the staff still went above and beyond to meet all of my needs without any visible indication of them wanting to rush me out the door so that they could go home. They presented a few options and explained all of the insurance options without rushing through. They assisted getting connected up to the trailer and making sure the lights worked, etc. Highly recommended.

Customer service rep Joe Darnall is very dishonest and arrogant, this individual will act as if he can assist you and will in return play your situation as if you as the customer are very stupid, his lack of educating his client in which he is serving to have better knowledge of the services in which the client is paying for is ranked the absolute lowest in the industry. Usually I have no problems here. However today was different. The general manger was extremely rude when we parked where the other customer parked. Speaking down to my son and disrespectful asking him to move the vehicle. Customer service is key and that’s aspect was void. Had he asked politely it would not have been a big deal.Kana was great.
We will never use U-Haul again. I rented a truck for two hours yesterday. I used it to pick up a few pieces of furniture. I drove carefully, made sure that I took good care of the truck, and refueled before returning. The company is charging me over $200.00 for damage to the top of the cab, which I know I did not do. We are disputing this claim. If you rent one of their trucks (which I suggest you dont), make sure they inspect it with you before you drive away. No one inspected it with me. I will never use this company again. I know for a fact that I did not do the damage that I am being accused of.

Actually that’s where I got my hitch.U-Haul at Elliot Rd is normally a place to fill my propane tanks and has now become my main truck rental location.
I called ahead of time to make sure I would have no problem getting propane. When I arrived ten minutes later I was told sorry our computers are down. I said I had just called and he said :well you didn’t talk to me.
We reserved a 15 foot U-Haul truck for a 2,300 mile move at the Priest and Elliott U-Haul via the Ahwatukee Chandler Blvd site. We were told by the manager that we would receive a call to confirm 2-3 days before the move (8/13). We never got that call. Since we were picking up boxes, we decided to just drive over to Priest U-Haul. When we got there, the guy told us that the truck was not to be picked up there, but another place. He then fixed the location to Priest and advised us a truck would be held for us which had 53,000 miles and was in excellent condition. On Monday 8/12 we drove over to pick up that truck. The manager advised they did not have that truck, but one with 93,000 miles. I noticed that the truck was full of dents, scrapes and missing paint.We are both senior citizens and had never driven a truck before. So we asked for clear, full and precise information about the truck, how to drive it and any pertinent information which would make such a long drive safe. The manager and worker both seemed rushed and acted annoyed by our questions. They both rushed thru the instructions. We called back the manager again, asking more questions and he took so long to return to us. We were told not to worry, pictures would be sent to us showing the existing damage. We never received the promised photos. His assistant rushed thru our instructions. He was impatient, unfriendly and seemed irritable.I drove the truck back to our home. It was sluggish and seems like it had no get up and go. They had not informed us how to turn off the low gear tow/haul shift! We had to call customer service to walk us thru it, not them! Later on that night we noticed a light in the cab part. The light in the cab and back storage was on. We could have depleted the battery and greatly delayed our departure. Their job is to explain everything so we don’t have problems! Again they didn’t do their job. They were useless to us. All they want is to get their money ASAP. They then ignore you. Also during the 2300 mile drive, the steering wheel was shaking badly. My hands were very sore every day. Perhaps if they provided me the truck I had been promised, these would not have happened.Our original customer service woman said to contact her once we arrived to discuss a discount for our problems. We did so but could not be connected to her. We were told the president of marketing would call us in 24-48 hours, never happened. We called again and were told that his boss would call us, never happened. Don’t EVER trust U Haul. Avoid and beware of ever doing business with them. You have been warned.
Took a while even with doing rental online you had to go inside and wait in line for a key when it says you can get them remotely and avoid the line. The truck had a lot of unmarked scrapes and dents that made it a longer process of having to take pictures to document. I think they possibly need more help with very busy location.

The customer service here is absolutely horrible. You can call ahead to reserve a vehicle and once youre there the reservation will be changed. They DO NOT do a walk through with the truck so be very aware of any damages that are already there before driving away. The tank was at less than a quarter tank when we picked it up. Dropping it off was a nightmare. No employee in the office at all and finally after waiting for a while a person working walked out and said what do you want to a group of us who had been waiting for some help he did not help, just followed up by saying leave the truck there and go. The only positive thing I can say is when you speak with a manager they will try to fix the problem if you fight for it. Be sure to keep your receipt!

Do not go to this Uhaul or any Uhaul EVER! The Owners and Market Company President are cold and heartless people. They only care about money. They dont care about their customers or employees.I feel bad for the employees that are working there under the thumbs of tyrants, and any customers that ever has to deal with upper management. The manager, Mike and his employees at this location are amazing, its horrible that they have such slimy bosses/owners.

The agent JEREMY told my wife she would receive a 50 dollar credit for picking up the truck at a later date and further location. We have yet to receive the credit and have been given the run around by several different customer service agents. No one at the actual location will pick up the phone. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!
I had a horrible experience with this Uhaul. I am shocked at how they conduct their business. They ended up charging me $31.95 for my truck rental AND charging me the $80 deposit (which was supposed to be refunded) When I called to find out what was going on JEREMY told me they had released my $80 charge and I should be getting it back anytime. When I explained that my account was not pending and the charges had already come out he just reiterated that theyd already released my money and if I had a problem I needed to call my bank. I call my bank and they tell me theres no way Uhaul released the charges or they would have dropped off, not posted.Finally, I call their customer service line instead of dealing with the crooks at this Uhaul and they inform me that, yes they did charge me (obviously) and it was because they reported that we put 71 extra miles on the truck (over the allotted 100 miles) so it was a flat day rate of $80 plus rental charges. What?! We used the truck for 1.5 hours to pick up a dining set from Costco and bring it to our house, which was a round trip of 12 miles! Also it is practically impossible to travel 171 miles in the 1.5 hours we had the truck. I travel to Tucson sometimes to visit family and I make that 111 mile trip in 2 hours!!! Ive been getting nothing but the run around from these people, I have never had this much trouble with a company before. I have filed a dispute with my bank and filed a complaint with BBB. Avoid this place at all costs!

I scheduled an appointment to put a trailer hitch on my car through the uhaul website and paid upfront. When I arrived at the appointment about a week later I was told they were still waiting on the hitch to be shipped and pushed the appointment out a week. The next week I get a call from them saying their shop is being worked on and they would need to push the appointment back another week. Now Im being told the hitch was lost and so I have to wait for them to order another one with no definitive timeframe on when that would happen. Avoid this place.
The customer service was absolutely horrible. I called to pay for a trailer hitch over the phone, having to call three times, being placed on indefinite hold, computers crashing and staff unauthorized to take payments, to be on hold for over an hour, before being transferred to the Regional Manager and sitting on hold another 15 minutes, AND ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS PAY THE BILL OVER THE PHONE. This was beyond ridiculous!
I will NEVER be renting from this Uhaul location again. The entire experience from rental to returning was filled with hassle and was very very annoying. I showed up early for my rental after reserving and checking in online only to be greeted with a huge line and only 1 person working. After waiting for OVER AN HOUR to get to the counter I then had to wait I another 15+ minutes for the employee to taks the same information I gave in the online check in. I then had to wait OVER AN HOUR AGAIN for exaclty no help getting me hitched and on my way. I observed multiple customer behind me get their rentals and leave. Whole me and 2 other had to wait longer for no help. After one of the other customer complained the employee (GM mike) rudly ignored us some more. Helping multiple other but, not those who had paid and done all the reservations days in advance. On top of this I had to buy my own bulb as uhaul aparently can not maintain there own equipment properly. Having to wait hours for my rental made me late to and from where I was going as I had planned my route and time for leaving on time, as I expected a big company like this to honour their reserved time and not rudely make me wait. Because I had to wait for hours, my rental was late as the time out was set at 7:30am and not the 10am I left. On returning uhaul informed me that I would have to pay 2 day rental. I refused this charge as I would have returned with plenty of time left had the employee done his job in a timely manner. Uhaul said I would be contacted within 48hrs. Its already past that time frame with no contact or anything on uhauls part. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB if I do not get a satisfactory resolution. DO NOT RENT HERE. THESE PEOPLE WILL WASTE YOUR TIME AND COST YOU MONEY.

If its possible, i will definately give -5 stars for this U-haul at South Priest Dr.I went around noon hours and waited for around 15 mins for the cargo vans. The guy say they cant give for 24hrs and can only give for 6hrs and i need to return by night 9PM. what the f. I know its 19.95 for 24hrs +mileage+Fees. And these guys are very rude. I didnt took and went to other U-Haul on Kyrene road on W Chandler Blvd. They were really nice and without any question they gave me for 19.95 for 24hrs.
What a terrible experience, wont be returning. I showed up to fill 3 propane tanks, and rang the bell as the sign indicated. After about 5 minutes of seeing truck and trailer customers come and go, I went inside, waited to the front of line and asked for some propane. we saw you, well be right out there shortly. So I went back out, waited another 10 minutes, and finally left after a 20+ minute boon doggle. If they treated me this way over propane, cant imagine having a service issue with a truck. I would avoid this place if possible.
Was there like 20 min before closing hour, asked for a truck/ van to pick up an item from Costco - the guy basically said everything is booked & nothing available. I told him there are approx 50 vehicles in parking lot, zero available? He said - yes & moved on. I am like OK...

Didn’t explain the after hour drop off policy. Had to download a nonfunctional app. It didnt work for me and I ended up having to pay an additional $50 unnecessarily due to a faulty app.

Above and beyond service. I purchased moving boxes that ended up not fitting in my car and they instantly offered to follow me in a truck to my apt nearby. Even thought they didnt have the trailer I was looking for they were very kind and helped me with everything I needed.
