From the first day I walked into this business, I felt welcomed. That meant everything to me. I was immediately greeted by the workers & any questions I had regarding firearms or firearm safety they were happy to answer. After 5 weeks of practice, I decided to make my first purchase. They gave me great advice & recommendations. Im extremely happy with the Canik TP9SFX I nabbed. In my opinion, Canik firearms are the top competitor to Glock. Theyre SUPER reliable & WAY more affordable. In addition to my purchase, they offered me a nice discount on a range membership. All of my firearm purchases in VA will be with Lynnhaven Superior Pawn & Gun. Theyre prices cant be beat (even w/ the current mark up in prices due to Covid-19) or their outstanding customer service.

Matt in the gun range is the best! If it wasn’t for him I would have probably left a 3 star review just because of the other gun range officer, don’t know his name, but was completely rude. Matt took his time to help and give amazing advise on how to shoot our new dracco. If anyone needs any help or would like assistance/guidance on how to shoot ask for Matt!

I have been going to this location since they took over the building, this is one of the best gun stores I have been to in Hampton Roads. I may not exactly like the prices of a certain item but they are always market competitive and if I want to wait for the item I can always order it on-line.Staff has always given me their utmost attention and whenever I ask a question that exceeds the experience of that member they know who to ask or how to find the answers.

Everyone is pretty cool, but definitely don’t take their advice. They have no idea what they are talking about. Edit: context. I went in asking about the existence of a tool to help me replace the spring for the front take down pin of an AR. I was told that not only did this tool not exist, but it was in fact impossible to change this spring. I immediately knew this man wrong. I left and messaged a friend of mine who is an armorer about this. He said that man should not be working at a gun shop and that it was indeed very possible. In fact, you can do it with a 1/16th drill bit. I have since changed that spring, very easily, I might add.

Great staff! The range officers are very informative ( tall slim white guy and the short black guy) and they are extremely helpful when it comes to questions and opinions on different accessories at many price points.

This was my first experience with a shooting range and I can only hope the places here at home in New Jersey are as great as this place. We went back in September. The staff were all pleasant, helpful, and informative. They helped us pick our guns and had no problem showing us what to do and how to do it. My gun jammed a few times and someone was always right there to help out. Definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. We had a really great time.

The staff there was friendly and helpful, answered whatever questions I had to the best of their knowledge. The firearm selection is pretty good, although I feel like some manufacturers were favored over others. My biggest issue is the prices. From guns to accessories, they charge dramatically more than anywhere else. And I mean a lot more. Havent tried the range, but it looks fine from what I saw, a place to shoot. I understand a private business is designed to make a profit, but at 100-200 higher than most other gun stores in VB for a handgun, I feel thats a bit excessive.

Superior has the best or close to the best ammo prices locally. I come here for 1000 round boxes of practice ammo, and accessories like holsters and mag pouches. The store does not look that impressive from the outside or at first glance, but the selection is pretty good. I looked into their firearms classes but the class sizes are too large for the kind of instruction I wanted.

Really disappointed with my recent and only experience with this shop.I was initially talked out of the gun I made the trip out there for and bought a 5.56 instead and knowingly paid $150 more than msrp for a budget AR but was wanting it to modify and customize so whatever.What really killed the experience was that the gun I went for was priced double the msrp and was incomplete and would need an additional $250+ in purchases to bring to full rifle mode.So to put it into stats: $800+$160 (butt stock)+ $80 (for a medium capacity magazine)+ $50 (rail kit).So a $450 gun that has a msrp of $450-$500 complete cost $1,090 there?!?!Now for the real reason for one star. The gun I bought was used. Sold as new at a price reflecting new and told was new.There was black powder residue in the chamber and you can smell it, the striker was not brand new and had marks to prove it was used and the rifling had residue and smelled of black powder exhaust as well.I was legit sold a used rifle and told it was new! That’s false advertising and, because it’s a firearm, it’s an all sales final kind of deal. So basically I paid $800 for a $650 gun which used sells for $400-500 and still have to now replace the striker and clean my “brand new gun.”I have some calls to make this week

Dont know her name because she refused to tell me. One of the rudest interaction that I have ever had on the phone. Dont know if Ill follow through with me request.

I rated this awhile ago but didn’t specify. I’ve been going to superior for all my firearm needs since I’ve been old enough to buy on my own. From the staff to the indoor range, it just has this homey feel I love so much. Been a member of the range for quite a long time even got my wife her first carry there. Love the staff, love the environment. I can’t wait to get in that range again and put some lead down the range again.

The lady in cashier is rude. We wait for like 2hrs. If they know that theres alot people they should hire more employee. The First person we talked to were nice but other than that they are going to let you wait for a long time.

This place was great! I was in town visiting from New Jersey, and I wanted to take my 21 y/o daughter for her first shooting experience. I could not have chosen a better place. We were greeted throughout the establishment by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Each staff member took their time with us and answered every question that we could think of. My daughter was given not one, but two full lessons on the weapon, its safety features, loading, firing, and safety precautions. I felt comfortable that she was in the presence of caring professionals. She was given one lesson when we rented the weapon, and the second immediately after before entering our range room. The prices were reasonable, and the variety was great. Special thanks to Michael for your steadfast assistance. Will definitely visit again soon.

Purchased a revolver and ammo back in August and received a coupon for a weeks free range time. They were closed the following day and didnt get a chance to go back until yesterday. Since we didnt get the free range time, I noticed if we purchased a gun, you can get a year membership for $85 instead of the usual $200. Apparently that expires after a week also. I dont know the difference if its a year membership but disappointed the deal wasnt still applicable.

Went here for parts for my ar build will not quote price or if they even have it next went to the range 1 st time actually good time went back a 2nd time a few weeks later brought my 300 blackout shot 5 round range master says a pistol tube is not 3 points of contact so i cant shoot any more go to the counter to see if any refund is possible nope we will rent you a brace no thanks almost 18 dollars for 5 rounds never going back to much money grabbing

Been to both Lynnhaven and the VB Blvd locations many times and have always had a great experience. Friendly knowledgeable staff. All of my stupid questions answered with a smile. The staff make you feel welcome and appreciate your business. The firearm transfer fee is higher than other fun shops in the area so I take that business to other shops but over all a great place to purchase and shoot firearms. Highly recommend to first time shooters/gun owners. They also have Concealed Carry classes.

The first two people that helped me when my family and I visited here were SO nice, helpful, patient, understanding, and caring.Without going too deep in detail here, since it’s besides the point, it wasn’t until my mother and I were purchasing a firearm that things got... well, a little dicey.We were working with one employee, then the manager, David, came out of the blue and began to treat me like a criminal. I understand things are very shaky with gun laws right now, but rather than jump to conclusions and interrogate and belittle me, he should have calmly asked what the situation was. He totally freaked out on us. After that situation de-escalated, we were cold shouldered the rest of the transaction. I don’t even remember being thanked.It was just really awkward, and I won’t be back.

They discriminate here...plain and simpleNot even going to write a super long review about how me and my husband felt disrespected and the way they acted towards us.It’s a shame, 2020 and people still act like that, all I wanted to do was purchase a firearm for my job. But I’ll take my business elsewhere.

The customer service was excellent.I had a woman help me with picking out a .45 Smith and Wesson M&P shield and she was very helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. As I looked around the store waiting for all the paperwork to be finished all of the other guys that worked there greeted me and asked me if I needed help with anything. Everyone was so respectful and they made you feel welcomed and they were always around and available to help. Prices were really good and the deals they have are very reasonable. Has been since febuary when i bought a 1911 from here was defective upon purchase abd was sent to manufacturer. Due to covid it takes longer than usual. It is now 7/24 6 months later and still no weapon. Manager brienna was rude and short over the phone and said its my job to get my gun back or buy a new one i will never again spend my money here. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!

Very enjoyable location beside the range being cold as ever its a great place to shoot and buy all your gun needs. The staff are super friendly and patient. All questions were answered with great detail. I do plan on coming back especially for their couples night on Friday evenings. Free gun rental. You cant beat that.

I was visiting from Pittsburgh and rented a Glock 17 and a CZ pistol.The range itself could use some work as there are no distance markers and the target cable controls are fairly rudimentary.I would highly recommend this range though.

The staff was friendly and very experienced. Went over the rules for the range thoroughly. When I was asking about .380s the gentleman that helped me discussed in detail and what type him and his wife carry. Plan to get a membership since its very reasonably priced compared to other ranges. Havent had any problems will keep going there. Keep up the good work.

There are a lot of gun shops in Eastern Virginia but this one, I cannot recommend one more than Superior Pawn & Gun. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive helpful, and insightful. Their selection is varied, very affordable, and from reputable brands. The store is clean and the layout, while condensed, does not get hemmed up when there are a lot of customers.I went in two weeks ago to do some shopping and the staff and their manager Sam were very helpful. They ran my information to make sure that as an out of state resident if I could purchase a rifle. They cleared everything with the BATFE but I was unsure if I should buy right then. Sam gave me her card, mentioned that if you buy a rifle from them and register as a member of the gun range within a week for $85, you get free range time for a year with up to two guests.I came back yesterday, Sam immediately recognized me, helped me find the perfect AR for what my requirements were for an excellent price. Her staff were very helpful in helping me find the magazines, sights, and a proper range bag as well.Their service in assisting customers through their background check paperwork is very streamlined and I should know as I sold guns at a sporting goods store for 2 years.

I used the range and rented a weapon that they provided and bought a box of ammo from them that they gave me, that was recommended for the weapon I was going to use. I go to the range, load the weapon and try to fire it and it jams, I unload the gun and find the round stuck In the chamber, turns out the bullets I was given were the wrong rounds for the weapon, I didnt think twice to check them before shooting them thinking they knew what they were doing, but thank god it didnt blow up in my hands. I let them know what was going on and the manager comes to me and just has me return the rounds and has me Buy the correct ones, at this point my nerves are shot and Im not even wanting to shoot anymore, I paid 50$+ dollars to go to a range, potentially get hurt and leave immediately after. I love the Virginia Beach location near pembroke and know they are competent, but I was extremely disappointed with this location. This happened months ago so maybe they have changed since then but I felt people should know to be aware and be safe.

My first visit to this range was for the Women’s CCW permit class. Let me start off by saying I was very nervous to go into a range with a bunch of beginner shooters. My family is very gun-friendly so I have some background in proper gun handling, but I was worried about safety among people who didn’t have the same background (we all know common sense isn’t so common). However, I cannot speak highly enough of Kim and how she ran this class.I’m not a first time shooter, but very much a beginner. The class was very detailed, and I love that it covered the safe handling and use of both semi-auto pistols and revolvers. Kim made sure everyone was very comfortable with all the information before we went out onto the range, and gave explanations in terms any person could understand, regardless of their experience level.Her lessons on determining your dominant eye, how to sight and aim earned me a perfect score on my target, so her teaching methods provided excellent results. She also had great suggestions for women and our options for concealed carry holsters, as well as some tips when it comes to shopping for your own personal protection weapon.I also liked that she added other defense tactics such as being aware of your surroundings, locating exits in the event of a threat, and acknowledging what it will take for you to feel your life is in danger. Most “gun people” I know try to act like heroes when they discuss self defense, but Kim was very knowledgeable in advising us that the best way to win a gun fight is to not show up. Just because you carry doesn’t mean you’re volunteering for a fire-fight. Be safe and get out of the situation if you can. GREAT information & advice.I left with with a great comfort and confidence in my own ability to safely handle & shoot any handgun I come across. I will definitely be back to take their “next step” class, and any others to pursue my new interest in this sport. THANK YOU KIM!

This is much better since it changed owners from A&P to Superior. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Can shoot lead shot with shotgun in addition to slugs. When you ask a question they answer it and if needed walk to the item display with you and explain things. Range fees are 1/3 the price of Colonial Shooting Academy. It can get real busy on the range on weekends and some weeknights. But I love this place. I especially want to commend Dan and Sam (as in Samantha).

Talk about price gouging. Tried charging $60 for a box of 9mm. My family and I laughed and left. Wont ever come back here.

I am a shooting enthusiast, and have been coming to this range for years, and purchased a number of firearms. Staff is very knowledgeable, and very friendly. Always willing to help with questions or take the time to show a firearm. There are times when the ranges does get over crowded. Unfortunately there are times people violate a number of safety rules. Sometimes the parents that bring children do not even know standard safety precautions themselves and the children are way to young to be on a public range.

Weve bought quite a few firearms from here and the purchase has always been quick and easy. My wife and i love to come shoot after work.Come by fridays for date night!

Just moved to Virginia Beach from Florida and decided to go shooting for the first time since I moved. First off I got put on a lane with a broken target holder, and there was no communication from the RSO during the entire time I was shooting. He was too busy flirting with some girls and socializing with some friends that were on the range. Meanwhile the guy two stalls down from me is shooting bird shot and buck shot out of his 12 gauge (nothing was said to him) and broke the target holder on his lane. No wonder they all seem to be broken. And another guy a lane or two down from him was shooting an AK and was hitting the floor instead of the target (also nothing was said to him). I felt very unsafe today for my first visit! I left earlier than I wanted to because It was just a matter of time before there was a ricochet and someone getting seriously injured.Edited 2-2-2018I went again today to give it another shot. I have no complaints anymore. Target holders were all replaced. There was also another range master there and he was very attentive! Thank you for correcting this stuff Superior.

Honest review, Ive shot here at least 4 times and will continue to go back... Only bad things I see is that one time me and a friend paid for a lane each.. but the range couch put us in one lane together even though we each paid... Trying explaining to him but he miss understood us so I just left it alone.... Also another time it says 2 people to a lane but yet there was a dad and 4 kids in there swapping a shotgun and not keeping the gun in there stall and would not keep it down range... And never once saw any staff correct the situation... Other than that it a good place to shoot.. good pricing, and staff never have given me any issues personally.

Well, I took the gun safety course last year and just called because I finally wanted to get my concealed weapons permit from the state. They told me over the phone that they do not keep any records of anyone who has taken the course. Really?????I liked the course though, just sucks with as modern as most companies today are, they fell short with keeping something that customers pay for in a database.
