I honestly don’t take the time to review most companies. HOWEVER… This company is worth it. My wife and I had them install garage door openers for our home and they not only did an incredible job BUT… one of our doors was missing a strut for durability and Dean (one of the specialists) said he would come back out and personally make sure it was installed.Dean went above and beyond. The professionalism and care has made me a lifetime member and if anyone else needs any garage door work. Don’t bother with the other guys. Call A1. You won’t regret it.

I dont like giving bad reviews. However, in this instance I feel that I must. We were having intermittent issues with my Garage Door Opener. I also had a few things wrong with my garage door itself that depending on cost we were trying to decide between repairs or replacement. I had at least 4 other companies come out and give repair and/or replacement estimates at no charge. A1 was one of the last two companies that came out in June 2021. When I called to schedule, I was not informed that there would be minimum a trip charge - that would be applied to any work done if I chose to hire them. After getting a few free estimates, I had no reason to expect this. The technician who came out insisted that my 3 year old garage door opener had a bad main board and replacing the board (or the opener itself) would solve my problems. I remained unconvinced - since none of the other companies had suggested that my opener was defective. The repair estimates for the other items for my garage door were very high compared to other estimates as well. I reluctantly paid the $25 trip charge and sent the technician on his way.The very next company that came out explained that the door was mounted too tight to the opening and that there was too much slack in the chain. Therefore the opener sensed too much tension when starting to close the door and reversed as a safety precaution.A1 needs to be up front about their trip charge when customers call. Failing to do so, is a shady business practice. Their technicians may be well trained in SELLING, but they should be well trained in customer service to help customers avoid making unnecessary repairs or purchases.Bottom line: Buyer beware, I cant recommend this company.

Everyday A1 garage door comes to my address to pickup their supplies from the building next door. I figured I would use them so I called, they came right out, did an estimate and took payment. Its 2 weeks later, they no showed for 2 appointments and then showed up on a holiday when we were closed. No sign of when they plan on making the repair and the phone number only gives you the run around. I do not recommend using them as now they wont even refund my money or complete the repair. Im willing to bet that this post gets a lighting fast response from the minions whos job is to keep A1s name clear. As far as my paid repair, I dont see any response from them. They are back every morning to block my business entrance, as seen in photos! I guess were just not an important customer?Update - A1 finally refunded my payment and offered to do the repair for free. I declined due to the fact that since it was now pro-bono they couldnt schedule for weeks. Yet, they still come back everyday to unload their garbage at my business. Another point is if they cant put care & consideration into a job when the customer is paying, what kind of care will they put into it when they are doing it for free?

I have to say that this group of folks had the best customer service I have ever experienced ; start to finish. They person who took me call was super friendly and worked with me very easily to book the appointment. They had me at a window that was I think from 8-1. The driver called me @ 8:15 and was at my house at 8:30. Super friendly and personable tech. Gave me my options to fix my problem and told me its be 40 minutes to 45. He was done in 30 and explained every detail if what was done. Really great performance all around for this group. Highly recommend!

Their service technicians were great came out and very professional highly recommend. They came to fix it extremely fast. Only issue I have is their prices are extremely high just under $1500 for our repair. That said their labor and trip charge are very fair. They have extremely high mark ups on springs drums cables etc. that made up the bulk of this. Would’ve never known how high this they actually were without a friend of mine having the same repair and seeing his invoice. Again I don’t mind paying a little above market for quality but $1000 more made me post this review.

Chris Humphrey was the technician who came in this morning and fixed both the garage doors (large and small). Chris was punctual, walked us through the findings, fixed the issues and was extremely courteous. Very satisfied !!The reason I am giving only 4 stars (and not 5) is since right off the bat he tried to sell me a new Garage Door opener ($~1,500) without performing any real diagnostics as to what was really wrong.But, once I pushed back and agreed to their 29 point check-up, things went smoothly from that point onwards.

$2000+ for a set of springs(4) seems high. If it werent for the fact that both my cars were stuck in the garage and I needed at least one out I would have called around; my neighbor who is a builder said that price seemed higher than giraffe balls. I had no problem with the technician at all, He was prompt, courteous and did a great job in the 100+ degree garage. A manager did call me and explained the situation which I now totally understand since my garage door weighs over 500 lbs and the pandemic has created a supply chain issue for a lot of their materials. That being said, he was extremely professional and wanted to make sure I was happy. I will use them for all my future garage door problems (although hopefully not for awhile........)

Bryan scheduled an appointment for Tuesday 8:00AM to 1:00PM.The service tech called a little before 8:00AM and said he was on his way. Dean arrived and introduced himself to my husband and me. My wife began her day with the morning greeting of one of the overhead garage door springs breaking. Luckily, only the wall was damaged and no one was hurt. First, can I just say that I loved how professional and prompt this company is? I called at 10 a.m. in a panic for a service call, and by 10:15 someone had already sent me a confirmation email and text for my same day appointment. I was quoted a time between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. By 12:30, I recieved a call and text from Technician, Dean A. stating he was on his way.Dean came and assessed the situation and by situation I mean...I backed out of my garage and hit my door and boy, did I do some damage. (CANNOT believe I did this!) Dean gave me a quote immediately and promised to do what he could for us. Mind you, our garage door was completely down off the track. Not good! My garage door spring broke on 4/10/21 and I called A1 Garage. They scheduled a repair for 4/11. Chris was the tech and was very professional, competent and knowledgeable. Chris replaced both springs in my 2 car garage. The cost to replace 2 springs with labor was $736.00. A1 also had another option for lifetime guaranty for even more $ but I declined. I thought this was a high price to replace 2 springs but Chris assured me this was a competitive price. I did not check other prices and am hoping that is the truth.

I had a great experience with A1 Garage Door. They offered a good deal on a garage door opener in the local ValPack. They were able to install the new opener in a matter of hours. They were very friendly but felt like I was talking to a used cars salesperson. Priorities were to sell my a whole new door/system then repair what I had. I was quoted a price which I found out was about 2k more than another company for the same door/system.

We recently bought a house that has a two-car garage door and a one-car garage door. The home inspection report noted some things for us to have looked at. In July, we paid a highly rated garage door company to inspect the doors and do tune ups. He told us the inspector was wrong and that both doors were in great shape. Last weekend, the two-car door stopped working and since house painters had the one-car side blocked, my car was stuck inside. I called A1 first thing Monday and Brandon was here within a short time. He quickly found the cause of the problem as well as some potentially dangerous things that the inspector and previous garage door person had missed. I was considering some upgrades, so I asked Brandon about that and he was able to give me information about various options and price points so I could decide what would best fit my needs and budget. He was able to take care of everything in that visit. He was professional and courteous throughout. As an added bonus, he showed up wearing a mask and was careful to keep his distance as he showed me things on my doors or on his iPad. That was also a lovely contrast from the previous company whose rep showed up without a mask and complained loudly about being asked to wear one for the short time it took him to tell me I didnt need repairs. Mark and Brad were excellent and professional. The previous techs had installed the wrong hardware, but these two gentlemen worked diligently to help me and my family out. I would for sure request mark and brad when I update my garage door needs.

Service technicians were excellent. They were on time and very proficient. Educated me on the maintenance and repair of my garage door which I really apprcreciated. And they were SUPER nice. There were several extra charges like mandatory trip charge, mobile charge. AND the service and parts were definitely overpriced. Parts all in all would have costs about $54 bucks at home depot, but I was charged about $277 bucks for parts alone. Offered to replace my rollers at $168 (parts), then at the discounted price of $89. I declined both offers and replaced myself the following day for $17.91. I basically paid $475 for a job that should have costs $200.

I was conflicted between a 3 or 4 star. They do ok and were professional but I felt that for the 45 minutes of work performed it was expensive. In addition, he was more focused on trying to up sale me a garage door.

We were believing to have our garage door fixed this week. Repair person was delayed to be able to get to us on a Friday afternoon so they made it right by having him come Sunday morning. The news was not great as he gave us the news that we needed a new garage door and new opener. This is not his fault and his handling of the situation was very exceptional in this day of uncaring in peoples attitude. Cody was kind, patient, and understanding. We are an elderly couple having just retired with our business we had for over 40 yrs. Cody made something unpleasant into a tolerable necessary situation. Thank you, A-1 Garage Service Co.!
